  1. "I'd say it would be best if we attacked the robot first" Marceau answered quietly "The odds of it being the most dangerous foe we'll meet here is very high, most automatons in this business are worse news than entire platoons" he walked forward quietly, face taut with the news "I dare say it can't fly, so you ought to be pretty safe from it" glancing over at him he added blithely "Don't worry, I won't get in the way, I can dodge very well" sliding on the gauntlets housed in pouches on his thighs, he asked casually "What do they seem to be using the parts for?" he scanned the cavernous space before him with the utmost care, hoping to catch anyone hiding before they could surprise him.
  2. The report of bullets was something Marceau had learned to deeply hate, not because he despised the weapons that shot them, but rather because it brought to mind a deeply unpleasant chapter of his youth in the jungles of southeast Asia. His experiences fighting there had ingrained in him a terror that to that day he still felt, a jolt of icy fear that crawled down his spine like a spider and settled as a clenching of his stomach. Thus it seemed to him quite right and reasonable to hurl himself at the unfortunate man who persisted in his attempted defense of the warehouse and his person, and bring both his knuckles together into a brutal hammer on his head. Feeling the jar of bone on his gloves, the King of Suits winced and rubbed them fervently before ducking through the opened maw of the warehouse, tossing his smoke-clearer card behind himself as he went, the sun's rays sharpening his silhouette in a fashion he would have felt deeply pleased at if he could have seen it. He surveyed the situation before him with as much confidence as he could muster, attempting to project an air of confidence and iron will that he rarely bothered with.
  3. Alright, dispelling the smokescreen and heading inside the warehouse.
  4. Heck, why not? Power Attack time. +4 to DMG -3Atk. Unarmed. Attack roll: 30! Concealment check: 13. DC23 TOU check.
  5. As the bullet whizzed past him, Marceau spun around, throwing the pair of bolas in the direction it had come from...and saw it go well past the hazy outline in the fog. Taking a razor card from his belt, he threw it after the bolas, turning them back on the right track, where they sailed elegantly through the air towards the man's legs. Marceau had to admit, in the middle of a smokescreen with a blazing setting sun casting a shade of red over most everything, and the smell of spent bullets in the air, this was one of the times he deeply hated what he did.
  6. Alright, going to use a pair of bolas on Thug 3 to bring him down. Attack roll: 9, miss by a mile. Moving several feet away from first position. EDIT: Wait NVM. Using a HP to re-roll. Attack roll: 22. Concealment check: 17! DC14 REF save.
  7. Subito's assurance that he really was alright, and could even stand without help, was lost in the dull gurgle of seawater mixed with blood that poured out his mouth. The world was tilting and changing color at an alarming rate as well, so he clung as best he could just to be on the safe side. He wasn't in any danger of drowning, the power granted to him took care of that, and the cold water couldn't hurt him any, but he was still an absolute wreck. His costume was torn and gashed open, deep bruises and the cuts and wounds from the robots(not to mention an ugly lump on the left side of his head) would have been worrying enough without the stream of liquid leaking from between his lips. After several minutes he managed weakly "Thagg yu Fullrum" wincing at the bright lights still harshly illuminating the dock and the golden glow that came from his granted power, adding with much less slurring "For getting me out of the water" placidly observing the approaching emergency vehicles he concluded "Glad you were here, that was way out of my league" staggering to his feet for a moment before simply floating in the air, he saluted her unsteadily "Unless you want me to stick around for something Fulcrum, I'm going to head home. I'll catch it anyhow, don't want everyone knowing what happened because of the 9 o'clock news" he looked at the flagpole still clutched in his hand and suddenly grinned at her "I think I'm gonna like doing this"
  8. Hearing the shot whiz by, and seeing its trail through the think smoke, the King of Suits sprang into action! Charging at the point he determined the shot had come from, he went with a powerful right to where he hoped the stomach was. He hoped the man wasn't wearing armor, mainly because his knuckles were scarred as it was. By sheer luck, he caught the fellow square on the belly, pushing out the air in his lungs and sending him to the ground.
  9. Attacking Thug..2 I suppose: 22. Concealment-puncher: 11, it hits! DC19 TOU check.

  11. Seeing the flash of lightening erupt in the smoke cloud, Marceau waved at Voltage, gesturing broadly at the general vicinity of the roof of the warehouse he perched on, aiming to encourage Voltage to take care of the nefarious business inside. Guessing it would be a good idea to take care of the people who could most quickly leave to get aid, the King of Suits rappelled down the front of the warehouse into the smoke cloud, where he landed with a minimal displacement of the smokescreen. He hesitated only for a few seconds, feeling the air move about him, before suddenly lashing out at a darker patch of smoke than the norm, he smiled in triumph as his fist lashed out at the luckless guard... ...and impacted a hairsbreadth from the vague form of the other man. In the silence that followed he muttered "Blast", readying himself for another attempt.
  12. Subito's arms ached from the strain, he was rattled and filled with unease from the roar of the engine, the distant voices of the crew and Diamond and his ladies. Hearing the new voice after the engine cut he released his hold..and instantly regretted it. His shoulders throbbed from the unaccustomed position they had been held in for hours, his ears were ominously dulled for several minutes after the ride ceased, and he could have sworn he'd seen a shark. Surfacing next to Diego and Kristin, he muttered apologies for his hastiness, and asked quietly "So, what's the plan? Do we scout the place out first, sneak in and figure things out as we go?"
