Okay after delivering her message and going big Miss Grue will go full Defensive in case she gets attacked.
-
There was obviously a lot more going on here than they had initially suspected, possibly even something magical, which was well outside her expertise. It looks like someone or something is directing all this she explained and projected into there minds these hollow men that she'd seen There's also someone on there way very quickly, I'm going to try and slow them down if I can but be ready for if I can't stop them. Using her senses to keep track of the speeding target she positioned herself to be the biggest target she could, growing to fifteen foot high and very solid. Hopefully, it would be enough to get there attention.

KTBN News Archive A random Street in Emerald City Cindy Dal: We've just witnessed Emerald Cities newest hero, dubbed Emerald Spider take down armed assailants live on KTBN. Let's see if we can get a few words with her. Hello, I'm Cindy Dal from KTBN can we have a few words for our viewers? Emerald Spider: Sure always happy to talk to my fans, ask away Cindy CD: Thank you, Emerald Spider, the obvious first question, where are you from? ES: I'm an Emerald City girl born a breed, Southside obviously! CD: (Laughs) What can you tell us about the person behind the mask? ES: Well I can't tell you much, secret identity and all, but I have amazing ankles (laughs and points to legs). CD: Yes I see, so I see you do those hand gestures when in action. Do they have any kind of significance? ES: Oh there to control my special abilities, this one, for example, I can use to entangle foes (web-like substance shot off just beside the camera). Ah sorry about that it only lasts about a minute, I'm sure you sound guy will be perfectly fine. CD: He's perfectly fine! So moving on why do fight crime and task such risks every day? ES: I was bought up to believe that if you could you helped people who couldn't help themselves. CD: But your opponents don't think that way, is it worth putting yourself in physical harm against such foes? ES: If I didn't think so I wouldn't put on the costume, not what I'd call comfortable day wear! CD: You seem to be pretty comfortable to me. ES: Was that a question? Doesn't matter I'll answer it anyhow. Being a hero is easy, it the day to day mundane stuff that difficult. CD: It can't be easy striking a balance between the two? ES: Luckily I have a very understanding boss, probably help that he doesn't know that I do this (laughs). CD: Do you think they'd approve if they found out? ES: Well with respect, I don't care what they think, I've more worries about how my family would feel. And I know they approve of what I do. Hello Grandma Spider! (waves at the camera) CD: No Spider girl or boyfriend to call you own? ES: (laughs) No not yet, but you never know! CD: But you must be worried that if someone found out they could be at risk? ES: Even I wouldn't want to risk the wrath of an angry Grandma (laughs), but yes that's why I cover my face when I do this. CD: Do you not fear that it might happen someday though? ES: I like to focus on more important fears, like spiders, don't tell anyone it'll ruin my reputation! CD: Do you think it's worth the risks for such gain? Emerald City does have on of the lowest crime rates on the West Coast. ES: I have a lot of respect for the ECPD and the hard work they do to keep this city safe. But sometimes they need a little help and that's where I come in. It's no place like Freedom City where a fight breaks out every couple of hours. CD: So you feel you're helping this city? ES: I'm doing my part to keep the city I love even safer, and isn't that what everyone wants? CD: So what do you say to the claims that you presence bring Super Villians to our city? ES: We've been lucky that so few villains have troubled our fair city through the years, but they would and have shown up whether I started helping out. Besides not every villain is so open in their activities. CD: Care to tell us who? ES: You know better than allow me to incriminate myself, but don't worry I doing my part there as well. CD: Talking of Freedom City have you been inspired by any of the heroes there? ES: When I was younger I was crazy into Lady Liberty, loved the show as well. I guess she's left an impact on me through the years. 15. CD: Would you want to follow in her footsteps? Join up with the Freedom League and help on the wider stage? ES: Not saying I wouldn't be excited to get a call from them, but I don't think I'm quite ready for the big time yet. 16.CD: Not even ready to team up with the new heroes in Emerald City? ES: Hey if that robot guy from across the river want to team up me can give me a call (make a call me gesture) CD: Whats your opinion of Citizen they? Some have been upset at Freedom City important their heroes over to cause havoc in our city. ES: More the merrier I say, and he seems to be okay. 19. CD: He has made controversial statements in the past, do you agree with his ideas? ES: I don't agree with his ideas, but he's free to believe what he wishes. And no I won't talk about my personal beliefs. (Sound of sirens in the distance.) ES: That's my cue, I got to go now. (Raises a hand and with a complicated gesture shoots a twisted rope-like structure into the air) CD: Thank you for you time Emerald Spider, anything you'd like to say before you go? ES: Thank you Emerald City, I love you all and hope to around for some time. Be good everyone! (Emerald Spider flies up into the air) DS: Well there you have it the first interview with Emerald Spider. Now back to you in the studio...

