Emerald Spider As the scanner did its stuff she got her Spider Phone and sent a quick update to those heroes she knew. Unlike the bigger cities, superheroes were rare enough that everyone more or less knew each other. And that meant they could share information relatively painlessly. She gave a quick version of events, leaving Kessler out for now, including where the car was right now! With some luck, one or two might be sorted out before she had to worry about them, but right now, it was triage—deal with the biggest threat first! Leaping into the air and firing off a quantum thread she quickly made her way to the University district and a showdown with this Speed Racer!

Doctor Rosa Thorne The noise and lights were a distraction, a way to keep people on their toes (those not here to have fun at least Liam reminded her), she took a breath holding it in to focus her chi. There were plenty of people who were willing to take advantage of people physically, far more than there should be in a place like Bedlam, but that attracted those who preyed on people's souls. She had to be sure which was which before she tried to push towards whatever this treasure was doing in the building. Sound and colours dulled as she opened her third eye, using her mystical scenes to scan the room looking for anyone who might be using a little supernatural to enhance whatever plot or scheme they were doing right now!

Centuria "I really hope it's not one of those can't win kind of things, or we might be fighting a Kaiju by the end of all this! Then against that's not a terrible way to spend a morning..." her mom now and again talked about some movie with a no-win thing, but she'd generally not been paying attention at the time. Talking of, she'd made a solid leap towards one of the aliens and managed to land a solid punch, but the thing seemed to shake it off far too easily. "Hmmm, maybe a full Kaiju would be a little too optimistic!"

Centuria As her mom always says, you can't have a normal day without something weird happening. She almost hoped that today would be boring, but nope, there was some kind of weirdness going on! With attention on everything else she whipped of her glasses, pulling up her hoodie to hide her face as the nanites in her hair returned it to it's natural colour. It wasn't a full costume but it'll work in a pinch, hopefully it'd be a quick takedown and they could get on with the day. "Someone should probably get people out of here!" With a few bounds, she jumped up aiming to smack this werewolf in its snout. After that, she'd have to improvise a little!

Yeah both the defenses were correct 4 base and 6 dodge for Nicki and 7 base and 5 dodge for Merge, for some reason, I hadn't written them down correctly. Fixed along with all those minor errors. For Cam, I took those savings from the Stats and applied them so she has a decent Gather Information!

Mz Grue You'd think it would be easy to grasp onto a figure as big as Cyprus, but Daphne was finding it harder than expected. It might be because she was a little too tall and had to adjust to keep him in sight whilst trying to get a solid hold of the guy. It was more frustrating as she was pretty sure she'd done this many times before, much more successfully when she was older. If only she could remember how this all worked! "Oh poo!" was how she managed to express these feelings. All the while taking a stance against possible counterattacks.

Emerald Spider "Was more a GI Joe kind of girl, but the point stands! I'd ask for danger money, but it seems for some reason I'm not on the payroll! So wish me luck instead...!" She ran and leapt off the building, dropping out of sight for a minute before swinging up and away on a Quantum thread. She'd been formulating a rough plan and time spent swinging through the air only helped, it might not work but it was worth a pop at least. She was making for one of the big broadcast towers, by borrowing just a tiny bit of their bandwidth she should be able to track the drone in (almost) real-time. Then she could work out what order to carry out this quest! Then again what was that saying about plans and reality?

The Immutable Betsy Brooks "Oh for Goddess sake!" she'd had volunteered, not out of bravado but because she was immune to just about anything but literal hellfire. She shrugged, time, as usual, to improvise So apparently it was the day for everyone to improvise, still, another voice wouldn't cause any harm to confuse the big lummox of a demon. "Hi, Elizabeth Brooks of the Essex Brooks. You might have had some dealings with my Great-grandfather, who got himself involved with some culty with a literal Hellfire Club?" her vampire side was for a later conversation "Consider this would we be so confident, especially without any magical swords or holy water, unless we had an ace up our sleeves? Best really to let us pass and avoid any messy trouble, for you obviously!"

Emerald Spider Peri had some doubt about all this, her previous experience showed that somehow they'd come up on top of all this. But time was a pressin' so she held out her hand to take the flash drives. "Anything nasty on these that I need to know? I might need to tweak these to help find the drone, especially if they have some kind of learning algorithms!" she sighed and added, "Please tell me that they don't have advanced learning algorithms?" Considering her week these drones were probably packing much, much worse than she imagined!

