ic Emerald City Team-up: Danger, danger...
Tiffany Korta replied to Tiffany Korta's topic in The Emerald Cities
GM Post The window burst out in a massive burst of electricity finally revealing the person they'd been after, and in appearance, as a villain, she was fairly unremarkable. In her charcoal grey suit, she appeared to be a young businesswoman except for the domino mask she was using to hide her features. "I'm feeling generous hero! So split now before the trouble starts." she spoke with quite a sneer in her voice obviously quite confident in her abilities to deal with one of Emerald Cities nascent hero community.- 36 replies

Miss Grue Daphne looked a little guilty and chastised for a few moments. "Ah yeah my bad, the problem with trying to unravel a conspiracy is that you tend to forget where the end are! Your friends are as far as I can tell on the level, though I'd never just probe their minds without permission." She'd learned a lot over the years about how humans tended to value their privacy so tended not to probe people mind unless it absolutely necessary. Except for maybe, there surface thoughts as people just couldn't help but broadcast them, it was like they just mentally shouted out what was on there mind. Still, that was the least of what was on her mind right now as she gave her friend another huge hug. "We're going to do a fashion show!"

The Scarab III "This is all still new to me but I'd like to get to connect with more heroes if I can, and if need be I can always come up with another name!" she smiled and hope they were fine with her adoption of the name. As for the "expert", she had to reign in her dislike of such people. Her family coming from Egypt they'd often had to deal with experts who'd come in and tried to tell them about their ancient culture when they knew perfectly well about such things. Still, if he knew about the vambraces history it was worth taking a chance, though she wasn't going to make it easy for him. "When my family left Egypt for Freedom City they bought this with them, is an Ancient Egyptian artefact that's been handed down from generation to generation." She held up, however, the fake that she'd carefully crafted herself to be as accurate as she could, but a keen eye would be able to tell that it was a fake.

So one more post from you Ex and we'll get to face the war droid!
-
GM Post The Traveller was right in her analysis as the artificial mind of the war droid they'd be following, invisible to them both for now. Its devious mind programmed only for death and destruction had been focused on its many targets, the beautiful city only a few kilometres from where they were, but now it turned its baleful intent to those following. It stopped it solid progress and turned warming up it weapons ready to attack its foes, still unseen by them both. Both of them would soon see exactly what the smugglers were selling to fight those border wars...
-
The Traveller Sitara was quite impressed at the curiosity of this human if they were all like this there was no wonder they'd come so far in such a short time. All this must be what irritated the Lor about them, they had a certain way of doing things and anyone who did thing different where a chore to them. "This region was disabled by the Incursion and the space beyond this is contested by half a dozen balkanised states. Some of them will by anything to win there battles, I was trying to stop someone smuggling beyond the Lor when they dumped their cargo here on this peaceful little world." As she explained she tried to keep an eye on whatever it was, encased in what appeared to be some kind of stealth field. It wouldn't be long before it noticed them and tried to do something about their presence.

Zhenshchina-voin All Klara could do was watch the events unfold from her hiding place, catching the conversation as it unfolded, luckily still unnoticed by the thug's whose attention seemed to be on Dreadnaught as was the plan all along. As tempting as it was to crash down and take out this hornet but that would ruin the last chance to gain more information about what was going on here in Hong Kong. So for the moment, she waited patiently to go into action.

White Lion Her first instinct was to rush in and help, to be the hero like she'd seen on so many forms of American media, but she'd learned from her father that there were often others ways to fight a battle. She looked at the crowd, the people who knew this area as there home, maybe they knew something that they could use? "People are in danger inside that building if you know anything that can help us save them please tell me." She hoped the fact that she wasn't local might help them open up and tell them what was happening.

Doctor Rosa Thorne With a loud tut, the Lady Henry gave in to the request, though still giving the airs that being of "those sorts" they'd rob her blind the moment she left the room. With the changing of Liam to Rosa with no more than a shudder theft was the furthest from there though, not that either would resort to theft at even there lowest point. Instead, Rosa walked around the case examining the ring with some interest. "Plain gold ring, possibly 19th century, no intrinsic value in itself, beyond it gold content. The fact that we've not been told about the ring suggest there's a gory story behind its origins. It might be possible to track some kind of resonance to a previous owner and unravel this whole mystery." With some sand she began to trace out a magical circle around the display case, probably totally ruining the carpet underneath as she did so. Not that she was particularly concerned.
-
GM Post Moving across the room was relativity simple, it seemed that none of the policed wanted to stay in the room. And it was plain to see why the had been spooked the corpse had been completely desiccated to closely resemble the appearance of an Egyptian mummy. That made it difficult to tell if the grimace was from whatever process had done this or from fear who or whatever attacked him. Spooked by the weirdness of the whole thing, Bedlam wasn't a place where crimes like this happened often, they left the corpse alone. This included what looked like the only possible clue to this all, a piece of paper he held firmly in one of his hands.

