Vicky winced at Joe's explanation of how he made his helmet. "Ouch. I might heal fast but I still feel the damage. Must be nice shrugging off that kind of damage." Returning Mona's gaze she replied in voice vaguely implying her words came from a song, "Can you show me the world? Shining, shimmering, splendid?" before laughing and saying, "Sorry, sorry. Aladdin was one of my favorite Disney movies as a kid. Seriously though, space is a bit out of my range. I can't even hold my breath for more than a minute or two in the school's pool." "Yeah, I was just up there when one of the maintenance guys came up, mentioned I was the fifth person he'd seen up there that week and showed me where some of the others have stashed their makeshift meeting gear. Last time I was up there I left a six pack of soda and a thank you note in the compartment." Shrugging the teleporter replied to Mona's inquiry about the winged teen, "Nope. She wasn't bitten by a radioactive parrot or anything. When we shared breakout stories, she said she went to bed one night with an itching back and woke up enveloped in her own wings. And don't let the beauty of the wings fool you, I've seen her crack concrete with a well timed snap of one of them."

What besides the case of grenades did Myr and Wisp find? If there's enough goodies to go around, Wisp might well be playing Santa to the guards...

Recalling her friend's warning while they were waiting back in the hall she tried to evade the question, "Some, though the combat classes aren't my favorite course. They also make sure we have a well rounded education so we don't end up living out of a refrigerator box when not punching bad guys in the face." While Subito prodded Serge to go on about the 'resonance suppressor', the young teleporter followed suit with the rest of the people at the table and filled her plate with food. The collection of assorted dishes looked delicious and the first bite of the omelet confirmed her suspicions.

Silver Spider nodded as the plan was laid out, pointing to an air vent she could slip into without being spotted easily. "I can sneak into the ventilation system here. Even if I can't get into the room they're holding the mayor I'll be on the inside. On a side note, once this is over I'd suggest lining the vent system with copious amounts of razor wire so the next group of terrorists can't turn this same trick back on us in the future." Turning to the law enforcement officials, "Is there a radio frequency you guys think I should stick to in case I need to make an emergency call out? Any code phrases worth noting?"

After slipping the green and gold earpiece into her ear Jen pulled her mask, web-launchers, and gloves back on while Ironclad packed herself a small bag. As the pair wear about to leave the building, the arachnid themed heroine nodded her head at a building a few blocks over, "I'll meet you back at the park in a couple minutes. I'd like to pack a bag of my own, extra canisters for the web-shooters and some extra clothes of my own." A few minutes after Ironclad landed, Silver Spider returned with a small black backpack of her own strapped on. While waiting for the Roman general to return, the young woman pulled out her smartphone and began shuffling her business meetings for the next few days to make her absence less pronounced.

Jen had the last car of the wheel's current run to herself. As it rose to the zenith she was able to look out over the immediate area, the various lights of the attractions and crowds milling about, enjoying their summer's end festivities. She was musing about a night out with some of her friends her own age when the screams of Mary and the children a few cars ahead broke her out of her revery. She looked out towards the water and saw what they were screaming for. With what privacy she had, Jennifer pulled her costume on before forcing open the door and jumping onto a support pole and then back onto the top of the car she had just occupied.

1d20+6=13 Mook 1 fails by 12, daze and staggered. Mook 2 is going to take a shot at Voltage, and he fails miserably. Silver however... 1d20+8=25 Mook 2 1d20+1=2 is now bound and helpless.
-
Since Silver's working on them with her on them, she's going to wear the other one. If it becomes necessary for someone else to have it later, she'll hand it over.

Jennifer Owens massaged her temples, willing away the headache that was forming from the stress of her current project not going terribly well. First the rapid prototyping machine broke down halfway through building the shell for the latest lightweight toy the Secret Service wanted. Then after getting it working and taking it down to the company's reenforced testing range, it nearly blew up in her assistant's face. She was reaching for a bottle of water when one of the lab techs shouted that there was a hostage situation at City Hall. Well, at least I can take my frustrations out on somebody that deserves it, she thought. While the rest of her associates gathered around one of the computers to watch a live stream of the events, she slipped out of the room. A few minutes later she had swung her way through the city and ended her trip by landing on top of a SWAT van. Looking down at the officer nearest her perch she nodded, "I came as soon as I saw the report. I'd like to offer any assistance the FCPD might require."

Vicky tried to recall the name of the girl Mona had described, frowning in concentration, "Nicole? We've met, compared notes during study hall a few times. We've saved each other from misremembered dates a couple times on history papers." The younger artist shrugged a little, "True enough. Up on the Centurion's statue there's a handful of those what-a-chairs stashed under a hatch. Like it was installed just for heroes gathering on his head." "Fulcrum Airlines does sound like a solid way to get to various conventions. What's the carry-on limit? And is there an inflight movie?" she asked with a smile touching her eyes. "Seriously though, it beats the bus or Joe and I leap-frogging all the way there. Especially given the calories each of my jumps burns. You've seen the lunches I bring into the office and those small mountains of food are for light days..." Taking her phone back, she nodded, "It is a good costume."

