  1. Ryan stretched. He wore a maille haubergeon over a black tunic, and that over a pair of gray sweatpants. On his side, he wore his sword, with a zip tie to keep it closed. Not that he couldn't break the zip tie easily if he had to, but it was for safety. Over that, he wore a black cloak. It was too warm to wear the hood. He felt legitimately badass and cool. He stepped up and picked up an axe. He took careful aim, and let loose, throwing it just right of center, hitting the target with a solid thunk. The truth was, he'd been training extensively with his body. Honing his reflexes, and especially practicing his sword play. "Claremont certainly is interesting." He mumbled to himself.
  2. Ryan heard the last of the conversation as he stepped back into the hallway. In one hand, he carried his hollow body guitar, in the other, he carried a stool. He chuckled. "Well you guys wanted me to play, so..." He sat the stool down, sat down, put his guitar against the wall, cracked his knuckles, and began to play. His fingers danced along the strings and frets. He avoided the usual driving metal and rock tunes he personally preferred in favor of something lighter, more dynamic, and in some ways, more complex. It was not hte most complex piece he had learned, but it was well played. He hadn't been practicing his guitar as much as he would like, but he could still play well.
  3. Ryan had to chuckle at the little green guy. He grinned. "Oh, hey, cool." He dropped to a crouch and sat in front of Gookgak. He chuckled. "I'm Ryan, nice to meet you. Yeah, stay away from alcohol around here, it'll get people in trouble, including you." he extended his hand, hoping to shake it. He, of course, had no idea what the little guy was, where he came from or what he was doing at a school for teenage superheroes, but none of that mattered. The faculty knew who he was and why he was here. That was all that he needed. "Okay, so we got a little green dude." he shrugged at the others. "Daniel, guess you're my roommate. You cool with that?" He briefly considered retrieving his guitar, but decided against it. "I play guitar sometimes, if that bothers you, I can always leave. And don't worry, I'll have headphones in if I ever play something heavier."
  4. Sever needed to train. He needed to train and practice. He needed to get stronger, faster, and better with his sword. As it was, he felt like he was aimlessly flailing, with no real success. This guy was easily tearing his offense apart. Nothing was working. If he managed to survive this, he'd double down.
  5. 17 to attack. if that hits, DC23 I think? Damage save.
  6. 21 Acrobatic Bluff. He's pretty sure he can't hit this guy reliably without it.
  7. Ryan had scarcely moved out. The truth was, other than the orphanage where he grew up, he had nowhere else to go. So he largely kept his things there over the summer. He had considered bringing one of his guitars down with him, to play music for the students, but he had decided against it. Mostly because he didn't think he'd have time. And he didn't. He spent most of the time answering questions. However, when the young woman dressed like a pirate walked out of the building, he gave a quick, appreciative nod of his head. He knew she would have to go to her own building, and probably didn't have time to talk. he had spent a lot of the summer training. A lot of training. The sword fighting manuals he'd found were really starting to help him. He also suspected he might actually start learning German by sheer accident, since that's what many of them were written in. He managed to buy himself some new shirts. Mostly band shirts. He wore an old 80s metal shirt over raggedy old blue jeans. he had a light purple streak in his hair, over his right eye. He realized that, as an official greeter, he could be wearing better clothes, but he truthfully, simply didn't own much in the way of better clothes.
  8. Riposte by Thev For Sever; One rank each in Base Attack and Defense (2 PP each, 4PP total) 2 points of strength to bring it to 18 (2PP) 2 points of Enhanced Con in his powers list (that'll bring him to 26 total, and increase his toughness to A second rank of Takedown Attack (1 PP) Move-By-Action, (1 PP) That should be all 10, bringing him up a bit for his junior year!
  9. Sever sped past his armed opponent, running a literal circle around them before jumping up and over, bringing his sword down on top of his opponent. As he crossed over to land where he had been before, however, his opponent blocked his attack. Sever landed where he had been before, and cursed under his breath. He was trying to keep his head straight and focus on one enemy at a time. This entire thing was so far above his head that he barely understood where he was or what he was doing. But there was another guy with a sword, and fate decreed they must fight.
  10. 13 Probably a miss.
