  1. Peri's Fort Save: 1d20+13=24, phew just scrapped a pass! As we're playing dirty going to act like it's succeeded and do a Fascinate (Bluff), then spend one of the many HP to back it up on an attack! First the Fascinate Bluff: 1d20+10=13, so apparently Peri is a terrible actress under pressure! Still, for the attack we have Attack Roll: 1d20+14=20, DC 25 Toughness on the off chance. Not her best but you never know!
  2. Emerald Spider Time seemed to slow down as Peri twisted and turned through the rain of ice shards, her natural instincts enhanced by the quantum-affecting suit picking out each and every path the molecules would take and her path through them all! Sometimes she had to remind herself just how weird it was that she could process such things without much real thought. Her real thoughts brought her to twist and make the finger moments to fire off another stream of SPDR Blasts, hoping to catch him off guard by attacking when he should probably expect her to still be dodging the ice shards. A ploy it seems was much more effective than she had expected. She finished the whole thing with a dive and rolled over the ground, coming up to again try and snare her foe in the quantum filaments. "You know I don't think I will!"
  3. In that case, I'll try again to Snare him, Attack Roll: 1d20+14=25, if that hits a DC 19 Reflex Save.
  4. For the Relex Save: 1d20+14=34, 1d20+14=30 Keep on applying the pressure with another attack, Attack Roll: 1d20+14=29 again DC 25 Toughness roll.
  5. Mz Grue She had been pretty proud of the Phaser it had taken a few tries as Baby had misunderstood and made an actual functioning weapon, which probably would have gone down badly at the Ren Fair! This one just glowed appropriately and made the noises. Her Tricorder was a smidge chunkier as to contain Mother Unit inside, who was currently sulking at such indignities. "You could say my costume is out of this world!" she grinned at her own personal in-joke, "I think most of the food is elsewhere, though there might be some on offers where the travelling players are!" her attention was then drawn away to Daniel "Hi, and thank you!" she gave a little curtsy "I'm Daphne and this is Harper! As I recall we met briefly the first day I arrived at school. How's your sister?"
  6. Emerald Spider "I was always more of an outdoor spider, so the hot and cold never bother me!" It was almost like second nature now to bounce and tumble around any area she was fighting, even the burn didn't bother her too much now the adrenaline had really kicked in! After all this it would be a different thing altogether, sometimes she envied those heroes with invulnerable skin! "And you should be kinder to us spider we take all the troublesome bugs!" She emphasised this with two shots of quantum bundles that made a solid hit on her foe.
  7. Let's soften him up with a simple SPDR Blast! Attack Roll: 1d20+14=32, if that hits it's a DC 25 Toughness save.
  8. Emerald Spider Peri had lined up a series of suitable responses to his arguments, she really wanted to end this without bloodshed (especially her own). But apparently, Francis has his own ideas, and she only barely dodged the full force of his fire blast, even with all the quantum fields and cooling she felt her flesh scorch. No crop tops for a couple of days she bemoaned to herself if things went wrong obviously. "It still isn't too late, you have a chance to do the right thing here!" Probably a moment too late she began to move around, trying to provide a less obvious target. And definitely not to ignore her danger sense to try and talk someone down next time! Her first instinct, still, was to try and restrain the man instead of just taking him down. Though she still hadn't got used to her wound and in all this motion her quantum thread failed to anchor him to the ground.
  9. The Immutable Betsy Brooks "Well, I never got the hang of Latin, though I'd guess it's The Profane of the Profane, which is usually used as the opposite of the Holy of Holies. At I guess this church was probably built to seal something away from the world, and it probably worked too until the place stopped being sanctified. Though that's not something that I can detect either way, is it one anyone else can tell?" she pointedly didn't look at Pitch when asking such things, wasn't nice to suggest such things "Either way I vote we go have a poke around, sooner rather than later so it's not past some of our bedtimes!"
  10. Centuria "Thanks! And yes it's Kate!" she happily accepted the funnel cake, her metabolism meant she didn't have to worry about it, but she knew that teenage girls didn't want to be told that "Goat's are really cute, and smart, for a certain value of smart! Though their eyes used to freak me out when I was smaller..." they didn't need to know it was from a villain that her parents fought "Got to admit I'd never even thought about dressing up, I'm crazy jealous of all the time and effort people have gone into their costumes. Yours is amazing by the way, though I must admit I've not watched any of the show! " she gave a little guilty shrug. Her life was sometimes so like a fantasy it didn't occur to her about such things, her mom didn't make a big deal of it, but the Sanctum was full of costumes and relics from Pax Roma. "If you don't mind me asking where are you from Lacie?"
  11. Yikes! Toughness Save: 1d20+10=20, well let's use that nice HP I just earned Toughness Save: 1d20+10=28, by my calculation that a Stunned and Bruised. In that case will spend another HP to cancel the stun. Fort Save is a little easier, for now, Fort Save: 1d20+13=29. Finally, for a counter, let's open with a Snare attack, Attack Roll: 1d20+14=17, if it hits he needs a DC 19 Reflex save.
  12. She's giving him every chance, so I'll wait until he makes the first move.
  13. So here's my Diplomacy: 1d20+10=23, which I'm sure means I won't need this Initiative: 1d20+15=16 (obviously Peri agrees)
  14. Emerald Spider Obviously, poor Francis was unhinged, not unusual in her field of business, so it was time to consider a more compassionate track first. "You know I'm inclined to agree with you, you were probably screwed over by Kessel Corp. And if you did a cool heist and stole the disk drive, or hacked into the data and stole back your data I'd be supporting you one thousand percent!" enough buttering him up time to lay out the truth "But this elaborate scheme has put people at risk, innocent people who didn't do any of this to you!" a pause to let this sink in "Stop this and we can make sure no one gets hurt, do this and I will try and help you get help, that people learn just what was done to you here!" It might be a long shot, but she had to try and offer a peaceful solution to all this.
