  1. GM Post "Then, let us follow the river until we get closer to the East Gate of the village." Said Pedro. "From there, we can make a run straight to the tower, and hopefully, avoid most traffic before finding that robed fella." The Captain didn't need to consider it. "Then let us waste no more time." Steeling themselves for the trial ahead, the group nodded in agreement. Even Pedro and Dennis looked ready and determined, though the latter still seemed a bit shaken in the legs. Nevertheless, the time for action was now, and amidst the morning hail and storm, the group followed Carmen's lead. By the time they managed to climb out of the river, some demons had jumped inside the fissure, only barely missing the humans. Here they come, Master. Tazel cautioned, and five hulking demons that looked like bears with elephantine heads and insect-like wings came into view. They appeared to be guarding the street directly bellow the Bell Tower, and they were equipped with Ancient Roman-era armour and weapons. "You may think your Journey rife with Possibilities, Daughter of the Cursed Cane, but you will soon come to realize that it is but a Fool's Errant." Came an otherworldly voice from above. The robed... man?... was floating quite a few feet away from the bell tower, at about 70 feet above the street level. Carmen had a clear view of him from bellow, and it appeared that the robes were... hollow on the inside. Only shadows seemed to occupy the grab of the robbed man. What stood out the most, however, where four items that seemed to float around the wizard, surrounding him like satellites. A black and red disk the size of a plate, a green coloured chalice that oozed a bluish substance that seemed both gas and liguid at the same time, a short orange wand, and a distortedly curved ashen grey sword. Heeeeh hehehehehe... Interesting. Veeeery interesting. A human this wizard is not, but neither a demon. The imp noted.
  2. Earth. Such a small planet. Certainly, in the grand cosmos, there have been smaller planets, barren planets, satelite planetoids teeming with life, gas giants, colonized meteorites... All of them put together still amounted to but a spec of a spec, in relation to the vast expansive universe. And compared to those, Earth was smaller still. And yet... Here was Hronos. Bound to a small planet. A random planet. A planet of little seeming significance, and yet, a planet holding immense importance to the very fabric of reality. For here was a planet of heroes and villains, a planet of ordinary folk struggling through their everyday lives, a planet where danger loomed in every corner, a planet where hope shone through. A planet like every other planet. So similar and small from afar, yet up close different and immense. Hronos, for the first year since he had awakened, stayed close to the point of his awakening, the land that was known by the planet's inhabitants as the Freedom City's Liberty Park, slowly working his way to knowing the people of the land and their culture. Barring the odd travel to remote locales every now and then, Hronos generally operated close to Freedom City. Ever since the last year, however, that changed. The Mechanodynamis made a habbit of scouring the Earth, looking for any troublesome event that would warrant his attention. From Ivory Coast to Thailand, to Switzerland, to Cameroon, and even Nepal and Brazil, Hronos traveled in search of Time Ripples, in order to close them, and the occasional criminal to cross his path. His latest escapade had brought him to Yemen, south of Saudi Arabia and South-East of Oman. He had just finished closing a Temporal Bleed(a spot which generated uncontrolled Chronal Energy that if left unattended could infect everything it came into contact with, creating causality paradoxes, speeding, slowing, or reversing one's lifespan, making materials to experience rapid oxydation, and so on), when he noticed a spec of an object falling from the sky. It took little time for Hronos to realise that this was neither a comet, nor an ordinary phenomenon, and even less time to determine its relative tranjectory and velocity. Hronos' ability to analyze and compute data was superb, and the metallic guardian of Time flew with all haste for what he estimated to be the landing site. If my recollection is correct, the object should land in the area known as Rub 'al Khali. Further data suggests that the impact will be contained inside the uninhabited area. However, I should still investigate the object. It might be a manned vehicle, which would mean that the people operating the object may be in need of assistance.
