  1. "I've got a nice little apartment, not that far from here, actually." He chuckled. "Not much to it, but I don't spend a lot of time at home anyway, so it doesn't matter. I'm a firefighter, see, so home is a place I see occasionally." He shrugged and sipped his coffee. "What about you?" He asked. "Where's home for you?"
  2. "I wouldn't know where to start, really." Mali answered honestly. "I mean, even if we found the guy who got away, who's to say he could lead us anywhere?" She shrugged. "If we're goign to do this, we have to get different transportation, get our gear, and do this properly. That probably means on foot, but there's nothing we can do about that." She looked from girl to girl, knowing full well she could be ready in very short order.
  3. Voltage nodded. "They're probably some combination of stupid and really good at their jobs. Stupid for attacking this place, but might be good enough to think they can pull it off. Too dangerous to take them on solo." He said. He was no good at assessing foes, and figured it wouldn't be a terrible idea to bring along an ally. Especially one who had as many unusual tricks as Supercape. He'd read up on the files of every known genius or tech expert in the superhero community, at least what he could deduce and glean from public records. That way if he ever met up with any of them, he'd be able to deduce how to use his powers best in conjunction with theirs. Of course, as he was less famous or well known than most of them, he didn't anticipate that they would do the same with him. Not that it mattered, for all of his intellect, Voltage's approach was as direct and simple as it was effective.
  4. Voltage's eyes narrowed, his foe was clearly hurt, but not down. He couldn't risk allowing the brute to resume fighting, he was dangerous, too dangerous. Current flowed through his body, lighting his entire body up. Using this much power was always a bit risky, but he calculated everything properly. It would throw his aim off a bit, but the extra power should help a lot. He was glowing, a white hot aura flared around him, that was new. His vision shifted for a moment, brightening the area around him as if his eyes were glowing. A flash of pain coursed through his arms as the faint smell of ozone filled the air. A crack of thunder filled the air as the current struck home, sending his target staggering back and, finally, down. That was new, his powers had never hurt before. He shunted that thought aside to concentrate on the battle at hand. He'd have to perform tests later.
  5. Voltage is -really- tired of this guy, so he's going to go all out; damage shifting for two and applying extra effort; 22 hit? IF it does, DC29 TOU save
  6. Mali leaned into Koshiro a bit and sighed, as if relaxing. He was right, of course, it was a great night for a movie. She was glad that Koshiro didn't seem put off by her muscles, or that she was likely stronger than him. He seemed to see her as a cute girl, which, in her mind, made things a lot easier, and a lot more pleasant. "Heroing is rewarding...and exciting, but there's no point in living an otherwise boring life." She took some popcorn and popped it in her mouth, munching quietly. For one of her very first dates ever, things were turning out fine.
  7. Mali listened to the others, and nodded. While helping with the packing might be a way to pass the time, she knew that tedious work would only get her more worked up, so the best thing she could do would be to go get something to eat, make sure her gear was all set to go, and train a little to get the nervous energy out. There was no point in letting anticipation overwhelm her, or cloud her judgment. "Well I'm going to go get something to eat, make sure my stuff's all ready to go, and maybe train a bit to help keep me from bouncing off the walls. I'm really on edge right now." She briefly considered other options, but frankly, her mind was going into 'combat mode' and she'd prefer training over other distractions. Training, at least, would be something physically demanding, which would also help her sleep. Otherwise, she'd stay up all night and could end up in trouble when she'd otherwise need to focus.
  8. Voltage narrowly dodged his foe's headbutt as he backed up, energy coursed through his body as his anger rose. This guy was taking everything he had, and still coming despite it. Voltage was going to have to get desperate soon if his foe did not relent. He teleported away as silver current flowed backwards and upwards. Reforming in mid air, he glared down at his enemy, who despite the damage was still coming. He clasped his hands and separated them, letting the electricity flow between them. He did as he did every time; he calculated the angles, carefully measured the current, made sure it wasn't even remotely off, a slight variation could prove harmful, if not lethal, to his target. He never under-estimated or over-estimated the force he would need. He was just that good. The bolt found it's target and lit him up, sending the current flowing through his body, doubtlessly doing at least a little harm, hopefully knocking him out. When Voltage saw he was still up, he cursed under his breath.
  9. Frying Angcrist with lightning then teleporting away, because Voltage is not fond of getting hit by large angry people
  10. Mali gave a chuckle at the good natured teasing, and listened intently to Sharl. The plan was dangerous, but not without preparation, if they were the right combination of lucky and good, it should be a rather easy in and out situation. She nodded to Sharl, letting him know she'd been paying close attention. "Just let me know when and where I need to do what." She said, looking at the others. "I think, with the Wonderbus and everything else, we should be able to do this. I hope, at least..." She probably seemed as nervous as she felt, but this was why she signed on, to help people. Still, might get crazy.
