"Trouble might be starting soon probably best if you hunker down and wait it out, best if we don't get the police involved." Bedlam Cities "finest" just made things more complicated. And with a last reassuring smile, he stepped out of the Diner and made his way to the gathered thugs out the front of the church. At over six feet and with a physique of a Norse god he was a suitably intimidating even before the changes that had left to him being here. "Boy's I suggest you give up on all this before things get messy!"

The Scarab III She gestured for the Doctor to get behind her, she might not still trust him but hopefully, he'd consider everything that she'd done for him. <"He might have his moments but he's been very helpful to my inquiries."> she'd figured now was the time to push her advantage <"You have something that needs to be in better hands, give me the Daka crystal and we'll say no more."> The weapons were disabled and without the crystal, they couldn't do any more harm, and god willing this was enough to set them on a more the straight and narrow.

Liam Conner Liam had insisted that he was the one that handled this meeting, these things always had the potential for disaster and as skilled as she was Rosa didn't have the nose for trouble that was sometimes necessary to survive in certain parts of Bedlam City. It didn't help that she'd been pensive for the whole day her magical senses suggesting that something was going to happen. Rosa wouldn't have noticed for instance the thugs gathered outside or know that trouble was most probably about to start. But as she was floating around in his consciousness she was very aware of what he'd noticed. You're not going to do something stupid now are you? Rosa warned Liam, knowing she'd probably be ignored.

