  1. k, Diplomacy (1d20+10=19) Ooohhh so borderline!
  2. Lucy always had one flaw as a lawyer; she always had trouble lying to her clients. Especially if it was something important. “Hello there I’m Lucy Harker. And I’m afraid I’ve nothing to sell or revelations to bring. Actually I’m here to find answers, and I hope you can help me?†She was charming and respectful in equal measures, but moved her foot gently to block the door closing, just in case. “I believe that poor Winona, god rest her soul, knew something about Bloody Nora. Something so terrible she shut herself away for years. I’m here to find the truth and make sure people know what she went through, and that nobody has to go through this ever again.†She look hopeful at William hoping she had said enough to convince him.
  3. Right I've put a bit of thought into this. Apart from the first couple of months she'll spend the majority of time in the UK, as you've pointed out she strongly tied to the country. The idea is give her a tie to the US so she travels there for a couple of days every couple of months, it means limiting the number of thread she can apear in but it makes better sense to me. The person she is means she can't help but get involved in helping people, despite being so far from home.
  4. I've assumed like as you said I've taken my time to do all the research, a big advantage of not needing to sleep!
  5. After that she left the comfort of the library to have a quick wander around the Centennial Circle, she considered entering the District Courthouse but now probably wasn’t the time to revisit that part of her life. Another series of rail and bus and she was in the vicinity of Cobbleback Lane. The area was a little run down and people were a little wary of her, but after spending a few hours asking around, a big smile and a friendly manner still went a long way. The poor woman seemed to be scared of the night hiding away a painting of Nora, from her limited finding a murdered and cannibal, she had one of her strange hunches that the two were in some way connected. Oh well only more place to try. As the afternoon turned into evening she stood before the faded glory of poor Mrs Webb former adobe. With barley a hint of apprehension she knocked on the door.
  6. The granite façade that was the Central Library hadn’t changed much since her time. She gave April the Sphinx a little pat on the claw for luck as she climbed the step. She passed by the computer, though she was beginning to get a hang on them, and instead went for the unchanging silence of the shelves. The system hadn’t changed since her time and after only a few hour searching she found out all she needed about Mrs Winona the owner. She felt a little sad that almost all of this poor old woman’s entire life had passed whilst she had slept. Then again she’d have to get use to this; she supposed that she was even older than Rene.
  7. Despite Rene departure Lucy managed to enjoy the reminder of the party, her mood having been lifted by the entertaining Frenchman. The rest of the evening and night she spent watching television and catching up on her reading. Such was the downside of never having to sleep. First thing in the morning she took the bus then the monorail into the centre of Freedom City. Sure she could have walked it but she enjoyed the hustle and bustle of everyday people around her, especially the sudden rush when a hero passed by. Not expecting trouble she had put on a simple t-shirt and a pair of jeans, clothing that would have been considered scandalous for a woman to wear in her day and age. Just in case she had taken along her suit jacket.
  8. Actually as she hasn't made her mind up about Nora I was going to start with the house, find out what I can about the owner. First the library then the streets around the home. Which I hope is something I can do with my skills.
  9. I'm more or less patied out. Time for a bit of research I think. To the LIBRARY! :)
  10. Lucy watched the taxi pull away, momently lost in her own thoughts. Hmmm, there’s something about that old man, defiantly more than meets the eye. Defiantly someone to keep an eye on and if possible keep on his good side. First thing tomorrow she’d do a little bookwork on 16 Cobbleback Lane, and then a little field work. But the rest of the night, well that was all hers. She was actually beginning to enjoy herself, something else to thanks Rene for… She returned to the party with a spring in her step.
  11. Lucy stood up and dusted herself down. She gestured toward the pale twins. “Well I’m no expert, but I don’t expect that the traps are calibrated for out two friends there.†She looks thoughtful for a few seconds. “So it’s probably best if we travel in roughly the same order, I still think I’m uniquely capable of taking the lead. With the twin a good distances ahead so they don’t get caught in any of our blunderings.†She looked at the King of Suits “But you’re the boss, I’ll go with your call.†She looks around at the other awaiting their responses.
  12. “Of cause Monsieur I understand completely. I can’t begin to thank you for your help, if there is any way to return the favour, don’t hesitate to ask.†She scrawled a number on a carefully folded napkin “As I said I’m not yet established so I’ll have to give you a friends number.†handing the napkin to Rene. She leant forward and gave Rene a little peck on the cheek; then into his ear she whispered. “And you can owe me for the dress.†All smiles Lucy again offered her arm “But at least let me walk you to the door.â€
  13. Not exactly the world greatest detective, but hey it was a result. "I've only just returned after several years out of the profession. I've a few legal issues to sort out before I start practising." like being legally dead "But I would be more than happy to do Pro Bono work for your organisation. I spent a while homeless myself so I know the challenges they face everyday." "Thank you kindly for your help." she stuck out an arm "If you could spare some time Monsier deSaens would you care to show a poor girl some art?"
