  1. I'm going to be heading out for more training this week, I should have posted this earlier, but I'll be gone from Monday through Wednesday, probably into Wednesday evening.
  2. Okay, so, Ultimate Effort, burning an HP to roll a 20. She still fails by 3, so she's only bruised. As for the fort save; 26 That could have been worse.
  3. Well, Mali tried not to make too much noise. Tried not to get into a drag out brawl, but it couldn't be helped. She turned and drove a powerful elbow into the stomach of one of the gang members then used that same arm to punch the other man next to her in the face. Then, she bolted forward like a shot, slamming her fist into the side of the head of one of the men threatening Jessica. As soon as she stopped, she grabbed the other man by the hair and jerked him back, slamming her elbow into his abdomen and sending him sprawling to the floor. "If you can fight, help, if you can't, get safe." She said to Jessica, before looking for more threats.
  4. Mali's going for a goon sweep. Power attack for +4, so +8 attack bonus, DC 26 damage. I assume none of can make their saves or evade the attacks?
  5. Things were going south, fast. She saw that the situation was beginning to dissolve, and this Ye Quan guy had no interest in peaceful negotiations. That suited her just fine. She'd rather go in swinging than dance around the issue. She was fine with peaceful solutions, but sometimes they just didn't work. Crimson Tiger had a target. She took a flying jump, raising one knee as she sailed towards Ye Quan. Her knee slammed into his side, knocking him away from the red girl. He didn't lose his balance, but Crimson Tiger landed gracefully. She raised one knee and stood on the ball of her other foot, the classic Muay Thai stance. Anyone that could see her clearly could tell that she was smirking. She was about to throw down.
  6. Mali is going to do what Mali does best. She's going to charge up to the guy who just fired the energy blast and knock him for a loop with a running knee. Full power attack; 24 That's a +10 to attack, +2 from the charge for a total of +15, then -5 for a full power attack. DC27 TOU save if it hits.
  7. 24 initiative
  8. Hannah's going to use her burst Dazzle to see about blinding them. She'll probably blind Corinne, but Corinne's captive anyway. That's a DC20 reflex save to avoid being suddenly blinded. Then, she's going to use a free action to switch to her blast, Does a 22 hit? She'll burn an HP to shrug off the fatigue.
  9. Mali's body tensed as she watched. She wanted to jump down and pound the guy, but she thought better of it. Surrounded as they were with guards, she imagined that they could potentially shoot her dead before she did enough damage to bother with. She wanted to knock him down a few pegs, but she wanted to survive to go home, too. It went against her instincts, but she decided to wait and see, if only for a bit longer. If nothing else, she'd wait for a vantage point to attack from later on. It wasn't that she was afraid of dying, she just really didn't like her odds here.
  10. "We aren't in danger of being shot at." Solar Sentinel said. He wasn't wrong, but he wasn't quite willing to admit the truth of it. Earth simply didn't have that sort of fire power. They were at risk of a superhero investigating, one or more of the Freedom League or Liberty League poking at the craft, but not of artillery. He was, however, alarmed at the presence of the Lor. "With that said." he blinked. "This doesn't make any sense. Where are the Earth's defenders? Where's the Freedom League, or the Liberty League? This is a major breach of protocol right here. Something is very wrong."

  12. In social situations, where she had to talk to people and communicate her ideas and feelings, she was known to retreat. This, however, was different. This was an attack. Anyone that lead attack first was not someone interested in talking. Hannah wasn't great at talking with people, she was more of an artistic soul. She loved to write and draw, she loved to listen to music. Her most recent form of expression was using her powers. She assumed these two didn't think she was a threat. That was a mistake. Her force fields had been rigorously stress tested and could take a great deal of punishment, and that meant that while she could use her powers, she felt safer and more secure. So her powers flared up, the air around her shimmered with color, and Hannah glared at the two her attacked her friend, ready to throw down.
  13. Mali kept to the shadows. Unlike SFX, she couldn't exactly walk into the club as she was. She had a few things at home that might make her blend in, but none of that was here, at least. She had two objectives. One was to find the victims, the other was to find some likely target that could be grilled for information. Mali was surprisingly convincing when pressed. She trusted that Tsunami could keep up with her, and they could handle trouble. Mali was cautious around people with guns, but they didn't scare her. They rarely lead their targets well, and most of them folded effortlessly. People with guns were generally only good with guns, if that. That, and people were known to drop their guns before she got to them, if she got to someone else, first.
  14. Skill mastery for a 23
  15. Crimson Tiger heard SFX's explanation of the interior, she grinned. "That kind of recon can save time and cut a lot of risk." She was impressed. "So, I'm good at getting in where I'm not wanted, and so is Tsunami. If we go in, do you have a way to stay out of sight? I'm thinking, try to get in and find out if they have the vanished people, or know where they are. I have ways of making people talk if need be. Mostly, I was hoping to avoid a big fight if possible." She looked from one to the other. "Any thoughts?"
