Madame Raven After so long overseas it was weird for Callie that here she was considered underage when it came to drinking, but like a lot of things she had to get used to such things now she was back in the States. "I hope everyone's decent back here..." she popped her head around the changing room door, looking through her fingers "I probably shouldn't be back here, so I bought these..." she stepped around the door and offered up a dozen black roses. She'd managed to get hold of the band's t-shirt which she was wearing along with long shorts over a pair of tights and wearing some Ichio boots. "Hi Charlie, sorry I've not been returning calls, got a little distracted for a couple of years..." she looked at the others before adding "...and I'm being rude, I'm Callie Sen please to meet you all!"

Madame Raven Callie spent a few moments watching how things unfolded below, trying to work out if there were any patrol patterns to give her a slot to sneak in unnoticed. The trapdoor was obviously something important, or made to look important it could be some kind of trap after for the curious like herse She shifted her attention to the skylight, quickly checking for any alarm before slipping through the open skyline into the warehouse. Onto the superstructure she rapidly made her way to the wall, dropping down into a darker part of the warehouse. Then back to the area where the trapdoor was positioned, pausing she looked from the shadows to see where the guards were before making any kind of move towards the trapdoor. She'd prefer to do this without a fight if possible, but if ti had to happen she wanted to be the one in control of the situation.

Starshine "I'm not sure people realise how massive this is all is! As sad as this is without what Centurion does the world we live in just won't exist, some of us might now even be heroes. Yes most changes in the timestream just cause a ripple, but this is something that could flood everything!" she took a deep breath and sighed "But we're heroes so we can't just hide away and wait for this to blow over, besides meeting my younger relatives would be really weird! Let's just promise not to go out and try and fight Omega okay?" she gave a weak smile "Lets go do this then!"

The Traveller Sitara was quiet for a few moments as her fingers played across the keyboard, and then she looked up to the others. "I've synced our comms systems so we should be able to communicate without problem, I've also jammed them comms hopefully it will give us some time before they figure out what's going on!" As she spoke her armour began to deploy intricately carved bone white armour cogs moving and shifting as the armour covered her skin. "Moon-Moth, take over those that can't operate in space, those of us that can we'll attack directly and provide a distraction. Try and disable the power and weapons if you can." a blank faceplate finally deployed, and she took the two power weapons spinning them around dramatically "Unless anyone has other ideas obviously?"

Your character, or one from a nearby dimension, finds themselves having to deal with everyday experiences in a small town. Birth, illness, or a Town Festival are among the many, many experiences that they may have to deal with, but no supers and no crime! Your small-town tales should be posted no later than the 30th April 2024. (As a reminder, vignettes follow the same general rules as posts in terms of content, player character limits, and so on. You may have only one vignette per player character. Each vignette should be at least one page (~500 words) in length; if posted in your thread counts at the end of the month, it is worth 1pp for the associated character. An especially long vignette, 1000 words or more, may be worth up to 2pp. Multiple players can collaborate on a single vignette - we recommend Google Docs for this, it's very useful - but the vignette should be about one page per participating player.)

Madame Raven Callie looked around and made a few quick calculations. This wasn't even the hardest urban environment she'd ever had to travel through, those gagoyles were nice and all but a lot of European cities were pretty low lying. Another quick check and she made her move, relying on her plan rather than worrying about anything going wrong. Quickly she clambered up the shortest of the nearby, using her builtup speed to launch into the air. Then she'd used her grapple to catch the tallest of the building catapulting herself into the air using the grapple to build up even more speed. A twist and a spin in the air she used her cape to glide down over the fence. She only just made the fence, and was thankful that her boots had insulated soles, as she rolled and tumbled to the ground mostly unharmed. And roll and she was up in a crounch scanning for anyone that might have seen her, adequent, acrobatic manoeuvres. When she got back to Freedom CIty she was going to get one of those fancy Raven planes, so this wouldn't be a prouble anymore. It was that or learn how to fly! Sure that she was undetected she made her way stealthly to the warehouse before making, a much more leisurely, climb up to the roof of the building.

The Traveller Sitara wasn't one to just sit back and just let things happen, though obviously, diplomacy had overridden such a thing. Now things had settled down she wanted to make sure, and the locals had helpfully shown her all the necessary communication protocol to piggyback her signal upon. She fired up the suits comms system, adding a holographic as an extra flex and contacted their leader. "Is everything okay down there Amara? Do you want us to come one down yet?" As tempted as she was to visit her old homeworld, protocol was more important in the situation. At least for now.

Madame Raven Callie had only recently arrived in Hong Kong, the city of her birth, which was so different to the one she’d remembered in the 80s but also so much the same. She was used to the glitz and glamour of the city, not the dark underside, but she’d spent the last couple of years learning to find glittering gems in the dirty streets. It didn’t take long to get a few rumours about Superior Silk Industries, the kind that suggested they were up to no good. The kind of no good that deserved investigation, stashing her few possession in a safe place she made her way to the warehouse. She wore a hoodie, black of course, and a pair of combat the many pockets stuffed with the general tools of the trade. Underneath it all was her Raven costume, just in case things got messy. One of the things she learned was that you never used the doors, or windows when there were much subtler ways to get into a building. So she made her way to the warehouse's roof, keeping to the shadows as she looked for a skylight, or at worse a doorway into the building.

