  1. GM Post Flying around the object Solar Sentinel could feel the gravity of the asteroid, that familiar gravitational tug of home. To explore the object didn't take long, it was only about a kilometer long and half as wide, and the surface was fairly unremarkable, apparently untouched in all the millennia it has floated out in the belt, apart from two large roughly oval craters that sat next to each other and seemed to mirror each other. It seemed like it was the best way to get inside the object.
  2. Whilst Sitara wasn't the best pilot in the Praetorian she wasn' doing a bad job as she matched the crafts rotation to match 60339-Bixby. As she monitored the display she looked at the corner she'd placed a live feed of Earth, no more than a blue dot where they were right now. She would have prefered to be out dealing with the still-evolving refuge crisis the other end of Lor space, but it was always nice to come to her home that for a long time she destroyed. "If this is as straightforward as it seems I'm sure we'll have time to have a quick visit. The sensor data is coming in now..." Around the image of the potato-shaped object was the data gathered by the ship and whilst Sitara prefered her native Sanskrit the translation matrix was working perfectly. "Something strange about the asteroid density, it shouldn't be so high and I'm measuring a Lor-Van standard gravity. The signal attenuation suggests the signal is coming from the centre of the body." she gave a slight sigh "We're obviously going to have to take a look inside, can you find us an entry whilst we EVA down? I not sure if it'd be safe to land the craft."
  3. Right to start Ditra-55, Solar Sentinel and The Traveller will discover the ship to go between dimensions in Signal in the Darkness. Once the ship is in the team hands we'll open thing out a bit to other character, plus people are welcome to run with the idea.
  4. Asteroid 60339-Bixby, The Asteroid Belt, Sol System Asteroid 60339-Bixby was an unremarkable object in Earths solar system on recently found after 5 million years in the darkness it would have remained unremarkable until humanity made it's into space. But a passing ESA probe had picked up a faint signal of alien origins coming from the asteroid, they'd passed it onto the Freedom League who'd passed it onto CoVic station. Seeing as it was probably a fairly innocuous signal, many systems had scattered remains of various von Neumann machines of pass explorations, the Praetorian had arranged for to check it out on their regular patrol. Just in case anything was found they'd arranged for a representative of the Sol System to meet them before they reached the asteroid itself. Everything seemed routine, though this was like nothing they could have possibly imagined...
  5. I have an idea of how they get the ship, enough that I can start when you ready, all I need to start is Dita and maybe a Earth representive, for which Solar Sentinal (and Red Moon maybe) would do fine. Once the setup is done we can work out how others get involved as we go along. And obviously once everything is setup other are more than welcome to come play in our multi-dimensional sandbox
  6. There was a moment when she was twelve that she'd accept that she might die and made her peace with that, knowing that her life as her life ebbed about it would save another. For some reason, whether it was God, the legendary Ice Maidens ancestry or just her genetic she'd survived that night. So was a little worried whether Phae would see thing the same way so she reached out with her wrinkled hand, she had to remind herself that her normal hand was underneath, and grasp Phae's own hand tightly. "It's the way of all things to end, like ice melting in the warming sun. And when they do we should take time to enjoy the memories of what has been, and like the melt water new thing will grow. Besides..." she managed a little smile, "They say say Clouston women are to ornery to die, they just shuffle away to bother other people!"
  7. What I'm thinking is that like the show we'll have a permanent team, who have pitched into our trans-ships, and guest star that might show up for an adventure or two. I'm more than willing to put my money where my mouth is :D.
  8. Okay, this gives me ideas, such ideas bwahaha! I think I have a solid enough an idea to start putting something together if you wanna start that quickly H. We can then add people in once they get the ship and start travelling!
  9. Klara had gotten us to the way some people reacted to her height, after all, she had experienced it for five decades. Even though every time it made her smile "We should find a way we can talk face to face, things will be much more civil that way." she knew that kneeling down like she was dealing with a child might be considered a little insulting "Whilst we figure that out let me buy you a drink to celebrate the upcoming season." she looked and gave a little smile "Though I think for you a soft-drink is in order." She downed the black liquid in her glass and turned to the bar, adding as she turned. "And please call me Klara, tonight is not the time for formalities."
  10. Voin Zhenshchina, Morley's Pub, West End For Klara, the Holidays were all about family, she would spend the actual day(s), having two different Christmases to choose from, with her wife and daughters celebrating all that she had around her. After all the years of this, it has yet to get old. But it was also a time to gather with friends and celebrate the season so she had gone to Morley's, the closest to the kind of pub they had back home, to have a few pints and hopefully meet up with a few other heroes to celebrate!
  11. As well as being a responsible city Freedom City was also a place that knew how to let it's hair down, and like everything, Superheroes liked to party. Thought of often very different beliefs, many of them gathered to celebrate the Holiday season in the superhero equivalent of an Office Party. At various point through Freedom City heroes, in and out of costume gathered to celebrate the Holiday season together Morley's Pub, West End
  12. Scarab III, Temporary Soup Kitchen, Liberty Park Kamala had always felt it was important to help those less fortunate than herself, beyond the fact that it was expected by her religion. Every year the volunteers from the various Churchs, Synagogue, Mosques and Temple, along with other just interested in helping, created a temporary soup kitchen in Liberty Park to hand out food and blankets to those who found themselves to be homeless this time of year. Kamala had always given her time to volunteer to help, but this year she figured that she could help draw more attention to the cause. Since a few fleeting appearances throughout the last few months and that encounter in Miami, the media had been speculating on this new Scarab. So feeling a little self-conscious she was her in costume, helping at her insistence, with the promise that after the media covered the event she'd answer a few questions about herself. But the homeless in her mind always came first.
