  1. Before her opponent had an opportunity to get back up, Crimson Tiger was there. She looked down at her opponent, who was still breathless and unable to stand. So, she bent down and, in one motion, pulled Legion's head up and delivered an elbow to her face. That was enough. Legion disappeared. Unfortunately, she did not have time to catch her breath. There were more of these Legion duplicates out there, and they needed to be stopped. So she turned and looked for her friends, hoping to get a handle on the situation so she could see what to do next.
  2. Mali is going to walk up to the girl and knock her out. Fully damage shifted attack, 19. Since Legion is prone, that's likely a hit at a DC27 TOU save
  3. As soon as the other Legion went down, Crimson Tiger was on her other target. She was tired of fighting this girl and her copies. She was tired of her rolling with punches that would knock out a bull. She was annoyed and sore and tired of fighting a girl she was pretty sure was literally running running circles around her. So, it was time to end the fight and show Legion exactly why she wasn't to be messed with. Mali reached up and grabbed at Legion's right arm. She pulled the other girl off balance as her other hand reached down and grabbed Legion by her leg. She used Legion's own weight and momentum and added to it, rolling with the movements to build up force. She turned and hurled Legion in a straight line as hard as she could, sending the other girl flying through the air. She watched as the other girl landed roughly on the mall floor. That, at least, had to hurt.
  4. Mali's gonna throw her as far as she can just to show she can, that should be about 25 feet. As per discussion, that's a DC22 TOU save as it's based on her strength score. She's not going to throw her at a wall or anything, she should land on the floor down the hallway somewhere.
  5. 23 on the initial attack to initiate the grapple 39 on an opposed Grapple Check,
  6. "Folks, this ain't my business." Solar Sentinel said. "I know that. You folks and the Psions have some bad blood, and it seems like they deserve it. I wasn't the only one in there though. There's a young lady in there that's doing what she can to help. She asked me to talk to you folks and let you know what was going on, see if we could end this with as little bloodshed as we can." He sighed. "There's a lot of bad folks in there, a lot of innocents, and one plucky young lady. I heard a conversation about how some of the Psions are a lot less eager to fight than the others. Like maybe they're going to try and run before the fight starts. That'll mean at least one less of those folks to fight when it comes time to fight. And you folks don't have to fight this alone. That old man looks to be one of the most twisted, evil people I've ever had the displeasure to see, and I'll do what I can to help if you'll have me."
  7. 22 on Diplomacy to talk to the Atoms, see if it does any good
  8. Henry walked to the crew and bent down, looking them over a bit for physical harm. His powers could let him heal others, but only if there were wounds. He wasn't sure how it worked. He bent down and let the healing energy flow out of him and into the Lor. The Lor glowed for a few moments, and then nothing. "Hmm." He said. "That..." He stood up. "That's not good." He looked up at Cavalier and Stormbreaker. "It's as if they're brain dead, but if they are, how are they breathing? There's nothing physically wrong with them, but they're not responding, either." He was no expert on physiology, Lor or otherwise, but this raised an alarm in his head. Instantly, he was on alert. "Something is very wrong here." He said. "We need to tread lightly."
  9. For OOC purposes, Solar Sentinel is going to use his healing on one of the unconscious crew members.
  10. "Alright." He said. "You can take the lead on this. You're trying to end it without bloodshed, and you have a plan. I have nothing but respect for that." He had to admire her dedication to solving the situation without a fight. That, and her bold approach with him. Took a lot of guts to stand up to someone a full foot taller than you and about a hundred and fifty pounds heavier. "That Psion fella sounds like he's got a huge grudge with the Atoms, and it probably runs both ways. Now I can certainly try to help with what you're trying to do, but there's no guarantees in this business. With the bad blood between those folks and the Atoms, I doubt we can prevent a fight from happening altogether. But if we can weaken the opposition, that's a good thing. You want me to run interference with the Atoms. I can certainly try, but there's no way of knowing if that'll work." He turned and searched for a way out so he could go talk to the Atoms. If nothing else, he could give them information on the situation.
  11. Graft's suit has Grue origins, and I'd like him to stay in the dark about that for a while yet. Barring that, I don't entirely hate the notion.
  12. Graft's a doctor with a decent set of social skills. Adaptable and effective. Crimson Tiger's a lot like Shadowblade, though less subtle. Consider either one volunteered!
  13. "I say we take this place down hard." She whispered. "This is disgusting and needs to be dismantled, piece by piece." She was fairly certain that Wraith would concur. Her teammate was probably deeply offended by everything they saw here. She knew these people wanted some serious violence. They wanted a beat down, they wanted to see fighting. Well, if they wanted fighting, Crimson Tiger was happy to oblige them. Let them experience, firsthand, the sort of brutality they forced upon others. She was no murderer, of course, but a taste of real violence was probably more than bullies like them were prepared to tolerate.

  15. Graft reached for a nearby box and picked it up gently with his tentacles. When he found one that was light enough to move easily, he lifted it quietly and brought it closer to him. His plan was simple; touch the force field with the box, and see what happened. If it did no damage, then he would test it with a tentacle. If that did no harm, hammer at it until it broke. He sighed and gingerly touched the force field with the box.
