  1. Dancia might have been slightly irked but she didn't let it show on her face, long ago she had served in the military and been subjected to much worst interrogation. Beside she was sure that they thought they had a good reason for the interrogation. "Actually the nunnery was just outside Freedom City , but I guess the point still sounds." She tried, mostly successfully, to keep her voice matter of fact. "To answer the question I could probably reach any spot on Earth in under an hour, up into orbit to if I need be." She sat back and crossed her arms, though she tried to keep her tone neutral. "Can I at least ask what you think I'm responsible for?"
  2. "Would you believe I spent the time at a nunnery? And not place renowned for wi-fi, hang on wait a minute." She dug out her work phone, she would be surprised by now if they didn't have her League files with her civilian identity, and started it back up talk as she did so. "The paper has a Twitter feed so I took some pictures to promote my story, only just uploaded then when I got back but the originals will have the date stamp." She showed a selfie of herself with some rather bemused nuns, handing the cell to Edge so he could see she was being honest about the situation. "Feel free to look at the rest of the photos, it's a nice place you should go visit."
  3. Daphne wasn't quite sure why she had been invited along to Freedom Hall but she had been excited to have been asked along nevertheless, feeling all grown up and important sitting there being briefed by Daedelus himself. Or at least until the briefing starting proper. Despite what some "experts" would tell you being raised, as Daphne was, by television didn't desensitize you, quite the opposite in Daphne's case. The images made her sad, but it also made her determined to go and help anyone that she could. Not feeling quite as confident as she did before she cautiously raised one of her hands. "Erm... I'm not sure if I'm of any use but if I can help I'd like to do what I can."
  4. For a few seconds deliberately ignore the senior al-Misri as Geri scowled at Asad suggesting that he maybe had chosen the wrong words to describe the situation. “You should know that we’re not one of those wishy washy New Agers types who believe the universe will provide a happy ending if you wish enough. God... help us against such people.” Agnus had carefully, and slightly worried, explained that her family were Pagan, though mostly accepting of anyone really “Any relationship takes work through the good times and especially the bad, and you shouldn’t just give up because both sides are being stubborn about something. Trust me the Stone women are stubborn women indeed.” Her still quiet for now husband couldn't help but give a little nod and a smile at this. Then she turned her attention back to Amatullah she was all cold smiles, the Stones might appear easy going but Asad was well aware that they had steel inside. "Salaam Amatullah al-Misri , it's a pleasure to meet you, you've raised a wonderful son."
  5. Blodeuwedd didn’t know Morgan that well, actually that was untrue she had studied everything that the Order had procured about him but they’d never been close. But one thing she’d learned to appreciate, both Claremont and The Order, was the loyalty to others. “If you do see him again I’d be happy to come along to show my moral support, sometime more people can help business go that much smoother.” She hoped he got just how genuine the offer was, it was difficult to get the point across with them talking in code.
  6. So it was one of the most famous power couples, in both senses of the words, not that she was expecting anyone else really. The journalist in her really wanted to know their story, especially as they seemed so incompatible on paper, it would be the kind of story that would have made a name for herself. She had actually considered being the exclusive reporter of her own exploits, and eventually those of her friends, but she thought that it might be a little too obvious. Gently touching down she greeted Mark with a broad smile and a warm greeting, it was almost impossible to dislike Edge which was probably why he was often tasked with delivering bad new she guessed. “Why do I get the impression that this isn’t just a coffee and a catch up?” she kept her tone neutral, with only a hint of humor, she wasn’t trying to antagonize anyone just yet
  7. Dancia had enjoyed her time among the nun for many reasons but one of them was that she'd slept really well, ironic considering the last time she'd slept so well in a month was as a puppet. So relaxing was the place she'd chosen to take a holiday from being a hero as well, the last month or so had run her ragged. But she couldn't stay there forever, the story had to be filed and she missed her cat, and as much as she liked it she wasn't quite ready to be nun yet. Once back in the Ledger she was sorely tempted by the option to be a nun when she saw the message from UNISON, it blunted the thrill that she was important enough to get messages now, but it had been something she'd been expecting for a while. She was well aware that her connection to the Centurion legacy still caused some concern among many, especially as most that had come since his death had been bad in some way. Checking her schedule, she was still junior enough that she couldn’t just leave to chase her own stories, before arranging a time to meet. She’d have to catch lunch on the run it seemed.

