Zhenshchina-voin With the arrival of her teammates and friend Klara strolled over and swept the two up in a massive hug, even if they’ve only seen each other a few hours ago. “I see you’ve both managed to be overdressed as normal.” Klara grinned as she put them both down She herself had managed to source an oversized tee, though it wasn’t really oversized on her, rather than the rather more formal battle armour. “I think we should have a pool back at Vanguard base, better than bathing in the Thames at least! And we should let Bluebird and VERA meetup, I’m sure AI’s love gossip as much as everyone else.”

Miss Grue From the top of the cube was a little hologram, a tiny rather prim and proper looking (human) woman dressed how you’d imagine Mary Poppins would now a days. The little hologram spoke with the same British Received Pronunciation accent, though she also choose to also continue speaking telepathically No one ever questions a humanoids self-awareness! She sounded a little hurt as she spoke And I’ve been designed to be able to interface with almost all operating systems, included your squishy ones. Daphne smiled at the conversations following along the best she could. “If your the X-Files then I’m not sure what that makes me! But as it happens my UFO is parked outside when we’re ready.” she grinned “And its not Roswell I’m afraid, there was a more successful landing at Aztec about a year later, the government managed to pass it off as a hoax at the time...”

Lucy Harker Lucy sighed these two, or at least one of them wasn’t going to make this easy. “First I don’t work here…” she counted out on her bone white fingers “… I’m a lawyer and hero that just happens to have a love a jazz who’s been coming here since before the place had a name! Secondly if you knew the West End in any detail you know I make sure that any harmful vampires, or anyone really, are deal with however needed.” “Though I always give everyone a chance to prove me wrong, something you might want to consider. Every generation think they invented it, but even in my day people like to explore there sexuality, flappers were a little more than cheap booze and dancing. Difference is once they left those door they had to pretend to be normal.” she made the little hand movements at the term “Shame really Mary and Louise made a lovely couple.” She smiled a little wistfully at the memory, even if it was a little tinged with sadness. “Still I’m a hero so I guess I’ll go and help my friend.” slipping off the counter she made her way over to the other bathroom knocking on the door “If your up to something you better get decent, I’m coming in!”

Obviously Emerald Spider is available as you need her.

Zhenshchina-voin Klara was regretting not packing her swimsuit before starting this mission, not that it was something she’d thought of in the first place, and it was unlikely that anywhere would stock anything in her size even in a city like Freedom City. And whilst they’d come a long way in the time since she left home there was still a taboo against swimming naked, especially with teenagers around. “Oh what fools these mortals be!” she mused to herself, a quote from a favourite playwright of Tracy She frowned wishing that her wife was here, but she couldn’t really drag Tracy out of bed so early in the morning for what boiled down to a superhero pool party.

Miss Grue “It good to see you again as well, with the misunderstanding fight as well this time.” she grinned “And I just happen to have a Grue AI on me, though she's more family to me. Please doing rummage around her operating systems to much it’s been to much.” With a smile Daphne bring out a small cube mat black cube around the size of a rubric cube, which she placed on the desk in front of Ben I am Mother Unit! And the Grue have found ways to efficiently interact between the organic and inorganic, though I like to think the distinction doesn’t matter. After a pause Daphne carried on explaining her findings. “When the Grue came here in the ‘40s they set up a series of drops with materials and resources for later invasions. I use some of the funds they set up to help others out myself. So I think I’ve found a vault they set up somewhere in New Mexico.”

Lucy Harker Lucy couldn’t help but smile at the sudden turn of events, she found it somehow refreshing how some people reacted to her nature. Finishing checking her “makeup” she hoisted herself onto the counter and looked at the two women. “Back in my day I’d be beckoned to the bathroom to exchange gossip or an opening for potential romantic engagement. And I may add you make a lovely couple by the way, though I’m not looking for a partner right now.” She sighed, though she wasn’t really upset just a little disappointed. “But I’m not a vampire, it’s complicated but I’m more a zombie…” she smiled showing her normal teeth “I’m Lucy Harker? The Revenant? Do people forget things that fast these days?”

