Gallia Falling, part 1 - The Death of Kings (IC)
Tiffany Korta replied to Tiffany Korta's topic in Europe
Picking up on Rene’s faltering prose Constance took over the conversation “If it pleases the Countess myself and Rene have a good idea on how to recover the Prince.†She gave her a little curtsy, her tone didn’t chance one iota as she added “But I believe the cause would benefit greatly if you were to lead the rescue of our future king.†As she spoke she to be spending as much time watching Rene’s reaction as she was watching the Countess. “I don’t believe this place will remain secure for much longer, I believe the Committee of General Security already suspect that you are hiding here. It would be best if we carry out our plans within the next day or so…†-
“And I thought you were the brains of the operation?" Merge gave another of her cheeky smiles "It just happens that Ephemeral Entertainment are based just a few blocks from this very restaurant. I’m sure if a rich handsome investor turned up and asked for a tour they’d be hard pressed to turn that person down. Especially if they expressed an interest in trying out the machine. I’m sure they’d even find a visit scheduled in if necessary.†She took another sip of the coffee “They we can have a look around and maybe find evidence what going on, especially if you’re comfortable not asking how I got the information. And if we find the recording… well is it stealing if you’re recovering something placed in your care?"

There was one advantage to not assuming a secret identity, she didn’t have to hold back one using any of her abilities in public. She grabbed Wessex as gently as she could and hefted him into the air, holding him effortlessly at arms length. “Don't worry we’ve still got some of the chips left over, but first I think we should both go get some air.†Without waiting for Dr Wessex’s obvious protests she began to make her way up towards the balcony and onwards towards the observation deck. A path that would just happen to take them pass the strange figures she’d spotted a few minutes ago.

The Order had always placed a great deal of focus on learning lesson from history, and it had also insisted that they study for their exams like every other student. So she knew exactly what Myrmidon was talking about. <<â€But British Intelligence already controlled all the German agents, and used them to feed the Nazi the same information, a luxury we don’t have at the moment.â€>> paused for the moment s thought <<â€Unless you can plant information that makes us appear to be after another target? But I agree that we should try to subdue the leaders of this little base, and try to find out why it’s here in the first place.â€>>

In the few second she had before everything started off she came to a decision, it was rather impulsive for her but it seemed to fit the moment. Without a second’s pause she lent over and gave Subito a little peck on the cheek. “For luck If this all goes to plan I guess I owe you lunch again. I know this little diner off Cardiff bay.†She gave him a shy little smile, for that moment she looked like a normal sixteen year old girl. Then it was gone and her face took on its normal stern visage. She drew Dyrnwyn and took on a relaxed but ready for trouble stance.
-
Blodeuwedd gave Subito a little side look “She’s gone to all this just to get us, well him.†She waved towards Lord Steam “I don’t think she’s a particularly nice person. Personally I’m more worried about her personal army of Avian warriors. We had enough trouble with one…†Oblivious to the two teens Mme Vapeur continued her conversation “Well I’m just using the radio as a carrier wave to excite the Æther existing inside your quaint little airship. You much come see my little Vickie, I had to borrow a little from another world for her, well her whole hull really. But we’ll have plenty of time for that later. You really must join me aboard the Vickie for cocktails, I really must insist…†there was no real malice in her voice, only a enthusiasm “Oh you can bring your little friends alone if you wish.â€

“Not exactly. You see Ephemeral Entertainment disappeared right after the whole debacle, and now suddenly there back again. A little suspicious coincidence wouldn’t you agree?†she took another sip of her coffee. “So I, well Camera, tried to follow the digital paper trail and find out who truly owned them. And he’s no slough at running down a digital data trail, thanks to his unique gifts.†There was a hint of sadness at that final part “But even he couldn’t trace through all the shell companies to find the true owner. I’m no expert but it was almost like someone was actively trying to stop him.â€

Well I don't have a problem with the basic set-up, and I kinda like finding it all out as the character out. One thing I'd like to do if possible if have Blod be slightly ahead of the curve and have inflitrated whoever involved, before Crow "blunders" into the set-up. Cause f the plot won't work with that idea, well then no sweat.
-
Well I don't have any idea at the moment but if you'll give me a couple of day I might be able to come up with something... Unless of cause you've got a better offer .

