Gallia Falling, part 2 - Rene-le-Chateau (IC)
Tiffany Korta replied to Tiffany Korta's topic in Europe
One of the men raised his Musket and pointed it towards Rene. He had the hardened look of a veteran of many wars; he must have been around Rene’s age and wore it all on his face. His companion was younger, born after the Revolution Rene would guess, but he wasn’t a total green youngster either. So the men weren’t wide eyed extremists, which meant there were easier to deal with, but if trouble did break out they wouldn’t hesitate to kill if need be. “This is private property and the workings of the Republic have no sway here. State your business and be on your way.†-
Blodeuwedd sat there and politely nibbled at one of the sandwiches and sipped at a glass of milk, she had never liked the taste of Earl Grey and for a change didn’t have to pretend. “I’m not expert but it seems she’s decided she wants to pit wits against her equal. And she’s decided that Lord Steam here is that person. She must be confident if she allowed the two of us joined in on her little challenge. I would guess the gem has no value other than it belong’s to the Lord here. She may even give it back once she’s finished…†As a matter of personal pride she wanted to stop this Madame Vapeur and foil her plans, but it was Lord Steams call as to whether to rise to the bait.

The two droid must have determined that Merge was a serious threat they left there work on the unit containing the virtual Angela. They clattered towards the herd of Merge’s there little beams firing wildly into the crowd. Some of the Merge’s seemed stunned, but the rest of them seemed fine and all seemed to converge on the final droids. The battle was brief and rather brutal and all was left was the rather smug army of Merge’s. “Okay flyboy what shall we do next?†The room was still bathed in the evil red light of the alert, and it was unlikely the robots in the room were the only defences.

22 Drones, GM (minions) x 3 15 Merge Trois, unharmed, GMish 8 Asad, unharmed, 3HP All three drone will attack Merge 1d20+8=22, 1d20+8=10, 1d20+8=23, so two hits. Merge's Fort save 1d20+9=29, 1d20+9=23, yeah she's fine. Merge will try and finish off the final three 1d20+10=30, well yeah so a DC 28 Toughness save. 1d20+7=21, 1d20+7=23, 1d20+7=27. So no more drone's. We're out of combat for now, but there may be more depending on what they choose to do next.

“Well I don’t really have any way of telling if any family is normal, I didn’t have anything approaching a normal upbringing. Not that I never felt loved or nurtured it’s just that there was always a singular focus in my upbringing.†She stopped and sipped at the wine, why she gathered her thought. “It would just be nice to see how normal people do things, be part of a real family, however temporary. And I guess I should stop talking like this is all doomed from the start. Maybe I’m to use to the doomed romances from myths, maybe I should try some of those romance books and films people talk about.â€

Agnus was still getting over the idea that she’d be allowed to take part in a mission of this size with people of such importance. Even her friend Starlight seemed to her to be more capable to carry out the mission than her. But now wasn’t the time for such worries, for all her doubt they needed her help so help she would. “How about those of us than need to eat, or want the full tour, go do what they need then we can all meet up in say 15 minutes? I’d say whatever passes for the hangar here. And personally I’d like to see what our transport’s look like.â€

“Well it’s nice to see someone has some loyalty towards there loved one.†She gave Subito a pointed look, but there was also a little twinkle in her eye. “Personally I’m a fan of myths over fact; I would have gone for Tona story. But it’s not really our place to decide the winner that would be the one who didn’t tell a story. And just happens to be the responsible adult.†She wasn’t particularly worried or upset that no one preferred her story, to everyone else it was just a story To her and the Order the story, the real complete story, was part of the history of their involvement in first Gwynedd and then Wales.

“It’s hard to tell with spirit’s they can be quite capricious, they could be thankful for free them or mad at us for destroying their body. How difficult would it be to disable the self-destruct? I would rather have professionals deal with this.†Her thought went back to the transmissions; maybe the escape could be a viable asset. She just needed to try and focus Myrmidons attention onto the possibility of gaining another ally. “Maybe we should think about help the escapee; you know what they say about the enemy of my enemy…â€

Gallia Falling, part 2 - Rene-le-Chateau (IC)

Marianne jumped of her seat and stood between the two men beaming up at the pair of them. “Them let’s go have a word with these bad men.†The Hautpoul Manor dominated the tiny village of Renne-la-Chateau, and was visible from the church itself. It was a fortified manor and whilst it had seen better day’s Rene’s soldiering skills told him it still be a formidable task to storm such a place. It was only a short distance down to the Manor; then again everything in the village was a short distance from everywhere else, with Marianne skipping ahead of the pair. As they go closer to the Manor they could see their first problem, a pair of guards stood barring entrance both armed with muskets. -
Just for completeness Blod's Gather Info 1d20+7=21. So we all know something horray!

Blodeuwedd watch with a mix of fascinated and disgust as the Serpent’s People revealed the extent of their plan for this little Lost World. She also could help but make a mental note to update the Order’s records on their abilities. “It seems that we’ve stumbled onto a larger scheme than any of us suspected. We’ll need to warn the Roman as quickly as we can, but if everyone agrees I think we should do as Giang and Subito suggests and deal with this war party first.†She put her hand on the hilt of Dyrnwyn ready for when they were spurned into action.

