  3. Ms Grue Power Level: 12/15 (250/250PP) Unspent Power Points: 0 Trade-Offs: None In Brief: A free Grue who is enjoying everything that Earth has to offer, whilst trying to help humanity. Catchphrase: “Oh wow!” Theme: Save the World - Daphne & Celesete Alternate Identity: Daphe Celeste (Secret) Birthplace: Deep Space,16 ly from Earth Residence: DuTemps Building, Downtown, Freedom City Base of Operations: DuTemps Castle Occupation: Television Production Assistant Affiliations: CrimeBusters, DuTemps Sirens, Freedom League Auxiliary Family: Meta-Mind (Gene father, very distant), Mother Unit Description: Age: 21 (DoB: 1999) Apparent Age: early-20’s Gender: Female Presenting Ethnicity: Grue Height: 5’8” (1.73m) as Daphne Weight: 130lbs (60kg) as Daphne Eyes: Naturally White, Brown as Daphne Hair: Black In her natural form, Daphne looks fairly typical of her species with her red skin, brow ridges and pointed ears and a mouth, as opposed to Drones that do without. On a second glance however her appearance is subtly different, with her brow greatly reduced and her mouth having natural lips. But the most obvious change is her long flowing hair, from a species that naturally has no hair. Through exposure to cosmic rays her metamorphic fields have been altered meaning that this is her natural form, though as a shapeshifter she can choose to adopt the more standard forms of her species. And even though her species has no concept of gender, Grue being either cloned or produced by binary fission, Daphne chooses to express herself as female. As Daphne her human identity has subtly shifted and changed as she’s has grown more use to humanity and become more comfortable in her own skin. Originally based heavily on a television celebrity she watched during her journey towards Earth her featured have been subtly blended and merged with those of her natural Grue features to produce an identity more in line with her own personality. When necessary she has subtly influenced old memories so those that already knew her remember her always looking this was, rather than be confused at her different current form. As Ms Grue her costume is the silvery-white jumpsuit that was provided by the Grue for her to wear, being a morphic fabric that can adjust size, shape, colors and textures as needed to whatever she need it to with but a thought. On the chest is the three-pronged star that is the symbol of the Grue Union, Daphne thinking that she’s reclaiming the symbol and using it as a force of good. And whilst she’s a little less fashion conscious than when she was younger, she still dresses stylishly her costume abilities allowing her to appear perfectly tailored for whatever frame she is wearing. History: At the turn of the twenty-first century envious eye turned towards a certain area of the Orion-Cygnus arm, a Grue infiltrator ship was dispatch but never arrived at its destination. Instead it came into conflict with a Lor Cruiser and after the Grue attacked, according to Lor Naval records, the Grue vessel was destroyed apparently with all hands. In the battle however one of the infiltration/birthing units, Baby, was ejected from the craft with it precious cargo. Damaged from the combat the pod activated it Grue podling occupant, with the onboard portable AI, later calling itself Mother Unit, began to scan for a signal to signify a location for there infiltration mission. However the signals were scrambled and the AI mistook the signals from Earth as the locking signal. So this little party began the sixteen light year journey towards the Sol System under sublight powers. The data from these signals was used to help rebuild the damages databanks, whilst the pod slowly repaired its battle damaged systems. Though with damaged radiation shields it podling occupant was bathed in cosmic rays, along with those Earth signals that Mother Unit was using to construct a personality to determine how best to raise this young podling. Little Daphne grew up in this environment of the ship limping towards Earth at light-speed, learning about this world from the carefully picked entertainment. Apart from instinctively knowing Grue the isolated podling had no connect to the telepathic influence of the Meta-Mind, instead she learned to read and write the languages English of the shows. With the aid of the only parent she knew Daphne formed her own identity and gained a sense of right and wrong from the heroes she saw on these human shows. With the cosmic rays causing alteration to her cells Daphne developed differently than the Drone she was originally designed to be, instead she took on more human features (much like a Grue Metamorph). Her altered cells also allowed her to phase through matter, something of a shock when she accidentally phased through the ships hull. Alongside this new ability she practiced her shapeshifting and telepathic abilities, as well as learning as much as she could about Earth culture from its broadcasts. From this information she choose a name for herself, Daphne Celeste, feeling that she was ready to experience her new home. During her time on Earth Daphne has done a lot to embrace her new home planet, making many friends with the heroes of Freedom City. Whilst she never went to Claremont she did help out there for a little while, and occasionally helps mentor students when needed. She has also ended up living among the women living in the DuTemps castle, being a gregarious person who enjoys the company of those around her. From her superhero activities adopting the title of Miss, now Ms, Grue making efforts to be accepted by the common folk of her adopted home. This effort finally lead to her being offered a position of Freedom League Auxiliary. With the destruction of the previous Meta-Grue during the attack by the Communion, led to many free Grue Daphne feels no strong connection to them and hasn’t spent any time with them, being happier to spend time among humans. Not that she harbors any dislike of her people in general, she just has a greater affinity for humanity after living among them for so long. Personality & Motivation: Whilst time and experience has tempered her enthusiasm, its not been by a lot still enjoying Earth and everything it has to offer. Still amazed at things, but not as wide-eye as she was, and her optimism at everything working out has suited her well through the darkest of times. As a telepath she know the best and worst of what humanity can and does think, though she knows not to pry into people thoughts unless its an emergency. But despite this she still gives people a chance to prove there better nature, trusting I the inherit goodness she believes are in (most) people. Though never to the point that she would endanger another, she is still a hero after all. Whilst she can, and has experience the full range of emotions the one that she has never felt the need to seek out is physical love. Partly this is from her alien nature, a clone species has no need for sex after all, but neither has it a need for love and family which she has experienced many times. It’s mostly however that she feels no need for sexual encounters, instead she happy to experience romantic love in all it’s shapes and forms. 4. Miss Grue With a thought from Daphne the hull of Baby formed a hatch, close enough that the other two could enter the craft. She began to float over to the craft “My people are much more Machiavellian but they1m, have much the same kill or be killed attitude. It’s a shame our people are so much the same.” A good host she gestured for her friends to go into the ship that had been her home for almost two decades. “I’ve been tinkering with her if we want we can alter her shape to something expected, or go full stealth depending on how you'd think we’d been greeted on arrival.”