  3. FCU Dormitories Jeremiah watched the video he had recieved on his laptop with equal parts fascination, anxiousness, and dread. Not only Elwyn knew about Jerry's... extracurricular activities, a significant feat considering Jerry's lack of exposure thus far, but he also managed to send a video to Jerry's laptop... How he managed to find his email address, Jerry wasn't sure. And then... there was the shadow portal that had appeared in his room. Jerry wasn't much of a magician (all knowledge he had on the subject was courtesy of that damned Tetramegedon book that had fused with him, and even then, he had barely more access to its contents than he had to his breathing process), but even he could tell that there were some powerful magics on play here. And I had the good fortune of attracting that person's attentions, eh? Dammit. That does not bode well, not for my regular life, nor for my crime fighting career. If one guy can learn about me so easily... Jerry's heartbeat accelerated, as he dwelled upon the implications of his situation. "And you say that this doorway will take me to... the Nile, correct?" He asked, half-expecting a reply, while regarding the waning portal with some hesitation. Well, Jerry... either this is for real, and for once I'll be dealing with more than just common thugs, or it's a trap... which, considering my current sitch, I'm dead meat whether I step through the portal or not... Gulping accumulated saliva down, Jerry tried to gather his courage and steeled himself. "This must be the proverbial leap of faith, then." He noted, and as he started removing his clothes, revealing the suit he was wearing underneath, he slowly walked towards the eldritch doorway. I wonder if Egypt is cold this time of year. Jerry thought, moments after stepping through the shadows... Maybe I should pack some extra clothes, just in case.

  7. GM Post The enchanted Hulking Demon crushed like the tidal wave on the attacking creatures, felling quite a few of the damned beasts as he clumsily did so. Without wasting a moment, the group ran for cover, under the ongoing hail, using the two buildings to its advantage, before making the jump down the fissure. The fissure was indeed a river, one that must have been deep and overflowing once upon a time. Now, only a small stream, not even 2 feet deep, and barely more than 17 feet wide, the nearly dried up river could offer not only protection for the humans, but also a means of relocation, and maybe even escape. As the demons further rampaged through the village, the search party and Carmen were finally getting a much needed reprieve. "This is insane! Do you hear that? There's more'n a hundred of those things." William noted. "Do you think we can make a run for it, while they are busy tearing the place appart?" "... Somehow." The Captain noted, pointing at Pedro and Dennis, who were visibly shaken, "I doubt that it's a viable idea. And even if we did get out of here, miss Canto is right; we need to find out who that guy in the robes is. Maybe he's the one responsible for the demons overrunning the island." "Maybe..." "... At any rate, what I don't get is how they found us. Considering that they came in droves in what was supposed to be an abandoned area, I doubt that they just happened to pop up." "Well... do you think they were following us then?" "No, impossible. They'd have attacked us long before, and even then, we would have sniffed them coming."

  10. Player Name: Vahnyu Character Name: Mater Vyrdna Power Level: 10 (150/150PP) Trade-Offs: -2 Attack / +2 Damage, -2 Defense / +2 Toughness Unspent Power Points: 0 Progress To Bronze Status: 0/30 Theme: Good Fight (Main Theme), Alien Champion (Tension), Keep Moving (Fight), by Trocadero. In Brief: Alien engineer who fused with a spaceship, becoming capable of controlling machines in the process. Alternate Identity: Vyrdnaya Solnys-Kori Milareth Identity: Public Birthplace: Aetol City, Planet Akarnia 05 Occupation: Former Engineer Private Praetorian of the Delaztri Empire Affiliations: Praetorians Family: Solnys Radamathon-Kuros Milareth (né Astart) (Father - Deceased), Somna Aethalom-Kori Milareth (Mother - Deceased), Frethyn Solnys-Kori Milareth (Older Sister - Deceased), Haradam Solnys-Kuros Milareth (Younger Brother - Deceased), Jihiskh Mavon-Kuros Milareth (né Ainour) (Husband - Deceased), Solmav Jihiskh-Kuros Milareth (Son - Deceased, 25), Tormug Jihiskh-Kuros Milareth (Son - Deceased, 15), Triinareti Jihisk-Kori Milareth (Daugther - Deceased, 17). Description: Age: 92 (DoB: Over 2'000 years ago) Apparent Age: 27 Gender: Female Ethnicity: Meso-Akarnian Height: 5'5" Weight: 260 lbs Eyes: Hazel Green (Organic), Red (Mechanic) Hair: Hazel Green Mater Vyrdna's body has been fused with random mechanical parts, with various patches of blue colored flesh serving as proof that she once had been a purely organic lifeform. Especially standing out, half side of her