Her hair is usually kept relatively short and tied up to keep it out of the way. With a little more responsibility she's begun to dress appropriately in a pantsuit, though they are fairly cheap and often dirty from her hands-on way of working. When not working she dresses for comfort and utility not really worrying about how fashionable her choices appear to everyone else. The superhero costume she wears is based on the original hoodie she was wearing when she first appeared as Emerald Spider, though a dark green rather than the black of the original. Over the costume is a fine web-like silver pattern, that increases the efficiency of the Spdr Rig. The Spdr Rig itself has been improved over time and is now three distinct unit's the two gloves, now green with the silver thread like the rest of the costume, and a slim silver belt. The gloves have a series of capsules around the wrist, whilst the belt is mostly made up of them, then generated the quantum field and provides power. To hide her identity beneath the hood she wears a green hood and goggles. History: Peri still remembers well what her mother would always tell her before she went away on deployment, Mi-yeong serving in the armed forces, that it was her duty to protect those that couldn't protect themselves. To her shame, a young angry Peri told her mother that she didn't care about those stupid people, what she said wasn't important (though she can remember it in vivid detail) what matter was that she never came back from that flight. The young Peri didn't cry or show any emotion of her mothers death, instead, she made a promise of herself that she would do everything she could to make her mother proud. Already possessing a keen mind she applied herself to her studies, paying less attention to the science fields that she loved in favour of the more practical fields of engineering. Whilst she didn't have many friends or go on many dates she was content to follow this path and was rewarded with top grades at both High School and University. With such amazing grades there was a clamour of several top companies trying to recruit her to there company. At that point her future looked bright. After careful consideration she chose Nerio Concepts a small research firm that was working to create a device to project a force field to both protect the wearer and allowed limited flight function. The snappily named Spdr Rig was she was told to help emergency services to safely reach trapped and injured people for when they couldn't rely on superheroic help. Though she didn't originally develop the suit she quickly figured out its manufacture and made numerous improvement to the systems operations, indeed she already had numerous ideas for the second Rig once the first proved successful. The one fateful night she was doing final checks on the Spdr Rig's computers when she discovered there was a function to allow the suit to generate and expel a potentially dangerous burst of energy. Digging further she discovered more hidden functions that allowed the Spdr Rig to be weaponised, this went against the purpose she believed for the suit could and should be used for. Carefully she began to rooting through the companies computers she further discovered this was the actual aim of the project and that the Spdr Rig was to be sold off to the highest bidder. However, she wasn't careful enough and was confronted by a group of strangely armored guards, finally making her realised that the company was a front of a Super-Criminal organisation. With no other choice, she donned the Spdr Rig and used it to escape, without harming anyone in the process, escaping into the night. Thinking it was over she was shocked to be awoken the next morning by the police to be informed that the place had been burnt down in a fire, one that they had evidence that she'd started, and had claimed several lives. They didn't quite arrest her but did take her into custody, where a company lawyer explained that this could all go away if she told them where the Spdr Rig was now. She didn't even hesitate and instead told them that the Rig was destroyed, ready to accept whatever they had in store for her. To her surprise instead of arresting her or worse, they released her though in the cruellest thing they could do they had her blacklisted meaning she could never work in the field she had dedicated her life. Never being a quieter she picked herself up and rebuilt her life the best she could, having no plans to do anything with the Spdr Rig she wasn't as far as she was concerned a hero. Collecting the Spdr Rig to finally destroy it, better than it falling into the wrong hands, she spotted a mother and daughter about to be hit by a runaway bus. Without thinking she leapt into action snatching the two up and away from the danger, by scaling a nearby building with them. Having been caught on many cameras overnight she became a local hero, dubbed the Emerald Spider. Finally, she had a way to do good and help others in memory of what her mother had done. With Emerald Cities having few superheroes Emerald Spider was quickly adopted by the populous as there hero, an honor that Peri has taken very seriously. Keeping fiercely independent Emerald Spider hasn't only saved lives and fought villains she's also spoken out about the ills that befallen even a city as lucky as Emerald Cities. Whilst some have criticised her being so vocal most love her for standing up for her home, some snidely pointing out that most of those Freedom City heroes never even set foot in Emerald Cities. Away from the cowl being such a vocal hero has bought Peri out of her shell and bought out the communicator that had been inside her all along. This has allowed her to move up in her job, to a better-paying position, and a new apartment away from her father, though she has to share with her only slightly older Aunt Jae. But being a hero as well known as Emerald Spider can't help but bring out powerful enemies... Personality & Motivation: Peri's entire life has been focused in many ways to helping others, feeling that in this way she honors the memory of her mother. Even though she knows it's not her fault she's never been able to shake the guilt of the last things she said before her mother died. Though she's still very serious her time as Emerald Spider has affected her greatly, allowing her an outlet to enjoy herself has made her less stern. She's even been known to tell a joke now and again! Whilst she's Emerald Spider she's much more relaxed, having little time to overthink things she tends to rely on her instincts to deal with challenges. What started as a way to deal with her nerves, quips and joke at the expense of her enemies, has turned into something she now does naturally. Powers & Tactics: Peri's relies on her enhanced agility to keep constantly moving, making herself a difficult target to hit as can. She will do hit and run tactics, especially on ground base targets, hopefully keeping out of the way of potential danger. Mainly she chooses to make herself the main target of any attack, so others can take advantage of this fact. She's been doing this long enough to be a competent fighter, though she still prefers to use other means before fighting itself. Power Descriptions: The Spatial Distortion Resonance Rig (Spdr Rig) generates a field that works on strong and weak atomic forces to either attract or repel the operator from objects around them. The various way that this can be used is done with a series of complicated finger movements, despite several alterations to the design of the Rig she's kept the hand gestures her main thought is that this makes it's difficult for other to try an operate. The rig itself consists of a pair of gloves and belt and boots that all work together to generate the field, this had been enhanced by the fine silver mesh she's inlaid throughout her costume, the web pattern it forms was just a bonus. Because of the way the three interact lose of any of them will disrupt the function of the device. The Spdr Rig when active generates a shimmer in the air of a twisting of cords in the air, a visualization of multidimensional superstrings or quantum filaments, the solidity of these cords depends on how concentrated that part of the field is currently, from almost hidden by the silver web of her costume for her force field to almost solid for her Spdr Blast. Continued exposure to these fields has subtly altered her own quantum signature allowing her to do some of the Spdr Rig's abilities without wearing the apparatus. It's only recently that she's discovered this and she's still exploring the range of these powers and what possible harm they could cause to her. Complications: Don't run on Triple A's: Manipulating the fundamentals of the universe is a little power draining, to say the least, at the most inopportune moments her Spdr Rig can sometimes run out of juice making things difficult, to say the least. With Great Power: Peri is driver by the memory of her mother to always try and do the right things. She will push herself to her very limits, and sometimes beyond, to try and stop the villains. Can't fool Nana: Whilst Peri has managed to hide her identity in Emerald City from everyone except one, Nana Myung-sook. Nana had seen through her disguise almost immediately and got Peri to confess to the fact. Whilst it's mostly a bonus, giving Peri someone to talk to about her problems, Nana Myung-sook can't help but try to get involved in her granddaughter business putting herself in danger. Superheroin' don't pay the bills: Whilst she's managed to earn herself a better job, though she still spends lots of time on skyscraper roofs, the continuous improvement and power needs of the Spdr Rig still take up a substantial portion of her wages.   9. The Scarab III Kamala knew how to deal with this, she'd spent ages practising a variety of martial arts of know possible solutions. Plus she had something that he didn't know about, a force field. She stepped forward until the blade touched the gravimetric force her suit generated. <"You really should have believed me when I told you the story"> She raised her hand and pressed it to his face, the gem glowing and the sonic weapon making a very satisfying humming noise. <"And unless you wish to explain your thoughts to Allah I suggest you tell your men to stand down!">

