Mali nodded. "Sure!" She said. "That works for me, do you guys have anything against that?" Besides, clubs tended to be dark places. Her muscular arms would probably go at least a little unnoticed in such a dark place. The music wasn't her type, but she could see having fun, maybe meeting cool people. She grinned at the three other girls. "Well, I think we look good." She grinned, at least hiding her nerves convincingly. The others were right. If a guy didn't like her because she was strong, that was on him, not her. Still, she was still nervous. Old habits do die hard.

Voltage floated downward until he could see her eye to eye. He gave her a quick look over. Obvious spider theme, web powers of some sort. Her natural agility lent itself to stealth, likely. Definitely an asset in this situation. "Hello, my name is Voltage." He said, smiling politely and nodding. "I found a previous theft earlier, and the data trail lead me here. Can I assume something similar?" He glanced back at the building. Full of thugs, illegal goods, and who knew what else. Caution was ideal here.
-
Voltage spotted the other hero swing down, and inwardly sighed. He was glad to have assistance in this situation. Allied heroes were never a bad thing in his eyes. Sometimes really bad situations turned out only mostly bad because someone else was there to help. He flew up and over so that they wouldn't see him, and then sent a very tiny spark towards her to make his presence known. He raised his hands up in a friendly gesture to let her know he was there to help. He did hope that she wouldn't turn and attack him, sometimes, heroes did that when they didn't know who the other was. He hoped she was smart enough to know the difference.

Mali smiled politely and shook Eira's hand. "The campus is a cool place to see, lots of interesting things" She looked over the motley crowd that were with Sharl. "So where are you guys going to next? What have you seen so far?" She'd heard of Miss Americana a few times, but hadn't met her. Privately Mali thought that the idea of a female superhero not just being pretty, but being strong and very smart was really cool. She'd often wanted to meet more superheroes, but she supposed that would come with age and graduation.

Mali stifled a giggle at Sam's silliness. Her friends were making her more comfortable, but she was still kind of nervous. Her strong, muscular arms were clearly visible, something she was not used to. She'd have to not call attention to them. Who knows, maybe someone would like her like this? She had to practically slap her hands away from grabbing at a nearby jacket. She'd do her best, for tonight, not to hide herself behind long sleeves and baggy clothes. Tomorrow though? Totally different story.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Office (IC)
Thunder King replied to Raveled's topic in Wading Way
Voltage roared in pain as the tiny swarm of bugs attacked him. Not to be deterred, he teleported, discorporating into electrical current before reappearing nearby. He gathered energy into his hands and sent a burst of current into Hive Tyrant's body. The villain was still on his feet, but looked a little worse for wear. He fired off another email, asking Ironclad how she was doing. -

"Oh, so she's yours, okay..." It was clear that she had been confused, even worried about the dog before it became evident who she belonged to. Obviously, spectral dogs weren't her specialty, and she wasn't sure how to handle it. The relief on her face was obvious. Knowing it was Sharl's meant that it was (probably) okay. "Did you run off, Lora?" She said, using that cutsey tone of voice many people did when interacting with animals. "Yeah, she did, I think it's close." She said, clearly unwilling to try to find the frisbee with her own hands. She wasn't sure if that's exactly what it was, either. Could have been anything, wasn't about to test it by grabbing at it.

Mali looked down at the strange dog and, for a moment, looked worried. He seemed friendly enough, but between jumping through her and carrying a glowing object, she had plenty of reason to worry. Her limited experiences in superheroics taught her that you never touch a glowing object you don't understand. "Hi strange...ghost doggie. Are you lost? Is that your toy? Where are you from?" She dropped down and looked for some form of identification. A tag, perhaps? She didn't try to reach out and touch him, figuring that was probably a moot point.

