  1. As their hands clasped, silver tendrils began to spread up Siphon's arm while more moved over the back of Mr. Snake's hand. The rush from Mr. Snake's powers was indeed a fairly painful process. After few second of clenching his teeth however he let out a long slow breath "Okay. Ow. Yeah, that sucked," he muttered. Running his tongue over his teeth he mentally added, 'Good thing this is temporary. My dentist would have some uncomfortable questions.'
  2. Vicky lifted a clenched fist, her lightblue and black energy crackling around it and down her arm almost to her elbow. "That and we've all had a little more training. If Branagh shows up again, he's going to be spitting his teeth out for weeks." Once everyone was assembled and crowded in, she lifted the tablet in one hand and pressed the prompt for it to take the picture.
  3. "You're in luck Mr. Snake. My own gift lends itself to acting as a person's proxy rather well. If you would be so kind as to hold out your right hand, I can give duplicate your gift and make sure the dose of 'Snake's Medicine' is administered to fullest effect," Siphon said. The borrowed duster flapped around his ankles as he stepped forward, his empty right hand extended. "Now, I will warn you that the process may leave you a little tired but you'll still have the abilities," he explained, veins of silver beginning to spread from the palm of his hand to his fingertips.
  4. So yeah, Siphon is holding his hand out. Both to signify a deal to be made and giving Mr. Snake the opportunity to make the final call on power copying. Kinda rude to just grab the guy...
  5. Wisp watched the display and listened carefully before replying in a overly accented tone, "So. We find them, we break them." To accent her point, she cracked her knuckles at nearly the same time as her boyfriend did. Her voice returned to it's normal barely detectable accent as she asked, "I don't suppose you have some sort of rune on that coat for dealing with Lovecraftian horrors? Or other such abominations crawling out of the sea?"
  6. "Should be, to quote everyone's favorite kleptomaniacal robot, 'fun on a bun'," Vicky replied, "And trust me, that pizza is beyond epic, just wish it came in deep dish," she started before catching sight of an all you can eat option she smirked. "Found my lunch," she said pointing to the option. "They're going pretty well. I'll admit, we've made use of your absence from the room a few times for late night movies," she answered. "Thank God for Netflix, no risk of psychos wiring explosives to the door unlike that last time we tried for a movie."
  7. Looking over the menu made a contemplative sound, "Well, I would have to suggest the buffalo wing pizza if you're looking for something with some heat. If you ever feel yourself getting a stuffed nose, order one of those and it'll clear up in a couple slices." The white-haired teen smiled warmly, "Sounds like fun. We'll have to make some time for that. Or if you'd rather, there's always workout buddies. I find they're more fun when I have somebody to suffer with."
  8. "If you're as handy with a sewing machine as you are at being sneaky, I'll definitely call on you to see about a suit or two," Vicky said. "I admit, it's a little '28 Days Later', him just wandering into a decent sized town without being accosted by the undead or running across some survivors, but I liked the idea plus I got to draw some scenery gorn. The further into town he rides, more of a sense of unease and dread I tried to impart to the surroundings. The little details like bullet holes, trash, blood, and all that." "I didn't really pick a cause, just the set of rules I'll be adhering to with the story. Romero never really explained why his zombies came back from the grave either," she answered, "Which is why I didn't feel a pressing need to pick an origin for their condition." Watching Mona for a second Vicky replied dryly, "The best title for a wild west zombie story I came up with was Dead Noon. I'm pretty sure I don't qualify for naming anything." After a minute's pause she shrugged, "If pressed, I'd guess 'Archimediate Entertainment' could work."
  9. "Yeah, I can see that. Doubt you want to end up on YouTube again," the snow-haired teleporter whispered as she dropped to the fake pavement from the car's roof. Placing her hand on Kristin's shoulder she continued in the same hushed tone, "Let's find someplace more private to let you change." Looking over her shoulder to make sure nobody was looking in their direction she teleported herself and the Aussie to a floor in the middle of the building. A few minutes later Wisp and Glow, in full costume reappear in a cloud of white and scarlet smoke a few steps away from Revenant and Synth.
  10. Vicky nodded, "I'm sure there are plenty of recent start-ups looking for a place to call home." Taking the offered coffee she took a sip before glancing over at Fulcrum, "I'm curious, do you have any webcomic artists lined up to either move their series to your webspace or have their stuff printed here?" "What it says to me is you're a loving parent," the teen supplied. "That would be Wayne Kurtis. The idea is he's a prospector returning to the nearest settlement for some extra supplies to take back to his camp. Rides in, gets attacked by the outbreak in progress," the young artist explained. The young interviewee had to visibly stop herself from jumping backwards when Carrie made her presence known, her chair still slid back along the floor. Taking a second to compose herself she slid back up to the table. "She has a point about the rooftops Lou, this is Freedom afterall. We live in a weirdness magnet."
  11. "It's a long story. The short version is I went out on a late night patrol on my own when dealing with some insomnia, got ambushed and neck deep in an illusionary scene. One of Morgan's enemies taunted him, he grabbed Brian and John, got me back. Explosions ensued on the way out," Vicky explained as she set up the picture. When Morgan selected his seat, she took a seat in his lap before configuring the camera.