kneck, and the upper-left part of her head, are comprised of machinery, while her fin-like ears and her blue tail betray her heritage as an Akarnian, and a Meso-Akarnian at that. Her medium-lenght hair is coloured Hazel Green, same as her eyes, and it is tied in a knot. She dons a pair of glasses, mostly out of habit. Mater Vyrdna's form, and specifically, the mechanical parts of it, is often subject to change, depending on the situation, such as materialising wings, transforming her limbs into weapons, or even her entire body melding into an external machine. Power Descriptions: Mater Vyrdna can control machines. This includes, but is not limited to, reconfiguring and transforming machines at the merest touch, granting them sentience, and exerting mental control over them. These powers apply even to her own body, allowing her to shapeshift her limbs into rayguns, hammers, laser swords, rocket launchers, drills, etc. She is able to meld with machines, allowing her to transfer her body through them. Finally, she can directly communicate with machines. History: Vyrdnaya Solnys-Kori Milareth was born into a relatively wealthy family in the Akarnia Planet of the now long gone Delaztri Empire. Despite having had all comforts available to her, Vyrdnaya had nevertheless managed to grow into a responsible young woman, and through her studies, she quickly developed an interest in engineering. While she'd frequently have arguments with her parents, who were far too oldfashioned for her liking, she held them both dearly. After graduating from college, she decided to enlist in the Delaztri Empire's military, wishing to join the exalted ranks of the Praetorians. Unfortunately, she couldn't meet the recruitment standards for the Praetorian guard, and instead was enlisted as a regular military personel instead. Service in the military wasn't easy. An unfortunate short-lived affair with a fellow officer left her pregnant, and her parents, who weren't very supportive of her being a lowly military officer, forced her a choice; either marry Jihiskh Mavon-Kuros Ainour (an old university colleague of Vyrdnaya who was making rounds in the field of interconnectivity), or refuse to give her any further support, lest she decided to quit the military. Caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place, Vyrdnaya aqcuiesced to the marriage, after reaching an understanding with Jihiskh, who was also being forced to the marriage by his own parents. The marriage finalized, the two returned to pursuiting their respective careers, and Vyrdanya eventually gave birth to Solmav. Despite all setbacks, Vyrdnaya's engineering talent didn't take long to shine through, and she was being steadily promoted in rank, eventually becoming Lieutenant Commander. Things were also looking up for her, vis-a-vis her marriage, as Vyrdnaya and Jihiskh found themselves warming up to each other, and eventually falling in love. Their newfound relationship led to the births of Triinareti and Tormug, and the five enjoyed the next 15 years, not as strangers who happened to be together out of necessity and convenience, but out of love and understanding. During this time, Vyrdnaya was eventually transferred at the ship that she would serve, remaining there for three years, before the Communion attacked. During the climactic battle, the Warp Engine of the Delaztri ship was severly damaged. Vyrdnaya ordered the other engineering crewmembers to evacuate the engine room, while she stayed behind to ensure that it would remain operational. A sudden explosion caused the warp to go haywire, and Vyrdnaya got caught in the surge of energy that teleported her inside the fusion engine. This was a death sentence... or it should have been one. Instead, Vyrdnaya's body was infused with the ship, deep inside its engines, and her consiousness was left wandering the ship's network, with no way to escape or interract with the outside world. Until one day, the Praetorians, not long after being revived in the present, discovered a strange subroutine that was running in the background of their ship. Personality & Motivation: Back in the days of the Delaztri Empire, Vyrdnaya was a dreamer, an inquisitive mind accompanying an adventurous spirit. Though her wish to join the Praetorians was rejected, on account of her lacking the proper physical conditioning, she was nonetheless a steadfast member of the Delaztri Navy, and her engineering expertise helped her serve well in every vessel she was assigned. She loved her parents, even when they disagreed, and always made sure her children were happy. Her relationship with Jihiskh was a bit more complicated, were at times she wasn't sure if they were lovers or great friends. Nevertheless, the two were always there for each other, through thick and thin. This, sadly, is no more the case. The Delaztri Empire fell two millenias ago, and Vyrdnaya's body spent that time in hybernation, while her