I'd like to drop a Dazzle 4 on our mysterious stalker. She'll also use her healing power on the bites, but as she doesn't know how serious it could be it'll just be to cover heal up the bites themselves.

Agnus gave quite a wicked looking smile “Oh I’ve got an idea and it’s a doozy. When I give the sign make a dash for him. Oh and best to close your eyes in a second.†With a quick glance to see if he was still there she caused her other hand to glow brightly. She then placed her hand on the wound allowing it’s healing energies to enthuse her body. A bit of a waste for just a insect bite but she need there stalker to be comfortable with her powers. When she was sure he wasn’t about to bolt she went with part 2 of her plan. “Now let’s see about that other problem.†As quickly as she could she snapped round in the stalkers direction and dropped on top of him a blinding column of light.

My Charisma Roll 1d20+3+4=17, and my notice 1d20+11=31. Yeah she really paying attention today!

“Why would I need the holiday when I have this beautiful sun kissed skin?†she gave a broad grin, it seemed that she was back to her old self. “So about this safety deposit box, it took some digging and calling in a few favours but I managed to find its contents. I assume you’ve heard the term Arche-Up Companies? Start-ups that take a bit of technology from places like Arche Tech and HAX and try to turn a profit from them. Well it seems there was this company called Ephemeral Entertainment who somehow got there hand on a Brain Scanning machine. They thought they could take brain scan from a famous person and us it to construct the perfect virtual assistant. But there was some kind of disagreement over image copyright and the recording came back into the hand of Angela. And it seems that recording of a, mostly, sane Angela Milan was what they were after.â€

Lucy had a tricky job, protecting the good Doctor from going too far in his diminished state. But she also had to keep an eye out for who was behind this whole place. She subtly took a large chunk of the chips backs. “And we’ll have a few more hours of gambling fun if we go a little easier on the chips. We don’t want all this fun to end to early do we?†She also put her hand gently on his own, hoping that it would produce a calming influence. At the least he should react to her cold touch. All the while she scanned the room trying to pick out anyone who could be behind this plan.

Gallia Falling, part 1 - The Death of Kings (IC)

“France is deep in the blood of innocence, the land and its people are sick because of the last King. It is unfortunate but he had to die, a sacrifice to a new age. But those that have replaced him are no better, only a king may kill a king without consequences.†There was a subtle underlying anger to her words as if was all an affront to her personally “With the Prince to hold up as a symbol of a new start we can gather people under one banner to restore the monarch and start a new golden era for France.†As she spoke she had a wistful look about her. Beside him Constance stiffened slightly, if Rene hadn’t been so close he wouldn’t have noticed her reaction; in the short time Rene had known her she had normally managed to conceal her true feelings. But then again wasn’t her true loyalties of the Republic the Countess opposed? -
Blod's toughness save 1d20+8-1=21, not brilliant, but not bad, I'll take another bruise for now.

Fort saves against the Disease and Poison 1d20+9=19, 1d20+9=23. The swamp won't beat me!

Constance gave Rene a strange look out of the corner of her eye, but seemed intent to carry on with her plan. “I am Constance and this is Rene. We think we have found a way to access the Temple and free the Prince.†She then began to lay out the basics of a plan to enter the Temple and free the Prince, hopefully without being discovered and without violence. The Countess listened to Constance, but kept her attention mostly on Rene’s reactions. When Constance finished she didn’t respond to her, but instead asked Rene. “And what do you think of this plan? Will it work as this woman has suggested?†-
Blodeuwedd gave Subio what she hoped was a withering look “You remember that conversation we had about saying we’re looking for some Afanc? Well telling a woman she makes a good Maiden is in much the same category.†A slight smile at the end suggested she wasn’t entirely serious “It’s not a condition I plan on keeping for the long term Supervisor Medraut, not that I’m currently in a hurry to fix the problem.†She then took a look across the water, taking in the position of everything in relation to themselves and the plan “Well unless I can walk on water, and I’m sure the Reverent wouldn’t be happy if I did, either way I’m going to wait at the shore. Being in a boat around a large monster seems a recipe for disaster.â€

