  1. The mindscape shimmered a little as Danica thought about Alex’s words, slowly a rather austere little office formed around them. As much as I enjoy my job there’s only a few memories where I’m a journalist, most of the others were I’m not a hero I’m a soldier of some kind. The clothes she had been wearing transformed into the uniform of a high ranking officer of some kind. Sat behind the desk she looked the part, but apparently Dancia seemed uncomfortable sat there. But I’m hardly ever the desk bound kind, I’m the kind who is always in the field fighting alongside my fellow soldiers. She got up from the desk and instead stood in front of it stood to almost perfect attention, her uniform was still impeccable but the kind worn by those in the field.
  2. “You live in a city like this and you don’t believe in a device that can resurrect the dead?” her words dripped with scorn “There are probably are dozen a or more undead heroes and villains I could name active in this city alone.” Blodeuwedd crouched down and briefly examined the floor for possible traces of whoever took part in the robbery. “Our dimwitted friend is right about out suspect though, I make out about ten distinct set of women's feet. Expensive taste in shoes as well, I’d guess some of them had some magical skill by the way they’ve hidden their traces. You better believe our skills are better than there magic if you wish to keep you jobs.” she gave the Security Guards a not unkind look.
  3. Blodeuwedd stood there stoically as they went through the preamble, only a scowl on her face showing how displeased she was with the whole thing. As much as she’d like to make some show of defiance right now, she was pragmatic enough to know that such an effort would only endanger her friends and be much worse for herself. Around 150-160 steps depending on the person's stride. If you have something planned best to wait until I keep them “entertained”! With a single sweeping gesture she drew Dyrnwyn the eldritch blade burning with it blue flame and held it downwards but ready for action. “Let’s just get this over with.”
  4. “Please it’s she, not it, she’s chosen to identify as female. And well... she’s my mom.” she offered Mother Unit towards Holly to hold without any kind of reluctance. “There was an accident and a lot of Mother Unit’s data one the Grue was lost, but as far as I understand it there are different caste of Grue, I’m from the caste who’s tasked with integration with aliens for example.” she sounded very proud of her purpose “But not all Grue are telepathic, Mother Unit can communicate vocally, but we prefer to communicate telepathically.” Space is so dangerous, especially with what’s been going on recently, I’ve forbidden her from going back to into space! “Luckily I’m not planning on going back any time soon, I’m quite happy to stay in earth. It partly why I’d like my own place, doing something normal. It’s all so new and scary, but also exciting!” When Mother Unit replied to Paige there was a note of pride in her thoughts. Thank you. I do worry about Daphne but she seems normally so well behaved, you planet transmissions on child care were of great help in the early days. And I require no special requirements, maybe just a spot to sit and enjoy the company.
  5. Even though she got the distinct feeling that she really wasn’t wanted along Cathy decided to tag along, mostly to wind up Raina with her continued presence. She’d followed along behind as the two chatted away a little shadow following them around, she also choose not to say anything about them going into the dorm. But she had to admit the costume wasn’t to bad, it was definitely a bold choice of colours. “It’s... it’s very striking! I guess you don’t plan to strike fear from the shadows.”

  7. Cathy stood for a few moments on the roof looking down at the police assembled, a moment of doubt in herself. She might be seen as a superhero, especially back home, but here she was just one of many others and not very confident in her own abilities. She could have just flow over, but that seemed rather rude when they were here to just do there job. Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves she created a ice slide down to where the police had gathered, trying to act as confident as she didn’t feel. “Hello, I’m Frostbyte. Can you tell me what’s going on here?”

  9. “So it seems you actually have to go up in class each year, so new lessons and everything!” she didn’t seem the problem with this “And I’m thinking of getting myself a place to live, with furniture and everything.” this rather mundane thing seemed to be quite exciting to the young Grue Daphne carefully removed a Stitch backpack from her shoulders and began to rummage inside as she spoke slightly nervously. “I hope you don’t mind but I bought along a guest, I promise you she won’t be any trouble she doesn’t even need feeding!” From the bag she drew out a matt black cube about the size of a Rubik's Cube that didn’t seem to reflect the light at all. “This is Mother Unit she’s the one that raised me up from when I left the pod.” It a pleasure to make your acquaintance, I must say that you have a lovely place here. For an advanced alien computer it was strange that the voice in Paige’s head sounded a little like Mary Poppins.