  5. Miss Grue “I’m with Indira here, you are a credit to you spawn mates and we should help free the prisoners. And I’m obviously happy to help.” Daphne has much less success with her own kind being more or less evil to a fault. “Do you have a plan as to how you want to us to proceed, I will admit I’ve had very few encounters with your kind.” As she spoke the large egg shaped craft of Miss Grue floated though the sky, it silver skin somehow not reflecting the sunlight. It was more use to the harshness of space, but like most Grue created things it was very adaptable.
  6. Emerald Spider Continuing her swing Peri released more quantum filaments looping around and swung back down towards the fight. At the top of the swing she spent a few moments in free fall she made a the hand signals to fire off a few rounds of harder blunter quantum bolts. As impressive at it all must look, which to be fair was just a happy side effect to keep moving, but all the movement made it difficult to calculate distance and trajectories – even for someone as smart as Peri – and the bolts went slightly wide. “Hey dino-boy the Cretaceous called and they’d like there gimmick back!”
  7. Miss Grue “She’s telling the truth.” said Daphne’s, hovering just a few meters from Aquaria “Hello Aquaria, sorry about that but your broadcasting you thoughts quite loud!” she gave a guilty little smile and a shrug “Would you like me to give you a lift up to the building, you can tell us what you know whilst we wait for Baby. After all if you want out help we’ll need some kind of transport!” Daphne gave a little smile to her friend, she was most definitely going to help whatever the full story was.
  8. Emerald Spider will try to snare whoever is left Snare: 1d20+10 13, yeah she's not having a good day!
  9. VALKYRIA Valkyria wasn’t an expert on this electronic world, but luckily Bobbi has knew about such things she’d even see that god awful movie with all those pop culture references from before she was born. She scanned the skyline spotting the strange creature in the distance, so it was either this worlds Cheshire Cat or Boss Battle for the next level. Either way it was an option to continue, and Valkyria wasn’t one to ever doubt the way ahead. Or could just be a statue, you could never tell as a dweller in either Asgard or a digital realm. She confidently strolled towards the creature, or statue, her sword once again sheathed so she would not appear a threat to the beast. “HAIL FELLOW TRAVELLER, WILL YOU BE HOB TODAY?”
  10. Ms Bright Agnes poker face was impeccable, and despite the desire to give the game away with a grin her face stayed po faced. Even when the lasso was off the mark Ms Bright managed to make it look like she was captured, though making sure it was loose enough for when she needed to escape the bounds. Also the fact that obviously she still had her full powers. “Well you got me just where you wanted, so what now?” she kept the grim tone of someone that wasn’t happy with this defeat. It wasn’t easy, but she hope it would be worth it in the end.
  11. Emerald Spider Peri concentrated and listened to what what was going on in the warehouse, her quantum sense wasn’t warning her of any dangers but she’d learned to trust her other senses. And her trust was repaid when her hearing picked up the sound from one of the other containers. “Wait hold up, I think I hear something from that one over there.” She bounced up and over the other containers to land, as gently as she could, onto the top of the container that she’d though she’d heard the sounds coming from.
  12. Going along with it to keep up the scam, if I can I'll make it so I know I can escape easily if needed.
  13. Yeah I figured as much, the orokos happened! Bluff: 1d20+5 13, let's burn a HP for a reroll Bluff: 1d20+5 23
  14. Emerald Spider's Notice: 1d20+15 31
  15. The Traveller Sitara wasn’t bothered by the thugs, she’d been shaken down by more professional criminals in the past. And a good bar brawl was always fun, but it would be unfair not to give them at least a chance to give up on this foolish plan. With a smile at the barkeep she picked up the small glass and downed the alcohol in one, before indicated for a refill. “Now boys do you really want to do this? Because it was a long journey and I really don’t want to waste the energy to beat you in a few minutes.”