Dr Rosa Thorne Jack had caught her eye glowing with an aura of a magic user, such things were pretty rare in Bedlam. It was a mystery, and Rosa hated to have a mystery go uninvestigated! She would have made her way to question the man when she'd got the attention of the man near the door. After a pause to think she chose the greater of the two mysteries to investigate. At times like this, I really wish we could split into two again! "Well I'm not sure if I count as a good dancer!" bluffing wasn't her strong point so she stuck to more or less true "I do however wish to get into the club, so I guess I could attempt a quick, boogie, with you!" Somehow Boogie sounded even less cool than it should for a dated term, at least it was era-appropriate for the stylings of the discotheque.

I caught a Raven a few rooftops over at best!" it was mostly true, apart from her Mom she'd only met other heroes on the ground at events. The Goat it seemed were being well fed today, she'd wondered how things were going elsewhere in the fair. Picking up on his uncomfort Kate, gently nudged Jack in the ribs "Not quite the same but I've gotten to spend some time up north in Canada. Been lucky enough to see a few Polar Bears, nowhere near as friendly as these goats!"

Emerald Spider "And I'm sure some senior engineer called it the KIT 2000, so they could call it KITT!" obviously she was self-aware enough that her set-up was called the SPDR Rig to get Spider, though in her defence she hadn't named it only inherited the term If it hadn't already caused injuries and several sleepless days, she would have laughed at the ridiculousness of the thing. And it had to be serious for the guy to swallow his pride and tell her about the whole situation. The whole thing was probably classified well above the level that even her mother would have earned. "Tell me at least that you have a shutdown signal..." she was sure she'd played a mission like that on one of the few days she had time to play video games "... and a way to track them down?"

Emerald Spider Joseph might have been one of the better ones, but he was still a corporate type and hence everything had to be filtered through an annoying level of corporate speak. Having worked for a literal evil corporation Peri had a fight her instinct to just shut this all down. But if this was going to stop the madness going on in Emerald City then it was worth biting her tongue, to a point at least... "Not to be rude..." she said, being slightly rude "But it's been a long day... long week really! So if you could cut to the part where you explain how we stop this, then after stopping it, and maybe naps we can talk about corporate responsibility and mutual back-scratching." Superheroes, like Engineers (Peri having been both) could get away with a lot if people thought they were useful, but she was aware that there were limits and she was probably straddling the line here!

