"That's an even better idea" replied El Heraldo brightly, glancing at the hallway "Not much risk from these guys escaping out the door either" he shrugged and put himself in a 'charge' position "Tell me when to go, and I'll bust them as best as I ca-" he suddenly stopped as an idea occurred to him. "Hey Glow!" he whispered excitedly "How about I fly us in there? You can get the guys on the bridge easily then, any you miss at first I can mop up, and they'll never expect us to attack from that direction" he pointed at the window and looked back at Kristin "What d'you say?"

Usually no, this time yes. Who to?

Stunned briefly by the air-borne coffin and the mummy's roar, Subito didn't dare to look at the impossible thing on the seat behind him, instead gripping the flag woven between the threads of his shirt and thinking desperately Blue Dame! Your power is needed to fight this man and his undead ally! Granted came the familiar reply, and in a flare of light, a fanfare of trumpets, and a fluttering of the Banner he now bore, El Heraldo appeared where once Subito Sondo had stood, resplendent in his sky-blue white-feathered cap, gold and blue jacket, checkered pants and leather boots. Raising the Banner high he cried "Come, comrades, let us bring this man low, and cast his ill-gotten servant back to what rest he was torn from!" a blast of light, a roar of drums, and a cry as of a thousand voices lifted in triumph answered him.

Heqanefer's Opposed Grapple Check: 29. Fatigue check: 11. He's Exhausted.
-
Hed-Ra's Acrobatics check: 17. Heqanefer's Sense Motive check against the Acrobatic Bluff: 22.
-
EDIT: Because I forgot. Ref save: 18. Hilarious. Heraldo will use the Quick Change feat to transform into the totally effective El Heraldo. Free Action to speak, using a HP to cast Inspire(which in accord with House Rules takes action this turn as well as the next). Edit: his rank is 4 so +4 to Attack rolls, saving throws and Checks. Heqnefer will make a Move action to get 20ft. closer to the heroes, and use the Ankh of Set, switching to the Super-Strength AP. Using it for a Groundstrike, STR roll: 20. DC18 STR/DEX(whichever is higher) check to resist the Trip. EDIT: Also Acrobatics can be used. DC18 Reflex check to halve that DC. (Not applicable for Saiph for obvious reasons) EDIT: And I didn't roll for Heraldo at first for some reason so 24. You're up Glow!

Who's That Coming, From Somewhere Up in the Sky? (IC)

"I signaled, yes" came the hissed reply from the triton. He was a little perplexed at the look of the being in front of him. He was no stranger to creatures with horns, gray skin and red eyes, but this one looked almost human for all that. The spines protruding from its hide were a downright welcome sight to him, as he unconsciously was ashamed of his spined hands. rending a generous portion from the halibut he removed the skin and bones and organs from it with minute care, washed it with water from the conch shell hung at his side, and offered it to the new arrival. "I am Wave-Eye, and I welcome you to Freedom City, unless you wish to cause the mortals here harm that is" he said in his hissing, gurgling voice between sharp teeth "Then I would have to fight you. I dare say I would have the worst of it though" he added with a sharp glance at the man's(Looks like a male, might as well think of them as such just in case) red eyes. Tossing the white skeleton he had so far uncovered into the water below he said casually "So, what brings you here? I do not think you are human and you carry no baggage, so I doubt you have come to trade with their merchants" -
On hold until issues resolved. Please do no post.

No point in further antagonizing the humans, so making the roll: 11. Nuts. Animal Handling check: 20. +2 so 22.

"I heard that " Wave-Eye snarled as he turned and sank back into the water, turning his legs to a dragon's tail in a flicker before sliding gracefully down to the detritus of human civilization under the bridge. Given such a vague goal coupled with such a vague time frame was nothing he wasn't used to, but he still hated the feeling of being ordered around by a mortal, and a human mortal at that. This is what I have decided to do he reminded himself sourly and all the ill-feeling in the world must not make me any less determined to do it Sifting through the trash accumulated around the mighty metal and concrete bridge was for him a relief. Here in the water he at least had a definite place, and the careful search for any clues of the recent attack did a lot to distract him from his ill-humor. Seeing a passing fish he decided to at least broaden his search a little. With a smooth hissing he called to the animal ~"Hello small scale, have you smelt human blood recently?"~

Subito started as the doors rose from seemingly nowhere, whistling at the illusion with evident glee "That's a sight to see" he commented to Serge "Good luck to you guys, with any luck I won't screw this up!" he called over his shoulder as he stepped quickly through the large wrought-iron door bearing his name. He gazed about the space he found himself in with unfeigned interest, wondering how the illusions needed for everyone's tests was maintained at the same time?