The Scarab III Kamala had been practising for a while on how to answer this one but despite that, she still felt guilty when the questions came up. It wasn't often that she felt nervous about anything but for once she did, though as usual, she didn't shy away from the question. Still, it was something that needed to be answered so best now whilst in friendly company. "Actually I'm new to the Scarab title. I thought it a fitting tribute to the others that came before." Looking around at the assembled people, and wanting to change the subject she added. "It seems to me that it would be foolish to try and start trouble tonight, so let us hope there are no fools around with such ideas!"

ic Emerald City Team-up: Danger, danger...
Tiffany Korta replied to Tiffany Korta's topic in The Emerald Cities
GM Post As Emerald Spider said the street was crowded with small but high-value stores, including a few expensive looking jewellers. The street was pretty clear, with many closed or starting to close for the day, so the street was almost deserted. It was probably the best time of day to pull a robbery like this without any attention. It almost looked like they were wrong for a few seconds until the smoked glass window of the nearest Jewellers was lite up from within, they'd apparently caught Electron in the middle of her robbery!- 36 replies

Tiffany Korta replied to Tiffany Korta's topic in The Emerald Cities
Emerald Spider Emerald Spider considered the options for a few moments, one thing about swinging around the city plus her day job was that she had a good idea of how the city was laid out. "Hmmm, not banks on that block but there are a couple of Jewellery Shops. Whilst all the Banks will be on alert no one could consider them a threat, no hassle and everyone's looking somewhere else. Let's go take a look shall we?" She raised her hand and made a gesture that sent a twisting twirling thread of quantum filament and swung up into the sky towards the block.- 36 replies

GM Post From the air, it was finally possible to see how advanced the aliens actually were for in the distance was a gleaming white city with lots of little dots that must be some form of flying cars. But more immediately a trail through the long grass showed the passage of something moving through it, though it was impossible for some reason to make the weapon out. Luckily it didn't seem to be moving faster than a running man so they should be able to catch the weapon up if they could see the actual thing. The bad news was that the object looked to be making its way towards the city, which would be a terrible thing if this thing was even half as bad as Sitara had implied.
-
The Traveller "Those are lightweight weapons compared to some, that's why we try and keep them out of the hands of those less able to deal with covers most people really." She watched the human take to the air, not the most common way to do things but she had seen similar before. Which was just bound to happen when you'd travelled around as much as she did. And it wasn't a bad idea, so after a quick goodbye whinny to the natives, she activated the suits flight capacity to follow along with the human.

Zhenshchina-voin Far above the action Klara had a great view of everything going on though apparently not everything as the sudden appearance of Hornet showed. She'd tried to keep up with every hero known to the Ministry but there were so many it was almost impossible, new ones kept popping up every time you turned around. Plus he was probably trying to keep on the down low, working for a crime lord and all. Right now she chose to stay put, soon it would be the time to strike but she'd choose the moment to catch them all out.

Liam Conner You could tell that Lady Henry was of old Bedlam money she refused point blank to even talk to Rosa and barely tolerated Liam and his "deviant tastes" and probably only because he was of noble bearing. Normally they wouldn't even deal with someone like this, but being an occult detective didn't always allow for a regular paycheck and there was no shortage of cheaper less scrupulous detectives for the real bread and butter work. "I've recently acquired a ring that it is rumoured to be cursed, I considered such thing hokum but my lawyer insists that it be checked for such things." Rosa's funk at having to stay out of the conversation, something alas that she experienced far too often in Bedlam, evaporated at the potential mystery. With Liam's eyes she looked at the rather plain looking ring in a secure wooden case. I'll need to look at the ring with all my senses to see if it really is cursed, we'll need to get the old bat out of the way for a while! Luckily Liam was ever the diplomat, though for once they were in agreement about someone. "We'll need a moment to look at the rings magical signature, such things can be dangerous to the untrained so we'll need a moment alone with the ring."
-
GM Post Relying on smell was never the best option in a place like Bedlam, especially in its many dark alleyways. But as Óscar got higher up the fire escape the air got, well not exactly cleaner but easier to distinguish separate smells. At least his progress was unhindered by the police, not the most efficient of people, not thinking to stop people using the fire escape. From the room itself along with the various smells of the people coming and going around the scene, and the unfortunate faint traces of its previous use, was the faintest smell of death. But not the fresh smell of the recently deceased but the ancient smell of one long dead, tinged with the smell of sulphur.
-
GM Post After a few minutes, the braver of the aliens stuck there head out from cover and started to reply to Sitara, who helpfully provided a translation as, she as it turned out, spoke. <"Meteor fell from the sky a few hours ago, but nothing came from the object before spearmint fell from the sky. We thought they might have something to do with the object."> it was weird to hear her try and say the alien, to her, word. <"Something must have exited the pod whilst you were busy with Spearmint there?"> With what must have been the horse equivalent of a nod the alien agreed, taking a communications device that apparently they kept attached to the rump, and began to ask around to find out what had left the pod.
-
The Traveller "Tell you what you buy a drink, or two, back at CoVic station and I'll tell you how I ended up in space. But I'll give you this for free we were never confused about the aliens being lost gods or anything, cause it probably helped that the actual gods were out and about!" She then knelt down and examined the edge of the crater and the open capsule. After a few minutes, she looked at some kind of technical device on her wrist before adding. "Well lucky for you it's not a bioagent or nanite swarm, but it looks like it's some kind of autonomous weapon of some kind. Let's see if the locals know what happened here?" She began to call out the neighing language of the aliens.

Emerald Spider It was a little difficult to work the cars keyboard, and she wasn't going to take them off and leave fingerprints here, but eventually, she got the hang of the machine. Then it was making the machine do exactly what they wanted it to tell them, no an easy task on this pretty simple machine. But in her time Peri had worked with much simpler and even less user-friendly machines and made them sing just how she wanted to do here. unfortunately, the information she gathered wasn't as useful as they wanted, but it did contain something useful. She somersaulted out of the car and onto the roof shouting up to her partner. "No unusual power surges hereabout, seems she make her own."- 36 replies

GM Post From the air it was possible to pick out the chaos of the fleeing Electron, but just only just among the general rush hour traffic, she must have chosen the time of the raid for just this reason. Either way the roads were snarled with the lights being out for several blocks. But just a block over things seemed to be flowing quite nicely thank you very much. Could she so bold, would she be so bold? With the polices attention on the bank and the traffic it would be relatively simple to just pop a block over and hit another back before anyone noticed something amiss.- 36 replies

As she's a Titanium character you don't need to retire her, she'll just remain around to be used when need be.
