Nicki gently nudged Dwayne in the ribs to get his attention on the thing on hand, sometime she was sure right now he’d forget to breath if she wasn’t here to keep an eye on him. “That would be great thank you very much. You have a great place here, and I don’t mean just the hotel, what can you tell me about the area?” It didn't hurt to try and gather a little intel about the area and make a few friends along the way, she just hope she got beyond the standard guest spiel. Meaning while one of the now many Merge’s hanging around the hotel was out by the pool keeping an eye on Asad and this mysterious Russian. She was even going to the extra effort of playing the waiting staff, and by keeping out of the way she hoped that neither of them would notice them around.

As the left the elevators and they followed the beautifully decorated Art Deco wall past a series of doors, with door signs in strange mystical sigils and no apparent door handles. None of the door seemed to do anything despite attempts of almost all of them, with various strength levels. Eventually Merge got bored of just following along and split into different duplicates at each junction, luckily the others didn’t have to experience the many multiple views of the Merge’s wandering around. It was all for nothing however as each of the Merge’s ended up returning to the same position as everyone else. The only person who seemed to be getting anyway when they took the lead was Grimalkin, the building seemed to be guiding her towards something though no one could yet tell if ti was good or bad for them all.

Whilst Cathy wanted to go straight back into the fray the sensible part of her first wanted to make sure that Monsoon wouldn’t get hurt in the ruckus. So she took a few to create a ice shelter around the unconscious woman, whilst an less opaque shelter would be more sensible many people would panic if they woke up in a dark enclosed space. She’d also put in a tiny flaw in the ice that would allow the ice to be easily broken from the inside, something she’d been practicing back at the Claremont. Once she was happy with the enclosure she took back to the air on her ice platform and made a quick once round the building in case she missed anything important. She remembered seeing something about building like this on the internet.

I shall use Create Object to create a protective shelter for Monsoon, before taking a quick sweep around the building. In case there's anything to see Notice Roll: 1d20+10 30. Wow what a time to roll so high!

What were the chances of her meeting a new hero who’s only identity was an identifying number? She remember so well waking up with no real memory of who she was except for this tantalising number that she eventually adopted as her superhero identity. A fine well to remember the men and women she eventually remember fighting alongside. “I agree that names are very important.” Dancia gave a nod of understanding “I’ve heard that some heroes like to keep a name to themselves, a little bit that is always themselves. To share among family and friends.” she leant in close to emphasise her point “It’s up to you of cause but I’d suggest you keep Cassandra to yourself.”

“Well he’s a grumpy bundle of claws, teeth and fur, and that's on a good day! But he’s can also be a lovable bundle of fur, it’s good to look after something sometimes.” The general light pater was always a good sign, it put the person at ease and helped to get good, and truthful answers. A less scrupulous interviewer would use that to gain scandalous information, but Dancia was more interested in the real truth of the thing. “Okay let’s start with one that you’ll probably want to think about, what do you want to know as? We can avoid using you real at all, though only if that’s what you want. I hear that a lot of heroes like having a little somethings that there’s and there’s only.”
-
Seeing Cassandra looking at her phone Dancia flipped to show the image on the case. “Oh that’s my cat, Centurion, he was a little grumpy that day. A little unprofessional I know but I wasn’t quite expecting to catch up with you so soon. Just my lucky day I guess.” Living in Freedom City did sometime blind you to just how weird things could get sometime, plus it was the kind of thing Dancia dealt with almost everyday so for her Giant monsters were just another Wednesday. “We haven’t had a Kaiju attack since I’ve moved to Freedom City, but we’ve had a few invasion over the last few years. Couple of months ago we had a bunch of Deep Ones turn up, though it’s not like an everyday occurrence.”

Merge waited for this Sveta to get a little further out of earshot before speaking again to Asad. “If you feel the need to unload feel free. Then I can go and you can claim that I had something to go do, shuffle board or some other posh person's sport.” she gave a little shrug “But all this is, and I really hope it is, a massive coincidence. I’m here for something totally different and kind of personal, a family matter. I didn’t just pop into existence one day to be a bane of your life, though sometimes I wonder if it would be easier.”
-
“Never underestimate how important the little things are to helping people, it’s not all flying around battling monster.” Dancia gave the Cassandra a serious look as she spoke. She fished her phone out of her bag, covered in a case showing a rather grumpy looking orange cat. “Do you mind if I record our conversation, I promise that you’ll have full refusal on anything I publish. It’ll most probably be for our website rather than the paper anyway, I don’t often get my articles published in print. Still working my way up the rankings.”

ic Gang War - Even Vampires get the Blues (IC)