  11. Sever is going to use Fast Acrobatic Bluff to try to get this guy's guard to open up; 22 If that works, will probably power attack.
  12. Sever bolted toward the nearest enemies that he was capable of fighting. He ran as fast as he could, closing the distance remarkably fast. All of this was well above his true understanding and ability to wrap his head around. All he knew was he had a swords and there were enemies he could put down with that sword. He was just glad no cosmic entities were coming after him specifically.
  13. Returning Student; Name: Ryan Jacobs Codename: Sever Year; Junior Pronouns: he/him Reflection: He got reckless a few times last year. He needs to be better. Independent thinker: Ryan has begun to realize his limitations, and learn to set growth goals for himself.
  14. Sever slashed down towards the ground. Instead of hitting the ground, however, his sword met nothing, and cut a hole through reality itself. Sever fell through. He appeared a few feet above one of the nearby drones and, using the momentum of his fall, drove his sword through the chest of one of the drones. He wrenched it free, turned, and slashed at one of the other drones, barely nicking it, and doing no notable damage.
  15. Sever is going to use his teleport to teleport to a nearby drone and attack it; -2 damage, +2 attack, take 10, that's a DC22 toughness save. If that drops the drone, the same to any adjacent drones.
  16. Adam had no idea what Z-space radiation was. He was smart, and a fast learner, but this was a situation he had no context for. "Well that's weird." He said, blinking. "I do think testing it on new objects is much preferred to testing it on living beings. Especially since we have no idea what will happen." He watched the chaos with fascination. He would need to do some research into z-space and get caught up. If he could.
  17. 12 Not ideal.
  18. "Fast food sucks, sir. That's all I'm gonna say. I mean, I'm about six two, I can bench about 230, and I'm good with taking orders. I don't have any practical skills, but I can lift and I'm willing to learn." Ryan managed to procure a decent looking button up shirt and slacks with a tie, so he looked like he was ready for an interview, even if he did still have dye in his hair. He knew it would be physically exhausting, but he was used to hard work and heavy lifting. And besides, the sword made him a whole lot tougher and gave him a lot more endurance.
  19. "You make some good points. See, um, I'm an orphan. And there's a lot of people with a lot of personal problems in places like that. Trust is hard to get, friendship even harder. But I totally understand what you mean. I'm already making friends. It's mostly just nerves, honestly. I am pretty good at the guitar. I practice nearly as often as I do with my sword." "Thank you so much for the talk, though."
  20. Everything was beyond his understanding, but he did know there were bad guys to stop. Ryan took off running as fast as he could to the first group of drones he spotted. He jumped into the air and sliced cleanly through one of the drones before landing and thrusting the tip of his sword through the chest of another. He dragged down as he pulled it out, damaging the drone irreversibly. He saw how much more his friends were doing, and felt like he needed to make some improvements to keep up. He wasn't fast enough and he couldn't teleport far enough to really make a different. He was constantly training and practicing, but he needed to work on his powers specifically.
  21. He'll move to whichever is closest.
  22. As per Discord, Sever will take -2 to damage for +2 to attack, giving him +7 to attack, allowing him to take 10 for a DC22 toughness save on one drone. If THAT works, he'll move to a second drone to repeat the process on that one.
  23. Sever didn't bother evading this time. He knew she was starting to get used to his moves. Plus, she was already pretty cut up. He flipped his sword and gripped the blade and the hilt. He decided to try something brand new that he saw in videos and in sword fighting manuals. He slammed the pommel of his sword into her stomach. He could feel the breath catch in her body, and knew she was down. "Looks like you can't take us both down." He suddenly realized there was that weird Conquistador guy outside, and ran towards the exit so he could help with the fight in case he needed to. He made it outside, and paused to see the strange fight that was happening.
  24. John paused for just a moment, but didn't turn around. Whatever she had wasn't as fast as he was. If things got rough, he could always just flee. However, his pride overreached his intelligence. He should have just taken off, but he didn't want to. He didn't want to just run off. He was willing to fight if he needed to. He shouldn't, and he knew it, but he wasn't going to just run. Plus, he rationalized. He had no idea when the EPA might show up, if they showed up. he needed to be able to slow them down before they skipped town. Even if all that meant was that they were a bit too bruised to leave yet.