Beginners Guide to the Cities of M&M
Tiffany Korta replied to Tiffany Korta's topic in The Lighthouse: Catchphrase!
This is a very much work in progress, please feel free to offer suggestions for improvement. -
Whilst character can up anywhere in the world to help players and Gamemasters we have a number of Hub cities where characters gather. These are generally the places where adventures will happen and we encourage player to at least start in one of theses cities, though some are more encouraged than others. Freedom City, New Jersey Since the arrival of Centurion in a single bound, Freedom City has been the home of supers both good and bad. Home of the Freedom League and the Atoms among others. Whilst the other cities has a singular focus Freedom City has a healthy mix, from the Gothic Horror of the West End, through the High Tech shenanigans of Downtown, to the more Street level antics of Southside and Lincoln. The closest comic equivalent is Astro City a glorious mix inspirations of Marvel and DC characters and location. Being the default setting of 2nd edition M&M its the backbone of the site with the most development and change over time, and we recommend the Freedom City book for 2nd though the 3rd is fine though the book goes in a different direction that our site on several things. This is the default setting and we recommend it, along with Claremont Academy (see below) as a starting location for new players. The only limit on PL is that imposed on the site as a whole of PL 15, though many players choose to cap there characters at PL 12. Claremont Academy, Freedom City Claremont Academy looks like a high status teaching academy on Freedom City, but it is actually a school teaching teenagers how to handle there super powers, as well as the more challenging task of growing up into adults. As well as occasional adventures or danger room practising the teen heroes will often gather to interact, making friend and rivals and even falling in love… This the place for classic teen heroes be it New Mutants (or whenever X-men remember to be a school for young mutants), Teen Titans and Young Justice. Again we use the 2nd edition version in the FC book and Hero High, though little has changed between this and 3rd edition. Though we have made a few changes of staff, including Calliope Summers taking over as headmistress from her father. An easy way for character to interact with each other we strongly recommend the Academy for new players. New character must be sixteen and cannot start with a PL higher than 8, and until they graduate they cannot go above PL 10. Emerald Cities, Washington and Oregon A sparking high tech city on the Pacific Emerald City is a beacon for tech companies drawn by the example of Mars Tech. Until as recently as 2016 the city has seen few super heroes and even fewer villains until the arrival of the cities own Emerald Spider open the flood gates to other heroes, and now many wonder why it didn’t have any heroes before… A futuristic high tech city in the mould of Metropolis or Marvels New York of Stark or the Richards, with a touch of the setup of The Runaways (both comic and TV show). Like all the cities here magic coexists with the technological and the forests of the Pacific North west contain more cryptids than just the famous Big Foots. The city is based on the Emerald City guide but again a few changes have been made, including the Silver Storm happening much later and having less of an impact on the city. Not as active as the other two cities it’s probably best to establish a character before starting one in Emerald City. Character are again only limited by the PL cap of the site. Bedlam City, Wisconsin A forgotten cesspool of a city where daily life is a struggle to those that choose to stay in Bedlam. Violence is common to the poor and downtrodden, the Rich living safe in there own gated areas, and few seem to care about them or the city. Some say that the city may even be cursed in some way, though few are curious enough to find out if this is a thing. A dark Gothic urban wasteland, in the mold of the worse parts of Gotham or Bludhaven, with a very strong mix of Cyberpunk and White Wolf's World of Darkness. Bedlam is based on a series of RPG book by Plain-Brown-Wrapper-Games, though again we’ve added a few changes of our own over time. The dark tone and pushing the general PG-13 rating of the site we don’t recommend Bedlam as a starting location for new player characters. Characters are cap at PL 10, this is not a place for high powered heroes. Vibora City, Florida Sitting at the top of the Florida, Vibora mixes the modern southern hospitality with an old world Gothic styling, magic swirls around the city along with more mundane secrets and challenges. The city in general is a friendly open city and with this they have adopted a different approach to superheroes, with all of them offered the chance to Municipal Defenders of the city. Dripping in Southern Gothic Vibora is similar to occult mysteries of Swamp Thing or Sandman, with a splash of Vampire Lestat and the Voodoo Loa. Vibora Bay is a transplant from the Champions setting of the same name by Hero Game, with the timeline of the book moved forward fifteen years to the current day. Still new and whilst a good for any players it may be better for new players to establish themselves somewhere else before traveling here. Whilst characters tend towards the occult there are no restrictions on PL’s beyond those normally established by the site. Space, The Milky Way Beyond Earth atmosphere humanity is watched by sometimes exasperated multiple alien species, wether it’s the human like Lor (though they insist humans are like them) with there shiny Utopic Federation, the duplicitous machinations of the shapeshifting Grue Union, or the cunning violence of the anarchic but still dangerous Khanate. Many heroic rogues travel the space-lanes reluctantly protecting innocents alongside the Praetorians protections and guardians of a long lost empire. After a failed invasion by a (more) alien menace a wormhole at the edge of the Solar System allows Terran heroes access to the wider universe via CoVic station, home to the Praetorians. A healthy mix of the clashing empire of the Kree, Shi'ar and Skrulls, home of the ragtag Guardians of the Galaxy of both comics and movies, with a healthy dose of the Federation of DC’s Legionaries. Mixed into all this is influences from most well know Sci-fi properties most obviously Star Trek, Mass Effect and Star Wars. We draw mostly from what has been defined in the 2nd edition Freedom City, with very like from the 3rd edition Cosmic Handbook, though space is still reeling from an invasion a few years ago by the Borg like Communion. Among the damage done was the destruction of Lor-Van, the Lor’s homeworld, and the fragmentation of the Khanate into several competing territories. Mostly home to the Praetorians, with a light smattering of dashing rogues, it can difficult to find others to enjoy the swashbuckling adventures of space. That said those that venture out aren’t restricted by PL beyond those of the site.