  13. Whilst like any city Freedom City has its problems it also took great care to help those who were struggling for a variety of reasons. Many generous people gave up their time to try and help those in need, an especially at a time like this when not only was it the holiday season but the temperatures tended to drop. As with most things in the city, Superheroes were very much involved giving their time and energy to help make a difference in whatever ways they could. Temporary Soup Kitchen, Liberty Park Robin's Nest Senior Care, Lincoln, Freedom City
  14. For those that like something, more party related we also have a more joyful thread, which like above you can locate you, hero, as you wish. As the two have no definite dates you can have your heroes be in both threads. The thread is here, have fun!
  15. With the Holidays coming around people thoughts turn to those less lucky than themselves, and superheroes are no exceptions. Not everything can be sorted by punching sometimes you need to just try and help you fellows. This year our Christmas, and other similar holidays, thread is a little different. Rather than be set at one place you may choose to have you hero helping the less fortunate than themselves wherever you wish, just remember to do so in such a way that others can interact with your hero. Being that we might be jumping around be sure to be clear who and where your character is located, if one location gets a lot of posts we'll split it into its own thread. And as is traditional for the Holiday themed thread you may use as many of your heroes as you wish, just please don't cluster them all in one place. The thread is here and have, responsible, fun!
  16. GM Post It was quickly apparent that the armoured figured were robots and they apparently were linked in somehow as they seemed to act as a coherent whole. They also seemed to be more interested in someone inside the building as they kept trying to get past Asad to attack the room again, not that he couldn't easily deal with them without effort. If someone was trying to attack a superhero these were a really terrible way to do that. Inside the room, Dancia took the opportunity to get Sarah out of the room gently picking up the young woman and nudging her towards the elevator. "Go quickly you're safer further inside the building, Asad has the situation in hand and I follow along when I can." Her plan was to go help when she was sure that Sarah couldn't see and connect her with her other identity.
  17. Peri took a few moments to eat some noodles as she processed what Salmon had dropped on her, compared to that revelation a man appearing out of a portal seemed pretty mundane. Apparently, this now was her life. "Help yourself to food, there provided plenty. There are some spare chopsticks and if you really need it a few forks as well. As my Granny always likes to say, eat first problems laters." Still, the problem wouldn't go away and once Peri was happy that everyone had helped themselves she bought thing back to Salmons statement. "Look if that what you want to do I wish you every luck, but I can't help but ask why? After all, we all know what he's really like..."
  18. That's fine, Dancia just needs to take a few hit so Asad figures she's more than just a reporter. Figured it'd make 'em teaming up much simplier.
  19. Right now Emerald Spider was sat on the edge of the building through her attention was elsewhere rather than the view, today had been a good day. She'd happened to be near a Chinese restaurant when two thugs had tried to rob the place, all in a days works for Emerald Spider. After the police had carted them away the owner had insisted that she accepted a rather large sampling of there wares, much more than a single person could manage. So right now she was enjoying a large box of noodles, good but obviously not as good as Granny makes, later she'd worry about what to do with the rest of the food.
  20. Downtown Emerald City It wasn't the tallest building in Emerald City, that like his ego was probably Mars's, it was even easily accessible from the ground with a little climbing. But it probably had one of the best views of the city at night a stream of colourful lights down towards the Columbia River. It wasn't obvious how good the view was unless you happened to be someone who spent there time up in the air, so was a secret to many who spent most of there time down on the ground. And right now one of those people was enjoying the view.
  21. Lucy sipped at her Bathtub Gin and little more slowly, savoring the faint taste her dead taste-buds could still detect. From what she could make out it would be an amazingly strong Gin, the type she enjoyed back in the day. "There are quite a few monsters in my vampire heritage and I've helped a few of them move on myself. Plus a few others in the West End that won't be troubling humanity ever again." she smiled before adding with her normal sincerity "I know I don't have to say it but when the time comes I will be happy to have you back and help put down the real monster."
  22. The armoured figures are both robots and minion so rather than roll feel free to handle the combat narratively. Oh and obviously a HP for the sudden shenanigans!
  23. GM Post At first, all Amir could see was the strange scene of the reporter throwing herself over the table, but it wasn't long until he could see what might be the cause. Outside each of the windows was a humanoid figure looking like it was clad in Ancient Greek armour, possibly powered armour or robot it was hard to tell either way. The guns they were armed with modern and with a whine they began to fire and whilst the glass was toughened it wasn't enough to stop the bullets. It slowed them enough that Amir was fine, but the woman shouldn't be except that the reporter seemed to taking the bullets without any harm. Though that was a question for another time there were the armoured figures to deal with.
  24. As fun as watching Amir taken apart Sarah Grant's proposal, and to be honest Grant Conglomerates probably deserved a lot of the grief, Dancia couldn't help but be distracted. In her ear was the high pitched tone from some kind of control signal and being so strong it had to be really close by. Trying not to act like she was distracted whilst trying to act impartially was taking a lot of her mental activities. Doing so she almost missed the important moment and didn't have time to shout out a warning, instead, she threw herself across the table grabbing Sarah and turning as they fell so her back was to the window. Amir would have to look after himself, as she was pretty sure he was more than capable of doing...
  25. Before Cathy had worked up the courage to come out to her community she'd worried that they'd treat her as a pariah or worse. But whilst the island might be isolated it was still in the 21st Century and most, there were always a few old-fashioned folks, accepted her as she was. "You think you can conjure up anything worse than I could imagine? Especially when I look like this?" she pointed to her pale white skin "I've heard worse from the girls at school, and it's probably had more effect that your little holodeck charade here!" Whilst she sounded as calm as she could manage she was still pissed at the demon at his little display and as often happened when she was the air around her cooled down substantially frost forming in the area. Normally she'd try and reign it in but she knew by many, happy, hours of experiencing that Phae could handle the cold.