And we remind them of a sore point in their past." As she'd spoke she skillfully adjusted the controls, even the one he couldn't see due to it being holographic displays. Those he could see showed a variety of data in various alien texts. "And that's us ready to depart, hold onto your seats we're about to make the jump! And probably not a moment too soon!"

  12. Emerald Spider "Yowch things are getting hot!" Peri couldn't help with the quip, which was probably why Sister Blister attacked her in the first place "Or is that a sore spot for you?" As she quipped her engineer mind looked for a potential solution to fighting the villain, she could probably avoid the fire starter all night, but her ally and the house probably couldn't. Moving again against a fireball she spotted out of the window the house's pool, with water the one thing that always helped against fire! "You know you should surrender now before we stop you-you know. We don't want to rain on your parade and make it a wash out!" Out of sight of the villain Emerald Spider gestured towards the pool behind them all, hoping her quiet ally was pick up on her clue and use it to there advantage.

And she'll throw some of that fire at Emerald Spider Attack Roll: 1d20+9 11, and in return Emerald Spider is going to throw some good old fashion bolts of (quantum) web Attack Roll: 1d20+8 27.   14. GM Post The angrier Sister Blister seemed to get the bright and more intense her flames seemed to burn, and apparently being blinded only seemed to make her angrier. So whilst her flames seemed to flicker slightly at Mag's attack they quickly seemed to burn even more fiercely than before. Her attention at the moment seemed to be focused on the famous Emerald Spider, the one who apparently blinded her and even more helpfully kept blathering on. Though it wasn't enough for her to effectively hit the spider-themed hero, instead adding to the burning building.
  15. White Lioness is going to try and trick Terror Bird into doing something stupid!, using Acrobatic Bluff for a total of 30!, his Will save is Will Save: 1d20+7 12, nowhere even close! He'll focus his attack for this round on White Lioness Attack Roll: 1d20+10 18, close but no banana. Now all that Terror Bird needs is a gentle push into the water...
  16. GM Post The giant flightless Birdman took the bait and with a gigantic roar took after White Lioness, it's pure power in stark contrast to the acrobatic grace of the Danakan hero. It took some ineffective swipes at the African hero that she deftly avoided, each of which took them further away from the warehouse they'd starting from. In fact, they quickly reached the edge of the docks and the dark mysterious water contained within, the water that an overbalanced attack had placed Terror Bird almost right above.
  17. White Lioness Àjàṣorò thought back to the lessons that Umbheki had tried to teach her about tactics, about finding a weakness and turning it to your advantage. But all Àjàṣorò could see was warehouses and ship and water... "I have something in mind please follow my lead!" you could hear the glee in her voice. After a few stones expertly thrown to get its attention, White Lioness proceeded to do a series of acrobatic leaps and twirls away from the warehouse and back out into the docks proper.