Camera Obscura Minion Alternate Identity: Cam Description: Apparent Age: mid-20s Gender: Female Ethnicity: African-American Height: 5'4" Weight: 112 lbs. Eyes: Brown Hair: Black Style-wise Cam is almost the opposite of Merge. She tends to wear chunky figure-covering clothes from head to toe, sweater and long dresses are very common choices. They're all stylish, she still has the same sense of style, but more what you'd find in the more refined quarters. She wears her hair long and unadorned normally tied back in a ponytail, along with subtle makeup to enhance her features. She does this even though most of the time she's never seen by anyone! Personality & Motivation: Quiet and shy Cam never talks above a whisper. Even when not trying she tends to blend into the background, she the kind of person you might think about when describing someone as mousy. The only time she speaks with any kind of confidence is when talking about anything she has book knowledge about, then she radiates that kind of teacher/librarian confidence. Ironically like Merge, she tries to hide her intelligence, but for very different reasons. Powers & Tactics: Cam tends to stick to the shadows and observes what is going on, before reporting back to Nicki and/or Merge. Unless it involves recovering information from say library or computer systems she never gets physically involved. Indeed if found out and challenged she tends to disappear and try and flee from trouble as quickly as possible, only distractions, normally from Merge, will convince her to stay when trouble breaks out. Indeed the other two relly on the fact that very few know who she is and that she's often around quietly observing the situation. Eyes: Brown Hair: Blonde with highlights Merge is the exact opposite she dresses outrageously in bleeding edge, and often slightly bizarre, clothes that show off every inch of her curvaceous figure. She often dresses in joke costumes appropriate to the situation. Her hair is "naturally" blonde and is also long but falls to the side to extenuate her heavily made-up face. The tips of her hair are often dyed in a different colour with each copy having a different shade. Tacky yet stylish may be a way to describe her look. Personality & Motivation: Merge Trois acts loud, brash and eccentric and comes across as a little bit dumb, but this is just an act to throw people off what really going on. Her personality is used to distract from what she is really trying to do. She tends to try and surprise people, either by distractions or by dropping knowledge of what going on into the conversation. Powers & Tactics: Through practice, Merge Trois has learned to use her duplication powers in a number of creative ways. Many of them just involve using a large number of duplicates working in tandem to achieve her tasks. Other work by projecting herself out at a distance, in a series of rapid projects to move at a distance, or at an extreme distance to collect information. Eyes: Brown Hair: Black As a professional Nicki has adopted a business casual look, tending towards business pantsuits that are well-tailored and not overly ostentatious. Whilst expensive they're not excessively obvious unless you know your tailoring. She often wears her hair up in a sensible bun along with glasses to give her a professional-looking appearance. She keeps her hair on the shorter side compared to the others, normally around shoulder-length. The whole look is to blend in and not stand out from the crowd. History: What do you do after you've sold your soul to save a family member, only to succeed? Well after a short criminal career, and a longer superhero one Nicki has just this problem. What she did was semi-retire and went back to school to study Psychology and psychoanalysis, managing to study all night whilst also partying all night thanks to Merge who couldn't or wouldn't just sit around as Nicki committed to her studies. Such an arrangement worked as Nicki passed near the top of her class, gaining the licence to practice her (new) craft. Using her money, made through a series of investments, she set herself up in business. Not forgetting her roots she offered free consultation to superheroes, and to supervillains trying to reform, as long as they called ahead of time and made an appointment. Of course, being known as the psychologist to superheroes gained her not a small amount of buzz and clients looking to maybe meeting one whilst going to also get help. Less commonly mentioned was that she also volunteered her time to go help down at Providence Asylum. Something weird started to happen to Merge during this time, the first duplicate after Merge Prime was far from the open-in-your-face person but a quiet, bookish woman who wanted to stay away from people and trouble. Maybe it was the stress of setting up a business or having to put on a more personable personality, or maybe she'd studied far too many Freudian ideas but they'd manifested a third personality who they named Camera Obscura in honour of the brother who'd got her into this mess in the first place. Along with all this Merge, and reluctantly Obscura, have still been acting as heroes doing what they could to help Freedom City in their own way. Personality & Motivation: Whilst Nicki can come over as introverted she anything but shy and has, over the hard years of high school, learned to stay in the background and subtly manipulate people to get what she wants. Though Nicki is still inclined to use her abilities to just be left in peace she does now try to use them to help other people. Nicki has always had a strong moral code, she could never harm or kill anyone, and her career as a criminal hasn't changed her attitude. She does however have a dim view of large corporations and banks, something her criminal career has only helped but reinforced (though there are rare exceptions), she'll make sure that people are not harmed but wouldn't attempt to reduce property damage or the loss of earnings. Powers & Tactics: Whilst Merge prefers to use guile and cunning to avoid conflict if trouble starts she tends to rely on the sheer strength of numbers to defeat her foes flooding the area with as many duplicates as she can. She also tends to avoid bringing Nicki into direct contact with the plan in hand, if possible she will remain a safe distance away and allow Merge to handle the situation herself. Power Descriptions: With a moment of concentration, Nicki can summon up Merge Trois and is linked to her and Camera Obscura sharing their thoughts and senses. Whilst they share a consciousness they all have their own thoughts and desires, mostly they have similar goals just different styles of achieving them. Complications: Freedom: No one knows that Nicki is Merge Trois, something that she works very hard to maintain. Emerald Spider Other people took vacation time to go somewhere nice, maybe visit friends or family, Peri was using it to rescue people from car accidents. She'd gotten pretty good at balancing work and patrolling, with naps and snacks as needed. Every noodle and hotdog stand in the city had been visited, with her taking a few seconds to chat and always paying before moving on with her work. In fact the few chances she'd had to check social media were her rescuing people from cars or at various stands buying food. She'd almost missed the "Spider" Signal, the small child she'd just scooped off the road helpfully pointed out for her (between going whee! and enjoying the ride). After setting them down and making sure everyone was safe, she took to the air on a quantum thread swinging towards the building. She made good time to the roof, despite having to quickly stop for a few more accidents on the way!