  16. Mali smiled and walked over. "Nice to meet you." She glanced around. "Claremont was good to me. Taught me a lot of stuff, about crime fighting, about life." It felt weird to be a veteran hero to someone. The idea of anyone treating her like an experienced, older hero was odd. Yet, she reflected, she had a student. She was training someone. Life had a way of throwing curve balls at you, it was better to go with the flow and adjust to reality, rather than try to hold it to your desires. "Shall we go?"
  17. Dimensional incursion. That sounded troublesome. Especially in Freedom City. Solar Sentinel clenched his fists. "Sophie." He said. "I take it that there's some kind of breach from another universe that you're attempting to intercept?" He thought about the kind of damage that a major attack could do. He was one of the fastest humans in the world. Whatever it was, he'd be there to stop it if he could. "We may end up in a combat situation." He said, looking at the others. "Just to warn you."
  18. I'm happy to throw Solar Sentinel back into things if you'd like
  19. Hannah blushed and retreated slightly. "Um, no, no, no makeovers, please. I like being the quiet little mouse that everyone overlooks. I'm um, I'm okay with that. I could uh, never just, you know, walk up to a boy and go 'hey, let's do a thing', because I don't do...things, with boys. I'll um, eventually, you know. When some cute guy notices me off in the corner or something, but like...middle of the room, bold approach? No, no, that, that isn't me." She realized that she was rambling almost nonsensically. The idea of being so bold was as alien to her as swimming through concrete or walking on the ceiling. It was antithetical to her nature. But, then, she sighed. "Um, a little makeover, might be nice, though." She reasoned that if she was destined to be noticed by some cute guy in a library somewhere, it might help to be cute. "Just, um, nothing way, way outside of what I'd wear. I don't wanna go a full Sandy from Grease here. I'd be okay with aiming for 'cute'." She smiled slightly. "Pizza first, though. Definitely. I'm starving."
  20. Hannah had to giggle. "I'm not very uh, spidery. The chest thing...." she kind of coughed and blushed slightly. That was perhaps one area of her physique she was both comfortable with and uncomfortable with. There were advantages, and disadvantages. "Not like boys notice me anyway, you know? There are some advantages and...disadvantages to that. But I figure I'll meet someone eventually. Most of the students are just....really, really, really hot and I'm...not. That's okay, though. I'd much rather finish school then deal with boys, in that order." She said this in a sort of sour grapes kind of wistful way, as if it was a mantra she said to herself at night and when boys noticed all the other girls. Yet her mantra worked, and she was okay with it. "I kinda just want regular pizza, but, we can totally order our own. I can uh, finish a whole pizza..."
  21. Solar Sentinel was immediately confused and on alert. However, seeing the broadcasts put him a bit more at ease. If this were some sort of advanced AI, it may have sent some kind of signal out, or maybe picked up signals. He thought about things like this, and remembered hearing something about the Navagatrixi. They were guides and explorers. Probably harmless, he thought. "Hello." He said to the gynoid. "I am Solar Sentinel. I come from the world you were observing, Earth, but I've been to many other places. Seeker of Perpetual Harmony. Hm. SOPH. Would it bother you if I called you Sophie? It would be shorter." He considered the AI for a moment. It would have to be exceptionally advanced to speak such clear, concise English. He doubted English was spoken yet when it was created. He wasn't even sure if humans had language, or even existed. "I'm curious about your purpose." he said, looking around. "What is it you want?"
  22. So I decided to roll Galactic Lore to see if there was anything he would remember hearing about something like this; I got a 30. So if he can know it, he does, if it's knowable.
  23. "Oh!" Solar Sentinel said. "That's unusual." He said, in a massive understatement. "I doubt there's anything alive in here, if it's that old. Still, as we say on Earth, better safe than sorry." He still took the lead, looking around for anything that might resemble a door. He had neither superhuman senses nor sophisticated scanning equipment, relying instead on his excellent, if totally normal human eyesight. He had questions as well, but was less equipped to answer them than his comrades.
  24. Solar Sentinel: Temporary Soup Kitchen, Liberty Park Solar Sentinel always worked soup kitchens during the holidays. He never really had anywhere important to go, and it kept him grounded. Seeing the most vulnerable citizens of Freedom City, helping them. After all his time in space, making sure he remembered why heroes do what they do helped him a lot. When he heard about the temporary soup kitchen, he figured he could spend a few days here. In costume, no less. Usually he was just Henry the Soup Kitchen volunteer. "Great turnout." He said, glancing around. He had been quietly working in the back most of the time, despite his bright colored costume. Lending his muscle and reach to all sorts of tasks. Now that they were in a momentary lull, he decided to take a momentary break. "We're doing good work, people." he said. "Got a long night ahead of us, but it's worth it."
  25. Solar Sentinel took a slight lead. He imagined if there was trouble, it made sense to have the most durable person in front. The darkness inside the caves made his eyes strain to see. He raised one hand and, after a few seconds of concentration, bathed the area in a bluish light. The color wasn't ideal, but blue was all he could do. He knew the others had lights on them, but he also felt a bit on edge with so many shadows around.
