  1. "They're in the old office area, which is across the hall from the old cafeteria." he said. "Look, um, they'll be really mad if they found out I talked, so, could you maybe just knock me out?" He said, hands shaking. "You know, so nobody knows I said anything. 'Cause if they get you, they'll kill me, and I have a family, and I...I'm done with this business. I needed money, and...god I'm rambling aren't I."
  2. "O-okay, Ma'am." The man said, backing away. "It's...it's something someone wanted tested. Supposed to give powers or something." He sighed. "We're engineers, all we know is how to keep it from blowing the circuits of the whole school or from overheating. The people who actually know how it does what it does are the bosses of the operation."
  3. The man on the stretcher gasped in shock as he began to struggle against his bindings. He whispered hoarsely 'Is someone there to help me? Please, let that be someone here to help me.' he shook again, and the stretcher fell over. He continued to struggle against his bonds, heedless of what was clearly a fight breaking out. Either that, or he heard someone attack and was taking advantage.
  4. Oh this is a surprise attack; http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4338935/ Both scientists are out, as is one of the guards, and one of the guards is conscious, but dazed. Post away
  5. Approximately five minutes later, a man was brought in on a stretcher, he was obviously groggy, but waking up and nearly fully alert. There were two guards on hand, both obviously there to prevent the man on the stretcher from attacking the two scientists. They waited for another minute or so, then one of the scientists looked at the instrumentation. "Alright, it's ready, let's put him in there."
  6. That plan should work, I'll post IC
  7. The scientists continued observing the instrumentation on the machine while discussing the experiment. "T-Minus 6 minutes until we can go again." One of them said. Suddenly, two guards walked into the room and gave the place a cursory examination. "Okay." One of them said. "Six minutes and we'll bring the old guy we picked up today in." He said. "I'll remember that. You said bring him out of sedation first, right?" "Correct, we don't want him sedated for this, could interfere with the process." "Gotcha, see you in six."
  8. She spots a set of switches for the lights across the way on the same balcony. Two guards enter, but neither of them are looking up, and both walk out of the room, seemingly on patrol.
  9. Crimson Tiger dashed forward and came from above with a quick jab. The moment her opponent moved to block, she turned and delivered a vicious snap kick to her side, hoping to drop her opponent. "Okay, so, there are several of you, and you know martial arts. What are you even doing here?" She asked, exasperated. She hoped her friends were doing okay, but in the chaos, she really couldn't tell all that well. She was wondering how Thaelia and Tsumani were doing, and wondered if anyone had called the police. She also wondered where she got that neat collapsible staff from.
  10. Does a 16 hit the flat-footed foe? That's a fully shifted power attack there, for DC27
  11. Acrobatic bluff! 32! Same target
  12. The hallway poured out into a large room, what looked to be the gym. It had an upper balcony that covered the right side, and the middle contained a strange looking device with an empty metal box in the middle. It looked like it contained a makeshift coffin, and was connected with wires and tubes to the machine beside it. Four scientists stood around the box, discussing subjects. "So, subject A showed no signs of change, subject B is awaiting the machine." One of the scientist said. "The machine is cooling from the last test, and we can't afford a power surge on the network. That and I don't think this building could handle too much power at once."
  13. I'll post in the IC
  14. The voices are continuing to speak as though nothing happened, the closet contains nothing of note, but there is a map of the school in it.
  15. Invisible castle is being weird; 27
  16. Mali charged forward, hoping to take advantage of her foe's dazed state. Unfortunately, the other girl recovered just in time. Mali took a swing at her and though she made contact, the other girl rolled with the strike and it deflected harmlessly away. Mali cursed in Thai, yet she was kind of having fun. Nobody was at risk of dying, nobody was in severe danger. Instead, it was just two people fighting. She let herself enjoy fighting a skilled opponent. That was something she rarely got to do.
  17. Same target, just going for a normal attack; 25 DC22 TOU save for her to make if that hits
  18. Okay, this guy's luck is ridiculous, 20 so still feinted out of his boots 12 on his TOU save so he's out
  19. The blade managed to ting off the side of a protective plate under his suit and he turned and gasped. Seeing a woman step out from the shadows was apparently such a unique experience that he just stared. He made another gasping noise, and then tried to ready his weapon to fire, obviously shaken at nearly getting impaled by a sword.