GM "Skill-testing!" rang the voice of Archer over the speakers, heralding the re-arrival of Marcus from the infirmary "Couldn't find anything wrong enough with Ol' Irons here to keep him from coming back, so he's back. Needed a little rest, and some meditation to ease that Rune of his out of gear is all. To be totally honest with you guys: That was quite a stunning effort. I didn't know you had it in you to fight someone like Prof. E on any kind of keel, and the kinds of hits you pulled off are quite frankly phenomenal! But that said, we're not going to give you a second crack at him, at least for a while" "Now," he said briskly "the way this works is as follows: the Doom Room is going to make four rooms, one for each of you, where you cannot assist one another. This is very important, by the way. In the room will be a challenge that you must complete if you want to leave the room, and trust me" he added with utter seriousness "I'd hate to spend an hour in any of them. The computer will give a thorough explanation of the rules for each room, good luck to you!" the familiar noise of his voice cutting out sounded, and four doors arose from out of the floor next to each of the students, each clearly marked with the name of whoever was to go inside.
-
GM A horde of jackals seemed to be trying to get at an elephant while the creature above Quintessence spoke in answer "No, not usually; but there has been a crackdown on the unlawful spiriting-off of humans from your species' homeworld" it explained, in a not unkindly tone "An enhanced human though..that is rather beyond my expertise, not to mention I had been told nothing about what to do should one of your kind visit this place. Presumably, it was thought unlikely you would ever come here considering how little of worth is on this planet. So, while I have no opposition to your existence, I do object to your presence, it distracts me from my work, you see?" sliding through the tubes until it had reached a closer point to Quintessence, it rematerialized in its oozy glory at a comfortable position above James' head. With a dull groan, the black light of the alarm glowed in the dome. "Oh," said the creature in surprise "looks like the security system caught some more intruders. I do hope they manage to escape" it added nervously to itself before turning to the enhanced human and asking with forced cheer like a swarm of bees in a lion's den "Friends of yours?"

Who's That Coming, From Somewhere Up in the Sky? (IC)

Crouched on the top of the Centery Bridge, watching the constant flow of metal traffic below him, the monstrous form of the triton Wave-Eye, once Nochehuatl, sat eating. He had only recently crept up from the sea to join humanity in at least partial fellowship, and already he felt a deep clenching in his stomach whenever he considered the day's trek across the surface. The dry, dusty world he saw above had done little to endear itself to him, and it was only in storms like this that he felt much better about his choice. Munching a halibut he had snagged from where it had been wandering near the Great Bay, his gaze gradually lifted from the familiar waves of his natural habitat to the skies above. Seeing nothing to the north, a sky-borne tussle to the west and a thick fog to the east, he looked tot he south. His eyes, after a few moments of casual insensitivity to the blinking lights of an airplane, suddenly latched onto a flying being hurtling roughly in his direction. Pondering what this might mean, he decided it wouldn't hurt to try and get their attention. In a bizarre process, he turned his legs to a tail and back again three times, each change accompanied by a flare of light. With any luck he told himself this will at least lead them to someone a little tougher-skinned than most his teeth calmly crunched their way through the fish's body, and he readied himself in case this new arrival proved less than friendly. -
With Shofet's Permission, Wave-eye's in on this.

GM The theater was abruptly turned into a scene of near-riot, with the movie-goers, previously entranced by the odd scene before them, scrambling over the seats, pushing furiously t escape, and generally causing a ruckus. Heqanefer looked impossibly smug at this, and suddenly looked at the five teens who hadn't started running. Quirking an eyebrow at them, he gestured to Hed-Ra and said something in Egyptian. Whatever it was, Hed-Ra responded to it by throwing his coffin at Subito and roaring at him, which froze the young man in his tracks. Thus disabled, the bandaged corpse hurled itself through the air, somersaulted between the last two rows between itself and its target, and landed on the top of the seat the young paragon had just vacated, where he seemed to be making ready for an attack
-
So now Hed-Ra will do his thing and make a Startle attempt on Heraldo, Intimidate check :28. DC28 Intimidate, Sense Motive or Will save. Choosing Sense Motive 12. Hed-Ra: Move Action with Leaping to beside Heraldo. Your turn Airon.

