  1. The Traveller With a final check, Sitara set the systems on automatic, making sure that they'd be aware of any potential problem coming there way. It was unlikely this far out in space, but someone else might have detected the distress call, ones with less noble intents. Standing up she deployed the body armour that would protect her from any dangers of the ship. A beautiful thing of gleaming white covered in amazing flourishes so it looked like a work of art. Giving the Terran a few more minutes to get used to the suit she stepped around to the airlock. "You ready to go?"
  2. GM Post As the display instructed the fitting of the suit, Sitara had chosen a voice that wasn't Akazavani so it wasn't too embarrassing, between her and the ship they flawlessly docked with the Lor craft. The airlock was almost perfect match for the ancient Delaztri craft, Sitara had pondered if the Lor hadn't picked up certain designs from that fallen empire. One day she'd have to take a look at that, maybe another bout of academics was in order. With clunk that vibrated through the hulls of craft, bit no further in the vacuum of space, normally the two would exchange friendly data about each other if Sitara hadn't told the Kavaca not to exchange such things. She didn't want either the ship or its crew to pick up something nasty.
  3. White Lioness It was strange that something like this could happen, did they not watch there own sci-fi television? The White Lion in her wanted to take command, it was in her lineage after all, but she was now part of a team and that meant following orders. "We should probably stick toge..." As she spoke people sprung into action, it was something natural and expected, but it could be disastrous depending on how the simulator was set up. Instead of retreating to shadows, her natural instinct in this case, she looked over at the more senior student to see what they wanted to do next.
  4. White Lioness "We have a small embassy here in Freedom City, we're still learning to reach out to the rest of the world." She was a little caught out by the plea, she was proud of her home for there achievement but she was still aware that it was far from perfect. Their technology had blunted most of the attacks from the invaders but there was still much that needed to be rebuilt. But nowhere had been hit quite like Freedom City. "I can have a few volunteers down here pretty quickly, but they'll probably rely on mundane methods of transport." few would deny a request from the symbol of their nation "But maybe we could do something to help with the root problems? Is there not anything we can do to get the local inhabitants to get involved?"
  5. White Lioness Àjàṣorò knew that school wouldn't be like the movies she'd seen, but she'd looked forward to the first dance. It was one of those events that she'd wanted to experience to the fullest, it seemed that fate had a different idea, however. Her father it seemed had come to an arrangement with Headmistress Summers, they chatted like old friends when they met, that Àjàṣoro could go a do tasks important to Dakana. All the time shuttling back and forwards, plus the homework she had to do to catch up, had meant she'd had little time to really settle into school life. The only person she'd spent any time with was her roommate, and whilst cordial they'd not quite yet hit things off. Instead of the sparkling dress she had all picked out, she was in a simple t-shirt and skirt combination with a pair of hi-top trainers, having just got back from another mission. She should have just gone back to her room and crashed, but here she was peering into the hall wanting to have a quick look at the sparkling event before calling it a night.
  6. The Scarab III Kamala looked at the hero sitting opposite her trying to work out if there was some kind of angle here. Whilst she was proud of what she'd achieved it had only been a couple of years since she'd started her company, and she didn't have the resources of say ArcheTech. "It's a simple analysis to tell if it's a generated message, it will contain certain easy to spot tell. We can use my AI to tell if the message is from an AI." she explained, finally decided to see how this played out "I'll need a note and we'll need a few minutes to get a thorough analysis. Whilst we wait would you care for a drink? I don't have an alcohol but I can offer a wide range of over beverages."
  7. The Scarab III With a few more minutes before she was noticed, or he became aware of his deafness, Kamala thought about her options to defeat the man. She was confident that her technology was enough to defeat the thug in chief, but it would have drawn the others and potentially increased the chance that someone would come to harm. The other options was to disable the power and make him less of a threat, and that meant disabling whatever influence the Daka crystal imbued. If she knew the resonance to block the signal she should be able to induce a destructive resonance. No one outside would be happy, and she'd have to search elsewhere for a crystal to study, but at least it wouldn't be a threat to anyone anymore.