Emerald Spider Gather Information 5 Emerald Spider is one of Emerald City first and best-known of the modern heroes. 10 There’s lots of footage of ES performing heroic actions, normally with some sort of quip. 15 Lots of speculation among fans but more think her powers are technological in nature. Peri Pyeng Gather Information 10 Brilliant up and coming Engineer a few years ago, blackballed overnight over some incident. 15 Was working on a project at D-Concepts Technology, before the company building burnt down in mysterious circumstances. 20 Though never charged Peri is strongly implied to have started the fire, hence her blackballing in the industry.

Emerald Spider in With Great Power... An Emerald City High School 2007 Just because they were girl didn't mean the jocks were any worse as bullies, in fact in some ways they were even worse. And the worse of them all was Beatrice Brant, some even unkindly called her the Rhino for her blunt force, almost everyone was afraid to even stand up to her little cliche. Peri wasn't afraid. Fifteen years old and the words of her mother ringing in her ears, a quiet anger at her sudden loss, often stepped in when Beatrice was picking on the younger students. More an academic than an athlete it didn't always end well but despite the result, Peri always did the right thing. She didn't care about making friends all she was concerned was about finishing her studies. What else would she want to do? First Emerald City Bank, 2017 "Wow do people really still rob banks? It's the 21st Century after all!" Descending from the air on a bundle of superstring made manifest was Emerald Spider her upside face in front of the bank robbers who'd just burst out of the bank. Whatever was going on in her life this was the best part of her day. "Holy **** it's Emerald Spider." it's wasn't the most creative of responses but understandable, the guns were a lot less acceptable. A well-timed quip and web of quantum entanglement to entrap their guns were on the way when she saw her of all people, sitting scared behind the safety glass someone she'd not thought about for almost a decade, Beatrice Brant. The quip was lost in the surprise, but not the more important restraining web she'd learned a thing or two in the last year or so since she'd put on the costume. After that it didn't take much more to subdue them, having them all wrapped up in a neat package for the ECPD when they turned up. Peri had heard somewhere that it was dishonourable to drink with your enemy, but she'd never really held truck with that kind of thinking. So a couple of days later, better not to try and draw any kind of link to Emerald Spider just in case, she just happened to show up at Beatrice window to inquire about her account. It was a surprise how much Beatrice was pleased to see Peri and how quickly they'd arranged to have a coffee and catch up on old times. The conversation at the local Starbase was about the various woes that had befallen them since High School, and unlike Peri who had come to terms with her choices, Beatrice was bitter about her fall from grace. Apparently whilst she was a great athlete in High School she was only an average one at College. Never caring to study and counting on her athletic prowess to get her through life Beatrice had struggled after school until she'd gotten her job at the bank. It reminded Peri how'd lucky she'd been after High School that lead to her working on the Spdr Rig, whilst she might be financially disadvantaged becoming the Emerald Spider was the best thing that had ever happened to her. So lost in her own thoughts Peri almost missed the question she'd expected since they'd arranged to meet up. "Everyone else wouldn't dare stand up to us, but you would every since time. Why did you always get involved even if it wasn't you fight?" Peri took a deep breath but she didn't need to think about it at all, it was something that she knew by heart. "Every time before my Mom shipped out she would tell me the exact same word, that it was the duty for those that can to protect the weak. And ever since I lost her I have tried to live my life by that principle." she wiped away a tear whilst noticing that Beatrice's eyes had welled up as well, maybe the old bully wasn't a heartless than she thought back then. "It's not too late you know to do something with your life to help make a difference for this city." An Abandoned Warehouse, 2027 Detective Beatrice Brant had been hunting the guy for months now and had finally gotten a solid lead on his location, she should have waited for backup but there was a chance that he'd get away again to kill more people. So it was that she was traipsing through this warehouse looking for a killer, hearing a sound she turned to see a bundled up figure hanging from the rafters. "I hope you don't mind by I got here early and wrapped him all up for you." A shadow up in the roof of the building, one of this cities greatest hero Emerald Spider. In some ways, more than she suspected really, she was a detective because of Emerald Spider. "It was dangerous to come here alone Detective, why did you take a risk?" The detective smiled at an old memory before replying. "Something an old friend told me..." -

