Jen stuck her wallet back into her purse and picked up her bag of workout gear, "Icecream sounds good." Following the Aussie over to the ice cream shop the young scientist recalled one of the recent exploits with her family, "One of the downsides of some of the adventures my father and I have been on. There was this one time in Prague one robotics expert tried to claim he was a descendant of Judah Loew ben Bezalel. His master plan was to make a robot that looked just like the descriptions of the golem of myth. We were asked to verify his claims. I found his workshop, busted him, he ordered the robot to attack me. Dad rigged an electromagnetic trap that fried the bot."

September 18, 11:45pm Silver Spider hung in the shelter of a darkened corner under a warehouse's overhang. Lightning flashed off in the distance, occasionally followed by a low rumble of thunder several seconds later. Tearing her eyes away from the sky she returned to watching the neighboring warehouse where she'd tracked an irregularity in a shipment out of her family's company. The night had been a long, dull one and she was spending half her time clinging to the wall out of easy sight contemplating incorporating some sort of night-vision goggles and binoculars into her mask. Just as she beginning to think maybe the pickup time listed in the email had been wrong, she saw an unmarked white straight truck drive up and back into the loading dock. Well, looks like the show's about to begin, she thought as two men in well tailored suits that would have hidden the shoulder holsters their guns sat in if they'd made even the slightest effort.

Jennifer nodded at Wave-Eye. "Nice to meet you, name's Silver Spider," she replied. When the conversation started getting heated between Ironclad and the Roman general, and the latter reached for her gladius, the young inventor nearly webbed the general's hand and hilt to her side. When the mention of a crooked cross and the armored heroine's holographic display of marching Nazis, her stomach sank. Barely organized white supremacist neo-Nazi thugs where tough enough, but an organized army was sure to be a different level of headache. Before she could think it through, she asked almost on reflex, "How can I help?"

Jen followed Kris closely so she could reply in an equally hushed voice, "See what? Sorry, that one personal bouncer of his looked like he was going to take a swing at me. I've dealt with much bigger and scarier things with my dad but it isn't fun." Setting her stuff down behind Kristin's she pulled out her platinum card. After being rung out she slung the bag full of merchandise over one shoulder, eying the entryway where Jack had had just been shoved a few minutes previous. "I don't see your camera happy buddy, think it's safe try make a break for it?"

Jennifer slipped quietly into the janitor's closet after popping the lock with the strategic use of her university library card. After a quick scan of the narrow storage space, filled nearly top to bottom with cleaning supplies and tools to keep the museum running, to be sure it was empty she started pulling her suit off to reveal her recently made blue and silver costume. After changing and setting her clothes on a clean bit of shelf in the back, moving a box of light bulbs in front of her suit, she opened the door slightly to peer out. Seeing one of the people causing trouble already taken down she remained silent and still, waiting for her opening.

Sorry for holding things up. Yes, the mind shield is what Siphon would have nabbed.

In that case, instead of spraying first and asking questions never, Silver'll just ready herself for when he does something worth being covered Weaponized Epoxy Binding...