  8. Liam's Notice: 1d20+15 21, and Rosa's Medicine: 1d20+10 23.
  9. Liam Conner It might not be much but they had an old battered car that ran well enough whilst being so dilapidated that no one wanted to steal it, even touching it seemed a waste of gasoline. For those that had no preternatural powers he offered a lift to the apartments, though it might look that it would be safer walking the car actually ran pretty smoothly. The bodywork might look battered and worm Liam made sure that it ran as if new. Entering the block Liam paid attention to everything with a fine eye that you gained for several years as a detective, a second pair of eyes often helped with details that the other had missed. Rosa Thorne On seeing the unconscious mom Rosa straight away to go a check on the woman, she might come across as rude and abrupt but she really cared about helping people. She'd never bothered to get a medical degree but had studied enough that she could have if she wanted before you went to the supernatural it helped to discount the more mundane solutions. "Do you know what she's taken?" as she checked for any reactions from the woman.
  10. Liam Conner Being a detective was never a well-paying job, especially when you specialised as they did, and morals meant you were pickier than some. No one would say anything if they'd took the money, in a city like Bedlam is was really almost expected. The two of them, however, had some morals that meant they could take the whole bundle however much it would really help with the bills. Taking the roll of notes he counted out a reasonable amount, there standard daily rate, making sure that she could see exactly how much he was taking. "This is the standard daily rate, in advance, that's all we need..." he peeled off another note "... and this is a healthy donation for the damage we caused to the church." he put the note in the donation box before handing the rest of the notes back to the girl "When this is over do something with that which will help you and your brother, I'd suggest tickets out of Bedlam!" He looked at the others, a confident smile on his face after all this was what he did! "Let's go do this!"
  11. GM Post The few gangsters that hadn't manage to flee were suitably cowered by the actions of Gauss, and probably a little more by the action of the still paddling Terror Bird. "We don't know what was going on, just escort some guy from this posh hotel to pick up some stuff." The other pitched in somewhat less helpfully. "We weren't expecting no monstrous dinosaur to turn up, this was just a straightforward exchange." It didn't take much more effort to find the name of the hotel, a disruptable but swanky place not too far from here.
  12. White Lion Whilst far from perfect her homeland had none of the problems that needed a place like this, ideally, each Clan looked, after all, it's people and there were safeguards in place for those that fell through the crack. But as she had to remember that Dakana was much smaller than the country that she was now inhabiting. She paused for a moment in thought, there were many pitfalls in navigating the social dynamics of a place she almost, but not quite understood. "If there was a need I could make a few calls and have supplies here within the hour" she whispered in Nicole's ear "If that isn't some sort of social faux pas, either way, a tour would be most acceptable.”
  13. Zhenschina-voin Maybe it was how she first encounter the world of man but she had a far more cynical view of people, which had allowed her to survive and thrive in the post-war world. "Your thinking far too short-term, remember people like the Doctor have the rest of time to plot revenge. As someone once said revenge is best served cold!" She took a sip of her drink and thought for a few moments before adding. "As for the Duke I find him intensely annoying, but if bringing him into the order would help put him on a better path then maybe it's worth the risk?"