Player Name: Thunder King Character Name: Winter Ghost Power Level: 8 120/120 PP Trade-Offs: -2 Defense/ +2 Toughness Unspent Power Points: 0 Progress To Bronze Status: 0/30 In Brief: Former subject of Nazi experimentation turned superhero Alternate Identity: Heinrich Abendroth Identity: Secret Birthplace: Steinach Germany Occupation: Security guard Affiliations: None Family: Johann Abendroth (deceased), Amalinda Abendroth (deceased) Description: Age: 98 (DoB: January 23rd, 1914 Apparent Age: 30 Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 6'6" Weight: 265 Eyes: Pale blue Hair: Brown Heinrich is tall, possessing striking, rugged features. He often scowls, with brows furrowed and mouth drawn down. He hasn't needed to pay any attention to his appearance in quite some time, so his face is often dotted with the beginnings of a beard. A few scars from his days in isolation cover his body, notably on his forehead, arms, chest and legs. History: Heinrich was born in Steinach Germany to Johann and Amalinda Abendroth in the winter of 1914. They both passed away shortly after his 21st birthday to the flu. Like everyone else, he suffered through the great depression. Like everyone else, he was angry at the treatment Germany recieved at the conclusion of the Great War. Like everyone else, he cheered the rise of Adolf Hitler's Nazi party. He saw it as a chance for Germany to grow and change. In July of 1939, Heinrich volunteered for an experimental treatment that would make him into Germany's own native superhero. He'd been told that he'd be fighting crime and corruption within Germany. Soon after the experiment was a success, he found out the truth; he was to help the invasion of Poland. Heinrich had not signed on to be a soldier, but a hero. Horrified by the revelation, he fled the military, heading for a remote border town southwestern Germany. He set to work disrupting Germany's troops, and rumors spread through the German troops of the Gespenst der Winter...the Winter Ghost. He hit them fast, hit them hard, and vanished into the night. Whole divisions of troops would awaken to find their supplies ravaged and several members badly wounded. With his superhuman attributes Heinrich's one man war against the Nazi regime got their attention. He had been living in a small cottage alone, living off the land when they came for him. Someone in the village had sold him out. Desperate to escape from their net and embittered by the betrayal, he fled as fast and as far as he could. He stayed off the roads and traveled south, ever southward. Dodging troops here and there, he found himself at the sea. To all that asked, he said he was an expatriat of Germany who hated the Nazi regime with a burning passion. Sometimes they accepted that, other times not. His travels eventually took him to a remote, uncharted island in the Mediteranean sea. Disgusted with his own country and humanity in general, he resolved to sit out the war in isolation. So he did, from 1940 on. For over seventy years he lived on that island. He was alone, but not lonely. Survival was a struggle for a while, but he soon learned to fish and what was safe for eating. He assumed the war eventually ended, but couldn't imagine what the world looked like. He had grown to enjoy his isolation too much, so there he stayed. In September of 2011, an airplane on it's way from America crashed into the water right near his island. There was never any doubt in his mind as he dove into the water. Using his incredible strength and endurance, he dragged the survivors from their destroyed craft. They marveled at the bronzed German wild man, who couldn't speak a word of English. He was a stranger for the few days they spent on the island with him, insisting on staying elsewhere while they awaited rescue. Their dress and mannerisms were all but alien to him, and even his German was too rusty to be of much use. Soon, a rescue ship arrived and took the Americans off the island. He hid from them, content to remain alone. However, fate would disagree. Some days later, a helicopter arrived on his island. Three men climbed out of it and explained who they were, and where they were from. They explained how long it had been, that the Nazis had lost. They asked him what he could do and he demostrated. They told him that he had two choices; he could stay on his island, or he could come with them and see the modern world. For the first time in many years, Heinrich was lonely. The brief contact he'd had with the survivors had left pangs in his heart. He'd missed humanity, food, clothing. So, he agreed to come with them to America. America was the land of the free, the home of the brave. He marveled at the modern world, amazed and overjoyed at the promise the future represented. They hid the true horrors of the war from Heinrich for weeks. Then, one bitter November day, they took him to the Holocaust museum in Washington D.C.. There were no words for the horror, the rage, and the crushing despair that he felt while walking through it. Afterwards, he took off for a nearby park and climbed into one of the tallest trees, sitting and contemplating the world around him. There was good, and evil in the world. People suffered, lived and died. Heroes fought, villains schemed. All of this went on whether he was on his island or not. On that tree in Washington DC, Heinrich resolved to do some good in the world, and he knew the perfect way (and the perfect place) to do it. Personality & Motivation: Heinrich is a grim, cynical man. Humanity has seldom given him a reason to hope. His experiences have burned all of the superficiality out of him, leaving a man who always speaks his word (when he speaks at all). Still, he has always been good at speaking, and is well versed in old-world politeness and civility. So while he may not speak a lot, he always says things worth listening to. Heinrich sees the world in dark shades of gray, afraid that at any moment another Hitler could rise up and destroy more lives. What little innocence he sees has earned his steadfast protection. He believes that the good in the world is worth protecting, and is prepared to give his life to do so. Powers & Tactics: Though he is superhumanly strong, tough and agile, Heinrich prefers a subtler approach to heroism. He uses tactics he developed during his disruption of Nazi supply lines that were further honed when he had to hunt for survival. He uses stealth and shadows to stalk his prey, striking fast and hard whenever he can. He is a large man with a deep voice, and uss both of those as weapons to frighten his foes into making stupid mistakes. When pressed, however, Heinrich is a skilled fighter who's superhuman attributes enable him to fight with far stronger opponents, at least until he can regain his advantage and slink away again. Complications: Secret: Identity. Other Secret: Heinrich is unwilling to discuss his past out of fear for distrust. Former Nazi experiment subjects aren't very well regarded, and he knows it. He's willing to go to great lengths to protect that. Hatred: Nazis and other racist groups. Whether the original version or NeoNazis, Heinrich has a burning hatred and disgust for the Nazi regime and all who share their viewpoints. He's very likely to hit first, ask questions never. Guilt: He had no idea how bad Germany was going to get, but nevertheless guilt drives him. It wouldn't be especially hard to exploit this emotion. Distrusts Authority:He has bad experiences with governments in his life. While he loves America, he doesn't trust authority figures much. Cynical: Heinrich is likely to think the worst from any situation he's in. Sometimes that leads him to be prepared for the worst, other times it blows up in his face. Malii watched Sam walk off with amusement. She certainly added some color, that was for sure. She turned her attention towards the dresses, eying something in black. It was sleek, sleeveless and cute, yet tasteful. The skirt reached the knees and was loose enough to sway while she walked. She reached over and plucked it up, admiring the soft cloth. She stepped inside one of the dressing rooms and quickly changed. When she stepped back out, she wasn't wearing her usual covering. Instead, her strong, muscular shoulders and upper arms were exposed. She blushed slightly, excited and very, very nervous. The skirt indeed reached just above her knees, black and simple, with a little bit of room to move in. The top had just a little bit of low neckline, showing off her strong shoulders and neck while stopping above the chest. W-well? How do I look?"

