Vicky nodded to the nurse and stepped over to Gwen. "You heard her Gwen, you're down for the day. Let's get you back to your room," the young teleporter said before picking the chloropath up as if she was no more cumbersome than a basket of laundry. At the girl's sudden surge of energy into her expression, all in the form of pure terror she shook her head. "No, given your condition and your... well abject fear of my teleports I'm not going to try it. However, you aren't walking back either." Once they'd gotten Gwen settled into bed back at her dorm room, Vicky patted the other girl's shoulder. "Wait here, I'll be right back with a couple bottles of Gatorade and a bunch of pizza." About five minutes later, she had informed the rest of the crew what was going on and how Gwen was to take it extremely easy for the next day or so before returning with the promised sustenance. "Drink up, Corbin seems to have the foreman duties covered for now. For now, you're on bedrest. If in half an hour you feel better, you can come back out and keep an eye on things," Vicky ordered, her voice carrying almost as much authority as Nurse Joy's had.

Again, if there's room, I'd throw Wisp in. Never hurts having somebody around who can move three football fields in a couple seconds. That and she can bench press a locomotive...

Vicky reappeared in her usual smokey cloud just down the hall from the nurse's office. Thankfully the hallway was completely empty as she walked the last few yards to the office. She knocked on the door before opening it and walking into the waiting area of Nurse Agetha Joy. As she stepped in, she felt a minor disturbance similar to Crow's coat teleporting him away. Shrugging it off she stood by the desk, "Nurse Joy? Uh, hi. Morgan Crowe just dropped a student off, Corbin Hughes asked me to check in on her."

After the remaining museum employees and civilians had escaped unmolested by the living artwork, Vicky focused her will and a cloud of smoke surrounded her. When it dissipated in her place stood a fully costumed Wisp, her red eyes narrowed. "No, I rather think not," she said to the aged Frenchman. She strode forward through the chaos of swordsmen clad in shining armor fighting with tentacled bio-tech monsters while elven archers shot arrows at human space-marines armed with blaster rifles. Once she stood before the blond child she looked down at the boy and in a heavily Russian-accented voice said, "Hey. Put the art back. Now."
-
Vicky shook the blurriness from her vision. Nodding she said, "Sounds like a good plan. I learned a neat trick for dealing with things like this but it wears me out like you wouldn't believe. Was hoping to avoid using it honestly." Vicky braced herself as best she could, her head still ached and left her momentarily dizzy. Wiping blood from her lip, her eyes narrowed. "Oh yeah, I'm going to enjoy this. When we're done with those bots, think we can keep the remains? I have an idea for a sculpture..."

At the posture Morgan assumed she winced inwardly. "I never should have dragged you to the anime club's showing of Evangelion. I do hope some of the better shows have rubbed off as much as that one did." Vicky leaned forward, "If it's all the same as team's resident dice-jockey, I'd like to give them the roll." A part of her had wanted to keep silent, letting his girlfriend have the dubious honor may have seemed like a weird sort of nepotism. Another part of her wished she'd worn her favorite game-night shirt and a pair of jeans that morning.

Okay, people are panicking but the paintings-come-to-life aren't messing with them. Quirk hasn't taken not of Rene or Vicky yet but that can change quickly...

"Thank you for your time Mr. Crux," the young woman said, shaking the man's hand, making very sure to keep her strength in check. As she and Rene left the man's office they passed a young blond boy in blue jeans and a purple shirt with a large Q on it. The child was staring at a painting of a spaceship hovering over a city, a blue beam radiating down from the underside and the city covered in ice. In a loud voice the child said clearly, "This is boooooring. The pictures don't even move." With a snap of his fingers, several pieces of art jumped to life. An eight foot tall, four-armed orc dressed in brown pants and a green dragonscale coat stepped out of a painting and almost immediately was attacked by a woman holding a [url= small pistol that gave the impression of being extremely deadly. As other pieces came to life, the museum patrons scurried and ran for the exits.