  14. Emerald Spider Power Level: 12/13 (219/224PP) Unspent Power Points: 5 Trade-Offs: +2 Attack / -2 Damage, +2 Defense / -2 Toughness In Brief: Your friendly neighbourhood spider hero. Catchphrase: "It's the duty for those who can to protect the weak." Theme: Catch Me If You Can, Girls Generation Alternate Identity: Peri Pyeng (Secret) Birthplace: Emerald City Residence: Bethlehem Heights, Emerald City Occupation: Air Conditioner Repairs Affiliations: None Family: Mi-yeong Pyeng (mother, deceased), Jin-ho Pyeng (father), Myung-sook Pyeng (Grandmother), Jae Pyeng (Aunt) Description: Age: 33 (DoB: 25th February 1991) Gender: Female Ethnicity: Korean-American Height: 5'5" Weight: 125 lbs Eyes: Brown Hair: Brown Peri has only recently begun to look more into her appearance, though she still gives it as little attention as she can manage. Her hair is usually kept relatively short and tied up to keep it out of the way. With a little more responsibility she's begun to dress appropriately in a pantsuit, though they are fairly cheap and often dirty from her hands-on way of working. When not working she dresses for comfort and utility not really worrying about how fashionable her choices appear to everyone else. The superhero costume she wears is based on the original hoodie she was wearing when she first appeared as Emerald Spider, though a dark green rather than the black of the original. Over the costume is a fine web-like silver pattern, that increases the efficiency of the Spdr Rig. The Spdr Rig itself has been improved over time and is now three distinct unit's the two gloves, now green with the silver thread like the rest of the costume, and a slim silver belt. The gloves have a series of capsules around the wrist, whilst the belt is mostly made up of them, then generated the quantum field and provides power. To hide her identity beneath the hood she wears a green hood and goggles. History: Peri still remembers well what her mother would always tell her before she went away on deployment, Mi-yeong serving in the armed forces, that it was her duty to protect those that couldn't protect themselves. To her shame, a young angry Peri told her mother that she didn't care about those stupid people, what she said wasn't important (though she can remember it in vivid detail) what matter was that she never came back from that flight. The young Peri didn't cry or show any emotion of her mothers death, instead, she made a promise of herself that she would do everything she could to make her mother proud. Already possessing a keen mind she applied herself to her studies, paying less attention to the science fields that she loved in favour of the more practical fields of engineering. Whilst she didn't have many friends or go on many dates she was content to follow this path and was rewarded with top grades at both High School and University. With such amazing grades there was a clamour of several top companies trying to recruit her to there company. At that point her future looked bright. After careful consideration she chose Nerio Concepts a small research firm that was working to create a device to project a force field to both protect the wearer and allowed limited flight function. The snappily named Spdr Rig was she was told to help emergency services to safely reach trapped and injured people for when they couldn't rely on superheroic help. Though she didn't originally develop the suit she quickly figured out its manufacture and made numerous improvement to the systems operations, indeed she already had numerous ideas for the second Rig once the first proved successful. The one fateful night she was doing final checks on the Spdr Rig's computers when she discovered there was a function to allow the suit to generate and expel a potentially dangerous burst of energy. Digging further she discovered more hidden functions that allowed the Spdr Rig to be weaponised, this went against the purpose she believed for the suit could and should be used for. Carefully she began to rooting through the companies computers she further discovered this was the actual aim of the project and that the Spdr Rig was to be sold off to the highest bidder. However, she wasn't careful enough and was confronted by a group of strangely armored guards, finally making her realised that the company was a front of a Super-Criminal organisation. With no other choice, she donned the Spdr Rig and used it to escape, without harming anyone in the process, escaping into the night. Thinking it was over she was shocked to be awoken the next morning by the police to be informed that the place had been burnt down in a fire, one that they had evidence that she'd started, and had claimed several lives. They didn't quite arrest her but did take her into custody, where a company lawyer explained that this could all go away if she told them where the Spdr Rig was now. She didn't even hesitate and instead told them that the Rig was destroyed, ready to accept whatever they had in store for her. To her surprise instead of arresting her or worse, they released her though in the cruellest thing they could do they had her blacklisted meaning she could never work in the field she had dedicated her life. Never being a quieter she picked herself up and rebuilt her life the best she could, having no plans to do anything with the Spdr Rig she wasn't as far as she was concerned a hero. Collecting the Spdr Rig to finally destroy it, better than it falling into the wrong hands, she spotted a mother and daughter about to be hit by a runaway bus. Without thinking she leapt into action snatching the two up and away from the danger, by