Crimson Tiger nodded as she listened. Solid plan. Great plan...except for the fact that she had no idea where she was supposed to go to meet them. She could probably do some research, but even that would probably take a few hours. If she was going to be involved, she might want to know where to go to involve herself. Especially since these people might ask for her help again in the future. "I'm happy to help, but can I get an address or something? I don't know where you guys are meeting."

Crimson Tiger nodded. He was right. Dirty cops were a problem that could throw the entire operation out the window. She remembered stories about her grandfather, and how he couldn't always trust individual police officers. She waved the cigar off politely, saying. "I don't smoke." She didn't want to mention that she was underage, but she doubted she'd pick up the habit even after she could. Wouldn't do to chase down criminals while wheezing and coughing. She appraised the Mess a bit as they spoke. He was stocky, but strong. She could see why he was the one they sent in under cover. He looked like he'd knocked his fair share of heads in over the years. She couldn't be certain which of the two of them would win if it came to a fight. She was probably better trained overall, but his age and battle scars suggested he was far more experienced. She also suspected that his physique wasn't natural. Probably some sort of powers. She considered her role in the potential operation. She couldn't fight like this guy was. Not that Crimson Tiger was incredibly well known, but it wouldn't take much to find out that she was a hero. She had to stay in costume, unlike the others who either didn't have secret identities, or weren't really 'super heroes' in the traditional sense. "I think you're right. Dirty cops would make a mess out of any attempts we made to stop this. I can't just walk in there like you guys might be able to, but I'm happy to help. I think the best way to use my talents is the same way I did tonight. Sneak in, watch from the shadows, jump in when things need to get rough. If you guys need somebody to do that, I'm happy to help."

Well, Crimson Tiger knows both Temperance and Tsunami, and is a good friend of the latter, so there's that

As soon as the engines were down, Crimson Tiger visibly relaxed. "Good point. Can't do much with a ship that's dead in the water." She knew enough about mechanics to know that an engine can't move unless it makes noise, and began running back up to the top of the ship. As far as she knew or was concerned, she did what she could do to stop it.

Rolled a 20, Mali's not fooled

"I'm happy to help. There's dirty business going on at these things, and I think they should be shut down. I'm happy to do so, punching one bad guy in the face at a time." Crimson Tiger said with a chuckle. She glanced around. They'd done good work together. Having someone who was strong and smart would certainly help aim her skills on occasion.

It was luck that Tyrone heard a call for medical assistance over the din of the crowd. He also always brought an emergency kit with him. He mumbled an apology to his beautiful dancing partner and rushed towards the sound of the voice. The curse of duty, he said to himself. He could tell as soon as he entered the bar that it was a seedy place, and the tableau in front of him told him everything he needed to know, at least about who had shot whom. He rushed over to the injured man. "I'm a doctor. I can try to help." He said, putting his backpack down and fetching his portable medical kit. The creature wisely compressed away from the entrance of the bag, leaving no clue that it was in there. He never thought he'd actually need it, but he always brought it with him. It wasn't quite sufficient for bullet wounds, but it'd help. "Well, at least I have sterile tools." He said with a sigh. This would be rough, but he had faith in his medical skills.
-
Well, Graft is on the scene. With a -2 penalty for having an incomplete kit, he's got a 29

Crimson Tiger couldn't make heads or tails of the engine. She wasn't an expert on anything mechanical, not even remotely. So, she did the only thing she knew how to do in this situation; find someone who did know what to do, and make them do it. She spotted a man sulking in a corner and bolted towards him. She lifted him boldly off of his feet and slammed him against the wall. She needed this man to cooperate, or people might die. So she turned on the scary and roared. "Listen to me. I'm going to let you go, and you're going to go stop the engine right now. There are several men on this ship who are lying around in pain from broken bones and dislocated joints. Big, strong military guys. I can think of over a dozen incredibly painful things to do to a human being, and if you don't do what I say, I will start doing them to you."
-
Well, Mali's gonna grab somebody nearby and threaten bodily harm on them if they don't cooperate. Not normally her style, but this requires force, not finesse. 31 Oh, yeah, that really ought to work, lol Gonna post IC, if that post doesn't work, just let me know and I'll change it.