  16. Solar Sentinel flew to the door and landed quietly as he could. He thought of the situation. He knew of the Atoms, though vaguely. He found the very idea of holding civilians hostage was detestable. With that in mind, he wasn't prepared to deal fairly or evenly with Jump, though he wouldn't throw the first punch. He hoped, perhaps, to extract a bit of information before attacking him. After all, learning about the situation at hand could help save lives. That always took priority over fights. He was prepared to fight, though. Always need to be prepared for a fight. He opened the door and looked inside. He didn't see whoever messed with the lights, but he did spot Jump. "Hey, where's the person who turned out the lights?" He said, firmly. If this Psion kid hurt them already, Henry was ready to attack.
  17. Ultimate toughness time
  18. Henry considered his options. he could not let this stand, yet he could not simply stand up. That would certainly get him beaten, and would do nothing but anger them. So, the riddle was simple, if difficult; How do you leave a crowded room and have no one see you? Henry was not a man of science. He did not know how fast a bullet was in open air. He did not know how fast an object could move before the human eye could perceive it. He did know two things; that the human eye cannot see a bullet in motion, and that he was faster than a bullet. So how do you leave a crowded room and have no one see you? You disappear. Henry vaulted upward as fast as he could and curved in midair once he had adequate clearance. He vanished from all visibility to a safe location, where he took his outerwear off and put on his mask. Solar Sentinel was on the job. With that done, he decided to investigate where the lights had been killed. Whoever did that was likely in danger, and if he had a chance to jump one of the Psions while they were separate, all the better.
  19. Building an Effective and Successful PC Disclaimer: Before you go on, remember this; play what you want. Build a PC you enjoy playing as, or think you will enjoy playing as, and run with it. Doesn't matter what other people have, it matters what you want. This advice is for turning your idea into a PC that people want to be in threads with. Not for telling you what to play. What does it mean to be effective? That's an interesting question, really. In a certain sense, it means to be good at what you want to be good at. It means that if it's your job to hit things, you hit them hard. If it's your job to figure things out, you can do that. Whatever your job is, you should be good at it. Since this game is point based and your PC should be meeting caps, effective is only relative to what you're trying to do, not what you can do. So, what about being successful? Getting into threads seems a fair measure of success. In general, the more successful PCs (the ones with lots of threads), are the ones who end up in group threads, and the ones that end up in group threads have something to contribute to that group. First, I'm going to talk about character sub-genre. Think about your favorite comic book super heroes. They all swim in circles with other heroes. You have your street level heroes, who focus on investigation, gangsters and drugs, for example. Which of the following character sets would you expect your PC to fight alongside? Daredevil/Moon Knight/Green Arrow Spider-Man/Luke Cage/Iron Fist Superman/Thor/Wonder Woman Blade/Ghost Rider/Morbius/Blue Devil/Etrigan/Dr. Strange/Dr Fate Silver Surfer/Nova/Green Lantern There's another way of looking at it. Which of the following is your character most likely to go after? A non-powered or low-powered mafia boss who rules the streets(Kingpin/Penguin/Tombstone) A villain who'd be tough to stop without any powers. (Green Goblin/Killer Croc/Captain Cold) A high level threat that threatens the entire world (General Zod/Loki/Ares) A magical villain or monster (Vampires, Demons, Eldritch Horrors) A threat from space that could destroy huge swathes of the galaxy/universe (Thanos/Darkseid/Galactus) The differences here are simple. The first category are street level. They rarely fight powered super-villains, and if they do, they're almost as dangerous without their powers. The second category dip in to the first category and the third, handling both street crime and the bigger stuff. The third category consists of the heavy-weight heroes. The ones who step up to global threats to the common populace. The fourth category handle magical or horror themed threats, and the fifth category deal with threats in space. Think about those heroes, and what sort of allies they could use against the villains in question. You need to occupy a certain sub-genre in order to 'fit in' naturally with those characters. No one wants to read stories about a hero who easily stomps all of his villains, or a hero who can't even touch a villain. If your PC fits in a sub-genre (street level, cosmic, horror, magic), odds are good people in that niche will eventually want to be in threads with your PC. So I guess what I'm trying to say is this; Take your idea. Whatever that idea is. Find a type of situation you want that character to fit naturally in, and build your PC with that idea in mind. You can take many different archetypes and ideas and fit them into several sub-genres of superheroes if you try.
  20. 26 Whew
  21. Crimson Tiger knew she couldn't afford to pull her punches in this situation. She had to hit hard, hit fast, and keep it up. She feinted the fighter out of his boots and watched as he overextended his defenses. The moment he left his head exposed, her right leg shot up and delivered a vicious snap kick to the side of his head. She watched him shake his head and lose focus for a split second, but it wasn't enough. Not nearly enough
  22. Mali was focused on defeating her foe. She was going all out, pulling no punches. Legion was falling for nearly every feint and taking a pounding, yet she still would not drop. She zig-zagged through Legion's defenses and landed a solid hit to the side of her head, and her foe was visibly hurt, yet still on her feet. This was getting ridiculous. Mali hoped that Giang could help find the real target, because Mali didn't feel she could disengage, not yet.
  23. DC27 TOU save, damage shifted. This ought to hit as well, 18
  24. Fully damage shifted, DC27 toughness save. This ought to hit, 22