Player Name: Arichamus Character Name: King of Suits Power Level: 15 (221/250PP) [258] Trade-Offs: +4 Attack / -4 Damage (Unarmed); +4 Defense / -4 Toughness Unspent PP: 29 Progress To Platinum Status: 108/120 Old sheet here. In Brief: French unpowered crime-fighter come to Freedom City to test and improve his abilities and help anyone he can. Alternate Identity: Marceau Suvou Identity: Secret Birthplace: Aude, France Occupation: Janitor, superhero Affiliations: House of Suits (European superhero alliance), Legio de Halberdiers (French magician's group, members include magical artist Rene de Saens) Closest Family: Masud Suvou (Father), Kioni An-Sallah-Suvou (Mother), Mossar An-Sallah (Maternal Uncle), Erran An-Sallah (Maternal Aunt) Age: 24 (November 2nd 1987) Gender: Male Ethnicity: Moroccan/Kenyan Height: 6'5" Weight: 178 lbs. Eyes: Blue Hair: Black Description: In his regular attire Marceau is a largely forgettable figure in drab earth-toned coveralls and work boots. In-costume, he wears a 'typical' black and red cape-and-cowl with the insignia of one of the four card suits emblazoned on the chest in attractive white shades. He keeps his hair short and at a remove from his face, giving him a high forehead, which combined with his far-spaced eyes gives him a look of constant apprehension. His nose is also short and blunt, his mouth is thin and often curved slightly upwards at some remembered joke, and he wears a a short, bristling beard. His voice is low, deep and resonant, with a slight French accent. Power Descriptions: Marceau's gadgets have a general trend of belying their efficacy through unassuming exteriors, mostly by making them look like cards from a standard playing deck, though a close examination quickly alerts the observer to the fact that they all are much thicker. His electricity-delivering Shock Rods are much less in line with the rest of his contraptions, and thus more obviously resemble some kind of weapon, looking like small nightstick with two copper and zinc wires meeting at the tip, which deliver the shock. Newest to his arsenal is a pair of chemically-powered Gauntlets that use the burst of a small explosion triggered by the puling of two levers on the palm to increase the force of a punch with a small ram. History: Marceau Suvou was born in the Aude river valley on the south coast of France, to a teacher at the College Varsovie in Carcassonne, and his bride, an electrical engineer. They lived in peace in an old stone house converted out of an ancient Roman villa. Nothing of note happened besides the quiet, introspective personality Marceau developed while living in the river valley. At the age of seven, his parents, having saved up enough money, embarked on a series of two-month long vacations throughout the Eurasian continent. The cumulative effect was for the boy's already deep interest in the smaller things of life to turn into a near-obsession. For hours when not in the rigorous schooling his parents took upon themselves to give him, he would watch ants walk under leaves, observe the movements of pebbles in the shallows of the river near his home, and stared in awe at a dust devil he happened across one night when he and his family were sleeping in the Afghanistan desert, entranced by the way it swirled the grains about itself. To his parents' relief, he made friends easily, and learned the languages spoken around him with a moderate effort. He wasn't immune to misfortune however, and suffered several potentially dangerous accidents, including one that rendered him permanently impotent. It took his move to Reims at the age of thirteen, when his mother got a job at the Chooze nuclear power plant, for him to take a wider view. One Saturday morning, while walking in the Jardin de la Patte-d'Oie with a Czech schoolmate of his named Aloysius Novak, when the Raven II and Bowman IV appeared, fighting a flying giant. As they stared in dumbfounded incredulity, the two unpowered heroes managed to lure the giant into a cloud of what turned out to be anesthetics, knocking it out and sending it crashing to the ground. Even back then the two were quick on their feet, and managed to speak for a few seconds with their new idols before the two left to rejoin the rest of the visiting Freedom League. Neither of the two young men took lightly the Raven's joking suggestion that they become heroes themselves to help out. For the next ten years whenever they had time from schooling, the two trained rigorously, offering their help to any who happened to need it. Their early successes were helped in no small part by the duo's enthusiastic acceptance of the smallest or largest of cases. Aloysius soon took on the role of leader due to the simple fact that as the dashing, swashbuckling sort, he assured others of their legitimacy more than the more subdued Marceau, and when the two set up shop in Serbia in 2007 it was Aloysius who drew up the ranking system and enthusiastically designed the guild's uniform, assenting to Marceau and the later King of Spades(a Romanian woman named Sabine Vaduva)'s wish for more concealing colors only after the Frenchman showed him how easily a competent gunman could track a target in the flashier garb the boisterous Czech loved. The two soon had well over a dozen allies, all of whom as enthusiastic about the kind of work the two often did(dealing with unsolved crimes, fighting the incursions of crime families, capturing supervillains), and all equally dedicated to the kind of training program the two required for all members. After becoming well-entrenched in the European superhero family as a reliable group of problem-solvers and competent fighters, Marceau and Aloysius began to discuss the idea of starting a branch in the