Whilst Daphne had been disappointed that she couldn't help the people she had more or less put aside the whole affair, she wasn’t one to look back on things with regret. She had school and her superheroing to take up her time. She was a little surprised that her Uncle had mentioned it now, normally there visits were spent catching up on gossip or her learning a little more about her people. “I know the danger that the Terminus represent, but I still wished that we could have gone and tried to help. Isn’t that what we’re supposed to do, despite the danger?”- 51 replies

“It’s okay this isn’t my first faux Triakosia, though none of them have been quite so violent.” She was a little distract as she examined the scene party at the distress at what her double had done, it was all her power unleashed without her restraint, and partly at the vague impression that she’d been here before. It was vague and ill formed like a dream. Maybe her subconscious was trying to tell her something. “This all looks so familiar like I’ve somehow seen similar. Could it be from another dimension or maybe alien technology. I believe some shapeshifters can copy people right down to the genetic level.”

Strangely being criticized for her musical style was less galling than many of the other insults that could have been used.Maybe it was because she’d defending them for at least the last decade or so. “I don’t just sing pop songs I’ve also done some Electronica and a little Jazz I can turn my hand to just about any music you want really. Besides...” she kept things pretty neutral and matter of fact She reached into the tiny purse and pulled out a business card and offered it to the woman “I’m a successful business woman,I’ve been managing two recording studio’s for almost five years now. I manage to turn a healthy profit by offering the studio’s services to almost everyone.” there was a trace of pride in her voice as she spoke, especially for the kicker “But I’m sure a careful woman like yourself would know about important details like that!”

Agnus pulled back with a smile on her face, she’d forgotten how much she missed this until right now. Not that she’d ever considered they’d be such a audience when they met again, and it wasn’t going to be back to business as usual by any means. But at least Asad’s mother's reaction was as consistent as usual. <”It is good to see that you are well and in good health, god has been generous to both you and you wonderful family.”> her Arabic was flawless with just the right inflection for someone of her position, one advantage of being the host of the Spirit of Justice “Hi mum, dad you’re looking well sorry I missed you earlier.” she dropped right back into her North London accent “So what was everyone talking about?”

Whilst conversation between Merge’s were near instantaneous she could understand how the whole process worked and for someone that always seemed to be active she could actually spend quite some time just quietly waiting, she wouldn’t have made a very good thief without having a least a little patience. Whilst it was so tempting to say something pithy or maybe even sappy she settled on a looked that suggested that she understood completely. “Thank you for this I promise we won’t let you down.” she was actually being sincere, if it meant a lot to Nicki then it mean something to Merge. Words didn’t need to be shared for them to know all this. Taking the clipboard Merge carefully filled out the form, in a suitably flowery handwriting, something unfortunately that couldn’t easily be done in this small space with multiple Merges. So she had to do this the old fashioned slow way. Luckily Nicki had been careful to keep herself away from Merge’s activities, and Merge had never been caught, so she didn’t have any official criminal record to record on the forms . She also put her old family address, where her parents had chosen to stay despite her offer to set them up with a nicer place, she didn’t want Lynn to think that this was a flight of fancy because she had more than enough to live comfortably for quite a while.

Klara looked over at Lynn and gave a understanding look, she understood the sentiments completely. “Well I took a good twenty years off to raise my three daughters, though things were very different for all of us back then.” she mused silently for a moment how things were back then “I hope we didn’t scare off you partner off with our presence? We can be a little intimidating I guess, is she still new to all this?” Growing up among wondrous people much like herself it was difficult to remember that all this wasn’t the norm and back home, her adopted home at least, people had grown use to her presence. And to be honest they wouldn’t do more than give strange looks and maybe edge away slightly.