“I don’t know about you but I don’t miss sleep that much. The sunsets and sunrises can be amazing and it gives me plenty of time to catch up on work as well as the the culture of the 20th and 21st Century. But still in the deep of night it can seem that you the only person in the entire world awake.” she gave a little shrug “If you ever need company I know this little cafe that does this amazing coffee, it might not be the best but it’s amazingly strong.” with Lucy’s taste buds being all but dead she appreciated strong taste most of all “That’s a long way of saying I’d appreciate the company of for our little stake out. Things won’t happen till after dawn so I say we meet up just before dawn, I think it’s going to be a good one.” -
Dancia picked out the most expensive drink she could see and counted out a couple of notes, unfortunately she probably wouldn’t be able to claim this as expenses. “Get yourself something as well.” she wasn’t gauche enough to offer a bribe “Do you want anything?” She slipped onto the stool next to Cassandra and offered a hand to the other woman with a friendly smile. “I don’t know if you caught my name earlier but I’m Dancia. Don’t worry I have no agenda other than to find out a little about you. You’ve made quite an impact to the people of this area.”

Foreign Climes / New Civilizations They say travel broadens the mind, and some heroes can get anywhere in the world in mere seconds, but it's not until you stop and experience a place that you can truly learn something. So for this month's vignette we’d like you to tell a story of how yourcharacter was taught something whilst spending time in another country. Whilst they might have help saved the day, it’s the local who managed to solve their own problems. And if your character is active in space, then don’t despair, it just means you have an entire alien culture to work with! Post your vignette in this thread by midnight of Thursday, June 30th so that it can be included in this month's post counts.

Whilst it was good to be above the cloud sometime you needed to keep you feet on the ground, lest you forgot why you were a hero in the first place. In the past people might have become reporter to get the drop on things going down now in an age of social media it was easy to get news of crimes and disasters in minutes. Instead Dancia use it to keep her connected with people those stories of hope and fears kept her fighting the good fight. She been down on the docks for a couple of days now tracking down a mysterious woman whose feats of low level heroics had caused a buzz down in section of town. Finally she’d managed to track down this place thanks to a large man with wandering eyes, and possibly hands, that she’d like to have been able to throw into the sun, or at least the nearest body of water to clean the city just a little bit. She’d managed to negotiate her way inside and made her way to the best source of information, the barkeeper. “Hello there I’m Dancia Devon’s I’m a reporter with the Ledger.” she flashed her press pass “I’m trying to find out about a rumored super type operating in these parts, i was hoping to get an interview with them.” In areas like this people tended to keep things to themselves, but she hoped it might evoke a reaction in someone here. With her super senses she payed attention to everything going on in the bar.

ic Gang War - Even Vampires get the Blues (IC)
Tiffany Korta replied to Tiffany Korta's topic in West End
“Well I don’t have to but I suspect you have to sleep. And it is definitely way past your bedtime young lady.” she gave Starlight a cheeky smile “And I have the advantage of being independently employed, lucky right now Erica can handle all the cases in progress.” She thought a few moments before adding. “Best to watch the place and stop then when they turn up to attack. I’d ask Fred to stake the place out, his blood is 90% Guinness anyway, but I don’t want them involved right now. So I guess I get the watching job! Do you have a way I can contact you when trouble starts?” -

Tiffany Korta replied to Tiffany Korta's topic in West End
The vampire visibly bristled at the Starlight's questions, he obviously wasn’t use to being questioned. It wasn’t him that answered the questioned, instead Lucy spoke up on the matter. “They had a set of traditions that they follow, no killing and no unwilling donor. They keep to some sort of masquerade to hide their presence from most people, no vampire wants to attract to much attention especially from superhero type.” The leader wasn’t happy at this but gave a little nod to say that what she was saying was correct. “And if anyone steps out of line in the West End, they know I’ll stop them with maximum force with necessary. And I have a little vampire in my family, though don’t worry I don’t have any of their appetites.” she smiled showing perfectly normal, non vampire teeth “I might be an enemy, or at least an adversary, but to them I’m still one of them. And they’re loathed to go to outside for help.” -
Everyone had apparently arrived more or less intact though both Starlight and Grimalkin had little bands of color at the tips of there hair, similar to how each of the Merge’s always had. Merge didn’t really need to speak the three were still mentally linked with each other, though they luckily no longer shared her ability to see all her view at once, though she spoke mostly for the benefit of Gretchin. “It looks like this building in some kind of bubble, like a little tiny universe. We’ve not explored the rest of the Overlook Hotel here, we thought it best to wait here for a rescue party to arrive.” Now all they needed was to reconnect this pocket universe with the mirror back home, there must be a sanctum where everything was run from though it would be guarded in some way.

