Description: Victoria is a shy and modest girl, despite her undeniably pretty face and developed curves. She keeps her long hair, recently turned white from her powers emerging, in a braid and her red eyes show glints of the sharp mind behind them. Power Descriptions: Wisp's teleporting leaves a small cloud of red and white smoke in her place and another around her when she arrives. Her recently discovered energy blasts come in the form of light blue crackling energy with randomly appearing black streaks. History: Victoria Anastasia Knight is the only child of Johnathan and Natasha Knight. John was a CIA operative during the Cold War while Natasha was a Soviet double-agent, feeding the Americans intel from the KGB. Both had participated in their nation's super-soldier serum. John's was a variant on the serum The Patriot was given that, instead of making a man into the peak of humanity, granted him two powers that would aid greatly in espionage and assassination, invisibility and teleportation. Natasha's however, due to the Soviet Union's crippled financial condition and their war in Afghanistan, used a serum left-over from The Great Patriotic War, a serum based on blood samples taken from Superior found in a captured Nazi lab. She was the best qualified person who volunteered for the test. It left her with super-human strength and abilities of the Ultiman, if to a limited degree, some of which (such as the energy blasts) she had better control than others. Her commanders assigned her mostly to body guarding and espionage missions. Her mother and father ran into each other multiple times over the years where, after years of romancing and convincing, she eventually began feeding intel to the Americans and giving false information to her own people. In the late '80s, she defected West and assumed a new life in America with John. As a child Vicky, named after her paternal grandmother, learned as much as she could from her parents, in case any old enemies showed up (obviously, they didn't tell her that last part). The result however left her less than outgoing, thus her reclusive personality, retreating into Sci-Fi and Fantasy of all sorts. Before her powers manifested, she might have been well on her way to a life locked in her home with few friends or outside contact. When her powers did emerge, they did so in a way that pretty much destroyed a chance at keeping them secret. The local cheerleaders, most of whom had tormented Vicky for openly reading books like World War Z and Mistborn, though mainly because she read the Russian language versions of those books, had cornered her and were about to spray paint her and her backpack again. As the head cheerleader moved in with the can of purple spray paint aimed at Vicky's face, her fear and anger caused her to teleport behind her and before she knew what she was doing she had laid out the squad. More amazing to her was that the scrapes and bruises on her knuckles from where she'd punched the girls healed before for her stunned eyes. The next few weeks were, tense to say the least. Her parents were less than pleased she'd been suspended for the incident. The principal had always been one to side with the cheer squad, since their parents usually donated the most, so when Vicky was found standing over the group of girls groaning in pain, she was removed from the school. When the representative from Claremont Academy came and offered her a place to attend class with other meta-humans, to practice with and gain full control of her powers. She and her parents agreed this was an excellent idea and they began preparations for the move. Upon seeing the campus she was hooked. Seeing it as a chance to start over, and with that in mind she made a concentrated effort to come out of the shell she'd built around herself. Taking up the mask she wears now, she picked a codename that focused on the stealth training and puffs of smoke her teleportation leaves and thus Wisp was born. Personality & Motivation: Bullied and abused by those with more power, be it physical or social, Vicky has sworn a personal oath to use her powers responsibly, helping those who can't help themselves. Powers & Tactics: Wisp's strength is in the range of the pinnacle of what a normal human is capable of and between her stealth and high mobility she has little trouble leading a charge. She's not afraid to go toe to toe with anyone, knowing she'll heal quickly. Complications: Dark Legacy: Her super-strength and energy blasts come from a super-serum using genetic material taken from a Nazi war criminal and foe of the Centurion. Enemy: Brannagh and his boss might be a tad angry from the result of her first "visit" to their realm. Family: She loves her parents and would do almost anything for them. In Soviet Russia...: Her Russian heritage has caused trouble with people who just can't let the Cold War go. Secret (Identity): The fact she feels much more confident while behind the mask means Vicky will go to great lengths to keep her nightly activities a secret. Spy Kid: Her parents are both retired spies and have made enemies. Said enemies may come looking for revenge. Wisp eyed Crow and his comment of stories of the Cthulhu being good bedtime reading. Then again, for her good bedtime reading involved lightsabers and planet destroying space ships so she couldn't really throw stones about unusual literary choices. From her spot on the wall she spoke up, "Personally, I haven't really read much of the Lovecraftian line so I'm working in the dark. Any light you can she on the subject would be most appreciated."

Jube> As you run around the miniature setting you don't get very far before you start seeing the roads filling with motorcycles ridden by male and female action figures in police uniforms. If you want to look around I'll need a stealth roll. You do however find the miniature bomb in the lowest level of the parking garage you were on. If you'd like to make a disable device check, feel free.