It didn't take much for Klara to work out that the leak was connected to whatever was going down to at the Dojo. But if those involved were ruthless enough to actually cause a leak then she needed to at least check the place out. Plus she didn't want to put at risk any of the brave firefighters, or any of the emergency services, at any risk from whatever was going down here. "Maybe you could show me where the valves are so I can help speed things along a little?" she suggested with a smile "Being outside the system I don't have to follow all the rules." Technically she was working at the embassy and had some Diplomatic immunity, though she really didn't want to test how far it went.

Cathy had become pretty used to the strange and unusual, really it was almost normal to her now. But the sheer weirdness of a demon inviting them to tea was still something weird enough to give her pause. Still, if Phae though it was alright then she'd trust her girlfriend's instincts after all this was her world after all. She slid into a spare chair as far from the head as she could manage, something were still too weird to process right now. "Milk no sugar for me please, and please call me Cathy." she'd considered going for Frostbyte but it didn't seem appropriate considering the circumstances "If it's not too forward may I ask what’s going on exactly that brought you here? It's not like you were popping down the shops and we were just in the area after all." -
Just like that it was gone, from the bliss of the moment to the cold hard reality, shaking her head Cathy was tempted to try and recapture the moment. But a quick look around showed that her friends were in trouble, she would almost think by there own actions if she didn't still feel the faint tug of the music. She'd read somewhere that hot air cooled quicker than cold which was helpful as she concentrated on redirecting the hot sticky air to her will. As she did the moisture in the room began to form around the feet of those that were attacking her friends. She managed a quick peck on the cheek of her still dancing girlfriend before moving to see if she could help more physically.

In her occult library, it hadn't taken long for Rosa to find out what was happening, there were echoes of the death of Master Mage throughout the magical sphere. That meant the focus of everything must be where he made his home in this dimension. "It's always bloody Freedom City, I swear sometimes it seems that everything happens in that city." Technically it wasn't her problem, it wasn't Bedlam and she could be powerless all the way over in the East Coast. But rarely did something this big happen totally peacefully and they might have need of their non-magical skills. And besides, the scholar in her wanted to view first hand the transfer of the position of Master Mage little to none had been written on the subject and she'd like to view it all first hand. It took a little effort and the spending of a few mystical favours but she managed to conjure up, literally and metaphorically, a portal to take them to Freedom City. Without much pause, she stepped through.

GM Post "I apologise Mr al-Misri but despite my best efforts, I am still my father's daughter. But I do not see you as a fool, quite the opposite if I didn't think you capable then I wouldn't have asked you join in this venture. Actually, it's quite refreshing to have someone who's not afraid to speak there mind around me, hopefully, if we enter into successful endeavour I might be able to occasional ask for your council on some matters. But of the current business at hand..." From one of her drawers, she took out a large file and placed in front of Asad. "Despite what you've might have read I am a capable and diligent businesswoman. And unlike my father, I am not going to resort to underhanded practices. This meeting was always a courtesy to yourself Mr al-Misri. It may be seen as old-fashioned but I like to see my potential allies face to face."

