  1. Instantly, Mali's eyes bulged and her jaw dropped. This sudden shift was not unexpected, but there was still nothing she could do to prepare for it. The Doom Room could do things she could only imagine. It seemed as though it had caught her by surprise. "This is a simulation..." She mumbled in her head. Instantly, she pictured parades. They wouldn't just do a parade, so that meant something was supposed to go wrong. But what? She noticed, out of the corner of her eye, that Etain was looking at the crowds. She would look high then, try to cover the most area. Snipers, flying villains, anything could come from above.
  2. Xena'd by Dok Some major edits for Crimson Tiger; Giving her new equipment, (chakram, flashlight, commlink, armor in her costume) Taking Attack Focus Melee away and just boosting her Attack getting rid of a couple of grapple feats, they aren't really suited to how I use her Getting rid of her headquarters for new stronger motorcycle and new equipment (see above) Increasing her strength, attack and defense to meet new PL8 caps Adding two new complications, one to represent her Claremont enlistment, the other as a memory of when she accidentally nearly killed Steel Shrike in a spar.
  3. I would like an HQ, and I figure if found or not, Ironclad and Voltage would get to working it through pretty quickly
  4. Alright, Rav, we can figure out that. Now, I have a question; What sort of color scheme would work for logos and such? I'm thinking of designing a logo and other details, but I don't know what kind of colors to use. Any suggestions?
  5. Mali found herself shaking the hands of two completely different people. One was dressed quite oddly, and the other looked fairly ordinary. "Oh, my name is Mali, Benjawan Mali." She smiled. "I've never been in here before, but I was told to come try it out. I use Muay Thai. It's...kind of an odd style, not like kung fu or karate or anything. It's mostly just knees, elbows, punches and kicks. Meant for fast, powerful strikes." She found herself rattling off the standard explanation for what muay thai was about, something short, sweet, and concise. She assumed that people didn't really make the distinction between styles very often. She also tended to assume that most people wouldn't really care about the difference either. They hear 'martial arts' and immediately think of guys like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, or Chuck Norris.
  6. "Oh, okay, well, um. I wasn't planning on touching it, I just didn't know what was going on. Who are you? I'm Crimson Tiger. I'm a, well, a superhero I guess. I was just wondering why there would be a pizza van here. If you're a civilian, I don't think it would be a good idea to stick around. I mean..." She smacked her forehead. She really needed to keep her head straighter sometimes. What if this was some sort of ninja pizza delivery van or something? That was a silly notion, but, she had fought ninja art thieves before. She looked over the vehicle, obviously puzzled by it's presence. Who was in it? Why were they delivering pizza here? Was it some sort of disguise?
  7. I think that would definitely work well. In addition, does anyone have any other name ideas? I like Sentinels, but that doesn't mean we are completely settled on it.
  8. Crimson Tiger First Month's Free First Day Jitters Instant Action: Just Add Ninjas Incompatible Hardware Voltage Shock and Flaw ...For Services Rendered Early Withdrawals are Punishable By Superheroes March Vignette
  9. Crimson Tiger scanned the darkness. She didn't just look at the warehouse, but all over. She couldn't afford to be caught by surprise from behind, such as ninjas returning to base. It was then that she spotted something very, very unusual. "Who would deliver pizza to a warehouse?" She mumbled, very quietly to herself. She suspected something unusual, and approached the van quietly. She had no way of knowing what, or who, was inside, but she wasn't going to approach like an enemy. If it were the ninjas, why would they wait outside in a pizza van? It could be the police in some sort of sting, or maybe government agents. Either way, announcing her presence would be a pretty smart move. It could also, she realized, be another hero. But what kind of hero drives around in a pizza van? She walked over to the van, hoping her costume would be a dead giveaway. She walked around the van, trying to see who was inside it, if anyone. What was going on here? She looked around it, too, trying to see if anything was amiss.
  10. Ah, the Doom Room. What an interesting place. Not that Benjawan Mali had ever been in it, before. She'd heard rumors of it. She was a little scared, but mostly excited. No amount of gym equipment at home could compete with the Doom Room in size, scope, and insanity. She walked into the room and glanced around, taking in the whole place. She was all business today, work out clothes, hair done in a short braid, and a mischievous grin on her face. This was going to be fun, assuming she didn't, well, die. She didn't think dying was part of the Doom Room experience. After all, parents wouldn't send their kids to a school with it's own mortality rate.
