Gallia Falling, part 1 - The Death of Kings (IC)
Tiffany Korta replied to Tiffany Korta's topic in Europe
“Now that was the thinking of a Soldier. Sometime your weapons are not these…†She squeezed his arms “…but what god has given you up here.†She tapped the side of her head “Perhaps a demonstration would be more enlightening.†She gave a wide grin “Go stand the other side of the street and observe.†When she could she he couldn’t be obviously seen she began to search her bag frantically among bouts of saying “Where is it†and “I’m sure I left in in her.†When Constance was sure that she the attention of the Waiter, and most of the Café, she threw her head in her hand and began to sob wildly. “Oh my I had my purse in me when I left the house, some ruffian must have stolen it.†She managed between large sobs “And this was a treat for my husband, I saved so long to afford this. And he’s leaving this very day to serve our Republic in the Army. And my foolishness has ruined everything, everything.†At the end her voice a heartbroken wail. The Waiter has a concerned look on his face, partly for this sobbing idiot of a woman, and partly the fact that she could potentially drive away customers. Quickly he came to a decision. “A potential hero of the Republic, how could I spoil such a special day. The coffees are on me, no don’t argue I insist.†He carefully maneuvered her away from the table and back onto the street. As he did Constance winked at Rene and behind his back threw some money onto the table, enough to pay for the coffees and a very generous tip. She crossed the road and re-joined Rene. “Maybe Diderot is true when he described women as unscrupulous as to their methods.†-
“I suppose there is some logic in that. I’m still not 100% convinced about this, but if it keep you two happy. But this is a onetime deal, at least when we dealing with our friends.†She gave them both a scowl giving particular effort to Kit, but didn’t do anything that would give the act away. Instead she leaned against a tree trying to act as nonchalant as possible. She then relaxed giving a fairly accurate version of Tona’s stance. Not that bad considering they’d know each other for only a short amount of time.

Agnes gave one of her full megawatt smiles and turned on the charm. She was a little out of practice but she still knew how to charm people when she put her mind to it. “If we wanted the second best we’d have stayed in Freedom City. But we wanted the best man in the field so we came all the way to Boston, to you Dr Highfollow.†She filed the name away, or at least what he’d gave them, in case he could be useful or was important to the case. “So this Archaevirus how would you go about curing it? And with some speed as well, we don’t have the luxury of time…â€

Does Revenant have a chance to leap after the fleeing form? I'm thinking of grappling the fiend to the ground...

After a frustrating night of chasing rumors Lucy was a little downbeat. She’d almost consider trying to track down some actual Vampire to ask their opinion, but she wasn’t quite sure how they would react to her presence. But the young one couldn’t stand the light and anything old enough to still be up would cause more problem than they were worth. So instead she wandered down to the hospital to check on the only survivor, hopefully he’d would have recovered enough to answer a few questions. “Hi there I’m Lucy Harker; I’m here to see Doctor Wessex about a patient.â€

Constance gave a small smile “I hope that it doesn’t come to that. It would be a shame to spoil those looks. No I have a better idea, let’s suggest we can give her what she wants.†She sipped her coffee and let that idea sink in.†“With the death of his father Louis XVII became the King of France, despite being of the tender age of nine. Currently we’re holding him over there in the Temple.†She waived towards an ugly imposing fortress. “If we we’re seen entering the building to talk to Louis, and I’ve no doubt that the Monarchist are watching the place, we can then claim we have found a way to free there King.†-
It had been a little while since she’d done any lock picking and so intent was she on getting it right she wasn’t checking for other visitors to the basement. Cursing inwardly she slowly stood and turned, casually drawing a throwing knife behind her back. Just in case things went bad. “I don’t suppose you’d believed I’d that lost my key’s?†as she spoke she remember her distinctive accent, but it was too late to hide the fact. She scanned the room looking for the owner of the voice, the lame humour was just there to earn a few moments. “Could I ask why exactly you’re down here?â€

Agnes had worried a little how they would react to a 6ft tall Woman of Colour, but they seemed to be cool with her being there. Or maybe they were all just all too tired to care. Now let’s see if they could deal with her being British. “Well I have done some Medical Work I’m a qualified Doctor and all. I can’t cook for toffee thought, I can burn water...†That would explain the healing power, and get her out of cooking duties. She let the married line slide, it would stop them thinking she was a camp follower. She hopped up onto the wagon and offered her hand to Subito. “Hop up honey!†she grinned at him before turning to the Captain “I’m Agnes Stone by the way.â€

Blodeuwedd normally planned for everything, but today she was a little tizzy. For today she’d get to train under a real honest to god Freedom City swordsman. She shouldn’t be quite so excited about just a training session, but somehow the sword wielders of Freedom City had certain mystique about them. She’d even bough herself proper workout clothes figuring her body armour would be to obvious, a despite her all her instincts she’d left Dyrnwyn at home. She did however have a few throwing knives in her purse just in case. She thought she’d thought of everything until she walked through the door, early but not too early, and saw John sitting there. Perhaps she should have asked the school for permission, she didn’t peg John as a tattle tale but best not to take any chances. She slipped in a near perfect local accent and hoped John wouldn’t make the connection between Blodeuwedd and Cerys. “Hi there I’m Blodeuwedd. I called ahead about taking a class her today.â€

The French Consulate, Lantern Hill, Bastille Day 2012 GM Post Every Bastille day the Consulate held a black tie event in honor of the first strike in the freedom of the Republic. But this year was a little special. The French Government had leant Freedom City a marvelous example of 18th Century art, the La Comtesse de Domrémy (The Countess of Domrémy); mystery had surrounded the identity of the woman in the image down the ages. Now a Freedom City scholar had managed to identify the woman, and despite talk of a curse if the name was reveled, and the Consulate planned to reveal her identity on this very night. For such a momentous event they had expanded the size of the gathering asking many of the city’s Major dignitaries as well as an open invitation of any hero originally from France.