With a little flip Emerald Spider landed on her feet beside the hero who looked just like Son Ogong, not that she wasn’t going to give a little Spider snark. “Why thank you kind sir.” she gave a little mock bow, but also a lot of humour in her voice She was seriously considering how to enjoy some of that excellent food without revealing too much about her identity, but first she wanted to greet the apparent host. Not being quite as reserved as Sharl she gave the android a friendly hug. “Came by bus or at least on top of one, it’s tough to carry exact change in this get up.” being active mostly in the southern part of the city getting here could be a challenge sometimes. She took the time to greet all the staff as they were introduced, with one final task before tackling the food table. “Sharl would you mind if we took a selfie, I need to prove to a friend that I’m actually attending this party. They seem to think that I don’t enjoy fun!” she couldn’t help but think that her Nan had tricked her into attending. -
Peri sighed she had expected something, it was like a Spdr sense, but she had hoped that she’d at least have time to finish her breakfast. As she striped out of her jumpsuit she took a bite out of her sandwich, before stashing her clothes and her food behind one of the stacks, as she did she answered the call already having her headphone in ready with her Spdr playlist. Nan tended to talk a lot anyway allowing her to pull down her goggles and pull a kerchief over her mouth. Then with a little run up she threw herself off of the building arms out as she began to fall, the sound of the wind finally catching Nan’s attention. “I’m kind of in the middle of something Nan, yes there’s a good chance I’ll be on television. Sorry I didn’t get a chance to let you know, the baddies didn’t file a request like I asked.” her snark didn’t go to well with Myung-sook “Sorry Nan, but excuse me a minute this bit is a little complicated.” She began to twist in the air and made a complicated gesture with her hands sending a twirling silvery cord into the air. With perfect timing she swung over the crowd with a whoop of pleasure. Emerald Spider had made what she hoped was an impressive entrance.

Dancia Devons “Impressive aren’t they?” beside Psy Strike and Shrike stepped a young African-American woman. She was dressed in suit that whilst fitted well was definitely on the cheaper side and was wearing a badge that suggested that she wasn’t one of the heroes. “They seem to flying high even when they’re on the ground.” the words were poetic rather than filled with venom “Just remember that they started out just like you, and one day you can reach those heights.” She gave a guilty little smile and adjusted her glasses, obvious a nervous little habit “Sorry fault of the job, I’m Dancia Devons and I’m a reporter. Not that you’ve ever heard of me, and I promise that I’m off duty tonight.” she held her hand up in mock surrender

One advantage that a someone with a shared consciousness was that could, with a little practice, shift their emotions around. And Nicki had spent several months learning such tricks among the monks of Shambhala. So it was Nicki who gave a little sigh of relief that they’d gotten this far, whilst to some extent there was a little bit of Lynn inside Merge they couldn’t be sure how she would react. But there was still a lot of hurdles that needed to be defeated, with a deep breath they pushed onward. “If it helps I’m only around three years old.” Merge gave a nervous little laugh, at the absurdity of the situation “Actually we went straight into crime in our teens. It was for a good reason at the time, but I don’t want you feel that should be why you hire me. I will tell you the reason why I exist if you curious, but not right now for this purpose.” it was weird to hear Merge be so serious about anything “So why I have experience of business it’s not quite what you looking for, but I’m quite prepared to start at the very bottom of things and work my up.”

Tracy weaved through the crowds and handed her wife a glass of Champagne, just in time for the Christmas toast "Poor Alexis has just found out she can't drink here, for some reason she thought that this was like some form of embassy or something. As I left her sister were labouring the point, one of us might have to go and break things later on!" her Yorkshire accent was a stark contrast to Nina's received accent "I guess you never stop corralling you children, even if they should be acting like adults!" Klara offered with a smile She greeted both of the newcomers with a friendly kiss on the cheek and a welcoming hug, not quite as reserved as some of the others. "Pleased to meet you I'm Klara, some use to call me Warrior Woman long ago, and this is my wife Tracy." she hugged the other woman for emphasis.