  16. Ms Bright Whilst Agnes wasn’t necessarily the sharpest tool in the draw she wasn’t stupid and she knew people pretty well. “If he’d that amazing maybe he could he could reach a poor soul like me, but of course you couldn’t trust me to go here like this. So let me tell you a little secret...” She leant in as if telling a terrible secret, a massive bluff at this point. “My power are based on freedom, if you bound me them I’m completely helpless, and then I couldn’t harm him either way.”
  17. GM Post The barkeeper smiled and was about to help out the stranger when disaster struck, two of the local hoodlums decided they were going to cause trouble. Wrap up similarly to the stranger no on actually knew what species they werebut they’d definitely been in some military or gang, having enough skill with a blaster that few would challenge them in the town. The took a place either side of the stranger towering over them by a good half meter. “Welcome to Fennic, lets talk about your citizen tax!” said the smartest of the two, and not by much...
  18. The Traveller With a smile Sitara tossed a couple of credits on the bar, she’d carefully gathered some issued by the smaller less established (but still tenable) interstellar powers. Lor credits would suggest either someone of means, a dupe or possibly both, besides it paid not to give away to much about where she’d travelled from. “Give me some spirit that's strong and decent, if I had the good money I wouldn’t be here!” as she spoke she pulled back her hood to show a Lor, in fact a human face with her hair recently cut relatively short “Do I have to have the drink first of beat the local thugs before we begin the delicate process of gathering the local gossip?”
  19. GM Post The Cantina’s owner, a Dotrae of indeterminate gender, looked up and the wrapped up newcomer. Like most trying to figure out if they had the smell of credits around them, though unlike most it was to try and figure out if the newcomer would start or cause trouble. Any fancy clothes they owned was covered by suitable wraps for the wind swept conditions, and all that stood out was a rather fancy staff that looked like it could be a weapon in the right hands. “What you’d have stranger? The first is on the house if you want the cheap stuff.” he Galstandard have a Khanic lilt.
  20. The Immutable Betsy Brooks “That’s still unusual they souls normally ready to move on or bloody furious to be dead, unless I guess it the could be the pure soul without the personality. A gros bon ange if you will.” As to the other question Betsy thought about it for a minute before adding. “Hmmm, maybe the sexy guy, he seems to be keyed into similar ideas, but not the crazy survival guy that would just be messy. The peppy plant girl seems solid but I’m not sure that this is the kind of thing she’s use to handling. Same goes for the speedster, and the robot is just a robot y’know?”
  21. Ms Bright Agnes took a breath to steady her nerves, her hand bunched into fist as she tried to calm down. Since she’d woken up all those months ago she’d felt anger, but she wasn’t sure why she’d was. It was an almost daily struggle to keep her calm. But at heart she wasn’t a vindictive woman, and despite probably deserving it she stopped at pummelling her into unconsciousness. “No I’m not because whilst I could be vindictive and finish you off I’m not going to, I’m showing you mercy right now and I hope you appreciate it.” She tried to smile reassuringly, probably only half successfully, and picked on something the woman had just said. “Why don’t you tell me who he is exactly?”
  22. Emerald Spider In her day job she’d visited many warehouse, and a few in her superhero job, and after a while they all seemed to look more or less the same. And that didn’t really help in this situation, when they needed to look for evidence. They couldn’t have long before he escaped or was discovered so they couldn’t spend much time searching the place. “Don’t suppose you have some kind of x-ray vision in that thing do you?” As she spoke she quickly scanned around just in case she’d missed anything important.
  23. The Traveller Things had been quiet and as was often the case Sitara had got the wanderlust again. She’d been feeling that desire to look into those parts of her past long lost and forgotten so borrowing a little ship, she would have felt guilty using a Praetorian ship, she set off for the edges of the Republic were there were rumors of ruins of the mArttik Avara, the race that made her who and what she was. So after a few days in jump space she’d landed on the windswept planet and made her way to the place she always went to find information, the local bar.
  24. Fennic Town, Temuera II, Lor Exlcusion Zone 13.0.7.1.0 The planet Temuera sat on the edge of the Lor Republic, a blasted rock that was barely able to support life. It would probably have been of no interest to anyone but the Science core if it wasn’t for the deposits of Tepeyoite a glassy mineral with numerous uses in high tech equipment. Hence places like Fennic Town had popped up around the more generous veins of the mineral. With so many credits changing hands the worst scum of the Republic, and surrounding interstellar nations had congratulated to fleece the miners of the hard worn Tepeyoite. One place was Fennic’s best, or at least cheapest Cantina’s where someone arrived that wasn’t here for such things in the slightest.
  25. Peri's Reflex Save: 1d20+12 19, she has Evasion 2 so no harm.