  12. The roar of the spectral lion left Vicky a little uneasy as she looked upon the show's interruption. He didn't look particularly imposing and she focused on that as she focused through the attempted assault on her mind. Wisp watched as Zodiacus hefted the fortune teller and flung him towards the rafters. Okay, little guy, lots strength, Wisp mentally groused to herself before she let her scarlet eyes track William's path. In a plume of her red and white smoke, she vanished from where she had been seated with Glowstar, reappeared in midair to catch William, and teleported them both to a recently vacated section of showroom. Giving him a slight shove she said, "Get out of here. Call the police, tell them what's going on." When he stood still for a minute she all but shouted, "GO!"
  13. Well, he might have come off as a bit of an egotistical braggart and spotlight hound but, it's bad form for a teleporter to let him fall 30ft. Wisp'll spend her round by teleporting over, grabbing him, and setting him back to flee with the rest of the crowd.
  14. Wisp stood back from the crowd, almost expecting another robot like the first to come rolling up out of the shadows of the garage. She didn't think it was likely given Jubatus had just gone down there but she'd learned the hard way from her time in the Doom Room that unlikely was not even close to impossible. Climbing atop one of the cars she tried to better examine the skyline and surrounding area. When Kristin walked over, her eyes darted to her friend before crouching. She listened before replying in a hushed tone of her own, "I've got one or two. Did you happen to bring your costume with you?"
  15. [Revenant] The crowd calmed with remarkable speed for the circumstances they currently faced. The spokeswoman stepped forward, hand outstretched to the (much) older woman. "Thank you," she said before addressing the other heroes on the rooftop, "Thank you all." [Jubatus] The small light on the collection of C4 blocks blinked a few times as the world's fastest cheetah placed his improvised white-noise generator by the receiver. While this was not the only collection of explosives on this level, wires stretched from the pillar the main body of explosives were strapped to out to other similarly constructed collections, it seemed the only one with a radio receiver.

Feb 14, 2012 Went on a short patrol tonight, mostly because the damned hunger was driving me mad. I couldn't sleep, I could barely think straight. I didn't have to go very far before I found some of the trouble I had been looking for. In one of the alleyways around my neighborhood I found a guy who had harassing an old lady. Doing my best to keep quiet I snuck up behind the man who, upon closer examination has the look of a MAX junkie. Thinking quickly I ripped the black leather glove off my rapidly silvering right hand and slapped it onto the thug's neck. I eased the suddenly unconscious mugger to the ground, the silvering of my hand slowly crawling up my arm. The rush as a metahuman, even a temporarily and artificially made, power rushed up my arm was intense beyond describing. The closest I can come is like stepping into a steaming shower after a long morning shoveling the driveway. After a few second I blinked my eyes back into focus, returned the old lady her purse. She promptly ran off after a whispered thanks. Some Valentine's Day.

  18. "Part of the story came from one of my old gamer group's campaigns. We'd just picked up All Flesh Must Be Eaten and while Frank, our group's primary game master, was looking through his copy for ideas his phone went off. The ringtone was The Ecstasy of Gold and it just clicked for me," Vicky explain. The white haired teen tried to hide her blush and pleasure at Lou's compliment. She glanced at the page he was on, a full page of her protagonist, a scruffy man a torn and blood speckled duster and trail dust covered clothes holding a Peacemaker in one hand and a lit bundle of dynamite in the other in mid throw as desiccated arms reached for him. "Thank you, that particular splash took the better part of a weekend to get just the way I wanted it." "Probably a good deal, I mean look at the webcomics community. Many are self taught but I will admit for every one gem there's about twenty more that are blatant copies or are just terrible," she commented.
  19. "I'll go with the some straight black coffee. Smells like a fresh pot's on and it smells divine," Vicky replied, her eyes darting to the source of the scent. What she found was a collection of coffee tins and blank white mugs around a Keurig on a small table. "Oh, even better, dad has one of those at his office. The rest of his co-workers made it an initiation ritual to bring in a mug or two from home." "I might have a couple of those issues. Would you mind if I brought a couple in for you to sign? Last comic convention your line was almost out the door. Couldn't even see your table from the end of it," she replied with a smile. At Fulcrum's invitation she returned the wink before she slid the binder towards the pair of giants. "Dead Noon was the first title I came up with that wasn't completely terrible. I have some ideas for a sequel actually, I just haven't had much time to focus on it."
  20. Plan B is his best bet. IC-it when you're ready.
  21. Vicky turned to Brian. "Yeah, and my dad's a retired CIA operative too. Thinking too hard on my family makes me feel like something out of a James Bond film. But, no. The Irregulars is a good name for our merry little band of dysfunction," she commented with an easy smile. An idea sparked in her mind and in seconds she was pulling out her tablet, the screen already lighting as it powered up. "Well, now that we've got the band back together, anyone for a group photo?"
  22. Vicky followed her mentor and her teammates into the gym, a pleased smile on her face at the reaction of everyone to Fulcrum's presence. She adjusted the bag that contained her books and the clean gym clothes she'd packed for today. "I had thought about warning them but I thought it'd be more fun to see the others speechless for once," she said with a small laugh. When Mona asked her question, the white haired teleporter held her tongue and let the others answer. She'd already made plenty of comments to the giantess at the office when turning in comics.