As they had been told the swamp was hell. Everything seemed to want to take a bite of them, well her at least. A gift from her dad she’d supposed he always got bitten to hell when he went on holiday. “How exactly does a bug bite though invulnerable skin anyhow? Though some of the stuff here is quite exotic, I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up in Jurassic Park.†she sat down on what she hoped was a stable rock “Wow it’s been a while since I’ve had small beer, it must not agree with this me. I need a minute her Subito.†She massaged her soldier, suppressing for now her urge to heal up the bites â€Could you take a look at this bite, I think it’s infected already.†As he leaned in to look at her bite she whispered into his ear “We’re being followed, some filthy figure over that way.†She used her arm to point the way, whilst trying to appear like she was showing him the bite.
-
Agnes gave a broad smile at King of Suits comments “Why you little charmer you.†she gave him a playful tap on the shoulder with her fist “I suppose that if he does get into trouble I can get there straight away. Besides I’m not really a investigator, I’m just here to look pretty!†She spent a few minutes chasing her food around the plate before speaking again. “So what exactly have we found out so far? And what do we still need to find? I mean beside the whole stop this super-bug spreading further…â€

Blodeuwedd couldn’t help but give a little smile; she’d seen beginners, who thought they knew better, be humiliated by master beating all at the same time. She suspected that Erik would be capable of beating them all at the same time. It would have been interesting to watch, but now was not the time she was here to improve her technique. “I agree with the others that I prefer the one at a time method. May I suggest that you start with the few of us that have some sword wielding experience? It would probably be of more use to see others fighting before trying it themselves." She had a sneaking suspicion that she had just volunteered herself to go first. Still this should be interesting.

To her mind the gym was a little over complicated, full of machine which you didn’t really need to keep yourself in shape. She’d been taught to use what was available to keep yourself in shape, she guessed her Taid was just old fashioned like that. Though the wall looked like it would provide a minor challenge, though the walls of the academy caught more of her attention as a challenge. “Diolch ond yr wyf i'n iawn.* I think lost my guide when I arrived, I can be quite hard to spot if I put my mind to it. The parkour club sound interesting, it’ll be a good way to learn the layout of the City.†* Thanks but I'm okay.

Angus looked a little torn for a few second, she knew Starlight was in some way right but a small production company like this would never recover from this lot. The spirit of justice inside her was compelling her to try a stop Merge from stealing all the money. “Okay the hostages seem fine so let’s take her down. But I think it’s best if we split up and take down both groups at the same time. You’ve gotta point about all that dosh, but I’m still compelled to try and stop her. I can’t quite explain it, it’s all about the burden that come with this form I guess.â€

“Well I think the decision should be Lord Steam, I don’t want to put his beautiful Cressida at risk without his consent. And besides your flying outside might provoke the Avians.†She looked thoughtful for a few seconds. “Maybe we should….†She didn’t get a chance to finish as the radio crackled into life. “Is this thing on? Ah yes I see that we are. I find these things so impersonal, just give me a minute.†The feminine voice contained a hint of a French accent. From the radio jumped a spark of electricity, which swirled around in the air, shifting a altering until it revealed the image of a woman. She was a rather attractive woman of indeterminate age with porcelain pale skin. If it wasn’t for her mass of burgundy coloured hair the image could be in black and white. She was dressed in the khaki clothes of a traditional Victorian adventurer. After the image stabilised it began to move as if she was in the room talking. “Now that’s much better. Ah Lord Steam I assume, and you bought your long friends along how quaint.†She held her hands to her face “I suppose I should really introduce myself I am Madam Vapeur…â€