The Jade Arenas of Heaven: Shock the Monkey [IC]
Azuth65 replied to trollthumper's topic in The Realms Beyond
Wisp eyed the Yau-gui elephant, her fists balled into fists to disguise her mild fear. Okay Vicky, you've got a giant angry elephant demon in front of you. Show no fear, there'll be time to panic when you get back to New Jersey, she thought to herself. She spotted the green and gold armor of Ironclad and traced the blast that emanated from the woman's wrist. As soon as it impacted the white haired teleporter sprang into action. In a cloud of crimson and snowy smoke she threw a flurry of kicks and punches at her opponent. When she was done she reappeared where she started, her knuckles stinging from impacting such strong hide while the demon seemed unphased. -
Jube> has indeed found himself a transmitter in the remains. The signal seems to be coming from the western end of the map, He can't pinpoint it but maybe if he gets closer?

The Jade Arenas of Heaven: Shock the Monkey [OOC]
Azuth65 replied to trollthumper's topic in Archives
Wisp vs Yaogui = 1d20+13=24. It's been awhile but that's a base DC of 22 up to 25 depending on how much over his defense that is... -
Taking the offered seat Vicky had no trouble keeping the genuine smile, "Freaked me out, No Mr. Ross. Just wasn't expecting to see anyone taller than our Fulcrum. Obviously, you haven't seen my high school. Though, the four armed guy in my Home Ec. class is blue." Removing her sunglasses and setting them on the table she met Lou's eyes, "I've had a few people accuse me of being possessed given my eyes. It gets old quick, doesn't it?" "So then," Vicky said as she unzipped the case and withdrew her tablet computer first as well as a small binder filled with some of her work, "On the computer is pretty much all my recent work. This binder is my wild west set zombie graphic novel. I also have a collection of science fiction and fantasy pieces. Right now though, those are only about half done and most of the sci-fi stuff is admittedly probably a bit too derivative to publish without risk of rousing the anger and legal representatives of Mr. Lucas or Mr. Rodenberry's estate."

"Well, the principal wasn't very subtle in his favoritism towards the cheer squad. I think it has something to do with most of the girls on said squad had very rich parents who would cease making donations to the school if nothing was done after I snapped. I mean, a couple of them had broken jaws it turns out," she explained before heaving a sigh, "I'm not exactly proud of it but it happened." "No, afraid not. I'm half expecting something in the visual end to come along given the change to my eyes but neither of my parents ever mentioned heightened senses."

Sitting on the roof of the gym, Vicky was hard at work writing a paper for her history class on the metahumans of the second world war. The parts involving Ubermench left her feeling more than a little uncomfortable. How wonderful it is having this monster's genes in me, she mentally grumbled as she read from her text book and wrote out her notes for the actual paper proper. A few minutes into reading about Tank and Gunner she heard the wind rustle and looked up to see Mona descend towards the main entrance. Closing her book and notebook she shoved them into her bag and vanished from the roof, leaving only quickly dissipating smoke in her wake. "Hey Fulcrum," Vicky said with a big smile as she reappeared a few feet away from the gentle giantess, "Thanks again for coming."
-
Vicky finished her meal quickly as the conversation wound down and plans to bring Kristin into a training session were started. Sticking the fortune cookies in her bag for later she piled the rest of her trash onto the tray before walking over, dumping it in the bin and placing the tray on the pile on top. As she walked away she made a mental note to pick up a pair of reusable chopsticks rather than waste the disposable ones. Following the rest of the group, she looked over the menu, "I think I'm going to go with Etain and roll with a vanilla soft serve myself. Makes for an excellent ending to a fine meal."
-
Vicky turned the door knob after Mona's voice came through the device. As soon as she entered the scent of fresh brewed coffee assaulted her senses, the caffeine already buzzing her and she hadn't even tasted a cup. Walking in the carefully guided her portfolio to avoid bumping into anything as she quickly found the woman who, with any luck, would be setting her up with a job once she was out of school. "Good afternoon Mo-," she started but as she stepped up she was taken aback by the man next to Fulcrum. Looking up at what she could only call a nine foot tall, four armed, red skinned demon her steps faltered before calming herself. Holding out a hand, she put on a friendly smile. "Sorry, didn't think I'd be seeing anyone else who'd make me feel fun-sized today. My name's Vicky, nice to make your acquaintance."
-
Um, yeah. Combat's over. What do you guys do?