Steam Manor, 3rd August 2012 Once the Avian’s had been dropped off on the Canadian mainland the dirigible Cressida made good time back towards Freedom City. Whilst the ship made its way back to it’s “home†the more technically minded of the group quickly found the information they needed On arriving at the manor Lord Steam’s staff, as efficient as ever, had arrange for a light luncheon for them to enjoy whilst they planned there next move.

More than okay to borrow Ari term Awesome. I'm with Ari it would nice for the two of them to follow up with everything bought up about Mallaise and the Serpent people. As for the chain once she find out more about what it can do she'll be looking to get the chain somewhere safe. As she has a bit of a mistrust of government's, thank's to her upbrinigng, she'd probably find a mystic she'd trust.

Blodeuwedd didn’t exactly smile but she had a rather contented look on her face, and she didn’t move her hand from Subito’s embrace. “And that’s why i like you. But no amount of charm will get you out of the questions. I’m not saying we'll have to suddenly go serious and name a date, but it would be nice to see how a normal family operated. Well relatively normal.†this time she did smile. “And when you met my family it involved a Fae queen and a lake monster, so I think I can handle a little of your families weirdness.â€

She had learned to listen to John’s ideas after their earlier adventures, she might be a half decent fighter but he excellent tactical mind. She did however also know that very, very, rarely he’d let his tactical mind get in the way’s of other more important concerns. But at some point these Serpent People would need to be stopped before someone got hurt. “It wouldn’t hurt to follow them and find out what their objective is, it might be part of some large plan that we’ve stumbled upon. But if it look’s like they're about to hurt anyone then we move in, whether we’ve found out there purpose or not.†She wasn’t exactly the leader, the other just seemed to listen to her’s and John’s idea’s, so she waited to see whether the other’s would agree with her.

Well Blod has skill Mastery so her Stealth is 30, plus total concealment. Do you want me to put a post suggesting what I said above?

If they were going to get to the bottom of all this they’d probably need to play the part, at least for a little while. She dropped into a thick Freedom accent that she hadn’t used since she a kid. “My Fernando here is one of the best fighter I’ve ever seen. We were hoping he’d get a chance to show off what he could do, if you not afraid you lose some of that money of yours?†She leaned over and gave Freddy a kiss on the cheek before hanging off his arm like some kind of trophy. Whispering sweet nothings into his ears. “Don’t get any idea here, it’s all for show. I’m old enough to be you great-Grandmother.â€

To be honest I going to post something suggesting they follow them, but if it looked like they they we're about to attack anyone they wade in. A nice compromise I think.

Agnus left the coffee shop through the door this time walking past all the police and press, and then through the crowds of bystanders that seemed to be attracted to these kind of things. It was nice to be able to walk the streets and not get noticed, but she really wanted to help sort everything else. At least Velocity was there to tidy everything up, she had to suppress the urge to wave at the woman. After all Agnus didn’t exactly know the costumed hero. But she really did need to work on her new songs as much as she enjoyed the challenge of running the studio she’d always enjoyed singing and performing. Whilst it would have been nice to be recognized as a serious artist just doing good solid pop song, with maybe a touch of the streets, would have to be enough for her. She wasn’t quite sure but she thought she might have made a friend and whilst she now had a couple this was the first one that wasn’t a cape. It was still early day maybe a night clubbing would cement everything.
-
“Oh yeah I’ve heard about her, I think she called something like Young Britain. Like Britannia but younger and better looking, with really excellent hair.†Despite herself Agnus couldn’t help but smile “I could never figure out the whole Cool Britannia stuff, but it’s still nice to have the pair of them around. I didn’t know she’d came this side of the Pond though.†Worried that she might of laid it on a bit thick she paired it back and instead choose to focus on Megans other news. “Ah that’s a bit of a shame, it mean’s I’ve got to work some more on my songs. I was thinking maybe Stairway to Heaven.†she gave a little grin “ But we should totally do the clubbing thing. I know this little place that play’s some kicking Dubstep and Grime tunes.â€

Lucy sat on the back of the trailer and thought a little about the conversation they’d had so far, then she smiled as a thought struck her. “It must be quite frustrating for you sometime. I mean everyone wants to talk about you, but they rarely want to talk about you. Just those little quotes that everyone seems to like these days.†She jumped down from the trailer and stood in front of Asad. “So lets start we the basics what do you like? I'm afraid my knowledge of music and motion pictures is a little out of date, but I’m catching up quickly on sports. Personally I’m into Baseball, probably one of the oldest followers of the Flag’s in the city or state. I know I’m meant to be loyal to the Comet’s, what with everything that happened, but I’m a traditionalist at heart.†she gave a telling grin that suggested otherwise.

Blodeuwedd didn't have much time to consider the mission they'd just returned from, Subito's enthusiastic babbling drowned any serious thought's out. Not that she minded it was actually quite relaxing. The day had been quite taxing and she was so tired she went via the stairs rather than scaling the wall outside the door room. Once inside the room she reverently replaced Dyrnwyn on its stand before collapsing onto her bed. Only then before sleep claimed her did she think about what she had achieved. Which meant she fell asleep with a massive smile on her face. Her last thoughts were how nice it had been to spend time in Subito's company in her world of secret's, carefully chosen words and hidden things having someone as open and honest as Subito was a pleasant change. She actually looked forward to spending more time with the young man.

There reflex save's are 1d20+3=21, 1d20+3=21, 1d20+3=22, wow somehow they all made it. If you wanted to you could Surge for a second shot at them, that a really unlucky set of rolls. For the good guy's at least...
