Okay, all clear now. Issues resolved.

Marceau was well-used to looking for people, and had to admit it was nice to wander a place like Paris, speaking in his native tongue with people he understood nigh-instantly. It was thus that when he finally arrived at the flat he was much more inclined to persuade Frederick than simply dump the sheer horror of the trouble they were in on his head to make things easiest for himself. <"Ah! Mr. Klinefelter? It's me, the man you met in the Arch of Triumph. I need your help with a slight issue"> he jangled the Amulet for emphasis <"..that cannot be put off for long. May I enter? I assure you that it will be but a small effort on your part that is needed"> he concluded warmly, the sunny valley of Carcassone ringing in his syllables.

The blade cut a jagged tear is his shirt, and left a narrow gash where it had traveled. Subito didn't say anything as he dove for the man, arms thrown out in an embrace after holstering his Banner. It wasn't because he didn't want to say anything, he just couldn't make up his mind which of the very angry Spanish phrases his parents had taught him to refer to such as the Captain would be properly vitriolic. As he arms swung around the man's sides to pinion his arms, he wondered what his cousin would have done. Rodrigo was quite fast, after all, and had a tongue much sharper than Subito or Galanta's. He resolved simply not to be very specific. If he had, he doubtless would have been deluged with suggestions days after the fact. "What she said" he blurted at last.

Sorry for leaving this be! Anyhow, Subito will make a Move Action and attempt a Grapple. Attack roll: 20 Grapple roll: 25

Yes, for the exercise's purposes, the wyvern is technically out of bounds in regards to lethal force. If Arcturus can get the same effect he wants with guile or whaling the tar out of it until it bolts or is an unconscious heap on the ground, that would be preferred.

Granspear! So sorry for ignoring you, what would you like to do?

GM With a slight creak, the larger hollow in the door was revealed, the covering plate sliding back on a pully like a garage door's opening to view a narrow, quite clean and well-lit passageway, with another door at the far end, only four meters from the opening. The red dust lay thickly on the floor in streaks, having drifted down through small holes in the three pipes visible running along the ceiling. A single, but superlatively luminescent, light bulb haning bare dangled through the network of rafters that extended for several feet above the passage way, which sloped gradually underfoot.

GM Max's inspection of the hollowed-out section of wall quickly revealed something: a clear pair of parrallel grooves that when pressed slid back a thin piece of wall to reveal two buttons. One black, one red, positioned horizontally.
-
Nope, nothing more is found from Spitfire's efforts. Except for the sliding panel in the rear wall of the vault with the two buttons underneath it.

"Glad to see you again Kris, Luke" Subito echoed, smilingly happily at the other two newer students. He had no idea why Morgan would bring a backpack along, let alone such an instantly recognizable one, but he kept his thoughts on that score to himself. He noticed Luke's discomfort though, and couldn't help but speak up "Morgan's a part of the Irregulars, a group of Claremonters who might even be stronger than New-Gen, if Rick's not making a lot out of nothin', which in this case I doubt. They've got Mr. Smith among them, you know that guy Luke? I pointed him out a day or two ago, blond and blue-eyed, looks like some kind of soldier? He's awesome" from the way he said it, and the look of deep admiration on his face, he clearly meant the word in the old-fashioned way. He glanced between Luke and Morgan "The 'Hub'? Does that mean Boston? You guys both sound a lot like people from there I've met" to Kristen he added, jerking his head in the direction of Hawke "Is your name really that hard to recall? I don't think I've mis-said it once, and I somtimes can't say my own cousin's names right"

"I..don't really have any" Subito admitted, the worry he felt whenever it came time to explain resurfacing "I'm granted access to the power of a spirit I call the Blue Dame, who is some kind of spirit that represents Peurto Rico. I ask for power to help others, and she gives me a Banner" he pronounce the capitalization flawlessly "a very fine costume, and increased strength, endurance, and the power to fly. The banner fills people who see it with hope, and makes my skin a LOT tougher, as well as letting me repair clothes" he frowned a little "I do have crazy good hearing though, like that guy" he pointed at a brisk, elderly man wearing a downright 1950's getup across the street who had glanced in them and muttered something "is wondering if we're..uh" he colored slightly and coughed as he changed the subject "That was an awesome car, a shame they don't make them like that anymore, so many modern cars look like bullets now, no style, you know?" He glanced at the gate "You didn't see Victoria and Morgan when you were coming to the bus stop, did you? I don't want to be stuck waiting at this bus stop for ages"