  13. Okay, dropping down off the roof after signaling Voltage to go ahead and take care of whatever's going down inside, using the Grapple Gun's Slow Fall to get to ground safely. Once down, I'm going to attempt to Attack one of the guards Unarmed. Attack roll: 26, that's a hit at the general position Concealed roll: 10, darn.
  14. With a sigh of irritation, the King of Suits whipped out a small smoke bomb from his utility belt and threw it with unerring accuracy at the feet of the men guarding the door, in order to make his next movements without being shot at,though he figured they wouldn't have much chance hitting him anyway seeing as they seemed to only have pistols. Still, he wanted a little assurance, and thus lobbed the gas-exhaling sphere just before he swung onto roof above them. Once there, he calmly got his deck in order; he would have need of it pretty soon it seemed.
  15. Welp, throwing a smoke bomb at the feet of the thugs guarding the door as a Standard Action, and using the old grapple gun to get onto the roof of the warehouse of ill repute as a Move Action. End of turn.
  16. Alright, I take it this is initiative time: 28
  17. "Challenge accepted, friend ninja" declared Subito, a little displeased that the conversation had ceased but always eager to go running off in the direction that seemed best for adventure. Loosening the straps of his backpack to give his arms a little leeway, he took off in a spray of scattered snow, breaking the stillness with a playful roar as he dashed through the trees "C'mon Serge! Don't be scared to fly if you have to, I know I won't!", the laugh that echoed after it showing he wasn't serious in the least, though the numerous times he nearly swam through especially deep drifts collected around the more ancient trees made the option seem all the more attractive. Glancing over at his fellow racer he added "Also: said pizza must be consumed at the family home of the loser, deal?"
  18. "It will certainly give them few avenues of escape besides 'through'" the King of Suits agreed mildly, scanning the front door of the rather autumnal-looking warehouse. "Seeing as you're the one with the electrical powers, I've no issue with you taking down whatever equipment they've got set up" saluting Voltage smartly he added quietly "I wonder why they put guards at the door? All it will likely do in a city like this is attract attention from precisely the people they'd want the most to avoid" shrugging the question off he took off at a run for a warehouse roof he could attack the guards at a better angle from, leaping into space before firing his grapple gun to descend safely, slipping through the darkening shadows until he could climb up it out of sight, the reddening sky doing a lot to make him harder to see, but he wasn't inclined to take any chances with stealth tonight.
  19. Turning on his heel, Marceau bolted off down the street to the north that he had roughly followed to get to the Arc. Racing down the road, he wished he had thought to bring some mystical item that could defend him from the attacks of the physically-powerful enemies that seemed to crop up every time something mystical happened. His legs traveling in a blur to get in position to carry his growing momentum forward, he wondered grimly if it would have even been a good idea to use the Amulet, at the very least the form Gallu would take to attack him might have been softer-skinned than ambulatory statues... Feh, he snarled in his head even if it was, it would also likely be faster and stronger too. Gallu's a demon, what are inviolate laws to creatures like me are vague guidelines to something that that Pushing that aside, he leaned forward, held his arms behind his back, and put that much more strength into getting a distance away from the statues so he could make some kind of plan, the(or so it seemed to him) debacle of the night's encounter with Gallu's servants not really giving him any assurance that he could really do much in this situation. But that was for later, all he could do now was keep running...

Ironclad notices that the humming appears to have multiple origin points, and these points move at around the same speed to maintain the illusion of a single source. It's at a frequency that argues an organic source.
  21. Right. Knowledge(History), DC18, to know all about who Expiostinot was. I'll put up a GM post in a bit, but yes it won't be in a featureless room; it will be a reconstruction of his final defeat in 1971, in the middle of his robotics lair after it had mostly collapsed around him, making it nearly impossible to walk in any direction for more than a few steps before having to clamber over fallen computer banks or masonry. As you'll have time in the lounge to consider, you can take 20 on it.
  22. At the oddly-colored man's assurance, Marceau sighed with relief and returned the card to its deck. Racing across the chill metal roof he launched himself off the edge, landing next to his new acquaintance. Offering his hand and a warm smile, he said cheerily "Pleased to meet you Voltage! As you already know about me, that at least saves me the trouble of explaining myself" he looked thoughtfully over at the warehouse giving off a red light from the reflected rays of the descending sun "So..all I know is that a whole bunch of heavy equipment, much of it to do with putting together electrical devices, has been stolen in recent weeks, and this seems to be where it's all been taken. You know anything else?" he began casually rolling his beard through three metal rings he took from his left hand, casually glancing back at Voltage as he did so.
  23. Okay then, no fancy stuff I could really do that would help, Move All-Out(for 40MPH)down the road. I find it hilarious that in almost every thread KoS has been in he's run from something.
  24. GM The machine bent and crumpled under the heroine's attack, spewing coolant as its fractured body splashed noisily into the harbor, its limbs jerking and flailing as it sank out of sight with a distant *boom!* and gout of water signaling its self-inflicted termination. Clearly whoever used these machines had no wish to allow any whole sections, and only cared enough about their secrets to destroy any who carried them... The final metal terror took stock of the situation, looked at Fulcrum, the debris from its fallen comrades, the gouge in the dock, and the melted hole in the warehouse nearby. Without ceremony it turned and rocketed off towards the northeast. It seemed even it could tell the position it was in was..sub optimal. The approaching sirens of the rapidly approaching emergency vehicles were now much louder, and they could clearly be seen weaving in the direction of the strange battle site.