Starshine When Rosalind first revealed she had powers to her family her Gran, never one to hid her feelings, told her how it had felt to be that day helpless watching things unfold. She’d promised her, who she realised was just a few miles away not knowing what this day was about to become. She swore softly in Greek and turned so the contemporary heroes could read her lips, just in case. ”You know what going to happen today right? It’s when…” she mouthed the work Centurion ”… fights…” again for Omega ”… we really, really can’t be here today of all days!” Time and dimensional travel in one year, she really wished she hadn’t bemoaned how quiet last year was!

Starshine <”Are you okay ma’am?”> she tried Greek first considering the shop and area <”If you can stop doing that then we might be able to help”> (switching to English if she didn’t respond). Realising that this probably didn’t help that Consuelo didn’t understand Greek at all she added for her benefit. ”I might be wrong here, but I don’t think she’s responsible for all this, at least on purpose. Let’s see if we can talk her down before trouble starts.. well I guess before it gets worse!”
-
Starshine ”Thought I recognized them, sure I’ve seen them on a book cover somewhere!” she half mumbled to herself before adding a little more loudly “We’re all more or less from out of town, I’m from Shamong just down the road.” Hoping that this was enough not to raise any more suspicion she turned to the others and whispered to them. ”I think we need to have a team meeting, away from prying ears, and work out what we’re going to do next.”

The Traveller “How to put this nicely…” Sitara thought for a moment generally trying to stay friendly “...when I woke up after a thousand years in stasis, the first time around, though I don’t make a habit of it, no one even knew Earth existed. I thought it had been destroyed in a Galactic war between two incredibly powerful alien powers.” “Only after the second time out of stasis was Earth known about by the Lor, and that’s only because of all the metahumans that seem to come from our planet. No one among the Lor knows about a random fertility festival to sell aphrodisiac foods, let alone some from the Khanate thousands of parsecs away.” she quickly looked around to see if this would go down badly before adding. “Personally I actually think he’s being genuine here, it’s just this is the only way his macho brain knows to impress others.”

The Traveller Sitara was only a few steps behind her fellow Praetorian, trade talks never made for an interesting experience. “Consort is always a good option, if you’re not big on all those titles!” as serious as it was she couldn’t help but enjoy the moment “If you need someone to talk to about this I’ve been married…” she counted out on her fingers “...five times, one of each, was technically a monarch for a hot minute but a lot was going on that day…” she went a little wistful at some very ancient memory ”But I also get that even if it’s for political reasons, you can’t help but remember all the other people you loved, however, many years have gone by...”

The Traveller “If things quiet down someone will have to explain why this day is important to you Terran’s, cultural stuff doesn’t tend to translate as well.” she winced inwardly at the line you Terran’s, guess she had been away a few thousand years to long. Best to focus on the technical side of things, at least she knew about that kind of stuff among thousands of different species. “Paradigm know her stuff, if she can she’ll give a signal we can use. I’ll go give your nice technician our access code, we might even be able to get your tech to give us some holographic images! If not we can probably improvise something...”

pl 10 Madame Raven (PL 10/14) - Tiffany Korta
Tiffany Korta replied to Tiffany Korta's topic in Heroes
Luckily for me, it's all formatting rather that I mucked something up! The initiative was an 11th-hour addition, hence why I missed the bonus off the sheet, likewise I was planning to wait until next month but decided to bring it forward by a couple of weeks. Double-checked the numbers and everything does add up to 211PP, I just missed this off the bottom. Likewise, the Utility Belt was a bit of work in progress, it's really a 10PP Array, and again the numbers all work out properly. Fixed all the issues you raised and it should be perfect now.- 4 replies

