  1. Wisp nodded numbly, not wanting to admit that she'd been getting into costume while Changeling had dealt with the rampaging monstrous stalker with a crush. "Yeah, he crashed through the wall of a local Starbase, made a few comments about his old identity being dead and planning to take Doctor Marks and make her his bride." Running a hand through her hair she sighed, "Do you know anything about Goanna? Specifically what kind of venom he might have now that he's all scaly?"
  2. "Private citizens with powers," she answered, keeping the fact she was holding the fact her parents used to be spies well off her face. That was not a topic she wanted to discuss in public. "Oh God no, Deadlands is a bit too much of a 'crapsack' world for my tastes. I like my stories to have a more upbeat feeling to them, you know? Just something so that you know in the end there's a chance that the lives of most people might improve after the story finishes. Sequel bait is one thing but a super depressing setting just pushes me right out." "Might be best to keep the 'worlds' separate so that stuff from a Steampunk story don't cross with anything from a setting based around magic and keeping them from the previously mentioned zombies and cowboys setting which is just gun-slingers defending a town from the undead," she began. "I've played Rifts games before and I don't think we need this to turn into one just yet."
  3. "Well, I am my parent's daughter," she said with a chuckle. "It isn't really, there was one of those pen and paper games I mentioned earlier called Deadlands. I never got to play it myself but I recall reading somewhere that one of the major factions 'in-universe' was this group of super religious fanatics so desperate to see God they were willing to unleash Satan in the Old West. So, you have Native American shamans, undead cowboys, priests, and everything in between trying to stop them. Or so I've heard." "As for my drawing time, it depends how much effort I'm putting in. I can have a concept sketch done in under half an hour but it takes considerably longer when I'm trying for more details or realism in my work. As for completed stories, I only have a few but since we'll be looking for ideas we can start with those. Also, I do have a large collection of movies to pick pieces of for brainstorming."

  5. Wisp answered the officer's questions with as much detail as she could remember. After the questions she paced, mentally kicked herself, and paced some more. When Brian spoke, she felt a new rush of guilt. "I did, that's for sure. I probably could have grabbed her and gotten her out of the line of fire. But my first instinct said 'attack, try and get his attention'. That worked out... poorly," she sighed as she stood and looked in through the narrow window so common in hospital doors. "There has to be something we can do to help," she said, frustration in her voice and an urge to shove her fist through the wall barely contained visible in her body language.
  6. Vicky nodded, "Not much rush on it. Just a randomly occurring idea. However, if there's any heavy lifting that needs doing when you do get to it, let me know. My personal best is something around half a ton, more if I don't have to hold it for long." Taking a bite from her sandwich she mused, "If we can program in a basic combat scenario, maybe we can include a full story..." Pulling a much sturdier looking binder from her bag, she turned it towards Cole. "I've got a whole bunch of settings and scenarios to start with. Though my favorite one at the moment is this," she said flipping to a page depicting an Old West looking town, "Zombies and Cowboys, not overly original but it was one of the first full stories I drew."
  7. Wisp reappeared behind Brian in a plume of smoke, just as he began calling. "No, no it isn't. You call nine-one-one, I'll get her to a hospital," the young woman said. Scooping the woman up gently, Wisp vanished again with hardly a noise to betray her moving. In a series of 'jumps' along rooftops and fire escapes, Wisp and Dr. Marks were at the nearest emergency room in minutes. Finding the doors needlessly slow, one last teleport brought her inside. "Got a civilian poison victim here!" she called into the, thankfully, nearly empty waiting room.
  8. Vicky held her tongue while the waitress refilled their sodas. After she left she answered Cole's question, "Just an idea. Probably from too much Star Trek as a kid but, the idea setting something up for training just sparked. Rather than just the Doom Room which requires a lot of supervision. It'd cut down on injuries sustained from training and would allow for much more flexibility, allowing for multiple scenarios. And, with the right programming done, it might even have some recreational uses." She had to work hard to keep her voice low enough that it wouldn't carry but the excitement was plain as day.
  9. As Brian changed into Glowstar, Victoria let her fist fly at Cooper/Goanna's face, narrowly missing the monster-man's sharp fangs. As her fist finished connecting, she vanished in a cloud of sanguine and snowy smoke, her chair overturned though her bag was missing. If she'd still been at the table, she'd have seen she 'poofed' before all the momentum of her swing had imparted into the monster's jaw. Landing in an empty stall in the lady's room she quickly locked the door then began changing into her costume, stuffing her civilian clothes into the bag.
  10. Wisp, having no problem with swinging first, is going to punch the reptile, teleport to the women's restroom (preferably an unoccupied stall), and extra effort quick change into costume. Attack is 1d20+13=31, DC 22 toughness for scaly boy there.
  11. Vicky entered Caresse's room, trying to be mindful of the girl's personal space. "Hey Caresse. Janis, Caresse. Caresse, Janis. Okay, introductions out of the way, Jan and I were heading down to the cafeteria and were wondering if you'd like to join. I haven't seen you around campus much and I figured some company and food might be a good way to kill an afternoon," she said warmly. Leaning against the wall, her crimson on onyx eyes scanned the room, noting the katana hanging from a mount on the wall as well as a bunch of tournament trophies. Internally she whistled and thought to herself, Dang, that's more than a little impressive there.
  12. "Improv usually involves much fewer dice," Vicky replied. Answering his last questions she nodded, "The former. Back in Chicago I got big into Dungeons & Dragons. I think most of us who've ever been bitten by the writer's bug have tried Gygax and Arneson's creation. Though, you're right about one thing, not many at school have expressed much interest in a game. There's a couple of us in the Gaming Club but for the most part, it's made up of purely-video gamers." Pausing for a moment, she was pretty sure Cole could almost hear the gears working behind her sunglass covered eyes. He lips spreading into a slow grin, she asked, "Cole, how much do you know about the tech behind virtual reality?"
  13. "Honestly, I'm pretty horrible at chess. Pen and paper gaming is...," she struggled for a moment to define one of her favorite hobbies, "Sort of interactive storytelling. Your group comes to the table, role-plays their character, often cracks some really bad and/or crude jokes, scarfs down a meal often composed of cheetos, pizza or Chinese food and mountain dew." "As for the computer help, that'd be appreciated. I know how to use one but I'd like to be able to code my own website, you know?"
  14. Wisp watched Revenant crash into the metal-man and figuring she'd take the opening her distraction left, called her will up for another series of attacks. She appeared before the man, rolled forward past his legs and finished the move with a handspring vaulting her backwards, heels first, towards the back of his head. Unfortunately for her, his skin was indeed as solid and tough as the first glance would indicate and when she reappeared twenty-some feet away, her feet felt like she'd just cracked them with a hammer. "Son of a bitch that smarts..."