In the meanwhile, the King of Suits was busy examining the grains of red dust he had collected from the pipes. It hadn't taken much to determine what they were from, a chemical compound that was noted to interfere with soundwaves as well as blocking sight. That coupled with the hollow panel in the vault told him pretty much everything he needed to know: the gas had been pumped into the room, under which cover the ninjas had carved out their secret passageway that let them strike silently into the rooms far from their origin. Seeing no real reason to hang about he called over the other three "Synth, Spitfire, could you help figure out how to open this? We need to get through that, and I don't want to blow it in or have it melted or anything"

Sense Motive check: 19, +1 since this is the second time, so 20. Just succeeds! EDIT: Aaaand Glow was targeting the Mummy, not the magician, my mistake. Acrobatics roll: 15, +1 since this was done on him last time so 16. Fails anyhow.

Who's That Coming, From Somewhere Up in the Sky? (IC)
Ari replied to Shofet's topic in Skies Above Freedom
The triton nodded quietly, digging a small furrow in the bridge support with a hard and sharp toenail. He could understand the concept of what the Penitent served as, but the finer points still struck him as totally removed from the reality he knew. An odd world this, if Penitent truly is really what and who he says he is he commented internally, saying out loud "It is a great thing when the dead help the living, even if simply by example or record, to provide concrete power in this world is quite incredible to me" he looked at the Penitent's clothes "I have no wish to weary you with talk, O' Penitent," despite the archaic phrasing, he spoke quite sincerely "but I dare say you know much more about this modern world than I, so I ask: how should I gain the trust of the humans here? How do you?" -
Oh sure, no time pressure. In the vault she finds a 6'x4' hollow section in the rear wall, just under where the tubes are, and another one in the floor.

El Heraldo stared calmly at Net Fly for several seconds before replying "Surge, if you had any idea how much sense that made to me, you would say it a second time, just to make this whole place a bit smarter. I have only the barest idea about how to use computers myself, and you still made perfect sense. I'll watch your back while you figure this place out, but I'm afraid I won't be able to do much, you know? Luckily the robot things we've seen didn't look to bad, I can probably take 'em" he slid the Banner back into its loop, and floated a little into the air "So, we going to look in the lower levels for this presumed A.I./transmitter, whatever-thingy device? Or do you have a better plan than wandering?"

GM Saiph's hammer of cosmic light crashed down onto Hed-Ra's shoulders like an avenging, yet to the Claremont students' surprise, it did little more than bring the mummified master of Egypt to his knees for a brief moment, rising again in his full splendor with nothing more than a smoking patch on his wrappings to show he had been struck! Heqanefer was not feeling a very well. That wretched girl had grabbed him, and even though he had shaken her off, he had still felt a horrible weakness pour over his head and seep into every limb. It took an effort to keep from collapsing, and to raise the Ankh of Set to throw the lance of light at the stellar creature who had tried to destroy his newly-risen servant, seeking to blind him. I loathe you Set, and I shall vent my rage at your paltry gifts on these putrid striplings!

El Heraldo gave a cheer as the bolt slammed into the bandaged king "Good shot, L-Saiph! I'll try and follow up!" he added, jumping up on the seat behind him, he sighted down the Banner and lunged forward, his momentum sadly leaving him unable to correct his path in time, with Hed-Ra simply twisting in an impossible fashion to escape the blow. Stepping sharply backwards Subito suddenly realized that he really needed to put on a better showing. If every fight he was in could have gone the same with or without him, he was doing something wrong. He frowned at the Banner, wondering what power he might unlock if he set his will to it...

Don't forget the Inspire bonus to your Attack roll. TOU save: 25 Edit: A Bruise, but no worse. Saiph gets a HP for Hed-Ra's tenacity. EDITEDIT: say, isn't there an Immunity to Critical hits on this guy's sheet? And haven't I been reading it over several times before the thread even started? Silly me. HP not removed, no Bruise either, sorry Heraldo will totally Accurate Attack(+-4) with mini All-Out Attack(+-2) against Hed-Ra: 16. Missed. Heqanefer will move 10ft. from his previous position and switch to the Dazzle AP of the Ankh and shoot a lance of light at Saiph: 25, -3 from Exhausted is 22, +4 from Accurate 2 is 26. Edit: No, dummy, the Accurate PF was already accounted for! Why are you counting it TWICE? DC20 Reflex and Fortitude save to avoid being blinded. You're up Glow!