White Lioness “I cannot reveal all of our method obviously, but they may have found a way to circumvent our measures. Whilst the wildlife is the main concerns figuring out how they are doing so is most definitely a second.” She looked at a map of the area and figured out the best option to start, appreciate the irony that she was leading people probably twice her age as if she was the most experienced. “Not a terrible way to start our investigation, we made need to discuss what happens with the data though. National security and all I’m afraid.”

VALKYRJA For a few minutes they swooped through the sky, and whilst they could make ou other flying heroes they had a part of the sky to themselves. With experience gained long ago Sanngriðr guided Frárvængr through the subtlest of movements. When Valkyrie spoke she didn’t have to raise her voice at all above it norm, though that was normally quite loud in itself. “AYE BACK TO CANADA, BUT LET US HAVE SOME FUN AS WELL.” she gently wrapped a strong arm around Astrid to help hold her in place “IF YOU WISH YOU MAY RAISE YOUR ARMS AND GO WHOO!” Then with a sudden movement Frárvængr swept back her wings and they began to dive towards one of the main roads of Downtown, and only at the very last minute just above the traffic did she unfurled her wings again. Astrid could swear she heard the sound of a hoof striking the bus below, and even the normally jaded locals watched this magnificent display. Then after a few minutes of level flight there was a rainbow flash of light as they left the city behind.

Lucy Harker Watching this woman Lucy couldn’t help but feel that something was… off. She couldn’t place why but her senses we’re picking up that something was odd, she wasn’t undead but something else. Still she wasn’t worried as she could generally look after herself even in a city like Freedom. And even in her day women would gather in the ladies, though it wasn’t as fancy back then, to share gossip or even warning about there partner of choice. As nonchalantly as she could she looked into the rooms mirror to quickly check her hair, her black eyes reflecting back her image into infinity. “So are you girls having a good night?”

Lucy Harker “I’ve hunger just in a different way, and those can be just a draining. And general eunni what seems to befall immortals after a while.” Something seemed to be going on and Lucy couldn’t help but pick up that it was something that she might want to look into before trouble started. “I’ll be right back I promise, I’m really enjoying out conversations.” She them followed the various girls towards the Ladies, looking fairly casual but on the lookout if any trouble was about to start.

White Lioness Àjàṣorò smiled at the gentle banter of the group, obviously some of them knew each other. She’d generally got on well with most of her squad, on was her brother after all, but it wasn’t clicking quite as well. “Maybe we should start with a little light sparring, rather than jumping straight to the underwater combat practice.” She put down her bag near the door and walked more towards the centre shaking her limbs to loosen up ready for a fight. “Shall we pair up and do a little hand to hand? Or would you rather use weapons I’m pretty open on this one to be honest.”
-
Emerald Spider This was all improvising on Peri’s part, as was it most of the time. They might be able to win this out if they could keep this running as long as possible. “I’ll try to keep this contained and you keep doing what your doing. And if those are X-ray I need to get myself a pair, we’ll need to swap notes once this finish.” As she spoke she picked up another contained to place against the other where the villain looked to be most likely to break a hole through.