Wisp sez: I call Moscow!
-
Vicky eased Morgan back to his feet after John and Brian finished speaking. Â Her tone showed she was a little nervous, "Well, since we're revealing our dark secrets... Â I guess now is as good a time as any to admit my own energy blasts and super-strength are a result of a KGB backed experiment my mother was involved in. Â The end result altered her DNA and has effectively made her biologically Superior's daughter." She let that sink in for a second before putting a reassuring hand on John's shoulder, "Your secret is safe with me John." "Both of you, it's not where your powers come but what you do with them that matters."
-
"That would be greatly appreciated. And mad science cooking, sounds like something out of a Girl Genius strip," she said with a smile. "Yeah, my breakout occurred a few months after that. This one heroine, Bulwark, I met during the time between being expelled from the events of my breakout and coming to Claremont told me it was pretty awesome." Cracking her knuckles she kept her eyes skyward, "Might be best if we stay until the weight comes back, or we make sure it crashes into the moon. Either way, I'd rather not see if come back down and ruin somebody's day."
-
Vicky looked up into the tree and saw her boyfriend, her face splitting into a massive smile before she vanished in a cloud of crimson and white smoke, reappearing in another such cloud in front of Morgan. She grabbed the lapels of his tattered coat and pulled him into a kiss. When they broke for air she looked him dead in the eye and said in a low voice, "God I've missed you." A few seconds later they were back on the ground, Vicky carrying the runemaster in her arms and showing all the strain of holding a gallon of milk.
-
Vicky shrugged, "Nothing in particular. I'm just a little cold and kinda bored out here." She was a little surprised about an impromptu revelation being added onto the lunch agenda but she figured it was something it was something serious. She was about to comment when Brian walked up to join them. "Hey Brian. Nothing much, I was just about to head into the admin building with John to warm up while he spoke with Mr. Summers," she answered before holding her cupped hands to her mouth and blowing into them.
-
Wisp inwardly grimaced when William came over and start posturing for the cameras. However, she put on her friendliest face and shook the magician's hand. "I do what I can, my teammate and I were just in the right place at the right time tonight." She smiled as Glowstar landed nearby, "Seems we've been invited to William's show for tonight," she said before they found themselves being ushered towards the front door of the Golden Calf. As much as she wanted to get home, grab a shower and study for her history test on Monday she knew leaving now would be a public relations nightmare.
-
Victoria Knight sat on the bus, dressed in a grey business suit she'd borrowed from her mother. Her black and red eyes safely hidden behind a pair of sunglasses with her hair tied up in a bun. She figured that while she had a previous relationship with Mona, she should make the attempt at professionalism when pitching her works. A few minutes after her stop she was adjusting her grip on her portfolio as she walked the last few steps to Mona's office door. Okay, no pressure. Worst case, she hates your stuff and... you need to stop worrying, she thought to herself. Taking a deep breath she reached over and pressed the intercom buzzer.
-
"Waaay too soon to be considering kids," Vicky said with a bit of exaggerated fear in her voice at the prospect. "But I recall hearing about a couple back in Chicago, Ace and Sapphire Spirit, having a small ceremony where most of the hero community was invited. By all reports, it was pretty awesome." At Fulcrum's comment on making her mixture taste better the teen nearly hugged the giantess. "Oh sweet baby Jesus thank you! You have no idea how horrible this mix is." "I think it might be worth a try. As for how far I could chuck one of these weights, let's find out!" she replied, giving a quick look into the clear sky before hurling the ball skyward with a speed comparable Rick Vaughn's fastball.
-
Wisp followed the other Freedonians into The Temple. Sensing the shift in her boyfriend's body language she took his hand in hers, giving it a reassuring squeeze. When he looked over she gave him a quick wink as they walked into the library. The heroes assembled, well she frankly didn't recognize any of them but being as she grew up several hundred miles away, she didn't expect they'd recognize the local heroes of Chicago. No chairs were offered at the table so the snow-haired teleporter simply leaned against an unoccupied space on the wall, "Hey. How can we be of assistance?"

Vicky sat under the tree, tablet computer and stylus hard at work as she worked on one of her graphic novels. As she worked she found herself hardly noticing the winter chill in the air, getting lost in the page she was coloring. When her stomach growled for the fifth time she looked from her project to the clock. Noticing the time, she saved and shut down the computer. Just as she put her equipment away she saw John walking briskly towards the administration building, a folder tucked under one arm. Slinging her bag over her should she waved and called out, "Hey John!"
-
Vicky gave her own slight smile at John's description of her combat abilities. "I never got much of an opportunity to cut loose back home but I've been given instruction almost since I could walk," she said before adding with a sigh, "It's a long story I would rather not get into in public." The snow haired teen turn her sunglasses covered eyes towards Kristin, "How's that old saying go, 'pain is weakness leaving the body'? I prefer, 'the more you sweat in practice the less you bleed in battle'." To Etain she commented, "Sometime I need to bring some of my story notes and design sketches by to have you look over, see how off my character's swordplay is."