  14. Lucy smiled a sly little smile “I’ve always found a certain beauty in simple black and white. It adds class.†She glanced back at Bloody Nora; she almost felt her eyes looking back balefully at her. “I already spend some time down at the Soup Kitchen down at Our Lady of Mercy, but I’m sure I could spare a few more hours. I’m a lawyer by training, to answer your question, but I’ve only just returned to the city and I’m still settling in. The painting, it reminds me of tales from my childhood.†She adopted a rather embarrassed look. “I sorry to bother you with such trivial questions, with you being such a busy man. But can you remember where the unfortunate woman lived?â€
  15. Fair enough I've removed all the addictions. I've also tried to make it clearer who, what and where the shooting took place.
  16. Well these two seem to know more about what’s going on than we do, and it looks like we could use the help. “Guess that just leaves me. I’m Revenant. If you have an idea where they are could you possibly leads us there? It beats wandering in the dark looking for trouble. Which is something I seem to be good at.†She gave a broad friendly smile. “And maybe if you want after we can help you with whatever brings you to the sewer. Or not. It’s your call. What do you say?†Revenant offered a hand to help them up.
  17. Revenant wasn’t happy at all, she rather liked that dress. But first things first, she quickly measured up the two opponents and decided to take down the South-Asian mage. Vaulting over the counter Revenant stuck out and elbow planning to strike to startled mage. The strike was good but he rolled at the last minute so the elbow barley contacted. Kapalini was having better luck with the creature of clay he had activated, with a few gestures and some mumbled words in Sanskrit a series of rents appeared in it “fleshâ€. The Mage responded to Revenant attacks by standing back a launching another burst of dark fire, only to have it again roll off of her porcelain skin.
  18. Revenant : simple strike (1d20+10=11) DC 25 save for Mage (1d20+10=30), he’s fine. Kapalini is going for the Golem, ranged damage (1d20+7=21) Golen vs DC 22, 1d20+12=16, Yay Golem is Stunned and Injured. Golem is Stunned, so misses his go Finally the Mage, another Hellfire (1d20+9=24), another hit Revenant vs DC 27, (1d20+10=29), no wounds.
  19. Right I have her older wiser and on the mend before Britannia. I've also added a selfless act thet allowed the spirit to offer a chance of redemtion.
  20. Yeah I can see that. The easy part is the age I c an add a couple of year so she fell apart at 19. I'll make it clearer but Annice is her exagerated stage personna, while Agnes is the "real" her. As for why she was picked, that's a little trickier. I'm thinking a moment of redemtion where despite have fallen so far she did the right thing. I'll have to give it some thought.
  21. Eighty years ago she wouldn’t know anything but that he was a friendly flirt. Helpfully though her friends Rhoda and Yolanda had introduced her to this world. It still didn’t mean she blushed at such a blatant compliment “Charmed to meet you Mr Fernando. I’m afraid Monsieur’s accent may be a little too strong, it’s Har-ker. But that is of no matter.†She downed another glass of wine and deftly grabbed another, if only she could actually get drunk on the stuff. “I was interested in the piece over there. The rather morbid piece called Bloody Nora, it reminds me in a strange way of my youth. I was wondering if you had any more information about its origins and possibly its painter?â€
  22. Okay I've completly redone the character, changing the backgound plusa few tweaks on the sheet to hopefully create a better character.
  23. The evil mage has a Golem, normal stats p 233. For Kapalini I'm using Shaen's Psion Iniatives Revenant : (1d20+2=20) Mage : (1d20+1=4) Golem : (1d20-1=7) Kapalini : (1d20+4=16)
  24. She should walk away… But the picture stirred memories in her. She remembers her parents warning about strangers, people like Bloody Nora. But she was just a myth wasn’t she? …defiantly walk away… A childhood fear, something to be conquered, like the old Polish shop. But it could just be the weight of ages finally catching up with her. Her face showed her inner conflict, no stoic face for her. Never walk away from a fight, that what she’d learned. First know your enemy. “Thank you for your help Monsieur. I think I wish to learn more about this piece. I think Francis mentioned that a few pieces for sale. “ She turned to walk away and find Francis. And hopefully a clue to this little bugbear.
  25. Kapalini watch the poor woman engulfed in a black magical fire. The poor creature, she decided to help without provocation just because it was right. A she was stuck out here because… Wait didn’t the man say it was because she was a spirit in the shape of a woman. But this Revenant was magical she could feel the power. She was a spirit in the shape of a woman, but what if she became a woman with a spirit inside? She concentrated and drew forth the power around her. It should have been difficult but with the power of the box. She stepped over the threshold. The flames washed over Revenant rolling off her undead flesh leaving her unsorched and unharmed. The same couldn’t be said for the fabric of the summer dress which boiled away into nothing. Only a few scraps of material fluttered to the ground. Only her sensible, but silky underwear remained strangely unaffected by the infernal fire. Revenant stood there defiantly seemingly unaffected by her sudden near nakedness. Her voice was quiet almost a whisper. “That was a mistake. I’m afraid I’m really going to have and stop you now.†“I think not dear. And look here’s your newly minted friend. Luckily I bought a friend of my own.†From the corner of the poor a pair of baleful red eye flickered into life.