Ms Britannia The problem with hosting so many voices was that you go so many different options running across all the avatars and back through there histories, and many had very differing opinions on what they should do. Some were loudly in favour of the lifting of the pct, other wanted nothing to do with such a blatant, a few tiny voices worried about there place if they were no longer needed. Holding all this together was taking up most of Agnus attention, besides the ball really was in the god's court right now.

GM Post There was most definitely something weird going on, apart from the fact that Casey was about to go onto a stage in a fancy frock, some of the heat signatures looked a little well off, not quite the norm. Unhelpfully Daphne so used to being human that her body heat was as normal as can be rather than whatever a Grue's would be. The problem was that at the angle they were at it was difficult to tell for sure which of the crowd was the imposter and who was completely normal. In fact, the most obvious place to tell for sure was right in the middle of the catwalk!
  20. Miss Grue Being an immigrant to the Earth herself Daphne was very sensitive to the idea of invading another people place, especially without finding out about them first. This was very much there home after all and the whole building was the interloper. "Agreed let's make out way back to the safety of the DuTemps building." This along with everything they'd done so far had been relayed back to the building psychically, so they could know if they'd found anything dangerous. Which based on what they'd found so far might be the case.
  21. Lucy Harker Lucy popped the trunk and offered to take the bag off of Nicole's hands, she hardly felt the weight after all. "Someone has quite the sense of humor it's true, we're probably lucky that we're not driving a hearse the whole way! Still, shes like me a lovely old bird, and much easier to drive than my old Model T!" she grinned before adding "Don't worry I've driven since then and my license is completely up to date, I can even drive a stick shift like this one!" She opened the passenger door to Nicole with an exaggerated gesture "We should be able to make good time and make it to town before daybreak."

The Scarab III Even though she was apparently terrible at this deception stuff she knew that he was also trying to trick her, in even the most liberal of Muslim countries there were always a few who chose to wear the niqab. She could even see one or two them in the market crowd. <"Shame on you know that the Prophet, peace be upon him, talked of the modesty of women in public. I might not be able to wear this in a classroom but I'm free to wear it here!"> it might be false bluster but it could buy her a few more minutes before trouble started. <"Maybe you should pay more attention to your scriptures rather than hassling a poor fool over weapons!">

It didn't take much to come to a solution, she might have had certain plans in place for just such emergencies. Or at least something similar, she was many things but not psychic. "I just happen to have the essential materials to create an Ansible to the Praetorians stationed on CoVic. Very few races can mess with Quantum entanglement signals, and the Khanate are most definitely not one of them." she paused before adding the more serious detail of this "Even if we do this though there will be some bloodshed, we'd have to hold out until our allies could respond. No one would blame you if you chose the more peaceful option."

Though obviously, I'd need more biometric data to know for certain." Sitara looked proud at this as she explained why "Her matrix is getting better at complex and abstract thoughts, I guess I did a decent job on this one!" The joy was short lived as the ships display showed energy spiked from the surface. "Several ships are preparing to launch, all appear to be armed in some fashion." "Hmmm, I guess they want to encourage users to leave right away, strap yourself in Terran time to leave!"
  25. Triakosia Dancia went over to the cryopod to answer her curiosity, she'd seen collections like this before being the custodian of Sanctum. This felt far like a collection of things because they were important, there was no sense of the stories behind these things. She cleared the glass of the ancient cryopod to look at the face of its occupant. It looked just like the original images she'd seen of Madame Radium and she'd apparently not aged a day since the original 40's picture. "Looks like someone graduated from collecting things to people! At least she seems to be the only one so far."