consiouness was trapped in a digitalized state, never to see her children grow, never to share a kiss with her husband again. This realization has been slowly seeping in her, and in order to cope, she has started treating the surviving Praetorians as family. The Communion has already costed her one; she is not gonna give up another family, not so long as she has a say on the matter. Powers & Tactics: Depending on the situation and the terrain, Mater Vyrdna has a versatile range of options in order to engage in combat. When faced with machinery and robotic enemies, she will try to override them via her mental connection to them. If that fails, or if she isn't up against machines, she can still control whatever machines are around her, transforming them, bending them to her will, or even absorbing them in order to use them as spare parts. Finally, if neither of those are readily available, she is still capable of transforming herself, creating a vast array of weapons to use at any range, and she is capable for various modes of transportation. Complications: Half Machine: Thanks to Vyrdnaya getting fused with the Delaztri Naval Ship, she is now a techo-organic being. Pain of Loss: Losing your entire family, including your husband and children, is an entirely traumatic experience. As a result, Vyrdnaya is doubly protective of those she cares for. Ghost in the Machine: Vyrdnaya's body can be disorienting for her to control, and there's a certain amount of disconnect she feels from it, despite still retainning organic parts. The Unchosen One: Unlike the other Praetorians, Vyrdnaya was never officially knighted, serving only as staff engineer for the Praetorian spacecraft. Her powers came much later. As such, she is rather uncofident, when it comes to operating outside her engineering specialization. I'm In the Ship; I Am the Ship: Vyrdnaya melding into machines often has the result of her consciousness joinning with whatever she is currently fusing with. She has great affinity and empathy for whatever she joins with. 12. Character: Mater Vyrdna(WIP) What is she currently doing: Her consciousness is trapped inside the Praetorian Spaceship Note: Sorry for the late posting. Replying from mobile internet, due to extenuating circumstances. I have about two to three more weeks of army service, before I'm able to return to active posting for good. I ask for the Ref team's understanding, and if not possible to include my character(who is still a work in progress) in Phase 01, then at least please reserve a spot for her for Phase 02.

  14. 23 days of FREEDOM! after 4 weeks of non-stop outpost guard duty. (well, and some exams in the midst of it all, but who cares?) And after that ends, 2 months till December the 10th (hopefully), for me to end my army engagements. Time sure flies...
  15. GM Post The hulking demon only let out a snarl, before turning around, and intercepting a flame-tailed fox that found its way to the main street. The wild beast lunged at the ogre, intent on taking a huge chank of meat from the enthralled demon, only to find its teeth lodging on the ogre's fist, before its punch deformed the fox's face. The giant then followed up by smashing the tree it carried on the beast's ribcage, causing the blue fire to claim its remains. Pedro and Dennis breathed a brief, if premature, sigh of relief, before realising that the others had already started ahead. The closest buildings were three houses, although ramshackles would be a better description. They were both three-storied, with the top floors' roofs completely destroyed, and their windows appeared to be broken. Only one building still had a standing door, and that was barely holding up on its hinges. A bit further, the village center was being run over by flying implings and eagles with draconian heads, though behind that laid the village school, which seemed in a somewhat better condition than all other buildings they'd seen so far. Meanwhile the entrance to the village was barred by rampaging elephants, covered in giant turtle shells with protruding spikes, and having a tail similar to that of a scorpion. "We better find a good place to hide, before they notice and gang up on us." William noted. The Captain frantically looked, in the hopes of finding a good hideout. "... Wait, over there! Between the two buildings!" following her gaze, Williams and Carmen saw that she was pointing at a fissure behind the two buildings, probably a river, accessible from the opening between two of the houses. "We can climb down there and use the tight space to our advantage." "Dunno, Captain. We don't know how deep the chasm is, nor how strong the water flows. Seems dangerous." "More dangerous than here?" "Gkh...." William simply clenched his teeth, as he still surveyed the area, in the vain hopes of finding a better alternative. All the while, the magician on the top of the watchtower finally stopped ringing the bell.