Wisp tried to dodge but her opponent had been expecting such a counter-maneuver and mid-swing corrected it's aim. In the end, she took the power-knuckle enhanced swing right to the face. While she was fairly sure it didn't break her nose, she could tell it was bleeding. Her vision had gone white with pain and she was nearly knocked off her feet. "Okay... Ow," she grunted through the pain. Note to self, work on rolling with punches, she thought to herself as she backpedaled away from the robot.

Vicky popped into the room next to Morgan and before she'd noticed Etain, leaned down and kissed him square on the mouth. A minute later she stood back up and finally noticed Etain. "Um, sorry. Didn't see you there. Nice outfit, very Steampunk-y," Vicky said, her eyes scanning the other girl's appearance. To Morgan she said before moving to lean against an empty bit of wall, "So, what's the plan? I'm guessing this isn't exactly going to be a milk run." She might not have looked it, given she was wearing a black skirt and white blouse, but she had come prepared. In the messenger bag strapped across her body set a new costume she'd been working on for a few days. Inwardly, she was excited to try it out without any hyper-vocal critics from the press.

"Mostly it's the classic pen and paper role-playing games. We tend to fluctuate between Dungeons and Dragons, GURPS, Star Wars and World of Darkness," she answered tossing the quarter-ton objects and catching them as if they weighed no more than a common baseball. "Also, some of the guys have been helping me with my poker skills so if you guys want to have another go, I'll bring the feast of pizza and a couple bulk packages of candy to bet with." Vicky could all but see the question on Fulcrum's tongue, "Back in Chicago, I was the easy target for bullies. Geek, bi, anti-social, and more than a little bit of a loudmouth. I've tried to change those last two here, I think it's gone pretty well so far. But yeah, the change hasn't been particularly easy, so glad I got the stupid energy blasts under control before I lost more sketchbooks and skirts." The last sentence was half muttered before she brightened a little, "Junior year this fall." "So, I didn't have a chance to ask last time we met up, what with that five-hundred pound crystal and the questions and questions from the guys at ASTRO, how'd Grim's wedding go?"
-
Vicky raised an eyebrow wondering how Jeena knew but rather than waste time, took the girl at her word. She handed the other girl the pizza boxes, which now looked like postage stamps in her hands and vanished in a small cloud of smoke. She reappeared and stepped between the two boys after she saw they were ready to come to blows. "Gentlemen..., what seems to be the problem?" After hearing Zach's comment she pinched the bridge of her nose, like she was trying to stop a headache from forming. "You're both right. Yes, Zach, Gwen could have certainly used some water, and it may have just been simple dehydration. But Brian was right to get her to the nurse in case it was something more severe." Her voice became a bit harder as she spoke her next sentence, "Now, both of you, throttle back on the testosterone! Before I make you both walk an extra football field to get to the office." She was about to offer them both a lift when Corbin's voice rang out, his usual warmth devoid from the words. Suddenly with the wind taken out of her own sails, she nodded and said, "Back in a minute."
-
Yeah, Vicky's going to send both Brian and Zach a couple hundred feet away from each other.

"I don't know about outlets but I know a place nearby most of the student body has gone to for stuff," Vicky said. "Maybe next week we can gather up Gwen and possibly my roommate, Janis, for a girl's night out of shopping." While they were talking by the gate, a beat up late '90s car pulled up to the gate, the delivery boy loaded down with boxes. The girls thanked him and watched him pull away before turning back with the food in hand. "This is good, aside from the skirt, there are a few other clothing items I'd like to pick up, not all of which I can order online like I usually do."

The shark-man tried to wriggle free from the heroine's slender yet incredibly strong arms. When she pulled him back in, she gave his shoulders a very painful jerk. He seemed to have been able to roll with it though and what should have been a painful but no-lethal pop of the shoulder dislocating was just a simple gurgling grunt of discomfort. "Hey, anyone want to give me a hand with this guy? He smells like an anchovy's ass and I would really rather not keep this up any longer than I have to," she called over to her companions.

