  1. Mz Grue After a few minutes of trying to grapple with the swamp beast, Daphne decided on a slight change of tact. Obviously, the fact that she towered even over Tom made it difficult to get a good grip on the foe, so she shrunk back down to her normal height. But as she did, she made her body denser, making it more difficult to move if he managed to get a hold of her. Initially, the plan seemed to be working, but whilst her smaller form allowed her to get a solid hold his strength meant she just couldn't keep the hold for very long, let alone be able to do anything beyond that. "Well, this isn't going according to my plan!" Hopefully, the others were having a better go at things.
  2. o7 Craft (Electronics): 1d20+15=34
  3. Are the tracking and shutdown d=code small enough to share, with maybe Peri doing a little tweaking on the web? If not is it possible to isolate the frequency(s) the drones are using to make it easier for the others to track?
  4. Emerald Spider Peri had expected time to be tight so had this all in mind "Hi I know a lot going on right now but can I just borrow these for a second?" she quickly plucked some paper and pen from a bystander. Maybe she should consider some pouches or something on the costume. Connie, Sorry have to run, but take a look at this and tell me what you think. Someone is going to pick it up pretty quickly, don't get in their way! I'll explain when I can, I know this great little nearby Kimchi place that does takeout! Emerald Spider Putting the note on the windshield, she did a signature and a little sketch of Emerald Spider before giving the supplies back to their owner. then with a little wave, she took to the air looking for the next vehicle in her hunt.
  5. Emerald Spider "I'll explain it a bit, just stand well back for now!" She had an idea—it was risky, but it was worth a shot! As the car barreled towards her, she timed it at the last second. Placing a hand on the bonnet, she flipped into the air, hand standing as she applied the shutdown before carrying on to land on her feet behind the car. It was slightly spoiled by her clutching her side and wincing a little, her timing had been a smidge of! With a lack of a reversing death machine, she quickly put another idea into action. "Hey, do you know Professor Wallace down in engineering?" Having been here once, she knew how to pick out a student and had often helped out the Engineering staff in the past. "Quickly go tell her about this drone car here. I'm sure they'll want to poke at the car whilst they can!" She'd learnt back when getting the SPIDR Rig never to trust a corporation completely, and a second opinion was worth a try. Having worked with the University before they knew how to contact her and tell her if they found anything interesting...
  6. Centuria Kate landed with a little slide, using the momentum to turn around and run back towards the werewolf. Without the tools of her heritage (yet) she had to rely on keeping this artificial beast busy whilst others tracked down its master (mistress?). So another leap and another punch, keep the plastic foe focused on her and Carmen. "Let's see how long you can do this wolfie!"
  7. Start with the computer Hack the Computer: 1d20+15=32, if time is good will look at the books Knowledge (Business): 1d20+5=22. Lock are a little beyond both of them, so on the oft change will quickly search the place for some keys Search: 1d20+15=27.
  8. Toughness Save: 1d20+10=15, HP for a reroll Toughness Save: 1d20+10=16. So that 20 marginally better! Try to keep it distracted with acrobatics before attacking Acrobatic Bluff: 1d20+15=17, Attack: 1d20+14=27! If that doesn't shut it down then I'll spend another precious HP to keep moving and draw Carbot away from innocents.
  9. As requested Bluff: 1d20+10=13, eh let's throw in an HP for a reroll Bluff: 1d20+10=26
  10. Initiative: 1d20+4=10 Now that's how you do a bad initiative!
  11. The Immutable Betsy Brooks Demon didn't need help that often, but you heard gossip among other supernatural (and boy did they like to gossip). And they were generally predictable, especially the big dumb types like this! "Superhero types, am I right?" she put herself between the twins and gave a full cheesy smile, including her sharp incisors "Look I know you don't want to guard this, much rather go out causing havoc among those pesky mortals!" "Tell me what going on here and we'll let you play a special game of Roulette, the Russian type, with my friends here! If you win we'll take over and let you go out and about among the people! Can't say fairer than that?"
  12. Centuria's Initiative: 1d20+3=23
  13. Will Save: 1d20+8=21, so close!
  14. Mz Grue And I'm an empath and can tell a half-truth from a lie! her friendly demeanour didn't waver even telepathically And long as it's all in the spirit of the thing, no harm and no fowl! And don't worry I've not read your mind! Without missing a beat she was back to her cheerful self "Please brave Goblin regale us with your tales of victory against this wicked King!"