  9. "Now clothes I can understand. It difficult to find any clothes for someone of my height and build, and most clothes aren't designed for the rigours of combat either. Though I believe there are people that specializes in designing costumes for heroes with special requirements. I'm sure the League can put you in touch with the right people." She smiled along with Leilani's though she understood the dilemma, she'd had to rapidly adjust to a while different world herself and just as quickly as well. "It helps to concentrate on the things that are the same, whilst slowly accepting all the new. And concentrate one the good things and not the bad, trust me that not do easy during wartime!" Her disillusionment with the Soviet system was what lead to her defecting after all, something that was still have repercussion now.
  10. It was getting difficult to keep things so vague especially as they got into the more esoteric nature of the place he'd been. She sipped her coffee for few seconds as she carefully considered what to say next. "I've had jobs like that, where hours feel like days, and to be fair a few that have gone the other way. Though they're far rarer in my experience." She paused so not to over play thing to much "I hope you didn't have the same experience."
  11. One thing that even a suave sophisticated business couldn’t deal with was an enraged mama bear, especially one that was apparently on a mission of some type. “Well she’s an idiot as well, but she wouldn’t listen to me either.” “Geri I’m sure he’s got more important things to deal with now.” Mr Stone voice was soft and calming, but obviously not calming enough for Mrs Stone it seemed “It’s obvious that the two of you still having feelings for each other, you’ve both been moping about it for a whole year. I’d slap some sense into both of you if you both weren’t invulnerable!” there was anger and frustration in her voice.
  12. Cathy gave a frown at the sudden turn of events, it didn’t take much to tell that something was very wrong. Back home she was often called up to make sudden decisions that could be sometimes be life or death, she suspected that few of fellow students could understand what that was really like. “No this is most definitely not what should happen.” she raised her voice taking charge of the situation “Mona go kill the sound system, everyone else try to get people outside. And be careful this smells like a trap.” Not knowing what could be causing it Cathy decided to try a get anything potentially dangerous out of the air. She began to cool the air in the room causing it to form into a cold fog, which if she had everything just right would be heavier than air and settle on the ground taking anything dangerous away with it. It might be uncomfortable for some but it was better than the alternative. As she concentrated her skin turned into it’s icy form, catching the disco lights in an amazing patterns.

  14. GM Post The woman stood, tucking the cigarette butt behind her ear. “Well that’s a complicated question I’m here to help people who mean the this sanctum no harm. But who I am is complicated I may be someone he knew in the past, a partner of either sorts, or I could just be a construct of this place. But for ease you can just call me Zee.” She looked at the bundle of heroes with a confused look on her face before asking. “Why does everyone look the same? Well except for you.” Merge who was leaning at on the door frame, looking a little board, answer Zee’s question “Oh thy borrowing my body, this is not an easy place to visit.” “Or leave it kind of designed that way.” there was no malice in her voice, just a note of pride. “So why are you all here?” as she spoke she pulled on a jacket
  15. On a hunch Emerald Spider lent down the side of the car and knocked gently on the driver's window, and was rewarded with the slightly startled robber following her instruction. “Okay let’s not cause any trouble now, hands on the wheel if you please.” When he did indeed put his hands on the wheel she made the hand gestures to web his hands to wheel, well she actually increased the strong nuclear forces causing his hands to be temporally be bounded to the wheel but webbed was just an easier shorthand. The driver hopefully, incapacitated she lept over to the bank itself crawling over the top of the door to beside the other two heroes. “So tall, dark and Matrix, what do we have today then? Oh and you bought a friend along.” she gave both of the heroes a friendly little wave.
  16. Blodeuwedd began to eat her slice of pie as she carefully decoded exactly what Morgan was saying, not a deep code it was true but it was always best to double check that she hadn’t missed any important. Not that she was struggling to understand the basic message. And it was mighty fine pie to boot. “I think I’ve met there sort before, you sometime need to be a little cold and use an iron fist. Did you manage to come to some arrangement with them, or are you planning a return visit?” It was shame that both of them didn’t speak the same Celtic language or this would be a much easier conversation.