Madame Raven Power Level: 10/14 (211/220PP) Unspent Power Points: 9pp Trade-Offs: +4 Attack / -4 Damage In Brief: What do you do next when you're a woman out of time? Theme: You're Dead by Norma Tanega Alternate Identity: Calliope "Callie" Sen (Public) Calliope "Callie" Summers (Secret) Birthplace: Hong Kong Residence: Summers Building, New York Base of Operations: Worldwide Occupation: Businesswoman Affiliations: Raven Family Family: Doctor Sin (Grandfather), Duncan Summers (Father), Jasmine Sin (Mother), Callie Summers (Possible future self) Description: Age: 20 (DoB: 24th August 1973 [Time Displaced]) Gender: Female Ethnicity: Asian / European mix Height: 1.702m (5'7") Weight: 50kg (110 lbs) Eyes: Green Hair: Black Callie has inherited her beauty from her mother, though often marred by the scowl of her father. Even with a few more years under her belt, she looks more like her duplicate, though there are still enough differences that they get away as relatives. She keeps her hair relatively short, both to differentiate herself from her duplicate and so that it can't become disadvantageous in a fight. When in public as a wealthy businesswoman, woman she dresses in the most stylish clothes that always perfectly suit the occasion, still ethically sourced and environmentally sustainable, in private though she prefers loose fitting comfortable t-shirts and sweats. Though still in its early stages, her Raven costume is far from the homemade costume she wore at Claremont. Made of tough yet light high-tech polymers the black suits offer maximum protection, the cloak is particularly impressive appearing like a simple cloth cloak it can harden at will allowing Callie to use it as a weapon in a fight. It's also covered in scalloped cloth feathers that can be plucked and thrown becoming the family's signature Raven-like boomerangs. They even regenerate meaning they will rarely run out, and the cloak always looks good, though with extended use the cloak will appear shorter than it was originally. To make herself stand out from the other Ravens, and despite the potential risk she doesn't wear a cowl, just covering her mouth and wearing a domino mask to avoid giving away her identity. History: Plucked from time, at the age of sixteen, by unknown methods, just before the fateful day she was meant to find out about her superhero legacy, Callie never had time to worry about her future. She had been busy with school and learning, and enjoying, what it was like to be a superhero. And despite the unusual circumstances, the extended Raven Family accepted her as one of her own, especially warmly considering their reputation as being cool brooding loners. But she wanted to find out exactly who she was, as opposed to her "future" duplicate, so after graduating Callie took a couple of years to go and find herself, putting aside the Madame Raven identity. Leaving Claremont Callie decided to spend the next couple of years wandering the world. Backpacking and relying on her wits and skills, she got to spend a few months in various communities helping before moving on to a new country, city and new issues. She also found various experts in various fields to learn what she could, in return for helping them out whenever she could. After that fact, she arranged for those who needed it to gain a healthy donation from the Summers Foundation. As well as finding herself she wanted to find both who, and more importantly why, she was bought into the "future" as well as find her grandfather, the infamous supervillain Dr Sin. She finally found him, or at least appeared to be, in Singapore. Though brief, and uncomfortable, he imparted to her what he figured out about her. She wasn't from the past, or a parallel Earth, but a reflection of a potential past. Whilst she doesn't quite understand how such a thing could happen, or who would do a thing, but it was at least a possible lead to follow and there was really only one place to get the help dealing with such esoteric sciences. So she's returned to Freedom City, finally adopting the identity of Callie Sen as the CEO of Summers Advanced Dynamics. Now settled in she's reached out to various superheroic scientific organizations, including the Atom Academy, to help finally answer how she came to be, if necessarily helping out in kind... Personality & Motivation: Whilst tempered by her years since leaving Claremont she still enjoys being a hero and how she uses her knowledge and money to help those less fortunate than herself. It's just now she cloaks it more in a layer of cynicism, though a wicked sense of humour pokes through now and again. Whilst the Ravens have a reputation for being loners Callie is quite the opposite enjoying the company of others, it helps that she has a naturally relaxed charm that allows her to get along with most people. And whilst she doesn't know why she's here, she knows exactly who she is and what she wants. She's comfortable in her skin and her place in the mundane and superhero world. Powers & Tactics: With no powers, Callie has to rely on her physical training, the environment around them and the gadgets and weapons available to her. If possible she likes to bring gadgets suitable for the foe(s) she's facing, though her training allows her to improvise against foes she knows little to nothing about. Ideally, Callie prefers to use either stealth and/or psychology to take down a foe without having to fight them. Often villains tend to be a cowardly and suspicious lot. Power Descriptions: Callie through years of training, at both Claremont and some of the best experts in the world, is at the almost peak of human ability, both physically and mentally. Her experience, however brief, allows her to go toe to toe with superpowered individuals much beyond her abilities. Though she knows when it's time to get help from some of the city's heavy hitters. Complications: A Congress of Ravens: Callie has been accepted as a member of the Raven family, which comes with certain responsibilities to the extended family when needed. A Conspiracy of Raven: Though she knows she's not from the past of a parallel universe there's still a mystery of what exactly she is, and that someone made this happen. A Murder of Ravens: Over the years the Raven family have gained a number of enemies over the years. Starshine “Nice to meet you Miri, and both of you as well” She nodded to the twins, there were so many names to remember she was always worried she’d missed someone's name at a socially crucial moment. “A Star-knight huh, that might explain why this has been weird for the last few minutes…” She held up her arm to show the Bracelet, which was glowing and chirping loudly to itself “I’ve been told it’s some kind of alien device, really it’s the one with all the powers and I’m just a ride along!” she shrugged before adding “But none of that is important right now... because first-day tour!” she clapped and tried to sound all peppy and encouraging, hopefully, it would fool the new kids “How are you finding things so far?”