“I really hope so or this has been a bit of a wasted journey.” a voice came from above Emerald Spider was descended upside down on a silvery cord that seemed to go up forever into the night sky, her legs were tucked under her body and her fingers seemed to be playing out the thread, though it had an ethereal not quite real quality. “I was hoping to pop in and snag a sandwich whilst I was here. Been a long day swinging through the city.” Peri hadn’t been sure if she was going to this little bash she just knew that she wasn’t going to the other party in town. Her Nan however insisted that she go and meet a few of the other heroes in the city, it would be fun she insisted and that Peri deserved a nice night out. And Peri might have faced fearsome supervillians but she wouldn't dare argue with her Nan. -
Merge was quiet for a few moments as she, and Nicki, considered how to answer that questions. All inside her head it was imperceivable to everyone. Mind’s made up she finally answered the question. “Well you see sometimes I can be a bit... acerbic, and I’ve been told that I should tone things down a little.” she was trying to be polite, but it was obvious she didn’t quite agree “It has been decided that I should maybe meet more people and try and socialise a little more, try to deal with the more troublesome customers.” On the boredom front Merge was a lot more certain and actually managed to smile at the thought. “Well the good thing about being a duplicator is that I can be at two places at once. Good for the shop but also means I can go off fighting crime as well as helping you out here!”

There was a sudden drop in temperature and suitably spooky chill through the area as a pale face appeared around the corner, her skin looking bone white in the stark lighting of the place. “Hello am I at the right place? I got a little delayed trick ‘n treating.” Cathy’s accent was a thick Scottish brogue Her white hair was in two braids and as she stepped into the room she was in a fairly accurate costume of Anna from Frozen. “I was in a bit of a hurry and I didn’t have time to change, I hope this is okay.” she sounded a little apologetic, she’d been thinking of something a little more grown-up.

When she wasn’t trying to be irritating Merge could be quite charming and she gave a friendly smile as she took Lynn’s hand, before taking a seat. She looked quite demure for a moment like a young twenty something looking to impressive someone for a job, and it was difficult to tell how much was an act. “That’s a very complicated question, wrapped inside a very simple one.” Merge answer about her name “In a sense I’m part of Nicki, but I’m also my own person. So it’s probably best to just call me Merge for now.” Lynn’s question about documentation made Merge actually appear a little uncomfortable for a few seconds, and there was a brief pause before she went for the truth. “There is documentation made out in my name, but I’m afraid it’s probably not the kind of think you really want to see.” she gave a little guilty look before adding “If it help we could probably file thing as if i’m Nicki, to all extent and purposes we’re identical, right down to the DNA I’ve been told. Though obviously i got the better hair!”

Whilst maybe not the most famous of heroes Klara definitely stood out as she walked through the throng of press to enter Freedom Hall, as well as being a few head and shoulders above the crowd she had also picked out a stunning backless dress that flowed as she walked. She'd bought her entire family along her three young daughter being almost as statuesque as herself. In good spirits she waved to the crowd and pointedly ignore any of the normal questions as she walked hand in hand with her lovely wife, even if it was starting to look that they were mother and daughter. Upon enter the hall proper she left her little family to get over the wondering of being in the Hall, though she hadn't been here much more than they had, and went to say hello the assembled Leaguer's. Though straight away she was drawn to Beth's young twins bending down to admire the young girls. "I too have bought my daughters along, but they are a little older." she gestured over to her family with some pride "At this age the oldest was always running me ragged, in spite of my almost limitless endurance." she was though smiling at her memories of that time, though not enough yet to consider having another daughter.

GM Post Zee glanced inside and back at the little group unsure for a few minutes as to what they meant, as she lived here this must seem normal to her, but realization slowly dawned on her. “This whole place is made from pure thought made from, all this you see is made from the swirling chaos you see inside.” Zee gestured around to make her point “But he has to concentrate inside which is why it’s unformed, but anyone of his blood should be able to manipulate it’s reality.” She was waiting fairly patiently for them to decide what needed to be done.

Dutemps Building December 2016 It was unusual for a groups of people who lived in the same location to gather together to throw a Holiday party, but Dutemps wasn’t the most normal of places. First it was a castle high above the skyline of Freedom City, looking like it was from a fairytale or a cartoon but then again so did a lot of Freedom City. And this fairytale castle in the sky was home to an amazing bunch of female misfit heroes. And today they were having a party. One of the smaller halls had been prepared for today’s event with a incredibly well stocked buffet table and a fairly impressive sound system for hopefully a fruitfuls night partying.