Silver barely had time to react before launching a stream of web, sticking one end to the armor's back. Focusing her mind she made an effort to alter her graviton field and piggy-backing off Ironclad's initial thrust was able to web-swing into the penthouse seconds after the green and gold tenant did. Following behind she had a nagging feeling she'd seen that face before but she could not seem to place it. "Heights don't really bother me," she said with a bit of a smirk in her voice. Pulling off her gloves and web-shooters to keep fingers flexible while she worked she continued, "If you want to scare me, ask me to cook something." Setting the pieces down she debated removing her mask so distorted her vision before pulling it away and running a hand through her mussed hair.
-
Silver looked up as she changed the cartridges on her web shooters and glanced at the arm on Bee Keeper's costume, "Just out of curiosity, what kind of recoil dampening system do you have in that suit? I apologize if I'm out of line but the way you're favoring your arm leaves me to believe it isn't functioning at optimal performance levels. If you'd like, I can take a look." Her attention turned to Starlight before she nodded towards the bound and unconscious Sirocco, "Good thing we have somebody to question. If not the entire plan, certainly shadow-guy's hideout."

Wisp looked over the assembled forces gathered around the armored trucks. Her first instinct, one which she quashed nearly instantly, was to charge in with her favored teleport-takedown maneuver. But roughly two dozen mercenaries armed with assault weapons made her pause. I know I heal fast but don't think I'd be getting up from a head on fight with these odds, she thought. Glancing at her teammate, and the box of goodies she had dropped them on, she spoke in a barely audible whisper, "Strategy always was you and Crow's specialty. You have any ideas for how to handle this?"
-
Vicky allowed some of her accent back into her voice, though she enunciated a little more than she normally made the effort to do. "I do, it's just that I know how thick my accent can get when I get going." She gave a small, if embarrassed shrug, "It's pretty much the only downside to growing up in the kind of bilingual environment that I did." The teleporter chuckled at a memory, "More than half my old school were children of Russian immigrants so most of us spoke the language pretty fluently. It was kind of funny when my old school's girl's soccer team would start a game by standing at complete attention, the couch yelling the usual pre-game stuff and the team calling back, the exchange taking place entirely in Russian. They freaked so many other teams out with that." Looking up as the new member of the Sando clan entered, Vicky smiled and returned the handshake, "Nice to meet you Rodrigo. I'm Victoria Knight."
-
Silver nodded at Ironclad's comments. "I might be able to lend a hand with that Ironclad. While my coding and construction skills aren't enough to slap together a suit like yours or Victory's prosthesis, I should be able to at least assist in the construction step of the translators." As she spoke, she made a conscious effort to keep her right pinky, where her engineer's ring would normally be, from tapping against the plastic cases lining her belt.

I've been having the same thing happen.

Jennifer Owens herded the children from the group home she was chaperoning around the park, letting them enjoy their last few days of summer before school set in for them and work picked up for her. She knew she wouldn't see many of them again for months, some of them might get adopted in the time her schedule tightens and she would likely never see them again. Shrugging off that line of thought she turned towards the other chaperone, an older woman in her early fifties with a matronly face and greying hair, "So, what's next Mary? The closest rides to here are the Ferris Wheel, the bumper cars, and the scrambler." She was looking to gauge the lines for the kids as the half dozen all clambered at once for this ride or that and made the choice, "Okay guys, the Ferris Wheel has the shortest line and the best chance to get everyone on at once. After that, we'll do the scrambler and bumper cars. Sound good?" With minimal complaint she and Mary guided the orphans towards the ride.

If you'd rather have the Spider, an arachnid you shall have.

I'd like to toss Wisp or Silver Spider in if there's room.
-
Wisp shook her head, the man in the armor was right about one thing, the five goons would not be posing a threat for much longer. Vanishing in another cloud of smoke she attacked the remaining upright mooks with powerful punches. Her second target was left groaning in the ground after a particularly precise back-handed swing caught him in the nose, the cartilage snapping with a crunch she hated to admit was fairly satisfying. She returned back behind the car's remains, taking cover behind what had once been the front wheels and engine block.

Wisp attack:1d20+13=26 Mooks save: 18, 9, 14, 25, 23 Mook 2 is dazed and bruised, 3 is down, 4 is dazed and staggered, and 5 and 6 are just bruised. Nikolai's attack: 1d20+12=31 on mook 4 1d20+7=15, and he's down too. Return fire... 2 hits Nikolai, 6 hits Wisp Wisp's save: 1d20+9=16, bruise that regens next round. Nikolai: 1d20+10=23 no damage.

The armored figure lifted his arms, a pair of energy blasts shot from his palms and impacted squarely in the chest of the largest and bulkiest mook on guard. His shirt was ruined and his chest had some minor burns but he otherwise seemed to have survived. He grunted before falling to his knees and then to his side, breathing slowly but steadily. Hearing the girl's ranting he turned slightly to get her into his view, <<"I do apologize but I am on a tight schedule. Besides, these thugs won't be a problem for much longer.">> In answer, the remaining five guards opened fire upon the pair of heroes, each of their bullets either clanging harmlessly off his armor or biting into the ruins of the car.
-
Wisp dove into action but the house's guards were well trained and her various punches and kicks were either intercepted, blocked, or outright dodged. The young teleporter heard a few snide comments from her foes amounting to her needing more practice. Returning to her starting point she was breathing hard and a scowl was plastered across her face. Looking up at the armored figure she barked out in Russian, <<"You couldn't have waited twenty freakin' minutes? My teammates are on the way, we could have done this without giving them a chance to shoot back!">>