Liberty Park, 13th July 2012 GM Post The police of Freedom City were by a large a special bunch. They tended to see more weird stuff than any other Police department in America, if not the world. So when with a large pop a vortex opened open in Liberty Park the two Mounted Officer just kept an eye on the phenomena and waited for some heroes to show up. Compared to most the figure that emerged was rather normal. She looked like an everyday soldier but there were differences to the uniform she wore. The helmet and body armour, harking back to those worn many centuries again by Roman Legionnaires. Plus as well as the rifle she wore on her back at her hip was a holstered a Gladius. She didn’t seem violent so they weren’t overly concerned and could only look at each other as she spoke to them in a strange tongue.

Blodeuwedd!Tona couldn’t help but frown, she wasn’t quite sure quite sure about this. She knew they were meant to be having fun but this just felt wrong to try and trick Mali. “I can see this being suitable for fooling your enemies or gathering intel, I do something similar often mysef. But should we really being trying to trick a friend? I don’t want to sound like a killjoy, but it just doesn’t seem well right.†She stared down at her, well Tona’s, feet feeling a little self-conscious for even voicing her concerns.

Blodeuwedd traipsed behind the party still feeling a little embarrassed at her accidental innuendo. “You know not everything is a competition Tona. We’re just good friends that all.†though even she didn’t think she sounded convincing. She hadn’t quite worked out her feeling about Subito, this was all still new to her. Subito’s stories about the haunted shadow caused her to roll her eyes. “I told you before Subito there is no magic here and it’s not haunted. The same way that the Big Oak out front isn’t trying to eat Crow. And trust me I should know its what I do.â€

Revenant flicking through the book to see if she can find a reference to something similar. She's got all night so I'll Take 20 on her Knowledge (Arcane) for a total of 24. If that doesn't help she'll hit the street to search for info on this new drug. Taking my time again so a 18 on Gather Info and 26 on Streetwise as needed. The many advantages of not needing to sleep .

“Okay then I’ll see how he’s doing in the morning. I could do with the Detective who looking into the case they might have found something to save me time.†She gave her best winning smile “And thanks for helping out tonight. Your welcome to come back anytime, the sister are always looking volunteers.†Once she had made sure to get his contact detail and made sure he got saftly to his car, she made a leisurely walk back to her home. By now most of the local criminals knew about her and she didn’t have any trouble. She knew what had to be done next; she’d have to check The Book. The theories and thought of an Ancient Vampire wasn’t something to dip into lightly. She sat herself on the roof of her building as normal and cracked open the book and tried to look for evidence that this was all part of the Master’s grand plan.

Wait what was she thinking? Maybe this chain was having more of an effect on her than she realized. With some effort she put the chain in her bag and sent it to whatever dimension it all went, hopefully far enough away to reduce it influence. “Yeah of cause, just make sure he’s properly bound and preferably gagged. All his babbling is giving me a headache. I’m not sure where Broken Crow is, last I remember him was in the 18th Century. We might be able to put a call out on the Astral Plane for him, but I’m still fatigued from everything that’s happened today and I’d prefer to do it behind the Union lines.â€

Between a few other investigations Blodeuwedd managed to spend time in Red Benny. Whilst she could make herself to obvious, even a place like Red Benny’s would panic if they found out how young she really was. She could still skulk around the place and get to know the regular and learn all that was going at the bar. All she had to do was play and little pool and be good enough to beat people. As she’d been taught sometime the best way to hide was to be obvious and it wasn’t long before she was learned all she could about the place and the existence of the mysterious door. So tonight she’d waited until the place had closed, changed into her costume and snuck down into the basement so she could discover what was behind the door.

The one advantage of going to a Victorian themed convention was that everyone was so polite all the men bowed and the women curtsied (and a few of the bolder one also bowed) as Lord Steam passed. To allot of them he was a bonafide hero they just played being Victorians for the weekend, he’d actually lived the part. As many people showed in an interest in Bessie a steam ages wonder in its own right. A small group of steam-heads gathered round the car and asked Kamil polite questions about its performance. Into this sashayed Blodeuwedd glorious in a magnificent Deep Blue Gown looking for all the world like a Victorian lady. Even her normal goggles, perched on top of a long flowing hair styled into ringlets, looked perfect for the entire ensemble. She stood there gracefully looking around for Subito, and also looking for potential trouble spots and hiding places.

Lucy continued to dish up food to the homeless while trying to process exactly what the doctor had said. Her medical knowledge was pretty lacking and about 90 years out of date but she thought she’d gotten the basics of it. “So they somehow got filled with Undead blood which filled them full of life. Enough to kill them. Unfortunately I think I know what going on.†It had all the hallmarks of The Master, but what was he trying to do exactly? Unless he was trying to repeat the happy accident that created her? “Have the police investigated these cases? And do you think that the man is well enough to see visitors?â€

Gallia Falling, part 1 - The Death of Kings (IC)

Constance eyes widened with surprise “So you are a philosopher among your other talents. I am very tempted to abandon our task and head instead for the Café Procope where we could listen to the teachings of Diderot, Voltaire and Rousseau. And drink much finer coffee than this dive.†She sipped her coffee “Unfortunately far too often I must answer to those of a more political bent.†She seemed genuine sad at this thought “Though I suspect that some of those masters will taste that bitter fruit. And maybe with that last sacrifice Madame Guillotine will be sated.†She pause aware perhaps that she may have said too much, or was she despite her earlier promises trying to asses Rene’s dedication to the revolution? As she sipped her coffee her face again gave away nothing. “But alas back to business. Are you aware of the succession of the Royal household that this Gallia is trying to restore?â€