The Immutable Betsy Brooks “F*** yeah I’m coming along, first it’s vampires we’re investigating and second it’s a chance to piss off the rich toffs that remind we of home.” She looked at the Medical Examiner and walked over to point at tha staked corpse before adding helpfully. “So if I’ve calculated this right then the stasis should drop and the corpse turn to dust, it well probably be sudden and violent so be careful. Put the remains in a nice urn and send it to may office, I’ll make sure she has somewhere nice to rest.” she handed her a business card before turning to the other heroes. “Okay then lets rock!”

VALKYRJA Accepting the hand Sanngriðr vaulted onto the back of her horse behind Astrid, enthusiastic to get going though she was enthused about everything she did. “HOLD ON TIGHT FOR THE STEEDS OF THE VALKYRIE WILL TAKE NO HARNESS, THOUGH NEITHER OF US WILL LET YOU FALL!” She gently encouraged Frárvængr to move forward who trotted forward a short distance before entering a rainbow of pure light. Then for a few seconds they were floating high above Freedom City before Frárvængr started to fall as her massive wings unfolded.
-
The Traveller “We can scout out the area when night falls, drink up and we’ll go back to the place I’ve got here.” She drowned her drink and waited the others to finished before leading them through a series of dome like dwellings to the one she’d rented for the stay. Floating outside was a grav-speeder that she’d won in a card game and fixed it up so it ran better than it probably did new. Inside her place was quite roomy with most of the rain room being covered in pillows and rugs allowing many to sleep comfortably. Apart from a tucked away sonic shower and head there was a food synthesiser and a large work screen covered in what looked to be hand drawn architectural plans of the walls. To it had been added notes in a generally unrecognizable text (Sanskrit text) and a rough troop positions had been added over time. It looked like the hologram had been built from these diagrams was impressive in itself. “Get some rest, the synthesiser is half decent, we go out in a couple of hours to scout the are.”

Miss Grue With a smile and a little nod to Ben Daphne sat down and carefully and deliberately started to open the milk carton. She didn’t need to eat or drink, a gift of her childhood bathing in cosmic waves, but she like to experiment with trying different foods. Especially junk food she wondered sometimes if sugars had an extra effect on her kind. She’d have to ask her uncles at some point about that. “I’ve been using the Leagues resources to try to trace some of the cache’s created for nefarious ways by me people, I think I have a lead. So I was wondering are you up for like a field trip? A little bit of a search for our cultural heritage, and partly that Grue tend to work in groups so I need an extra pair of hands.”

As things are getting a little hectic I want make clear who's talking to who right now.

White Lioness Àjàṣorò had walked in silence not really wanting to cause any more problems, she’d said her piece and accepted her punishment, but the others seemed to want to continue the discussion. She’d felt no malice towards the others and exchanging ideas wouldn’t hurt, even if she didn’t expect anyone to come around to her way of thinking. “I am aware of the difference between the concepts of anarchic ideals of government and a breakdown of orders into chaos. But in my experience the former rarely survives longs and falls into the later. And a chaotic act won’t cause a government to just suddenly spring into creations.” “And to be part of a system means you accept the punishments along with it rewards, unless the system deserves overthrowing. I know because that's how I spend my weekends! Maybe some of you should tag along and see what real anarchy looks like.”

Emerald Spider Emerald Spider lowered herself upside down a short distance from the villain, with a tough of modesty in her voice she said “Yeah that was probably all my fault, but Emerald City has heroes now! Feel free to tell you friend, enemies and everything in between!” she looked around at the other heroes, nodding at them all in a friendly manner before adding “Hi all I’m Emerald Spider, a pleasure to have met and fought alongside you all. Do we have any idea what they were doing? Beyond the obvious nefarious deeds.”

Emerald Spider Well that worked better than she expected, and any more time they could help the others get away the better. Improving again she quickly worked out a new set of finger movements spreading a spray of quantum filament to reinforce the container and make it harder for them to escape, a macro level quantum foam if you will. “This isn’t going to keep them in for longer, any good idea of how to take them down?” The only thing she could think off involved the container being air tight, and she wasn’t that confident in her webs for that idea.