  17. GM Post Whilst the bank robbers were obviously hoping for no superhero activity they had taken a few steps in case trouble started, or they had always be supervillians of some stripe it was sometime difficult to tell with so many way to gain powers there days. One was a hulking brute standing a good head and shoulders above everyone his clothing struggling to contain his muscles. The second was a blur of motion, even when standing still, which probably suggested that he had some kind of speed based powers. The final one didn’t have any obvious powers, but you could never be sure.
  18. Hardly containing her excitement Daphne grabbed one of the boards, not actually bothering walking over to one, as she morphed her costume into that cute little wetsuit she’d been practicing. With a pang she’d hoped she wouldn’t miss the volleyball, from what she heard it was a vital part of the beach experience, but she also really wanted to try surfing. “Okay I’m ready to go! Not to sure about the whole balance thing but on the plus side I don’t need to breath so the water won’t be a problem... and oh yeah I can grow really big as well.”
  19. Maybe all the parallels had made her to invested and sloppy in her questions, but she really should have spotted that she was maybe pushing a bit to much. One of the main rules of a good interview was that you kept an eye on the other person and only push as far as felt you could without unnerving that person. WIncing a little as well as chastising herself for such a mistake, something even more important when being a superhero. “Well not that you can tell but I’m not from Freedom City, like you I come from somewhere far away.” it somehow sounded better that I’m from another dimension. “When I first got here I got a lot of help from some very good people, who helped me get settled in this city. So I thought I’d play it on as they say and help someone else who needed it.” It wasn’t a lie per se, but it was definitely a very selective version of the truth.
  20. GM Post For a moment it looked like the creature was going to get even bigger with it’s rage still building to even greater levels. But somewhere within that anger there must have still been a smidgen of common sense that said that such a thing wouldn’t be such a smart move, especially with hands literally around his throat. In a mere moment he seemed to deflate down to a rather average young man, who had obviously enjoyed the worlds fruits a little too much. “You won’t get anything from me anyway! All he told me was where to go and nothing more.”
  21. He was good but without any boasting she was better there was tiny little clue that something was amiss, she wished sometimes she had some of her friends ability to just come out and ask the question. But that wasn’t really her way, it was like a game she couldn’t help but play. Giving her best smile she slid into the seat opposite him, she was the keen friends catching up on old times. “Wow I haven’t seen you for years! How have you been? I means I haven’t heard much about you work...” she smiled and sipped her coffee “And you know what gossips everyone is in our profession!”

  23. One thing Blodeuwedd had always done very well was read other people body language, so she couldn't help but smile at Morgan's obviously reaction. A natural performer, honed over years of practice, she managed to make it a more friendly smile and it was nice to see him again. She wasn't the grim and serious little girl she was when she first went to Claremont all those years ago, well no where nears as serious as back then. Giving a friendly little wave she payed for her coffee, she needed it with the differing Time Zones, and walked over to the booth where Morgan was sat. "Morgan it's been so long! Do you mind if I sit here?" she gestured to the empty seat "
  24. Blodeuwedd had always had a strange relationship with Morgan, without him she wouldn't have existed in the shape she had now. But at Claremont she'd never really had that much to do with him, having get involved with a little group of friends of her very own. But she still kept tabs on his movements and read the reports her Order on his progress, his disappearance had definitely been of some concern. So when an Oracle got a potential vision of his location she pulled a few strings to go back to Freedom City. Like a lot of cowls she travelled along the rooftops of the city, which were almost like a second home to her as to how often she travelled them, before she dropped into a hand alley. For this one Cerys would be doing the investigation. Entering Fred's Cafe she went straight to the counter "One coffee please, and make it strong." as normal when spending anytime at home her Welsh accent was particularly strong.
  25. Agnus knew the way the game was played as well as Asad and made her best efforts, from above an omnipotent viewer could watch the dance the two played as they tried to stay the minimum safe distance from each other. Unfortunately for both of them Agnus had invited some people who didn't follow the rules, in fact they were proud that they hadn't in the past. The first Asad knew was he had an angry woman in his face, someone he recognized from before. Her face was pale and sprinkled with freckles with a few more years on Agnus, obviously, but the resemblance was there. Her curly red hair though tied up in an elaborate style still had a few unruly strands. It was Agnus's mother and she was apparently not happy. "What exactly are you, and my idiot daughter doing?" Her father put a gentle hand on her shoulder and gave Asad and guilt little shrug, but knew better than to try and stop his wife when something wound her up.