  11. Probably not too many, but, two couldn't hurt. If nothing else that could help with resources and such.
  12. Hello all! Arichamus and I have been thinking about this for quite some time now. We've come to the conclusion that our characters, Voltage and King of Suits, make an effective team. Then we decided we want to expand it beyond that. So, here's a short and sweet version of what we're looking for; The Team: The Sentinels! (This name is not set in stone, if you feel you have a good suggestion, feel free to say it, even if you don't plan to join the team) Members: 4 to 7, with 5 as an ideal. Focus: This team will probably end up fighting a lot of science and technology villains, but that's not set in stone. We'll accept any kind of hero, and an individual hero's personal baggage may or may not result in fighting their personal kinds of threats. Power Level: We'd like to stick to somewhere in the 10-12 range. Team Description The Sentinels would be a fairly loose association of heroes. Think the Defenders, only not quite as hostile to each other. Other Points of Interest We would like players who plan on sticking around on site, and have at least a little experience with playing. We would also like players who as yet do not have a character on a team. Exceptions may be made, of course, but we'd rather give people a chance to be on a team that haven't yet. None of these details are set in stone as of yet, other than the two founding characters, Voltage and King of Suits. That, and the number of characters. Even a team as big as 7 would be hard pressed to appear in a thread together without slowing it to a crawl. This is not King of Suits and Voltage doing a roll call for new people. This is being done with the intent to eventually set up the team. If we know which characters will be involved, we can do a series of threads that connect them, test the possible inter-character relationships, and then naturally and organically establish the team. I will say this one final note. Please understand that we have no idea how many people are going to volunteer for this. This is not going to be First Come, First Serve. Arichamus and I will decide who's on the team once we we're sure no one else wants on it. After that, however, team members will get equal opinions in all matters. We may be setting this up, but we're not going to maintain an iron grip on the team, everyone who joins will get a say. If you're interested, feel free to post. If you have any further questions, concerns, or ideas, you can PM either Arichamus or myself, and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
  13. uh, Crimson Tiger isn't next to Glow, also; to spot Catalysts' van, I roll a 25
  14. Voltage stared at the man. This man, a gangster, a user of people. He was going to go down, no matter what. He channeled raw electric power into his hands and sent a bolt of silvery energy straight at Avetti, hoping to knock him unconscious. His mind turned over what he saw in his head. His brother looked like he was going to attack him. No matter, once this business was over with Avetti, he'd deal with his brother afterwards.
  15. got a 20 Voltage is going to blast Avetti; 12, probably not a hit
  16. Voltage narrowed his eyes. They had his brother. Voltage didn't care that his brother had gotten into trouble, all that mattered was getting him out. He knew that there was a chance Sam might need to be dealt with. If that's what it took, so be it. Voltage was angry, frustrated, and had been dealing with these people for long enough. It was time to finish it. A single, concentrated blast was all it took to tear the door off of the frame and send it flying into the room. He flew in after it and stood levitating, arms crossed. "Supergiantboy? That's the lamest superhero name I've ever heard."
  17. Rolle a natural 20 for a 22!
  18. Bending down towards the cable, he sent small electric pulses through it, trying to get a clear picture of what lie in the rooms beyond. It was tiring and difficult using his powers in such a way. Normally, he was not used to such carefully controlled electric pulses. Bit by bit he tried to get a better image, filtering sounds, voices, seeing if he recognized any of them. This was quite difficult, troublesome, even. He was struggling. He needed the information before the careful effort wore him out.
  19. Voltage is going to try to use the cables as sensory devices to listen in on the room (power stunting ESP) and burning an HP in order to recover from doing so.
  20. got a 6 on a notice check
  21. It wasn't much work teleporting to the two thugs and knocking them out with quick blasts. He was quite nervous about the area up ahead. He couldn't see into it, and he'd have to be careful. He flew somewhat slowly, floating towards the blank spot. His mind went over all of the various things that could be going on, but one thing stood above the others; this was the source of the bugs, and possibly the source of everything else. He flew forward, guarded cautiously against all feasible possibility.