Meanwhile, Tyrone danced. He kept an eye out for pickpockets and such, knowing that a distracted American tourist would be the perfect victim. It wasn't often that a beautiful and underdressed woman approached him to dance, and he certainly couldn't deny her, or himself her company. His dance moves left something to be desired, but it wasn't as if he was completely awkward and useless. If nothing else, his enthusiasm and charm made him better than a laughingstock.
-
12 on a dance check. Tyrone's a little better than average, but he won't be making money off those skills at any point

Tyrone grinned. Rio stretched out before him as he exited the airport. This would be a fantastic vacation. He adjusted the knapsack on his back, containing the suit. He wore something light that would help keep the sweat off. He knew that Rio in June would be stifling, and came prepared. He had several things on his mind to do, take in the sights, sounds and tastes. He'd brought the suit along just in case, and because it was basically a pet that he trusted only himself to care for. Last time he'd been to Brazil, he'd come with his family. Now that he was alone, he could experience it on his own. He looked forward to the festivities.
-
Graft felt the hits strike him as he gazed up at Hellfire. He felt the intense heat of the flames, but had yet to be harmed by them. His eyes narrowed, the target was above him. At once, the suit obeyed his mental commands and shifted more mass into his legs as he took off with a shot. He took one look at Hellfire and balled up his fist. He slammed his hand into her, practically spiking her like a volleyball. She blasted away from her position, away from the building. Graft turned over in mid-air and hit the ground with a thud. "I think you fail to see the situation for what it is. I will not permit you to harm anyone in this building, or anywhere else." He said, his voice transforming from his normal tenor into a deep bass, a low growl augmented by the suit filtering his voice to disguise it.
-
She heard that, and growled to herself. She didn't want to have to sink the ship, because she knew that would mean some of the people could die. She'd rather try to stop the ship before it came to that, but she was prepared to let it sink if that's what it took. She spotted three more men, these armed with pipes. "Listen, you jerks." She growled, ducking under a strike. "I don't care how many bruises or broken bones I gotta deal out, I am stopping this ship." She said, punctuating her words with a vicious combination of punches. She turned and kicked another in the abdomen and sent him falling over. She grabbed the last one and just threw him to the side, deciding that she had to run as fast as she could. Then, at long last, she spotted it. A door with the big words 'Engine Room' written on them. She picked up the pace and looked the door over. It was metal, but the hinges didn't look extremely tough. She got the door and, barely slowing down, delivered a fierce straight kick to it, knocking it over with a thud. Finally, she thought as she looked around for something to hit the engine with...

Rolled a 15 on attack, probably not good enough so I'll go ahead and reroll with an HP Whelp, a natural 20 (aka 30)

recruitment Against the Fearsome Five (PL 7-8 Thread)
Thunder King replied to Gizmo's topic in Archives
Solar Sentinel's an old soldier and a classic paragon. He's got turn of the century values (expanded by exposure to alien worlds and civilizations, naturally), so I think he'd have an interesting dynamic with young people. Would he protect them out of a sense of honor and duty, or would he roll his eyes or gaze sternly at them in disapproval for antics? I think there's potential for interpersonal interaction and potential conflict (though he's goal and detail oriented and wouldn't end up accidentally throwing things off course). That's my pitch, an old soldier with old (but forgiving) values and a lot of honor and integrity. I think that it would actually be a pretty funny interaction with Set and Sekhmet. -
28 on the first Tou save 29 on the second

Graft scoffed. These guys were barely worth the effort, but he couldn't afford to ignore them. They might turn on the civilians, and he couldn't permit that. He also didn't want to reveal too much of what the suit could do before fighting stronger foes. Relying on the self-defense classes he'd taken years ago, he lashed out with a one-two combo on the first thug before delivering a swift kick to the stomach of a third. He whipped around and delivered a fierce haymaker to a fourth, before knocking a fifth on his back with a brutal uppercut. He hoped they'd assume the suit was just as stiff as a human body. When he fought the real threat, he'd be able to pull a few tricks out from under his sleeve and hopefully end the fight quickly.

Taking 10 for a 20 on the first minion. As he has Takedown 2, I'm gonna take 10 on every minion I can. He's also got a speed of 2,200 feet per round, so...

"That...that's kind of odd. I'm no expert on ships, but, powered by people? People nowadays are on about clean energy, but that's a stretch." He turned to Cavalier. "So how many years were you gone again? Got any family you're planning on going back to?" He felt a little bored, but also felt that maybe the younger man might appreciate a little empathy. After all, the situation was weird and stressful. Back in the war, asking the men about their families was a way he got them to relax.