  20. That...was an automatic save success. 26 Sorry, :/ Roll initiative! Guy got a 17
  21. Interview/20 Questions; After helping rescue a couple of people who had gotten into a car accident, Solar Sentinel had been pulled aside by a young reporter with a notepad and a recording device. He agreed to give the interview, which he was told would end up on a 'blog' which once he asked, was apparently an article on the internet. He really didn't mind the interview. Once he gave out his heroic ID and all that, the interview process began; 1. Okay, Solar Sentinel, where are you from? "I was originally born in Kentucky many years ago." 2. Any way you'd give us a clue as to what you look like under that mask? "Well, I'm taller than average. I have brown hair, brown eyes, short hair. I try to keep myself pretty average looking." 3. That's an odd accent, may I ask where it came from? "Space. Well, space and Kentucky. I was born on Earth, got kidnapped by aliens. So when I learned their language, I ended up with an alien/southern accent. I disguise it out of costume though." 4. What is your hero's motivation? "I fought in the Great War, though I suppose it's now called World War One. I then fought in a war in space. Nowadays I do what I do because it helps people, and I've fought so long I wouldn't know what to do if I didn't." 5. What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses? "My stubbornness is both, really. I push and push and push until I succeed. Sometimes I don't give up on something until it hurts me not to." 6. What do you love? What do you hate? "I love coming home every day and feeling like I did something. I hate it when something is just out of reach. That I can almost do it, but can't quite." 7. How would you describe your mental and emotional state? "I've spent the past year turning human again. I was a soldier for so long that I thought of things in combat terms. I'd go to a restaurant and look at it from a tactical perspective. Where are the exits, how strong is that countertop. It's paid off sometimes, but I do wish I could turn it off. I'm better than I was, but not where I want to be." 8. What do you fear the most? "That the soldier will just take everything else over. That I'll get to a point where I can't relax, where it's marching and drilling and fighting, with no room for me. I could have stayed in space and help clean up after the war, but frankly, that would have finished burning me out." 9. What is your greatest ambition? "To get to a point where I've saved more lives than I ever took. I don't suppose I'll ever lose that guilty feeling, but if I balance my, what is that word 'karma', I think I can live with that. You never get rid of it, but you can learn to live with it, you know?" 10. How do you hero about the state of the world and your place in it? "You know what? The world is a lot more complex than it used to be. Technology is so far ahead of where it was when I left that it wears me down sometimes. But then I see that people are trying to shut out hate and bigotry. I mean, when I left, I had these prejudices. These parts of me that said 'that's not right, that doesn't work', but then I found out that the universe is just so much bigger than a small minded man, and I couldn't dislike a man because his skin was a different color when there are people who aren't human, but still people. So when I see that we're striving to make a world where people are people no matter what color they are or who they love? I like that, I want to be part of that." 11. Do you have any prejudices? How do you get along with others? "I try not to, really. When I was in the Great War, it was easy to hate the Germans. They were the enemy, and when it's you and some other guy, each one trying to kill the other. You try not to think about their friends and family. Who might miss them. Now, now I make myself think about that stuff, so I remember why I'm fighting now. As far getting along, I feel like an alien on my own world. I don't know any technology or celebrities or anything. So I just sort of keep to myself. It can get lonely. 12. Where do your loyalties lie? In what order? "To life, to my homeworld, to my country. I love what this country tries to stand for, but the world is a lot bigger than that." 13. Do you have a lover or partner? How do they feel about you now? "I'm kind of dating this one lady, but other than that, no, not really." 14. Do you have a family? What is the relationship there like? "I have no living relatives that I know of. None of the ones I do have would know me anyway. In fact, I've never really had a family, not really." 15. How would the people closest to you describe you? "Stiff, boring, maybe. Nice, but boring." 16. Are you a role model? "I don't think so, but I'd be okay with it if some kids decided to emulate me. I'm trying to be a better person and to help people. I don't think there's anything wrong with trying to be like that." 17. How spiritual are you? Do you follow a religious tradition? "I don't feel comfortable answering that question. I just want to say that yes, I have faith, but I would rather keep things private on that." 18. Are you part of a team, or would you like to be? Why? "I'd like to be part of a team. I know my strengths and weaknesses, and I think I could do well in a group." 19. How do you feel about the place of metahumans and aliens on Earth? "If you've got something different about you, something that gives you an edge, you should use that for everyone's benefit. Help people. If you think you have a right to use that gift to hurt others, or to benefit yourself in spite of the harm it does to others, watch out. We will come for you." 20. If you could give one piece of advice to your hero, what would it be? Peace will come, Henry, and you won't have to fight forever. After the young lady got up with her recorder and notebook, Solar Sentinel went on his way.
  22. As she paused in one of the shadows, she heard the telltale sound of footsteps. A man, approximately six feet tall and carrying some sort of futuristic rifle, approached her. He was fairly alert, but made no sign if he noticed her. In fact, he was probably completely oblivious to her presence. She happened to stop about ten feet away from a supply closet, which he was approaching at a leisurely pace. She heard some chatter elsewhere, speaking too quietly to identify the subject of their discussion. They did, however, mention 'subjects', probably the homeless man and others.
  23. Okay, so, a man with a gun walks near her, completely unaware of her presence. Gonna post that IC.
  24. Mali moved in fast. This was the Meta-Grue. This could be very dangerous, even deadly. Freeing him might be on the list of things to do, but not with him in this state. Preferably, he'd be unconscious. Mali watched Wraith take a vicious hit. This was not good, not good at all. Still, she was light, she was fast, and she could hit hard. With any luck, they could do some serious harm to him. She feinted. He lashed out where she used to be, and she set him up for a vicious haymaker. The strongest hit she could throw. The hardest she could possibly hit. She slammed her fist into his side and...nothing. At all, didn't even register. Okay, new plan.