  15. Emerald Spider "Trust me this isn't all just for show!" Peri gave the guy a bit of a side eye as she gestured to her costume "But thank you for all your help, now get out here!" she waved them all out and watched until she was sure that all of the people were safely out of the building. Then she stepped into the corridor, lined herself up and ran towards the elevator shaft (after making sure the doors were stuck open). Making a perfect dive she tumbled down rolling into a ball to go through the glass panel. She then free-falled down for around nine stories or so before making the complex series of finger motions to slow her fall with quantum foam, landing gracefully on her feet. She stood and clicked her neck before walking out to find this server room, musing how all this would have looked cool in a movie or comic book. But then again who'd read a comic about a spider-themed hero? "Well let's do this!"
  16. Mz Grue Daphne loved all forms of entertainment, including live-action - though she rarely got to go often, so this was her chance to get her fill of everything this fair had to offer! She was bouncing along happily "dressed" in a yellow mini-skirted uniform of that old popular science fiction franchise, she'd always wanted to do the whole "visiting an ancient world" schtick ever since she'd read about it online. Whilst green skin or pointed ears would have been super simple, she'd settled for a simple human with a quite impressive, she'd thought, beehive updo! But what to do? She was happily trying to take everything in before deciding what to start with first!
  17. Centuria Kate as a (mostly) city girl has the usual fascination with animals, she'd like to imagine in another world she would have grown up on a Midwestern farm! The Sanctum had a menagerie, and looking after the alien animals was neat, but it wasn't quite the same as getting to interact with loads of animals that didn't want to destroy the sun down to just drink your bones! On the coach she'd already put on her disguise, her hair made black by nanites and a pair of stylish but practical glasses. She hadn't even thought about dressing up instead going for a hoodie and jeans with sensible boots for wandering around the whole Fair. As she looked at all the animals she wondered if she'd see any of her fellow students in this part of the Ren Fair. Was it cool or not to like animals this year?
  18. Emerald Spider Architecture wasn't her strongest subject but she understood enough to be able to figure out all the implications of what could have if Francis succeeded. "As a nice bonus, there's a good chance that the damage will destroy the building as well!" she mused "Luckily the room should be designed to be cooled, should buy me a little time to get everything into effect." "Guess it's time I went I had a work with Mr Francis! But first, you can tell me the quickest way to the server room, then you can get out of the building just in case!"
  19. Emerald Spider Peri dropped gracefully to the floor doing a little flip to be the right way up. "Well I'm glad someone has heard of me in such ivory towers!" she strolled confidently over to the group and looked at the screens As she checked over the code flashing on the screen at last it seems having all the information about what was going on here. "I think I can open the blast door long enough for you all to get out of here, then we'll see about sorting out your Francis!" The first responsibility was getting people to safety first, everyone here might not think it but people were much more important than money or power.
  20. Centuria Here mom had taught her that sometimes it was best to stick with the basics. So taking a quick measure of distance she jumped up flying through the air to land in front of one there foes in a single bound. Despite a lingering worry of leaping too far, and wondering if she'd find that this sky had a ceiling or if she'd crash through several classrooms, she managed a near-perfect leap and landing. Not wanting to waste her, literal, momentum she gave the villain a healthy sock to the jaw with as much force as she could manage. Which seemed to be enough as the foe went down. "Did you not hear the bigger you are the harder you fall!"
  21. Do a "small" leap to one of the tougher aliens and do a simple punch! Attack Roll: 1d20+8=27, if that hits DC 21 Toughness.
  22. Let's start with helping with the computers Computers: 1d20+15=18
  23. The Immutable Betsy Brooks "At their age I was sneaking out of school for a couple of pints, a few ciggies and a boop down the local club! A few times with their current Headmistress as I recall!" she looked at the two teen heroes "And Claremont's a good place, I'm sure they're more than capable! And obviously don't follow our example kids, stay in school and don't cause trouble!" she gave them a little wink "And trust me I can look after myself if trouble breaks out..." She gave a very toothy smile showing her sharp incisors, before turning her attention back to the officers on-site "Sorry about all that, we needed to get introductions out of the way! Could you answer tell us how many were involved, as asked by my young colleagues, along with just what transpired before this horde of potential hell started showing up?"
  24. Emerald Spider Peri's readouts told her that temperatures in the vent were getting warmer, to the point that she was glad she'd decided to wear her full costume. You got used to some heat living in Emerald City, but this was just the wrong kind of heat to keep going. Luckily there was a handy exit that would let her leave the vents, the bad news was that it was full of nervous people some of them with guns! But as she listened in it was obvious that they knew the bits of the puzzle that she was missing, and if she didn't help this whole blackmail stunt could cause them real harm. It would have been pretty easy to make a quick quip and drop in, but with all their nerves on edge someone might get hurt. So with a distinct lack of any stealth she opened the vert and lowered herself on a quantum filament, hand held up to show she wasn't the enemy here! "Hi there maybe I can help?"
  25. Well, now I'm very glad she switched into costume! Fort Save: 1d20+13=16 and Fort Save: 1d20+13=18