[ToV] Short Attention Span Theater (IC)
Tiffany Korta replied to Avenger Assembled's topic in Europe
GM Post As the little group of heroes talked amongst themselves the creature was constantly struggling against the bonds of his stone prison searching for a weak spot rather than using his, not unformidable, strength against the rock. After a little while the sound of struggle grew quiet, and it was quickly obvious why this was happening. A wave of nausea seemed to spread out from the beast, as everyone’s skin began to itch as boil were struggling to break out on everyone’s skin.- 29 replies

[ToV] Short Attention Span Theater (OOC)
Tiffany Korta replied to Avenger Assembled's topic in Archives
Lot's of little roll to go here! Shkhim will get to go before Psyche can do her stuff. Shkhim save to shake the paralyze effect Will Save: 1d20+9 25, so no longer slowed. He'll also try and inflict his boils in everyone in the area, including the heroes. It's a Nauseate effect so everyone needs to make a Fortitude save DC 23. And against the Mind Control Will Save: 1d20+9 26. He's obviously resisting but as long as Psyche make her roll he'll be under her thrall, remember you have lots of helpful HP!- 40 replies

“Remember I’d been travelling the galaxy for thousands of years before the Deltrazi Republic.” With her easy relax manner and fairly grounded personality it was sometime easy to forget that Sitara had centuries of experience of the universe. Not that she normal acted like she was in an way superior to any of the other Praetorians. “It’s not that I don’t trust their level of skill, but there loyalty isn’t necessary to the best interest of the Praetorians or this region of space. I suspect that some of them would rather disrupt the Khanate in order to strengthen the Lor Republic, even if it not the best idea for the stability of this region of space. The older Praetorians don’t have that connection.” there was a note of sadness in her voice at that last part, they’d all lost so much due to the passage of time.

"You have the advantage of binge watching whole season at a time, some of us had to wait months sometimes between seasons." Klara could easily understand completely having come to the world with a burning passion to help all it's people, something the Soviets quickly dampened though never extinguished completely. "Just don't feel you have to do the hero think, once you have control of you powers. I spent the last twenty years in relatively normal circumstances, raising my three beautiful daughter. I stayed at home in suburbia whilst my wife went over to work." Thinking about though it might not be quite as "normal" as Leilani was use to.

Merge gave a little sigh when she saw that Asad has spotted her, she’d been hoping to avoid all this. But best to get this out of the way and concentrate on the more important. Passing behind a convenient pillar a Merge dressed in the Hotel’s uniform when back to watching whilst the more flamboyantly dressed Merge sashayed over the Asad. “Darling what a pleasant surprise.” her accent she put on was of a local. Not wanting to ruin the element of surprise she embraced Asad going to kiss his cheek, as she did she whispered into his ear. “Me being here has nothing to do with you I promise. I have things to do and I’ll stay out of you way.” She stepped back and gave the other woman a broad smile. “I’m an old friend of his from way back, he still calls me Merge after that incident. It an old joke but you know how these things are!”

GM Post With the cheers of an initially reluctant crowd still ringing in her ears Wayward slipped out the back and into the path of a rather large man and the woman he was apparently guarding. She was a striking figure on the short side and whip thin, but she carried herself with some confidence. A natural beauty even if she was past what many would call her prime. “I’m Velvet Chiara I just wanted to thank you personally.” she offered out a hand “What do you think of my little building project?” she waved a hand around at the building. Meanwhile the mode of the celebration had raised a notch from who it was before, with a happy friendly buzz going around the crowd. Not exactly what most people would expect when they’d thought of Lincoln. Though even now there was sound’s of something happening outside of the Community Center, something was going on out there and it probably wasn’t anything good.

ic Gang War - Even Vampires get the Blues (IC)
Tiffany Korta replied to Tiffany Korta's topic in West End
GM Post The other vampire’s faded into the background, though still nearby, obviously keen to keep there distance for Starlight. The leader managed to keep his composure despite this not quite going the way he obviously had it planned out. “I thought you had a King or Queen of the damned to deal with this kind of thing. I’ve not exactly got a good history when dealing with you kind.” She’d been keeping the West End free of the more extreme type of vampires for quite a few years and she definitely wasn’t on speaking terms with their leadership, however that worked. “We are Tylko Siebie we don’t follow our so called ruler, though we obey his rules.” his still had the faint traces of an accent, Eastern European of some type “ We keep to ourselves and bother no one else, or at least we did until this mortal gang began to hassle us.” he gave a rather hollow laugh “The irony is that they hate us not for being undead, but for not being what they consider true Americans.” he voice was full of bitterness at the fact “They come during the day and with fire, caring not who they harmed. This is not our way and I hope it is not yours as well.” -
It felt a little weird to be the one front and center whilst Merge stayed in the background, it was telling that she fitted in better than Nicki did herself. She took hold of her brother arm in a manner that could be interpreted in multiple different ways depending on who was watching, from friends to lover. After all he was here to meet his one true love. And whilst that was all going on Merge was watching to see if anyone was watching them, and hopefully no one was watching her watching them. Luckily Nicki was cautious but she wasn’t the type to get paranoid, different (literal) viewpoints helped in this case. “Sure Earnest lead the way.”
