  1. Set has enough crocodiles in his family to recognize that that's what they're seeing and not alligators. And I'm fudging distances for drama, so we've got a little while before they become a threat.
  2. I was probably for the best that he was so... challenging, or she'd be torn about how to deal with someone that by all she'd learned shouldn't be walking around. Best for now not to pay him much heed, beyond any assistance she'd, might need. At least he couldn't see her rolling her eye so hard right now. "Something has been moving towards this part of the beach, in fact, we should be able to just about see what coming our way." Kamala strolled confidently towards the waterline, without waiting to see if he'd follow. She'd not quite managed to get the zoom function to work properly yet, so she'd have to use her thankfully good vision. "Alligators, big ones at that." her voice sounded slightly unsure, though she could only see their snouts above the water, something told her that they were different in some way.
  3. Cathy was probably just as lost as Fred was there wasn't anything like this on her home island or even the towns like Lerwich and Stromness. Even television didn't prepare her for actually being here, she just knew how to bluff it better. The one thing she was disappointed not to experience was the hot sweatiness you'd get from so many people in a small place, in fact, she was feeling rather cold, as usual, and missed her jumper right about now. Luckily she had a girlfriend she could snuggle up against for warmth. "Well, I for one just plan to enjoy the music, though you welcome to go dance if you wish."
  4. Dancia waited with some patience she'd wanted to help, but she understood that sometimes people just needed to do things for themselves. Still, she was itching to solve this mystery and find out how this all fitted together, but her time spent in the wilderness had help reinforce patience when needed. She gave Bonfire a few minutes to get his bearing of this locale before revealing what she'd discovered. "Look's like there's a hidden basement in that warehouse over there. Shall we go take a look see?"
  5. "Honey a lot of people just perform for themselves, the fact that crowds there is just a bonus." Agnus sipped her drink and considered if she should, how she could, sugar coat the next little nugget of wisdom she'd picked up. She could see, even if Connie could not, how similar they actually were. It was amazing how much difference the extra decade she had on the younger woman had one her. "You're not leaving the real world, you leaving the world of dance, which is probably as big a bubble of unreality as being super powered. I hate to be so blunt but you need to look at the big picture."
  6. GM Post Lucy was already sat at the bar drink in hand, she'd look completely mortal, if a little pale a condition common to many undead, if not for her coal black eyes that reflected back everything she saw. The eye suggested a very different person from who Lucy had always been, as she got up and hugged the still damp Nichola as if they'd been friends forever. "I hope you don't mind but I got the first round, a Bathtub Gin for me and a very Bloody Mary for you." she pushed a very generous red drink with that familiar coppery smell. The Cantina it was rumored could provide any drink you could desire, with various stories of just how they managed the trick, and with many vampires among the undead they had the understanding to serve the one thing every vampire needed. Being Mexican themed many rumors abounded about bloody Aztec rituals new or old, but no one seemed to know either way. The perhaps more sensible pointed out that people had to pay for drinks and pointed out a more mundane way of achieving such things. What was true that any food and drink served here was just the most amazing flavorsome thing you could ever imagine. "So hows un-life treating you?"
  7. If Kamala had to describe a trickster spirit she wouldn't have imagined one that would be so... gossipy. The fact that Set was talking about stuff she'd learned as a child, and very specifically the dreams she still had, gave the whole thing a very surreal air. Still, she'd learned not to show any dislike or discomfort when dealing with others, it was a useful skill for the very few time she had to deal with the worst kind of businessmen. "You have a very interesting version of that tale Mr. Set, when we have time I shall have to tell you the version I know. It is mainly a tale of the humans involved and how they dealt with the whole thing." Very much aware of the timer counting down to something bad happening here she turned to the hostess. "Excuse me ma'am but you're going to have to evacuate this beach something is going to be here very shortly."