Merge smiled at Lance using only a small portion of her not insignificant charm, whilst a short distance away Nicki gave a sigh. I can’t help it a girl's got needs. Some things we really don’t need to share, beside we’re here to get you a job I could split into two and do both, simple solution. No powers and remember why we’re here, best behaviour! Nicki hoped this worked even though Merge was a part of her she was sometimes a bit of a wild card, that really did say something about her really. Still whatever happened today wouldn’t be a total waste, this place made excellent coffee. “Sorry babe some other time maybe. Thanks Gretchen.” As she stepped out of view her clothing changing to a much more sensible cut and her hair let itself down, making her look as close to how Nicki normally looked as she could. She knock gently on th door and poked her head around the corner. “Hi there Lynn it’s me, I’m hear to interview for the job position you have.”

Even after travelling the world, and several world beyond that, Nicki still had enough ill gotten gains to set herself up with a very nice apartment for a very long time. What with her family also sorted for life and her brother now making a future for himself Nicki was at a loss what to do with herself, well Merge really. She'd come to terms with Merge always being there and wanted to start using her gifts to help people, but Merge really needed to be socialized a little more. Her acerbic manner had in past made more that a few put off working alongside her, now she need a chance to build bridges and make new friends. She was thinking about this as she was enjoying the view over the city trying to catch up on the current events when her eye caught Lynn's advert and she couldn't help but grin. Could it be that simple? So the next morning the unmistakable form of Merge walked into Silberman's Books dressed as normal quite outrageously in a crop top, emboldened with a three, and pair of cut-off jeans and a pair of almost impossible platform shoes. Her hair was tied up into a pair of pigtails, she wasn't you normal kind of customer but then again Merge couldn't rarely if even be called normal. As she approached the counter she gave Gretchen a friendly smile of recognition. "Hello I've come to apply for the job!"

Winter Wonderland Enjoy!

Freedom Hall December 2016 Downtown Freedom was awash with bright lights and color as it was every year festooned with seasonal decorations from every conceivable location. Every building seemed to being trying to outdo each other to be the most seasonal above all the others, though if it was it all seemed to be in good natured fun. Around the world famous Freedom Hall there was a flash of lights of a different kind as the press were gathered around to witness the seasonal event of the League's Christmas party. Only those who were lucky enough could preceed beyond the press corden, or through the side entrance for those less keen on publicity, and the only guests invited were those that helped defend the city as one of it’s many superheroes. Only they got to go into the building itself into the hall which had been transformed into a suitable festive space in which the heroes could let loose for just the one night.

Archetech West Building, Emerald City, Wa December 2016 If you wanted to be seen in Emerald City this time of year the place to be seen was the yearly MarsTech Christmas party a massive extravaganza that attracted politicians and superstars from throughout the city and beyond. This year the buzz was about Emerald Cities new superheroes, which unlike Freedom City wasn’t over run with heroes and villains, and whether they would be invited to attend this year's party. So the PR department of Archetech had come up with a bold plan. Being famous for it’s association with supers run by one of their leading lights and with a hero of their own associated with Emerald City, and some unfortunately business that had luckily been mostly forgotten, had sent out an open invitation to cities heroes to attend a Christmas party. But the real bold part was that it was on the same night as the MarsTech bash.

The Bar December 2016 Bedlam wasn’t always the most friendly place for superheroes so it was always nice to have a place where you could relax in relative safety. Such as place was the Bar, it didn’t have any official name, that despite attempts of the authorities to close down had managed to thrive for quite sometime. The place itself wasn’t that impressive just a series of mismatched tables and chairs, and bar stocked with relatively good liquor, a battered pool table and a jukebox all stuffed into whatever rather bland building the bar had currently been relocated. Even a place like this wasn’t immune to the holidays and an effort had been made to make it more festive with a few decoration across the bar and a rather sad looking tree. But more importantly to celebrate the drink reduced in price.