She lets her hair hang straight to about shoulder length but when she's in the lab it usually gets tied up in a bun. Her heroic outfit is a silver and blue costume with a web motif across it. History: Jennifer's first year on earth was spent with her mother, living in a one-room apartment in the Fens. Her mother worked two jobs to make ends meet. Their life was difficult given she didn't know who the father of her child was and her parents had died years earlier. Still, Alisha felt all she needed was her daughter and everything would be alright. That dream of hers came to an abrupt end in early fall 1993 when Omega invaded Freedom City. Alisha had been on her way back home with her daughter after a day at the Hanover Zoo when the bus was attacked by Omegadrones. Sierra was stuck near her eye by some of the broken glass as they made their escape. Seeing people dragged away and having caught the attention of one of the drones, Alisha did her best to hide her child in the hollow of a rubble pile before she was dragged away. When Sierra was found, no records of fingerprints could be found and her mother, having no close friends, didn't have anyone who could identify her. She was entered into the system as 'Doe, Jane' and remained there for several weeks before being adopted by Marcus and Karen. Her parents own a powerful and successful company, Owens Enterprises, having contracts with dozens of other companies, law enforcement, government, the military, and more researching everything from medicine to weapons to gravitons and their applications. From a young age Jennifer showed an interest in science and technology. Growing up she routinely won her school's science fairs, as a child she built a robotic cat out of old VCRs and a box of scraps from her dad's company. During the summer break, she'd accompany her father and sometimes her siblings on 'field trips'. By the age of 16 her custom built motorcycle could hover off the ground and had a force field but due to it being horribly fuel inefficient it was mothballed. At 18 she had a near doctorate education in multiple scientific fields and had been inducted into the Order of the Engineer. At 20 she was splitting her working hours in the labs at O.E. and on various field assignments with her father. During the Mutagenic outbreak in March 2012 one of the security guards, Steven Barrett, in her wing of the labs had downloaded an assortment of blueprints and stole a few prototypes from the vault. When she tried to stop him she was blasted by a weaponized graviton emitter into a shelf full of chemicals. After a few days in the hospital she was cleared to go home and resume her routine. The first morning after being released, while practicing her rock climbing for an upcoming field assignment in the Andes in Chile, she jumped to reach one of the higher handholds she liked to use to pull herself up with and ending up clinging to a smooth patch of the wall some fifteen feet up. After an overwhelming mix of fear and excitement ran their course through her mind, she finally dislodged herself several minutes later. Spending the rest of the day experimenting with her new powers she found what she believed to be her limits. Over the next week she learned how to control the power and made a point during this time to tell no one, going so far as to keep her recordings in a plain notebook. Planning to keep her powers a secret, she went about her life until some members of The Brotherhood tried to mug her, using weapons obviously made (poorly) as close to the specs from the stolen blueprints. Using a prototype polymer spray and it's launcher she had signed out to work on at home, she tied up the thugs in what looked like a silver spider's web, destroyed their knockoff-weapons, and made an anonymous phone call to the cops from a payphone. It was there she got the idea to use her abilities and scientific ideas on a more localized level. Personality & Motivation: Jennifer is normally a friendly soul, lots of smile and jokes. Her motivation for going out and fighting crime is based on a mixture of guilt over her failure to keep Steven from making off with a bunch of her family's tech and her having taken the Engineer's Oath to heart. Powers & Tactics: Silver relies heavily on her web launchers as her gravity altering abilities generally aren't very useful in direct conflict. She also relies on her enhanced speed and agility to quickly find an opening to exploit with her enhanced strength or webs. Aside from her metahuman abilities, Jenni is a genius and skilled in my scientific fields. With access to the right tools and materials, she can likely whip up an invention to aid in nearly any situation.

Complications: Enemy: Some of the border patrols around New Freedom were not happy with her and her father's team taking a spacecraft that had crashed close to (but not within) their territory. The leadership might send mercs to take out their frustrations. Fame: Jennifer Owens is fairly famous, being the oldest child of billionaire, genius, adventurer, philanthropists. It can make her civilian identity a target for kidnappers among other things. Secret: Identity. Silver Spider swung through downtown Freedom on ropes of silver-grey synthetic webbing, her patrol taking her within a few blocks of Liberty Park. Or to be more accurate, she never had a chance to get terribly far from it given where her apartment was. A few minutes into her webslinging she noticed a swirling portal off in the middle of the park and immediately altered her course. After landing in and then leaping through the trees faster than the squirrels she had terrified with her entrance, she made one final leap and came down in a three point crouch near the police officers, the armored figures, and what she could only describe as Zoidberg brought to life. "Um, is there a problem here?" she asked in a somewhat flat voice.

Jen had to bite her tongue, not particularly impressed with the first impression she was getting of Coby or his personal guards but being willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. "Thanks," she said to the bodyguard, "Though that might have been a little much. Last thing your boss wants is the assault suit the 'paps' like to file." Mentally shrugging as she drew a blank she looked down at the offered picture all but shoved into her hands. She had to pause for a minute to try and recall if any of the handful of bodyguards her family employed over the years had taken such blunt and flagrant action. Glancing at her companion, she offered Kris the autograph and asked, "Would you like the picture? You seem to be a bigger sports girl than I am."