scaling a nearby building with them. Having been caught on many cameras overnight she became a local hero, dubbed the Emerald Spider. Finally, she had a way to do good and help others in memory of what her mother had done. With Emerald Cities having few superheroes Emerald Spider was quickly adopted by the populous as there hero, an honor that Peri has taken very seriously. Keeping fiercely independent Emerald Spider hasn't only saved lives and fought villains she's also spoken out about the ills that befallen even a city as lucky as Emerald Cities. Whilst some have criticised her being so vocal most love her for standing up for her home, some snidely pointing out that most of those Freedom City heroes never even set foot in Emerald Cities. Away from the cowl being such a vocal hero has bought Peri out of her shell and bought out the communicator that had been inside her all along. This has allowed her to move up in her job, to a better-paying position, and a new apartment away from her father, though she has to share with her only slightly older Aunt Jae. But being a hero as well known as Emerald Spider can't help but bring out powerful enemies... Personality & Motivation: Peri's entire life has been focused in many ways to helping others, feeling that in this way she honors the memory of her mother. Even though she knows it's not her fault she's never been able to shake the guilt of the last things she said before her mother died. Though she's still very serious her time as Emerald Spider has affected her greatly, allowing her an outlet to enjoy herself has made her less stern. She's even been known to tell a joke now and again! Whilst she's Emerald Spider she's much more relaxed, having little time to overthink things she tends to rely on her instincts to deal with challenges. What started as a way to deal with her nerves, quips and joke at the expense of her enemies, has turned into something she now does naturally. Powers & Tactics: Peri's relies on her enhanced agility to keep constantly moving, making herself a difficult target to hit as can. She will do hit and run tactics, especially on ground base targets, hopefully keeping out of the way of potential danger. Mainly she chooses to make herself the main target of any attack, so others can take advantage of this fact. She's been doing this long enough to be a competent fighter, though she still prefers to use other means before fighting itself. Power Descriptions: The Spatial Distortion Resonance Rig (Spdr Rig) generates a field that works on strong and weak atomic forces to either attract or repel the operator from objects around them. The various way that this can be used is done with a series of complicated finger movements, despite several alterations to the design of the Rig she's kept the hand gestures her main thought is that this makes it's difficult for other to try an operate. The rig itself consists of a pair of gloves and belt and boots that all work together to generate the field, this had been enhanced by the fine silver mesh she's inlaid throughout her costume, the web pattern it forms was just a bonus. Because of the way the three interact lose of any of them will disrupt the function of the device. The Spdr Rig when active generates a shimmer in the air of a twisting of cords in the air, a visualization of multidimensional superstrings or quantum filaments, the solidity of these cords depends on how concentrated that part of the field is currently, from almost hidden by the silver web of her costume for her force field to almost solid for her Spdr Blast. Continued exposure to these fields has subtly altered her own quantum signature allowing her to do some of the Spdr Rig's abilities without wearing the apparatus. It's only recently that she's discovered this and she's still exploring the range of these powers and what possible harm they could cause to her. Complications: Don't run on Triple A's: Manipulating the fundamentals of the universe is a little power draining, to say the least, at the most inopportune moments her Spdr Rig can sometimes run out of juice making things difficult, to say the least. With Great Power: Peri is driver by the memory of her mother to always try and do the right things. She will push herself to her very limits, and sometimes beyond, to try and stop the villains. Can't fool Nana: Whilst Peri has managed to hide her identity in Emerald City from everyone except one, Nana Myung-sook. Nana had seen through her disguise almost immediately and got Peri to confess to the fact. Whilst it's mostly a bonus, giving Peri someone to talk to about her problems, Nana Myung-sook can't help but try to get involved in her granddaughter business putting herself in danger. Superheroin' don't pay the bills: Whilst she's managed to earn herself a better job, though she still spends lots of time on skyscraper roofs, the continuous improvement and power needs of the Spdr Rig still take up a substantial portion of her wages. 15. The Scarab III Kamala didn't like to rush things, taking time to gather as much information as she could. But in this circumstance she had to miss a more meticulous floor by floor clearing of potential enemies, the longer she took the more likely that someone would do something stupid. She did take a moment to study Yasser Sanu, it was troubling that he'd used them to gain powers in some way but alas not surprising. Still, she had to try and take this man down and recover the crystal, so she started her sonic weapon to put out a pulse of subsonic waves that should temporally remove his hearing allowing her a moment or two to get into the perfect position.