  10. Dancia gave a little chuckle at Casey’s question “It’s surprising how common this kind of thing is in my life, the whole multiverse seems to have my whole life on speed-dial. Still it’s weird to look into my teenage face, I don’t remember much of that far back.” It hadn’t taken long for her to get herself up to speed with everything that had bought the teen Triakosia to this point. “Well I’ve seen enough time travel movies to know the question that we need to ask, what year is it in you world?” Daisy spent a few moments trying to remember the exact date before replying. “This morning it was 14th October 1938.”
  11. As a shapeshifter Daphne had a fine eye for faces and it was pretty obvious that this woman was related to the Cline’s in someway. With her classic Golden Age Hollywood looks Daphne was sure that she should recognise the woman, but she couldn’t recognise her face. “Hi there I’m Daphne Celeste, pleased to meet you.” she gave the older woman a couple of air kisses “I meet WIlliam as part of a school exchange program, I’ve also been lucky to help Mr & Mrs Cline on a project, I happen to know quite a bit about television it seems.” she couldn’t help but be proud at last point. When Mrs Cline answered the door Daphne had a rare moment of doubt, she bought along everything she had been asked to bring but what if she’d missed one of those strange customs that all humans knew but never had the decency to show on television. It was a sign of her growing mental control that she didn’t blanket the area with psychic panic. “Happy Thanksgiving Mrs Cline! Thank you for inviting me along today.”
  12. Sitara had been monitoring the situation with her fellow Praetorians and Star Knights the best she could whist avoiding the Spectrum Knight. “Just say the word and I can be there in a minute or two. Things are more or less under control her.” It frustrated her a little that she was stuck her with the lesser warriors whilst they faced the actual leader, but she respected Amara to much to just abandon her task to fly off just to get a good scrap.

  14. Sam & Klara With a little more confidence and not fearing for his life, at least not yet, Sam asked the one question that had been bugging him since he’d learned about Klara. “Why did you give it all up? I mean being a cape and all.” Klara didn’t hesitate and answered with a wistful smile. “You have obviously met one of my babies, well that’s why I gave it all up to raise her. And I have two other wonder children and a wife.” she leant in and whispered “Not to say that I didn’t miss it sometimes.” “Is that why you going back to become a hero?” “Sadly no.” she hung her head “There are people who don’t like what I and what I embody, so I must stand up for those like me and say that we will not be silenced.” She paused and open the door for the young man. “But this is not the time for serious things, we are here to celebrate family.”
  15. Tracy Matthews Tracy had gotten to know Klara well over all the time they’d been together and knew more or less how’d she’d react to the news, though she’d watched the scene unfold just in case. And what her daughter would do whilst the meeting was taking place. Which was why until now she’d been happy to stay out of the way in the kitchen, the bottle of wine helped in the wait. “You lot hop to it, table needs laying.” she was happy to see the girl react as soon as they’d hear her voice, Claire even trying to sheeply look like she hadn’t just been watching through the window. Klara might have been the superhero but she was more than capable of looking after herself and keeping the kids in line.
  16. Sam Trevor Whilst he wasn’t sure what to expect from the Klara he wasn’t expecting this at all. She seemed so much like well a mum, a 7ft tall woman who could probably easily lift the car they were in, but a mum nethertheless. He let out a breath that he hadn’t realised he’d been holding. “Sure I’d like that Mrs Matthews.” “Please call me Klara. Oh and one thing?” “What's that Mrs... I mean Klara?” “If you break my little babies heart I will find you and rip your arms off.”
  17. Klara Mathew “I assume you’ve heard the stories and myths about my kind? How we are all man-haters that wanted nothing to do with them, and would kill any that strayed into our lands. How any male born would be left to die unloved by their mothers.” she made a scoffing sound “Those Greeks had some very strange idea’s and should have looked at problems closer to home, though they were better than the Romans...” She looked at the scared young man and gave him a friendly little smile. “Whilst there is a tradition in my family of female warriors not all of my relatives are women, I have a multitude of them in various choose of gender. My home has long been a place where people are encouraged to be who they wish to be.” a note of sadness entered her voice “Though they choose not to help those around them, nowhere is I’m afraid a Utopia.” she gave a sad little laugh at her own joke “Now could we go into the house now? Car’s aren’t really built for someone of my height, and I’m sure my other daughters are dying to meet you.”
  18. The Matthew Daughters. “In my official capacity I think he’s going to explode.” Claire teased rather gleefully as she peered through the curtains “You know he’ll be fine. Mama gave us all the talk when when reached puberty.” the middle daughter Lucy was the more serious and practical of the three “I know but she saying and doing are two different things.” Alexis was sat glaring at Claire, whilst at the same time trying to sink into the seat with embarrassment “Did you think Mama would lose her temper? Like that old Russian relic she fell out with last month?” “Well no... well maybe! You saw what she did to the table, it was all over the Internet...” “I wonder what the two of them are saying?”
