  1. <<"Hey!">> Wisp cried as she moved up to the mechanically encased man, <<"Just who the heck are you?" I can see the hammer and sickle still stamped into your shoulder plate. I've heard of a man in Moscow's law enforcement who wore armor such as yours but I had been told by a very reliable source he would never step foot on American soil.">> She cringed as his fist blew open the door before she peered around him and eyed the empty but lavishly furnished living room.
  2. The remaining three mooks looked at how ineffective their weapons had been against the armored Russian and the teleporting teenager before the dropped them and ran from the property as fast as they could. Nikolai allowed them to go, turn towards the house. The servos in the joints of his suit whirred and hummed with each step towards the front door. Rather than knocking or even reaching for the knob he simply clenched a fist and brought it down against the wood, shattering the door into splinters that sprayed across the empty living room.
  3. Wisp glanced over at Sun Wukong. "Now that is an idea I can get behind," she said with a smile. She stepped away to move next to Crow, taking his hand in hers, "This is going to be a rather fun thing to explain to your father when we get back to Boston. I also have to hope that visiting your home and having some sort of unpleasant experience with divine entities doesn't become habbit." Turning back to Guan Yu and Sun Wukong, "So, I imagine we've gotten ourselves to a bit of a draw in the tournament. When's the next one being held?"
  4. Wisp stood with her repacked messenger bag slung across her body. Her teleportation had served her well in getting from Freedom Hall to her home and back in less than twenty minutes. She was anxiously tapping her foot waiting with barely contained excitement and nervousness at the prospect of traveling through space. It was nearly enough to keep the big question of what a Soviet era colony was doing on a planet millions of miles outside of their solar system. And the even bigger question of where everyone went.
  5. Nikolai watched the guards scramble from the teenaged teleporter's attacks before raising his arms once again, his palms glowing before they erupted in a blast of light. The twin beams struck another of Vladimir's hired goons, just after he had escaped a kick from Wisp that would have caught him in the ribs. The last two hired guns leveled their weapons and fired at the man in the armor, their shots bouncing harmlessly off his armor when they even connected in the first place. <<"Last chance, stand down.">>
  6. Wisp charged forward from her cover, flipping over the bullet riddled car she vanished mid-jump but unfortunately for her, the mooks seemed to be expecting her to teleport in and attack them from behind. Each swing of her fists or sweep of her leg she made only connected with empty air as her opponents quickly scrambled to the side and away from where they had been when she had peered at the battlefield. "Damnit, these guys are either really good or I'm getting too predictable," she muttered as she landed back behind the vehicle.
  7. Wisp: 1d20+13=14, miss. Nikolai: 1d20+12=19, mook 2 is hit. -1d20+5=19. -1 for bruise =18, Bruised x2 and dazed. Mooks 5&6: 1d20+4=14, pair of misses.
  8. As Crow peered down the hole, he could see several more blood splatters and claw marks in various positions on or around the steel rungs. Further down was a barely flowing river of stagnant water filled with bits of urban detritus and a great many dead leaves and branches carried in by previous rain storms. Another officer stepped up next to the heroes and the officer with them. After a brief whispered conversation they pulled the flashlights from their belts and handed them to Vector and Netfly. "These will be of more use to you down there than to us up here," the first said.
  9. Wisp eyed Sabot, her hands relaxing and allowing the collected energy to dissipate, "I'm guessing your boss has just decided you and the other mercenaries have just fallen into default on your contract?" Motioning to Myrmidon to back down, "Perhaps we can work out a quick deal? Myrmidon and I will deal with your employer, try and keep her from sinking the ship. While we do that, you get your men together and start using your reshaping power on shipping containers into something that will float instead of sink like a rock. Sound workable?"
  10. Sours was kind enough to set up a Mumble server for the forum to enjoy voice chat. First, download the program from here. Once installed, Address: voice.fcpbp.com port: 63088 Password: Terminus And, you're in.
  11. Glancing at her friend she whispered, "Easy Heraldo. He's looking a bit overwhelmed right about now." Turning her attention back to the stranger, the pressure on her consciousness from a minute ago gone, she nodded, "Like my compatriot said, I can get you over to the school in just a few minutes. I know the campus well and you look like you could use someplace to catch your breath." "My name is Wisp by the way," the white haired teen said with a reassuring smile as she extended a hand to what seemed to be a likely candidate for enrollment at her old high school.
  12. And now the phase begins where Glow and Silver Spider must punch bad people doing bad things. First thing's first, notice checks. 1d20+10=28
  13. Drawing out a low contemplative sound, "I can't say the journals wouldn't be improved with some ads containing Victoria's Secret models in between the papers." "No, Nathan is no ninja. He is however a retired Marine Gunnery Sergeant so really, he's the next best thing," Jen said before chuckling and adding, "And wasn't the driver being a ninja the basis for one of Bruce Lee's earliest roles?" Her attempts to carry the conversation however were immediately cut off from the sound of glass shattering and the roar of an explosion coming from the large front doors of the church. Turning to look, the young women could see several men and women in black gear not dissimilar to SWAT gear grouped on the stairs. Smoke billowing from an explosion blocked much of their sight however.