  15. Doctor Rosa Thorne You didn't last long in the world of the occult without realising there were forms and patterns in how things were done. Before you gained access to what you sought you needed to pass a guardian, the trick was it was never totally clear until you reached the threshold. This went for many things, especially in liminal spaces that held certain powers to follow a narrative. The key narrative here would be to dance with the man, impress him with your moves and/or witty banter and then gain access to the prize. Unfortunately for narrative causality, Rosa couldn't dance, indeed she had no sense of rhythm in the slightest. So like a sensible person, she skirted around the edge of the club, whilst everyone was focused on the main event, looking for access to the backroom of the club.
  16. Centuria Kate patted a goat on there head and fed the gathered goats the remains of the cake. "Sorry little goats we've got to see the horses, I'm sure someone will come along soon to give you food and fuss!" She turned to follow with the others, the consensus matching her own mood right now. Slinking off to wander on her own was always an option later. "Let's go see the horses then!"
  17. I think I'm next? Apologies if I'm jumping the gun but another punch to the werewolf! Attack Roll: 1d20+8=20, DC 21 if a hit.
  18. Madame Raven It was disturbing how quickly you got used to the weird and uncanny so quickly, and besides the feeling wasn't any worse than a really good workout session! Use to such thing she was quickly back in action, though right now that meant giving Devon the space to do his thing. Though she was also a detective by training. "Now we have her safe and sound, do we have any idea of who she is and what exactly happened?" Simliest questions were always the best starters, and she didn't expect anything solid until the woman showed signs of recovery
  19. One final chance on the Grapple, will shift to Density which make things a little easier to hit! Attack Roll: 1d20+5=15, sure that hits so for the grapple Grapple: 1d20+13=18. Oh well at least right now she's immovable!
  20. Thinking of this as a Snare, as I can't know where the vehicle is I guess it would be area-based Snare 6.
  21. Emerald Spider With traffic incidents being such a common thing, especially in the last few days, it was so ingrained in what to do Peri didn't even have to think too hard about what to do! Especially as she many a time looked at her first act of heroics and tried to figure out if she could have done anything different. With a few esoteric hand signals, she caused the inherent sponginess of the quantum realm to manifest on the macro scale, which looked to the observer like she released a large foamy area of web-like material across the road. It should trap or at least slow down the vehicle, if not if she was lucky trap the vehicle in the quantum gunk. But she wasn't going to leave things to change, she swung down to grab the pedestrians off the road and onto the sidewalk well away from the dangerous drone.
  22. Starshine A chirp from the bracelet showed some recognition of this Traveler, something that Rosalind would have to inquire about later! Along with the fact that she was more than ready to sacrifice herself for the sake of others, something for the Claremont counsellors that one. "I guess that means we're leaving now, everyone that's on the list through the portal now!" Floating there she was thinking of guarding the rear, though not to the point of making it that she was most definitely the last Claremonter standing. Such bravado was a mugs game and it was more important that they all went home.
  23. Freedom League Building, Freedom City On-screen appears a mature, well-dressed woman, who, for some, looks almost like the spitting image of the actress who played Lady Liberty in the 1970s. Behind her is the archive of books and other materials stored deep in the heart of the League's headquarters. “Hello there! Part of our remit here is to preserve the memories of deeds of all superheroes, not just those of the League. To that end we’d like to collect records of your actions, but not those of regular superheroes (we have enough of those in everyday life). In what we’re calling the One Year Later initiative, we want you to provide a record of holidays, both public and private. The format you use is up to you, but we can provide a near-undetectable camera drone that will capture footage that perfectly hides your and your loved one’s identity. This initiative runs from January 2024 to 2025, and you’ll have final approval of what can be released to the public and what is kept for future generations…” With this time of year being one full of various celebrations rather than pick one we’re allowing you to choose all of them! You can choose a single holiday, a small sample or as many holidays as you wish. These can be public holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas etc, or private ones, Birthdays, Marriages etc, or a mix of both. The format can be in the form of diary entries, videos or written blogs, or in the site's regular story format. Bad things can happen, but remember to keep things within the site's NC-13 rules. Your submission should be submitted to Freedom League Headquarters no later than January 7th 2025! (As a reminder, vignettes follow the same general rules as posts in terms of content, player character limits, and so on. You may have only one vignette per player character. Each vignette should be at least one page (~500 words) in length; if posted in your thread counts at the end of the month, it is worth 1pp for the associated character. An especially long vignette, 1000 words or more, may be worth up to 2pp. Multiple players can collaborate on a single vignette - we recommend Google Docs for this, it's very useful - but the vignette should be about one page per participating player.)