  19. Sam Trevor Ever since Alexis had told her who her mother was Sam had dreaded having to meet the woman. Though she hadn’t been active for decades Sam hadn’t had to do much digging to find out about the woman and her exploits during the Second World War. It hadn’t taken much more digging to find out about her lifestyle choices, the papers occasional would talk about her and her family especially last year when she’d married Tracy. She was an honest to god Amazon, a warrior who could have snapped poor Sam like a twiglet. And Sam was pretty sure that she wouldn’t approve of him dating her daughter.
  20. Klara Mathews The occupant of the car was so busy trying to work up the nerve to leave the car that they didn’t notice someone coming from the house until the driver side door opened and someone got in, it would have to be her they sent. Instead of sounding angry the speaker was actually rather gentle, and much to their surprise with any trace of an accent. “So you are the secret my Alexis had been keeping? I guess this means you are more that friends?” The figure could only meekly nod, a little afraid of what would happen next.
  21. Claire Matthews Maybe it was because she was had an almost amazonian physique but the eldest of the Matthew’s children was the most girly girl of the three daughters, she also inherited a rather wicked sense of humour from Tracy. So Alexis’s heart sank when it was her that answered the front door. “You late! I’m surprised our mum’s haven’t called Vanguard out yet...” she paused when she saw the person sitting in Alexi’s car “Now this could be interesting.” Claire had a rather wicked smile on her face “Mama Klara Alexis had bought a guest to dinner, though they seem to be scared to come in!” The eldest of the Matthews children ignored the rather evil stare of her youngest sister.
  22. Alexis Matthews Like her sister Alexis had been raised to be confident in who they were, it was almost impossible not to be otherwise with a parent Klara. Whilst not as tall as Klara she still was on the tall side, the shortest of the three daughter at only 6ft, and with her family's exotic looks she had no choice but to embrace who she was. It didn’t make it easy in her chosen career as an actor, but she’d also inherited her parent’s stubborn streak. But at the front door she gave pause at a moment of nerves, looking back at figure sitting nervously in her car. Would they like them? And what would happen if they didn’t?
  23. 41 Moulton Avenue, Doncaster, United Kingdom 22nd November 2015 Every child was a genetic lottery and even when engineered you could never tell what you would get. And even with the magical science of the Lyudi Gory, Klara’s people, each child was and wonder and a surprise to their parents. And today one of Klara children had a surprise in store for her and Tracy. With Klara back from the States for a couple of days it had been decided that the Mathes clan would gather for the great tradition of Sunday Roast. Whilst the two eldest were already her the youngest hadn’t yet arrived and the meal, that Klara had been working on all morning, was almost ready. “I’m telling you that there’s something going on with our Alexis.” Tracy only dared to invade Klara’s busy kitchen to uncork a bottle of wine “And did you finely honed spy skills tell you this?” Klara added with a laugh running her kitchen like a finely honed military operation “And you can’t tell? Good job I only married you for you good looks.” raising up on tiptoes she planted a kiss on Klara’s cheek”You keep on with Operation Feed the Family whilst I ply my other daughters with wine to tasty gossip.”
  24. It appears you have been summoned at 10 am. I am a highly advanced Artificial Intelligence with more processing power than most human on this planet, why then do I have act as a message service? I am programmed to analyze vast amounts of important data, not handle emoji's! Well then plot a suitable travel times, allowing for delays and book us a cab to take use to the house. There was a note of amusement in Daphne’s thoughts. Mother Units reply was a mental grumble, but she carried out the task almost before Daphne had finished asking. Having finally settled on a sensible but colorful dress Daphne enjoyed the cab ride chatting with the driver, surprising to her in her home tongue, arriving at the Cline’s residence at almost ten on the dot.
  25. For a while I thought that this might be me, that I somehow time displaced or an immortal who’d lost her memory... Dancia sat thinking for a few seconds trying to put her feeling into words, with stray thoughts bubbling just under the surface. Almost the first thing I did when I joined the Ledger was find Dee in the archives, it’s part of the reason I joined the paper. Every writer has there own unique style, little quirks and phrases that they always use. And her’s and mine just aren't the same, even if you account several decades of writing changes. She looked at Alex with a determined look. So I guess however nice this memory is, and this ensemble really show off my legs, I guess we’re going to have to dig a little deeper!