U.S.A., a long-time dream of theirs on account of nearly mythical Freedom City. The discussion was finalized after Marceau uncovered and thwarted a wide-ranging conspiracy in the lower levels of the European Union's government, a long and maddening case that led to the resignation and jailing of a French politician that Marceau in civilian life had deeply admired. In the investigation the King of Suits had found links between the conspirators and numerous criminal families throughout the continent, including ones that previously had appeared totally self-sufficient. Embittered at this discovery at his work, he gladly took the chance for a change of scenery. Arriving in 2010, he unsurprisingly couldn't find much in the way of work on the New England coast, and found himself moving further and further south from his earlier landing point of Maine, ending up in Freedom City shortly after the Grue invasion in April. He found himself a job as a janitor at an office building used by the American Grant Conglomerate branch's accounting staff, performing sundry maintenance work whenever the place needs it for wages that could be charitably described as "Sub-optimal". As a result, he set up a delivery system to get needed supplies for his costumed adventuring from the base in Europe, which is maddeningly slow and often needs repair after arrival. Nonetheless, the Frenchman is eager to continue his work in his new home, and potentially help people get into his business, and fight the corporeal evils of the world on a level they otherwise would never have the chance to do. Personality & Motivation: Marceau is usually brisk and cheerful, seeing no reason to dwell on misfortune or become over-demonstrative of one's feelings, although he is still as vulnerable as any other human to irrational emotional responses. He tries to carry himself as he feels he should to inspire others, the knowledge that people follow the exploits of people in his line of work partially for encouragement an ever-present aspect in his mind. He doesn't have the charm that some others do, but he'll gladly try to live up to others' expectations, something he knows first-hand as a marvel to behold. Powers & Tactics: Marceau's favored tactic is to make his way to a suitable hiding spot and launch a sneak attack against any opponents he can manage, disarming any with firearms he can beforehand. If caught in the open he'll try to escape to a place where he can use his experience with ranged weapons to even the odds. If trapped, he'll use a smokebomb to blind his enemies before attempting to subdue all opponents around him with whatever will defeat them quickest and quietest. He finds lengthy battles increasingly difficult to fight, meaning he relies overmuch on quick defeats to win his battles. Complications: An Army Marches...: Marceau relies on shipments of supplies from Europe to operate at peak effectiveness, as he doesn't have nearly the resources to replicate the chemicals and metals he requires. A disruption of this lifeline would be dangerous for him. Bad Bosses: Marceau is blissfully ignorant of the Grant Conglomerate's misdeeds, and would probably severely overreact if he found out about them. Hatred: Conspiracies. Responsibility: Caring for the needy, especially his 'posse' of sundry homeless, harmless lunatics and underemployed vagrants who have latched onto him as their protector against street-gangs and minor organized criminals. If any threat comes against them, Marceau feels honor-bound to aid them. Secret: Identity. Struggling: Maintenance work doesn't pay much. Heraldo could easily carry Glow. He could also lift a significant portion of the bridge, at least. Maybe most of it.
-
Subito slowly got to his feet, the world a haze of variable colors that slid into each other as it spun on its axis at that degree that made it neither a perfect sphere nor shaped it like a egg. He observed that the holographic enemy had vanished, that the program had been cancelled, and that apparently somethe had happened to Marcus. With a groan he floated into the infirmary, hoping the solid-light punch hadn't done any permanent damage to his throat, a fear quickly revealed by the A.I. of the facility to be groundless. After a shot to help repair the damage done, he returned to the other two roughly as downcast as they. "So..what comes after the combat again? Or do we need to do that bit over?"
-
"Splitting up seems like a truly terrible idea" EL Heraldo declared fervently "If we get attacked separately, or if one of us gets trapped somehow, it'll be a lot harder to escape than if we're together" he stared at the gigantic piles of arms being shuffled into the bins at the end of the conveyers "Who in the world would need so many guns, I wonder?" he wandered over to one of the control panels that looked likely, and began looking for a good button to press.
-
I got nothing against that plan.
-
Subito happened to look over at the gates at the same time Janis appeared beside him, and jumped two feet in the air in surprise with bafflement written all over his face. Coming back to earth a little slower than was usual, he spent a few seconds figuring out what would be best to say at that moment, coming up with the absolute winner of every first-time meetings ever: "Hu-hi! I, uhm, I'm Subito Sondo" after a moment he offered his hand to her "I take it you're Janis? It's a pleasure to meet you" he smiled warmly, wondering nervously if he had overdressed for the weather. He didn't want to look like a wimp in front of a northerner, but he still wasn't fully used to how cold American winters could get. He had to admit though, now that he came to look at her, she was a lot more energetic than even Victoria had described.