GM Post "Do not mistake my politeness for weakness Mr al-Misri, many of my fathers Fat Cats made that mistake and now they don't work for me anymore." her father steel showed through as she spoke, though it was wrapped in silk "We have identified a number of companies we wish to invest in." just like that she was all business again "I would like for you to act as a go-between to broker and manage such deals, all above board but we will not make a big deal of Grants involvement. For this, we'll offer you a generous fee, plus you may choose to invest in the companies as well. I promise you I have an eye for such things!"

To lose concentration for any time could be dangerous in a city like Bedlam, and now was not a good time at all for Liam Conner. Seeing a woman standing beside you wasn't anything that shocking, except that it was the woman he'd been sharing a body with for almost a year. The thug with the pool cue didn't seem bothered by this momentary blip of a soul separation as he bought the cue down on Liam's head, luckily for Liam, his magical protection wasn't affected and the pool cue shattered into millions of pieces. The stream of expletives from Rosa, now thankfully back, suggested that he wouldn't get anything useful for a few minutes, which helpful was the time it took to subdue the thug. What just happened? Liam asked when Rosa had calmed down enough I don't know but it was very, very bad. We need to get back to the Agency I need to find out what going on. Liam knew better than argue so dropped the thug and went to leave the Pool Hall, he wasn't going to provide anything useful anyhow. You do know that we were actually going to get paid this time...

Dancia was very aware that this was a potentially awkward situation, but it wasn't what was on her mind right now. Normally she could quite easily tune out all the sounds of the city, but this one sound was cutting through her normal filters. So bothered by it she almost missed the questions completely. "Mmmm yes, the daughter trying to get out of her father's shadow is a lazy but easily believable story. Best to own the room completely, make it your own." irritated by the noise she was probably a little less diplomatic than normal, so she added, "Though I'm after finding out the real story, not some headline-grabbing non-story."