"I know, I know...I shouldn't care. It's just that, well, I hardly had any friends where I used to go to school. It was a bunch of rich, stuck up kids. I train hard, and all they ever thought about was how to use their parents' money in the stupidest ways they could..." She reached forward and hugged Tona firmly. "You're right, I shouldn't care. Thank you for being my friend." She smiled. "Now, I need to have a new outfit, I'm not going out in this..." She said, pointing down at her bland, if somewhat stylish, outfit. Then she grinned. "And so do the rest of you."

Voltage was following a paper trail. Well, a data trail. Some suspicious looking thefts here and there lead him to believe that something major was going down. He just didn't know what. He'd followed it to this warehouse, assuming the trail would finally start giving answers. The storm's flashes didn't bother him, Voltage had no fear of lightning. He did, however use the clouds as cover. His dark costume was perfect cover. He hovered above them, hoping they wouldn't see him gazing down at the warehouse. He observed their guns as his keen mind began to formulate a plan.

Mali smiled nervously. "No...oh, I'm okay. I mean, I can't, I mean...no..." Memories of getting teased for her physique flooded back into her mind as she stood there, putting her hands behind her back and looking down. For the first time ever in front of her friends, she looked nervous, even bashful. "Guys...guys don't like it when you can bench press more than they do. It intimidates them...then they start calling you all sorts of names, like freak, or worse...no, I'm okay. I know how to dress well for myself, thank you..."
-
Mali shook her head. "Tona, wear what feels comfortable. I know what it's like to get attention you don't want." She said, rubbing her arms self-consciously. "You do look good..." She said. "But remember, whatever you wear is going to be something you have to be comfortable with strangers seeing." She shrugged. "But hey, dress the way you think works." She said with a smile. "But yeah those zip tie cuffs, well, don't work..." She admitted. "Think about who we're going to be around, Tona. And what sort of impression you'll make on them. It's always important to present yourself the way you want to be seen. I don't know if baring your midriff is something you want people to base their opinions on..."

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Office (IC)
Thunder King replied to Raveled's topic in Wading Way
Within less than a second, Voltage got the email. Less than a second after that he had a plan. Voltage floated overhead as soon as 'Hive Tyrant' made his way outside. His arms were crossed. "Going somewhere?" He said, looking down at the strange figure below him. He realized what he'd done, and shrugged it off. It was inevitable that she figure it out, especially with her intelligence. Besides, having someone who knew was an asset, especially someone who was also a hero and also a genius. It was a good way to deal with the isolation he felt from his family, to relate to someone on such a level was bound to be useful. He made sure to be ready in case Hive Mind attacked. -
Voltage shook his head. "So...it's my job to beat up on unpleasant people today?" He looked to Joe, and Joe's chair. "This is probably some form of incorporeal entity taking over peoples' nervous systems. I don't think an electric wheelchair can possess people and give them super powers." Ironclad did not look like she could take too many hits by this guy. If she did, she'd pass out, or worse. "Ironclad, are you okay to fight? I don't think whatever this is can hurt me, so, worse comes to worse, you can leave and I can finish it. I know that doesn't sound ideal to you, but I don't want to see anyone hurt." If she insisted on fighting, he just might have to throw himself in the way of the attack to protect her.