Wisp's going to use the damage option of the grapple rules now that she's got shark-boy's attention. No roll so, DC 22 toughness please.

Vicky empathized with the young woman about the loss of her hard work, though she wondered why she would have had to been ready to move at a moment's notice. "It probably isn't my place to ask, but why did you need to be so mobile? As for losing your work, when my energy blasts started, I lost a couple week's worth of sketches and brainstorming ideas. An unexpected burst of energy vaporized the book I was drawing on and the pencil I was holding. The skirt I was wearing at the time was ruined too." Vicky had an idea that might cheer the size-shifter up, "After we're done with the greenhouse, maybe we can swing over to the art department and get you some starter supplies. After that, I'll show you one of my favorite places to sit back and draw during the summer."
-
As the shark ran past her, Wisp's arm shot out like an arrow from a bow and latched on to the shark-man's tail and yanked him back. When his head came around to snap at her arm with it's mouth full of a gratuitous amount of wickedly sharp teeth she yanked again, pulling him closer before sliding her arms around the beast's neck and holding him in a painful looking full-nelson. With a quick sweep of her feet she took his legs out from under him before forcing him face first into the ground. "Eh, he's not an eel but I'm seeing why the phrase about holding one is popular," she muttered as the shark tried to escape.

"I'm reasonably sure he is into girls. I mean I haven't caught him trying to sneak into the girls' locker room or showers or anything but you have a point. He's almost too polite, that's part of his charm, but it does making picking up singles difficult. I will admit, my ex-girlfriend complained I didn't have any sort of obvious signs of being into guys or girls before finally cornering me and being rather blunt about the question," Vicky babbled. "Sorry, off topic. And I'm sorry if my outing of myself makes you uncomfortable... I know some people get one of two reactions, 'aw dude, sweet, can I watch?' or '...is she hitting on me?'" At Jeena's questions on the art club she brightened, "A little of all three. Usually we pick a project to do over the week, show it off next meeting, and have discussions on techniques, computer programs, materials, etc. I suddenly wish I'd brought my sketchpad, I could show you some of the stuff I've shared."

The Jade Arenas of Heaven: Shock the Monkey [IC]
Azuth65 replied to trollthumper's topic in The Realms Beyond
Wisp teleported around the arena, each one leaving a puff of crimson and snowy smoke behind her. As she reached the top she could see considerably more, including what looked like hundreds, possibly thousands of Yao-gui attacking stewards and guards in small pockets. Landing again she turned towards Morgan. "Hey, listen," she called and inwardly cringed for a second remembering the noise of the faeries from The Legend of Zelda, "There's a small army of creepy fallen man-beasts out there attacking Tian. If you have any ideas, now might be a good time to share with the class." -
As the shark lunged for her, Vicky dodged easily with a sideways one-handed cartwheel, her free hand grabbing the strap of her bag, before vanishing in a plume of her usual smoke. Reappearing in the tree a few limbs above Gwen she focused her mind and suddenly the clothes in her bag and the clothes she wore changed places. The process was all but instantaneous allowing nobody nearby to see any form of exposed skin. Without leaving the hide-away she called up her power one more time and launched a series of powerful punches and kicks into the shark-men, knocking several of their superfluous teeth from their jaws.

Vicky swung a leg over Gwen and straddled her, keeping her just pinned enough to remove a possibility for escape. "Only a little. I think with the right training, you'd be a terror on the battlefield. Especially if your vines are a heck of a lot stronger than they look, though they look pretty strong already." As she held her position an idea crossed her mind and she smirked slightly. "Boy, if Morgan, Brian, or Zach walked in on this, I think they'd die of extreme nasal exsanguination. So, I gotta ask, how's things going with those last two boys?"