    Being Yourself(IC)

Vicky looked down at her outfit then back at Serge, "Well, I'd need to run home and grab some different clothes and shoes, what heels and my outfit aren't exactly recommended for basketball. I came right from the 'office' to here and wasn't expecting an impromptu game of half-court." "I would however be happy to keep score and it would be handy for me to sketch some action shots. My stills are pretty good but Fulcrum says my motion panels could use some improving to match," she said, setting her tablet on the arm of the sofa. "That or we hold the game up some twenty minutes while I run home, change, and get back."
  15. Need some clarification, does Improved Throw override the rule of using acrobatics? Because, if not, she'd be using that...
  16. "Hold on, you're going to have to take a minute for the non-aquatic one here. What exactly is the Leviathan? I recall it being mentioned in the Bible but, well, my being Catholic is about as correct as saying that if a cow is born in a tree then it's a bird...," Silver said to the pair of aquatic heroes. "And, given that what I'm able to surmise the Leviathan is, I have a feeling I won't be of much help. At least, not without a little time in my workshop to put together something so I can function in a sub-aquatic environment."
  17. Silver Spider crept along the ceiling, nearly soundless as she moved. Coming up on one corner she saw one of the terrorists peering in some of the doors, apparently looking for anyone they might have missed. The arachnid themed heroine waited for her unsuspecting target to pass before dropping from above to club him simply over the head with a powerful strike. Her blow connected, knocking him to the ground and into unconsciousness. She pulled him into one of the abandoned offices, webbed him to the wall and, like the first one, disassembled his rifle and leaving or breaking several of the important bits of the gun. With her task complete and evidence of the brief combat out of immediate sight, she continued on towards the hostages.
  18. Wisp peered out from behind her cover, quietly impressed by the sword strike of her militaristic minded companion. She ducked back behind cover, not wanting to play her hand too soon. Taking slow, deep breaths she started pulling in power, gathering it into a sphere of crackling blue and black energy the size of a basketball. Calmly she rose from her crouching position, she held the power, barely restrained from flying away from her grasp before she could direct it. Focusing, she reached down to the power well she pulled from for teleportation. In a plume she vanished, reappearing behind Sabot and unleashing the charge into his back, sending stress fractures and impact ripples through his armor.

  20. "Jack, the fact Glow was around has little to with my taking care of a guy hired because he's good at kicking reporters and breaking their cameras," Jen said, her mouth spreading into a smile containing nothing but disdain as she finished. Turning back to the officers, "As for the some kung-fu comment, no. Actually I take Krav Maga lessons. But that's besides the point. Coby and Hank are in the manager's office mid drug deal. I'm fairly certain it would be deriliction of duty if to ignore what a nine-one-one call was placed for." "And even if you focused on this current case, I'm sure you'll want the security footage even with witnesses. I know I do."
  21. Jennifer watched the cops lumber up, inwardly facepalming. I ask for officers qualified for Whiz and Max junkies, instead they send a pair of fat slobs with donut filling on their uniforms, she inwardly grumbled. Standing with her shoulder squared and her back straight, she put on a forced smile for the cops. And then Jackson and the rent-a-though started talking. Next time Jackson, I let the jerk pound your face! "Officers? I'm glad nine-one-one was able to send somebody so quickly. This man here," she pointed towards the barely conscious thug, "Attempted to assault me when I inquired into what kind of 'equipment' his boss, Coby Towers, had in his 'stash' to give him the edge he needed. When he let slip the names of two illegal substances, I mentioned some of the side-effects. This apparently enraged him enough to attempt to kick me. He's in his current position on the floor because I acted in self defense. I will be pressing charges."
  22. "I have the occasional wild weekend," Jennifer said with a faint smile. "And sometime, I just might share that particular tale. As for how often I get into situations requiring self defense, probably too often.". She shrugged before adding, "Dad and made a few enemies while doing the Atom Family-thing, and then of course there's wannabe kidnappers who see me as a target with a dollar sign for a bullseye, though thankfully I have had that problem in years." Jen looked even more embarrassed, "I thought about it but I asked myself, what scientific journal would publish a paper by an underwear model? Their offer was generous but I declined. Several times."