  11. Mali sighed. "We have good days, and bad days, those guys were hopped up on drugs, meant to make them stronger and faster, very dangerous. You were caught off guard by foes you had never seen before, and without your weapons. Considering the tactical situation, you did very well." She smiled, but then stopped. Something seemed to be wrong, something more than just a couple of idiots.
  12. Within a few minutes, the two found themselves at a nearby cafe, having ordered. With his coat and hat off, it was obvious that Henry was a large man, dressed in slacks and a short-sleeved button up shirt. All of his clothing was neatly pressed, and his hair was cut neatly. All in all, he looked well groomed. He sipped his coffee, and put it down. "Nothing like a cup of coffee to warm you up from a chill." He said. "I confess, I'm not used to small talk." He was awkward, and nervous. He cursed himself, he wasn't supposed to be as awkward as he was, but then again, he hadn't had the chance to talk to a lady in...about eighty years. After that long of a time, he'd be out of practice.
  13. Voltage managed to dodge the flying swarm, dancing out of way as it dove at him. He twisted in mid air and sent a blast of silvery energy at them. He watched as it coursed through the swarm, probably doing significant damage and frying it in the process. He hoped that Jessica was doing okay on her end of the bargain. Whoever was attacking this place wasn't very smart, but they were certainly dangerous. Sometimes, that was worse. He shook his head and concentrated on his foe, the other thing that was out there attacking him. This was going to suck a lot before he finished the fight.
  14. "You'd think attacking a building full of genius superhero scientists wouldn't be a good idea." He said, glancing around. His body dissolved into cascading silvery current as he vanished into thin air, reappearing on the ground floor. He sought the stairs, trying to intercept them. He also looked around, trying to find any security to see if any of them had encountered the intruders. He didn't know who they were, but if they were organized, they just might be good enough to be a legitimate threat to the lab. He didn't anticipate fighting them alone, but he was fast enough, and smart enough, to keep them distracted until help arrived.
  15. Mali said an inappropriate word under her breath them moment she spotted Tona running towards the bathroom. And here, they were having so much fun. She rushed through the crowd, relying on her agility and speed to make sure the crowd didn't slow her down. She barged through some, dodged around others, and evaded them all in general, not wanting to draw attention to herself, but also wanting to make sure Tona was okay.
  16. Voltage is going to teleport to engage the ones on the first floor and hold them off for reinforcements. How long will it take him to find the intruders?
  17. Mali couldn't hope to properly understand the scope of everything. Other dimensions, Nazi robots, biological warfare, sentient computer programs in need of help? It was all so crazy. Probably over her head, probably more than what she thought she'd get into when she put the costume on. Stop some muggers, maybe foil a robbery or two. All these aliens and alternate universes and Nazi robots still seemed so far beyond her, so different from her life at home. Still, there were people in danger, people who needed help. Mali was in a position to help them, and to her, that was all that really mattered. Saving lives, making the world a better place. Even if it was a different world she was making better. Maybe getting the chance to punch out some Nazis just sounded like a neat bonus. She was nervous, maybe even a little scared, but she was going to help, because that's why she became a superhero. "It sounds like there are people who need help, and it sounds like we can help them. That's why I put the costume on, so I'm in."
  18. Added Speed of Thought, an additional rank in Luck, Improvised Tools, Skill Mastery and Power attack to feats, in addition to an additional rank in attack focus ranged. Got him ranks in craft mechanical and more ranks in knowledge technology an extra rank in device, which gives him two more points of shield, an extra point in protecton, and immunity to suffocation. six points in feats Five points in skills Two points to the array (and cascading down into further changes in that) Three points to boost exotic saves His caps are currently not all to the same level, but I plan on doing another set of edits soon that will bring him to PL12 evenly. CONDUCTED by GIZMO
  19. Henry respected her decision to cover the concessions, though back in his day, you had popcorn, maybe, and that was it. "Seems we're all set." He said, nodding politely and smiling. The movie was as good as he remembered it, and, to his surprise, people in the theater seemed to think so too. Apparently, it had become a 'classic and iconic piece of cinematic history', something one of the young people dressed in odd clothing remarked upon. Still, despite the movie's quality, he found himself concentrating more on the lady beside him during the movie. She was nice, friendly, pretty, and seemed to have a certain, something he couldn't put his finger on. A quality to her that was timeless, classic and made him want to know her better. As they stepped into the cool October night, he pulled his hat back over his head and smiled at the lady beside him. "Ma'am, it seems that a bit of a chill is in the air tonight. I was wondering if you would do me the honor of joining me for coffee. I know a place that makes a fine cup of coffee not that far down the road, maybe grab a bite to eat too?"