  22. going to teleport to the goons and just knock them out, then fly cautiously towards the blocked up part
  23. Hot Zone: Voltage The Morgan household was experiencing an ordinary morning. Thomas was in his room, on his computer. Sam was in the garage, tinkering with his car. It was a steal for the price Sam got it for, but it needed a lot of work. Luckily, Sam knew what he was doing, and could get it up and running himself. Thomas peeked out of the window and watched as his brother hauled a large, heavy box into the garage. He mused on how different he and Sam were. Both were fairly bright boys, with vastly different aptitudes. Thomas was the thoughtful one, prone to studying and intellectual pursuits. Sam was athletic, with greater insight than intellect. Thomas liked his computers, Sam liked his cars. Then, he heard the loud CRUNCH coming from the garage. In an instant, Thomas was dashing downstairs and out the door. When he reached the garage, his eyes went wide with shock. There was Sam, laying down, staring at his hands. A short distance away lie his car, upside down. “What the heck happened?†Thomas asked, running to his brother. He was relieved. He had been afraid that the jack had given way and dropped the car, possibly on top of Sam. “I, uh, flipped my car over.†Sam said, seemingly not sure he was saying it himself. “You...what?†Thomas said. “Yeah, man, I was under it and...pushed a little bit. Flipped it over.†Thomas staggered back. “Unnnnnghh...†He groaned as his head seemed to split open with a sharp stab of pain. Instantaneously, his mind filled with digital noise. Something had turned his data connection power on full blast, and now he couldn't even think through it. He collapsed unconcious. “Thomas, you alright man?†Sam said. He opened his eyes and spotted his brother, standing over him. “Y-yeah, I am.†Thomas said. The pain had subsided as did his power. Instantly, his mind was on the internet, searching and collecting data. It was then that he became aware of the situation. People getting superpowers, everywhere and anywhere in the city. “Oh this isn't good.†Thomas said, standing up. “What's not good?†Sam asked. “Okay, so...†Thomas began as he revealed everything. He explained about his powers, his hero life, and more importantly, what had happened to both of them. “I knew it.†Sam said. “I freakin' knew it. It was so weird how that all happened, and...†Thomas raised his hand. “That's not important right now.†He dragged himself to his feet and changed into his costume “Cool costume.†Sam said. “I don't doubt that somewhere, someone is working on a cure for this.†He could feel his mind, too, processing faster and faster. If he wasn't careful, he might be driven insane by the sheer power of his own mind. Slowly, it subsided. “And?†“I want to help them. There are two reasons why. The first is that it's what heroes do. The second is I want to know what's going on, and I need to be contained if my powers grow more uncontrollable.†“What are you afraid will happen?†“My electric powers seem unaffected, but my mental powers are growing increasingly out of control. I can't...concentrate very well. My own thoughts are running away with me.†“That's not good. I should take you to where they're making this cure.†“Sam, it's not safe.†“Thomas, I pushed over my car, I think I can handle myself. Besides, what happens if your powers give out before you can go where you want to?†“I was planning on teleporting.†Thomas said, closing his eyes. He flickered for a moment, but id not move. “Well, I can't teleport, takes too much concentration. I guess I'm stuck flying there.†“Not alone, you're not.†Sam said, walking confidently over to his brother. “Mine are stable, yours aren't.†Thomas nodded and conceded. “Alright, then. We can't fly, because I can't carry you.†“I think we can do something else.†Moments later, Thomas was slung over Sam's shoulder as the two young men leaped high into the air. Several minutes later, the two of them landed in front of the Lab after several awkward and somewhat painful jumps. Thomas was grateful for the suit's protection. “We here?†Sam asked. “Yes, thank you.†Thomas said. “I can take it from here. I'm in costume, you're not.†“Yeah, good point.†Sam said, turning to jump away. He stumbled into the building as his mind struggled to separate thought from data. “My...my name is Voltage.†He said. “I can...control electricity, and computers with my mind.†He stumbled forward. “I can't think, my powers are out of control. I'm afraid of what I'll do, or...what'll become of me if I don't seal myself up.†For the first time in months, he wasn't a superhero. He was a scared kid. Terrified of his own powers, terrified of what was happening. He had hoped to help, but not in this condition. He couldn't think through the internet, and his mind was going so fast it was hard to even say what he managed to say. A few hours later, he lay in a containment cell, leaning against the wall. The internet had shut up, and he could gather his thoughts. It was going to be a long time, but, hopefully someone would come with updates. “Guess I got a while to wait.†He said, leaning back. Some time later, after the cure had been discovered and delivered, after Voltage had been cured, and went home, he opened the door to discover his parents and Sam sitting there, talking. “So they said my powers aren't going away.†Sam said, sighing. “I mean, I'm not dying, but, yeah...†His father nodded. “I understand. Are you going to go to that school?†“Yeah, dad.†He said, with a grin. “It sounds cool.†Thomas quietly closed the door and shook his head. Apparently, there was going to be another superhero in the Morgan family.
  24. "Sounds like an idea. Though I think we should stay and make sure this guy gets arrested, and then talk." She was definitely not looking forward to him suddenly waking up and picking another fight. That wouldn't do at all. She got lucky, she wasn't going to let him try again. "It was enough trouble putting him down the first time. I don't want him getting back up and trying again. Besides, I think the police might want to talk to us." She avoided the obvious questions, the obvious thoughts. That would wait. Business now, take care of the situation.
  25. Voltage was going to do what needed to be done, but he wasn't stupid enough to do so by charging in blindly. First, he found the computer network of the man's house and wormed his way in. After that, he accessed all of his cameras and security devices, ensuring that he knew where all of them were, and where any guards might be. After that, he seized control of the cameras and put them on a continuous looping feed. They would replay a short sequence, wherein nothing happened. Over and over again, in and endless, eternal loop. Once that was taken care of, it was time to deal with the man.