Cathy knew all about this side of Phae's life, they had had that conversation quite early on, but it had all been in the abstract. Potential Angels were easy to explain away, but right here the devil was in the detail! This was as far from the norm for a girl that lived far away in the isolated Shetlands, and who went to church every Sunday. "A relative of yours?" she tried, with limited success to sound brave Stepping close to Phae, a little protectively, she touched the other girl's hand to give her as much support as she could muster. -
Bee Power Level: 10/12 (150/180PP) Unspent Power Points: 0 Trade-Offs: +2 Defense / -2 Toughness In Brief: Tiny hero, big heart! Catchphrase: "We'll beat it with Science!" Theme: The Bee Song, by Arthur Askey Alternate Identity: Melissa Bowles (Secret) Birthplace: Bayview, Freedom City Residence: FCU Dorms Base of Operations: Freedon City University Occupation: Student Affiliations: Bee-Keeper III Family: Jeremy Bowles (Father), Elsa Bowles (Mother), Megan Bowles (Older Sister), Baxter Bowles (Uncle) Description: Age: 18 (DoB: 4th January 2000) Gender: Female Ethnicity: African-American Height: 5'4", 3" when Shrunk Weight: 130lbs Eyes: Brown Hair: Brown With a whirling of limbs and a flurry of almost constant activity, Melissa seems to take up more space than her diminutive height would suggest. She's always dressed in a colourful array of clothing that suggested that she dressed in a hurry, which to be fair if quite often has what happened. She tends to prefer bright colors and bold designs and with a predominance of yellow, it can be difficult to tell when she is or not in her costume. Her costume is of cause the yellow and black stripes traditionally associated with bee's, even if the yellow is a lot lighter than found in nature. Sunny like my disposition Melina likes to say about the choice. Her head is covered by a mask complete with fake antennas and compound eye to complete the bee theme. The entire costume was designed and built by her uncle, with Melina's continuous input. History: The Baxter family has always had a creative flare in whatever subject they choose to pursuit, as well as a massive streak of eccentricity to go along with there potential genius. The most famous for this was of cause Barry Bowles, the second villainous Bee-Keeper, but the rest of the family was just as full of potential. Her main fascination was the newly described Dyne particles a catalyst that caused matter to shrink whilst retaining its mass and form, though no one had solved the problem of the electromagnetic energies generated by the compression. Melissa's idea was to form it into polymers to both allow it to be placed around the item and to channel the electrical field. Someone must have agreed as one fateful night when she finally got the Dyne polymer into a stable form. Working late in the school's lab the shockwave from an explosion set off somewhere nearby shattered the container with the Dyne mixture covering her in the liquid, in that moment Melina discovered that her polymer worked as she suddenly shrunk down. Which was lucky for her as it allowed her to survive the mysterious explosion. Melina had never considered being a hero until the moment she gained these powers, but now she didn't know where to start. She knew her parents would freak if they found out so instead, she went to her uncle Baxter. In a fluke of fate, it turned out that her uncle was actually the hero Bee-Keeper III who agreed to help her explore her powers, creating a way to store the power her shrunk body generated to work a pair of suitably sized wings. Before she became a hero though he insisted that she finish off her education, though she was sure he wouldn't mind if she snuck out to fight crime every now and again... Personality & Motivation: Melissa is upbeat and optimistic person always seeing the best in everyone and everything around her. This can come across as overconfidence as she throws herself boldly into any situation as she's sure things will sort themselves out. Not that things won't sort themselves out without some kind of help, which is why she wants to become a hero and help people. Though it can be a little difficult to tell as she tends to be a bit of a scatterbrain with about half a dozen different ideas floating around her head at any one time. Powers & Tactics: Bee tends to throw herself into action without any apparent rhyme or reason, her desire to help out overcomes semblance of tactics. She's not so foolish to throw herself at impossible odd though, even she realises that there are times when fighting is not the answer. When fighting she will try to solve the problem put in front of her using all her vast scientific knowledge, often in very unorthodox ways. Power Descriptions: Melissa has infused her body with own custom designed Dyne molecules that allows her to compress her own body to the size of around 3 inches tall, as she retains all her molecules she retains her mass and physical strength. The change in height creates a massive electrical field, a side effect of the molecular compression, that she stores using as a form of attack and to power her wings. Complications: Busy little Bee: Melissa always has a half dozen thing going on at one time, with a few more waiting in wings. This sometimes distracts her from other things, including those that others consider important like sleeping and eating. Bee Curious: Melissa can't stand a mystery and has to know the solution at almost any cost, which sometimes leads to her poking her nose into things best left alone. Bee Quiet: Heroes are meant to be ultra super secret about there identities right, but it's so cool are really difficult not to tell. Bee Explaining: Science is rad and all and should be explained whenever possible, cause the baddies might be able to use such stuff against us... GM Post Ms Grant smiled at Asad as she sat down herself, still despite her best efforts she still looked like a child playing at her father's desk. "Straight and to the point, it's a refreshing thing Mr al-Misri after all I've had to deal with over the last couple of months." she at least inherited a lot of her father natural charm it seemed. "As I'm sure you are aware I've been cutting links between my company as those of a less reputable nature. Its lead to us being sort of business allies in certain fields, I'm sure you aware of the touchy situation over in Emerald City?"

Dancia couldn't quite tell why the machine was set up like this, either things were brought in or worse of all the ink wasn't needed for the weird printing it had been doing. These were times when she wished she knew about the supernatural stuff, but it was one of her blind spots that had caused her a few problems in the past. Still, there would hopefully be a chance to work out what was going on with it later, now they should really work on the who. "Have you found anything useful?" she asked Bonfire as she moved over to see if she could help.