Step one, change. Step two, ? Step three, web shoot the closest person. 1d20+8=20 Step four, profit.

Jennifer shrugged and smirked, "And you know, given the guy with the giant camera now mostly ignoring us, I'm strangely okay with that actually." Jennifer gave Towers' entourage an appraising eye before saying, "I must admit his P.A. has an excellent suit." I wonder what the odds are she'd be willing to share her tailor's name? she thought to herself. "Oh yeah. With any luck for Hank, Coby is here to do more than drop a few bucks. Maybe even to talk endorsement deal. However, we've got our gloves and a perfect distraction from the paparazzo there. I don't know about you Kristin but I'm not done in here just yet," she said with a friendly smile and the laugh of somebody just itching to push the limit on their credit card.

Kyle shoved his newly stolen toy in one of the spacious pockets of the borrowed duster as he moved forward, the hem of the coat snapping as it trailed him. He noticed idly the small impacts of Catalyst's chemical filled paintballs as they struck the tank's secondary guns even as tried to avoid thinking about how poorly it would end for him if she missed or one of the gunners to notice his movements. Jumping up and scrambling onto the hatch of the lead tank he managed to turn the seal on the hatch. Laying prone he was able to reach down and, with a hand covered in thin silver veins, grab hold of the man who seemed to be Finnigan's second in command.

We'll go with a surge, including HP to negate the fatigue such an act brings about.

"Honestly? Not really but you have to admit that it makes a sad sort of sense. But your theory could be it too," Jenni said with a smile. Reaching up to grab the girl the specified gloves she commented, "Five huh? They must be able to smell fresh meat. I've been coming here for months so must of the staffers know when to take 'no' for an answer." Handing her the gloves the young scientist smiled before quirking an eyebrow at her fellow shopper, "I could ask the same of you." Extending a hand, "My name's Jennifer, Jennifer Owens."

I almost forgot my fatigue roll, 1d20=19. Yay, no grumpy sleep deprived Silver today.

Jennifer moved through the isles, already holding a few new pairs of yoga pants and matching sports bras. She was checking for a pair of gloves to complete the ensemble when she spotted the young girl a few years younger than her standing in front of the display she needed herself. Hearing the girl speak to herself, Jen could detect an Australian accent coloring her words. Stepping up and seeing the gloves in the color she wanted just below the top of the shelf she gave a pleasant nod, "It's a trick to get you to call over a sales representative."

As suggested in Chat, I'll spend the HP. Move action, semi-suicidal charge to the psychic's tank, open the hatch and give the guy a power copying high-five to the face. 1d20+7=26 That's a DC 17 for the fatigue and Siphon snags his mental power...

Jen watched the security guards get taken down in seconds, a feeling of dread forming in her gut. Looking around she spotted a janitor's closet down the hall. Moving quickly she tried to keep to the side and out of immediate notice as she moved at a pace she normally reserved for escaping collapsing tombs or malfunctioning weapons systems. She skidded to a stop before the closet, a gray metal door with black stenciled lettering on a white stripe proclaiming 'Employees Only'. Checking the door, she found it locked. With a sigh she reached into her pocket, looking for something to jimmy the lock.
-
Jennifer adjusted her purse as walked through the Millennium Mall, her attention split between the shopping list she'd made for herself on her smartphone and making sure she does not bump into anyone or miss the store she's looking for. As she moved, she felt her costume, minus the gloves, mask, and web shooters, underneath her blue jeans and oversized t-shirt. She gave herself a mental pat on the back about finally tailoring the outfit into a form fitting but non-movement restricting design. Looking up, she spotted the store she had been looking for. As she entered and was greeted by the staffer she responded to his offer of aid with a polite declining and heading back to the equipment for mixed martial arts training.
-
Jennifer had to make a quick effort of will, altering her personal gravity field to keep from falling as she was shoved. She watched the man reach into the open topped glass display case, crushing the figurine. Putting a hand on her companion's shoulder before she could step any closer, "Yes, somebody should. There's bound to be a security guard around here somewhere. Please do me a favor and get one and bring them back here? I'll keep an eye on him, make sure he doesn't get a chance to run off."