  8. Near Calavera Cantina 1st September 21:00 CDT, 20:00 EDT Every city had a place like this, a place where people hadn't passed on peaceful and the living feared to tread. Those who knew where to look might be able to find a door to a cantina that served the most exclusive clientele. One of that clientele walked through the quiet streets of Freedom City, without any fear from the streets she was transversing. To be fair since she'd returned to the city Lucy Harker, who very rarely went by the name Revenant, didn't really fear anything. In fact, she was pretty excited for the chance to meet up with her friend Nicola that recently moved to another city, and whilst phones were fine it always nice to meet in person. And thanks to both of their unique status they could use this mysterious cantina to meet up easily to catch up on things.
  9. Cathy couldn't help but be as excited as the other at this night out, maybe a little more as her trips out in Freedom City were always an experience. Even better she was getting to go with her girlfriend, it was like a really special date with the extra benefits of friends close, but obviously not to close when the time came. "You know me I'm always chill!" she smiled at her little icy pun Though she wouldn't say it Cathy knew that a night like this was important to Raina so had made an extra effort to look good tonight ditching her normal jumpers in favour of a flowery blouse over a t-shirt, though for now, she wore her normal parka over the top of it all. Layers were the theme all the way down with a skirt over a pair of leggings, topped, or bottomed off with her comfortable Doc Martins. She'd spent ages putting it all together as was pretty pleased with the effect, even if she missed her normal jumper.

  11. Peri looked around the area with the critical eye of an engineer looking for anything that she could use to help the giant escape, though she didn't see anything that was really that helpful. More helpfully everyone seemed to be focused on the ground and not up at the ceiling where was location. Helpful the Spdr Rig needs to be cooled to help the anti-gravatics work, that helped keep mostly cool, though she'd really need a shower after this was all over. After considering everything she figured that the best option was to help the giant escape and then hopefully they could together work out some way to escape from all this.
  12. Calavera Cantina Once you descend the stairs, past the always changing bouncer, you enter a mostly traditional Mexica style cantina. The place is nothing but traditional in its clientele, however, as only those who have died can enter the place and enjoy the delicious and various food and drinks on offer. Location and Appearance The Cantina is not an easy place to find, existing mostly in Limbo, though almost every big city you'll find the door somewhere. The entrance is a nondescript door that will be found in an area that's seen a high number or particularly notorious death. Ghost can apparently enter and leave at will whilst those still on the earthly plane must carry two copper coins from the date they died, it doesn't matter if you survived or not just that for at least a moment you were dead. The cantina itself is a mostly traditional Mexican style, with lots of Día de los Muertos style imagery, with plenty of space though it never seems to have a few people milling around. Significance For those undead in the know, and humans that deal with them, the Cantina is considered neutral ground, with any trouble quickly dealt with but the ever changing bouncer. It also handy for those undead that are trying for whatever reasons to keep up a long distance relationship of any stripe. People Apparent from those ghosts and undead that frequent the place infrequently only two people seem to be on permanent staff, neither of which anyone has found out the true name off. No one is sure if the bouncer is just one person, or a series of different people, though many have sworn that they've never seen the same person twice ever. They, who many obviously nickname Cerberus, never seem to speak though they are quick and very capable if trouble starts. The bar keeper is a rather fetching woman of indeterminate age, whose face shows that she's seen a lot in her previous life. In contrast to the bouncer she eloquent and knowledgeable in a wide range of subjects. In fact, the only thing she'll never talk about is who she was before she came to work at the cantina. History With the place being fairly obscure, and many that frequent the place being mortally challenged, records of the history of the cantina is fairly sparse. For the few that have traced the crumbs, it seems that the place has existed since at least the late 19th and early 20th century. And whilst the decor has changed over the time its method of entry and staff haven't seem to have altered in all that time. With its obvious decor, some have tried to claim an Aztec origin for the place, maybe as part of Mictlan, though no evidence beyond the Mexican style seems to back this claim.
  13. Archived at players request.
  14. The Praetorians do have a few ships of their own, kept on good working order by Sitara. Though they're not above roping in independent contracts when the situation warrants.
  15. Klara knew that her passionate nature was sometimes a little too much, and normally she had Tracy to curb her excesses, and right now she was sure she'd gone a little too far. This was something that was between family now and she felt that they needed some time together to process everything. And with some timing that only the very young could manage, the little one gave her an opportunity to leave for a short while. "They tend to do that." she gave soft chuckle "I can go change the babies nappy while the adult talk if that okay with you all?" Having grown up in a culture with sometimes complicated family arrangement she knew enough to look at all three of the family members to get the correct permission.