  16. Liam Conner As Sam continued to explain Liam checked his contacts on their cell, whilst they changed clothes somehow technology stayed between them, looking for someone he trusted enough to keep her safe. "Well do what we can to help, but we're going to have to get you somewhere safe. If serious money's involved they'll eventually send people more talented than there." he knew she'd might want to help, but they needed to at least try and dissuade her. "And this is my case so I'm not expecting you both to jump to help out..." he looked at the other two "...Not that I wouldn't mind the help!"
  17. Whatever works best for you H!

  19. The Traveller Smiling Sitara got out of the pilot's seat and the ship began the complicated dance of docking with the other vessel, it was early enough that the ship could handle everything itself. "Akazavani please note that I'm deputising this Terran, which allows him full access to Praetorian equipment etc, etc. As we don't know what we'll find we're going to have to treat this as a potentially hazardous environment." Walking to a series of lockers just outside the cabin she opened one to pull out what appeared to be a spacesuit, though much thinner than those you'd find back on Earth. As she held out the suit she pressed the wall which showed a display, altering it until it displayed instructions in English. "You'll need to put this on just to be safe, just follow the instructions and you should be fine. It's adjustable to a point so don't go too crazy until we know what's happening. And don't worry I'll be docking the ship so I won't peek as you change!" she grinned as she said this
  20. The Scarab III Looking over at the house Kamala made a quick calculation about the possible approaches to enter the place. A direct assault, either the front or the back of the place, was obvious and probably covered by whatever method this person favoured. With all the equipment she carried the obvious approach was the roof, she began to calculate the best approach to make it unseen. Time was probably of the essence, someone must have noticed this little gathering by now. "Okay, I guess it time I go and do this. Anything I should know before I go?"
  21. Liam Conner It was a sad tale that happened too often in the city, and one that often had a very mundane origin. But just because it was something mundane didn't mean it was worth doing something about. A little voice inside his head, literally, in this case, told him it wasn't worth it but he ignored that. Downing the last of the second helping of the terrible coffee he made his way out of the place. "We should probably get Sam to somewhere safe, I know someone who might help us out. She's a pain in the ass but I trust her, plus she still owes me a favour. Unless you think the sanctuary of the church is something that will apply in this case?" As he spoke he made his way back to the said place, hoping they wouldn't find anything they'd need to sort out first.
  22. Fixed Grapple totals and you were right with the Teleport, so I've take an extra feat (Improved Initiative) with the free point.
  23. The Scarab III "If you fine with sharing the data I'd like to sync your systems with SAFIYA, she's the suits AI no danger to your own systems I promise. Any floor plans would be helpful as well." She turned to her erstwhile college for the last few days and managed a smile at him. Kamala wasn't fond of him or trusted him at all, but she'd gotten used to his presence. "I'm sure you're devastated but I think it best if you don't accompany me from this point on, its got the potential to get pretty dangerous!"
  24. The Scarab III She was almost impressed, which was a rarity, at how he'd spotted the fake vambrace. She'd spent weeks getting it to look as good as the original, almost as long as she spent on the sonic weapon it concealed. It was a good place to start to earn a little trust in this matter. "That's because it's a highly advance sonic weapon, whilst this on the other hand..." she offered up the vambrace, on the other hand, the one she had subtly kept out of his vision "... Is the original Ancient Egyptian vambrace, let's see what you have to say about that?"