  20. "Ma'am, if you require the permission of your parents, I'm afraid I'd be worried. I am grateful, though, it is nice to see a movie with someone." He did not ask her what was next on his mind, that being whether or not she'd like to go out for coffee and a bite afterwards. He'd wait, patiently, until after the movie. If she found him insufferable, there'd be no point in asking a question like that. "Two for Nosferatu, please." He said to the lady in the window. He figured he'd cover her ticket, and if she were a 'modern woman' she could insist on paying for her own if she wanted to. But back in his day, it wasn't right for a man to let a woman pay for her own way like that, there were rules about that sort of thing. Still, this was a different time, and he knew it would be prudent to listen to her if she insisted on paying for her own. After all, offending the lady was hardly his idea of smart.
  21. Consciousness came slowly to Asad, drifting him in and out of sleep for an unspecified period of time. Eventually, he managed to open his eyes, and saw a man standing in shadow. "Ah, you're finally awake. Good. Your powers are miraculous, you know. We see so many of you supers around that we forget what it means to be human." The man stepped closer, but was far too back lit to have his face visible. "But people also forget, what it used to mean to be human. We are always evolving, beyond what we are now. We are always changing. I believe, sincerely, in human potential. The world has a bright future, Mr. Misri, and I believe you're going to help me help humanity." Suddenly, pain wracked Asad's body, and he was aware of his situation; bound by some sort of device that connected him to all sorts of machinery. "You seem to know the score, at least a bit, with your refusal to hide your identity, you understand, don't you, what those silly names and costumes ultimately mean. They mean nothing. Symbolism that will one day be worthless. These superhuman gang wars, heroes, villains, all of it is meaningless. I am one of the rare few in this world with real vision. The definition of what it means to be human is changing. Human limits, human frailties, they are becoming a thing of the past. Look at you, are you even human anymore? You are so much more than what you were, are you even mortal anymore?" He asked, letting his words sink in. "Virtually indestructible, immune to common ailments that fell lesser men. In any other world, by any other definition, Mr. Misri, you would be a god. But there are so many gods now, aren't they? How long, do you think, will it be before the 'ordinary human' can fly, or shoot electricity? How long will it be before humanity is completely redefined." The device turned on again, and Asad's world was pain for a few moments. "But I do not have time, Mr. Misri, to permit these changes to happen at their own pace. Humanity is at the brink of divinity, of a world where people will all possess powers, where the ability to fly will be as common as the ability to walk. I know, that some people will not make it. Some people simply will not be strong enough to survive. That is regrettable, but every revolution is born out of blood, all great change needs sacrifice. I am leading humanity into a golden age, Mr. Misri, and it will be glorious, wonderful age. For those that survive." Yet again, pain wracked Asad's body, but this time, he did not withstand the pain, and sleep took him again.
  22. Voltage growled in pain as he flew away from the vicious fighter. He fired off a blast of electricity, but couldn't seem to hurt his foe. This was getting ludicrous, these foes were taking far more punishment than they should have, and he knew that the time was coming where Dr. Green would be able to escape despite his attempts to stop him. It wasn't working, there must be a way to deal with the quickly.
  23. "I was planning on taking in this show by myself, but plans can certainly change." He said with a smile and shrugged. "I don't know anyone who would have come with me. It's been a very long time since I was in the company of a woman, see, so I can't guarantee I won't be a little rusty. However, if you're willing to put up with a man who hasn't been out in a long time, I was wondering if you would do me the honor of sitting near me, and enjoying this film with me."
  24. Mali smiled and nodded "Yeah, I am..." She said after settling into the paper seat. She sounded surprised, but realized she shouldn't be, Koshiro seemed to be quite talented with his powers, after all. She tried her best to relax, but it was clear that she was worried that something might happen. "If I seem a bit nervous, it's because of this crazy city. It's like a giant monster might pop out of the movie screen or something, you know?" She laughed. Being a super hero meant a lot of cool things, but it also meant never truly being off duty, not completely. There was always a chance that Mali would have to gear herself up for a fight. Most days she didn't care, but she was on an honest to goodness date, and she crossed her fingers and hoped that nothing would interfere.