Victoria was making her way back to the school, she'd been given permission from Headmaster Summers to visit the comicbook shop she had her pullbox at after they'd called her after her weekly draw hadn't been picked up for several weeks. All she had to promise was to call in if there was any trouble and not go looking for any. Clutching messenger bag full of the issues of comics and graphic novels she'd just picked up. Keeping her head down she made her way to the bus stop. And then she heard Looking over she spied the woman from the other day outside the nuke plant, wearing the same super-old business suit, talking to a handful of graffiti spraying hoods. Oh boy..., this can not end well, she thought to herself.
  16. The DC goes up because he'd be flat-footed, so the autofire would come into play. The +15 is from her acrobatics check, not an attack roll. And..., I did end up using bad numbers in the attack roll. Should have only been +10 not +12. Still hits (only DC 28 now) but I can reroll if you'd prefer.

  18. "Indeed, there's also gaming, both video and pen & paper, and general Internet nerdity. There's also the school's anime club I joined a few months back," she answered. She paused as the waitress came by to take their orders. "I'm also going to be taking Home Ec this fall for the cooking and sewing aspects of the class, wouldn't mind taking some computer classes either."
  19. "Not really sure," she answered honestly. "Nothing high profile sticks out, though those robots in the West End stick out. Or stopping Downtime from robbing a bunch of casinos along the boardwalk. Or the previously mentioned subway incident. Or the pair of ninjas in the museum... None of these I hung around for the press afterwords. Must have been Supercape. Or Fulcrum... You know what, never mind. Regardless, it still sounds like a tasty sandwich." Folding her menu and setting it aside she looked over at her companion, "So, besides reading history and building motorcycles, got any other hobbies?"
  20. Swinging off the bike, Vicky set the helmet on the rear seat before running her hands through her hair to try and smooth it out. "How do you feel about zodiac or constellation type names? Given how she purred the whole way here, Leo might be fitting." Entering, lead the way to booth. After getting seated she opened her menu, looking for something that looked good. She was highly surprised to see her name and her boyfriend's on the menu. Her name was tied to a smoked turkey, four cheese, and tomato panini while Crow's was a corned beef and cabbage sub.
  21. Vicky stretched, her back was still sore from her training exercises that morning with Brian, John, and Morgan. "Gimme a sec," she said lifting her shirt just enough to expose any Icy Hot patch on her lower back, "Took a deflected shot from Brian right here, hurt like a bitch but the patch has helped." Pulling the old patch off and rummaging in her desk for a fresh one, she applied it and let out a pleased sigh. "Say, you run into our new neighbor? Might not be a bad idea to see if she'd like to join us, two's company, three's a party," she said with a grin. "Things with Morgan are going pretty well. He's funny, smart," she started and with a conspiratorial smirk, added in a very low voice, "And knows just what a woman needs. Remind me to tell you about Tian sometime..." Finishing her sentence, she knocked on their neighbor Caresse's dorm door.
  22. "Indeed a helmet," Vicky explained 'poofing' over to grab the helmet and put on her sunglasses, "Remember, attention. We don't want it." She kept her balance fairly well for a motorcycle newbie as they swooped down the road, her snowy-hair whipping behind them. As Cole rolled the bike to a stop at an intersect she asked just over the rumble of the engine, "So, you have a pet name for this ride? I know guys back home who gave pet names to less impressive and/or expensive pieces of hardware."