  16. Agnus was always trying to support up and coming designers if she could, even if her name didn't carry the weight it once did, so she heard about this exciting new makeup site almost as soon as the site went live. So bored on monitor duty she decided to use one of the most powerful AI's in the UK to check the place out. The creativity of the whole thing was pretty amazing and when she saw the Briticana range an idea formed for something special she could commission for her next public appearance, time to wisely use more of the Ministry money. "Vera record this for me and give it a less superhero lair type background." with a flash of light she returned from her superhero guise to her normal identity. "Hi there I'm Agnus Stone." in her normal form her thick London accent was pretty obvious, not that she’d expect that anyone would recognize her "I was wondering if you could do me a lipstick that suits my skin tone until it's exposed to camera flashes when it'd go all Briticana? I'm in Freedom City for the next couple of days so I can pop in if necessary." Once she was happy that the video looked innocuous she had it uploaded to her phone to be sent to the site.
  17. In case people have missed it there's a recruitment up for a Praetorians adventure here.
  18. Rosa was fascinated with this whole thing, it was a mystery of some complexity which was something she thrived on. Luckily for some, there was a not so little voice in her head reminding her that a real person was involved and possibly suffering. "We have a glyph here, either a mark of ownership or sealing someone or something." she took a picture on her cell to check up later "This doesn't feel like a standard possession though, it has few of the standard markers. Has anyone a familiarity with these glyphs? It's not one I familiar with."
  19. I can offer Cathy for the first and Klara for the thirds if both are needed.
  20. Dancia stood there for a few second considering her options. She'd not really pushed her powers since they'd come back after the incident. Meeting an evil clone of yourself really made you think about who you were, and she'd learned some much about who she was over the last few years. And she'd decided that she was Dancia, who contained quite a few multitudes. "Hang on a second let me take a look." There was a rush of air and Dancia was gone from Bonfires side, only for her to return just a few minutes later like she'd never been away. "I think I've found something interesting. Do you fly?"

  22. With all the enhanced senses in her suit she couldn't help but hear what Set had to say, and it gave Kamala a moment of pause. According to the teachings, he was a Jinn Marid and hence shouldn't be trusted in the slightest, and yet the name it used was one she recognized from her dreams, one that she hadn't told anyone about. A quick check out to sea showed she had some time before the shapes would reach the shore so she set Safiya to give her a reminder and dropped down to beside the fake god, dropping down to her knees to soften the landing. She stood back up and stuck a suitably heroic pose. "I don't think I'm who think I am." her voice had a metallic tinge that hid her true identity "Though that name you used, where does it come from?" Before Set could respond there host interrupted with a question "Who exactly are you?" Without missing a beat Kamala gave her well-practiced response "I'm The Scarab"
  23. Agnus smiled a wistful smile reminded of the fire that had driven her all those years ago when she first started singing. "I know exactly what you mean I love to sing and growing up I always wanted to sing." her face brightened when she spoke, "I can dance as little when I want as well, probably not as good as you though." She looked wistful for a few moments before adding a little more seriously "Make sure though that's not all you have though, the high of the show is great but you also have to deal with the crash after the party."
  24. Agnus wasn't a massive public speaker, she preferred to sing over talking obviously, but she could turn a half decent speech if needed. It also meant she could appreciate a decent turn when she heard it, she could appreciate a good performer when she heard one. "The kids not half bad, do we know anything about him? I mean everyone here could be suspect right?" she whispered to Erick She was trying to stay aware of everything going on around her, whilst trying to enjoy herself as well, she didn't get to go to as many parties as you'd think.
  25. Daphne thought over the plan for a few seconds, truth be told she tended to wing it most of the time but a plan couldn't hurt. "Okie-Dokie, I'll keep everyone synced up as well. Just think to us and I'll relay the message, no peeking of any kind I promise." With that, she went insubstantial and floated away to a good point to view the place, almost invisible in the sky apart from a tiny shimmer. Okay, I'm ready when everyone else is.