  16. Unless you are replying from a mobile phone or a tablet or somesuch(in which case, i am not 100% certain), there should be a word on the left side of the button MultiQuote, at the end of your post, saying Edit. Granted, it may be slightly hard to see, but it's there EDIT: Like so!
  17. Awesome idea for a character, Edvyn. A few notes to make, regarding the crunch. -Grapple is 7, not 8, due to the -1 in STR. You should also make a seperate note for your Grapple bonus when usingn Telekinesis. -The 3 saves are low. It is generally accepted that your Fort, Ref, and Wil should average at about PL-2. This is by no means a hard rule, and you can have your character have a bit higher or lower averages, but it's a good rule of thumb to follow. In your case, (4+4+9)/3=5. I understand that you want your PC to be physically frail, but you can achieve that without hurting your average combat. For example, (5+5+14)/3=8, which is PL-2 for your PC. Alternatively, (4+4+14)/3 would equal to 7+1/3, an acceptable variation margin. -Skills are ok. The 2 knowledges are, perhaps, somewhat low, but if you are content with that, then I don't have any problem either. -Fearsome Pressence is woefully low-ranked, to the point that even common mooks would, at most be shaken. Unless it's there for purely flavour, I wouldn't expect much milleage out of it. Bear in mind, this is strictly my opinion. Now, seeing as you've spent all your PPs, here's some advice that may help you a bit, in case you want to make some changes/add stuff. ! Your base attack doesn't need to be above 3. You can instead buy the rest with attack focus(Ranged) and Accurate feat ranks. 1 rank and 2 ranks respectively should have you covered, while also not violating the house rules, earning you 7 PPs. ! Simlarly, 4 ranks of base defense and 4 ranks of the dodge focus feat, would earn you 4 PPs, at the cost of 2 points of flatfooted defense. Doing the wbove two would mean you have 11 extra PPs to spend ;)
  18. Happy birthday to youuuu. Happy birthday tooooo youuuuu. Happy BIRTHDAY, dear Arich! HAPPY birthdaaaaayyyyy... Tooooooo.... Youuuuu!
  19. Last day of my short-lived freedom, today, as I return to the trainning base tomorrow morning, but fret not; as soon as I recieve my assignment in the military and learn for sure that I'll have steady and reliable internet access (which given my official military capacity as Computer Science Research Private, it's highly likely that I will have), I'll be able to finally return to regular posting! I expect at least 1 to 3 days before I know for certain, but by the weekend(if not sooner), I'll have my answer.
  20. Happy Birthday, Geez3r!
  21. Hi everyone. My military conscription service is coming up. I get drafted at 10th of March, the service would be about 9 months total. The first month is trainning in a remote base, with little-to-no internet connection availability, so I'll have to drop from posting for at least that much. My sincere apologies for all the games I'm currently in that this causes an inconvinience.
  22. Hronos was clutching his head in pain, as he tried to fight off the damage that the forced transportation caused to his sensors. This was not gonna be a simple investigation any more. A lot of time passed until he managed to reign in the visions he was seeing, even after he deactivated his Temporal Senses. This incident is the only logically expected result of such crude experimentation with temporal transportation. Hronos thought, as he recalled the mere fraction of time during which he caught a clear glimpse of the machine that flashed him, Shadowblade, and the Silver Magus. This was certainly a predicament... "Our current situation was brought about by use of temporal energy, that much is true. However, since my sensors have been damaged, I cannot ascertain whether this is a case of an outright temporal rewrite of the timeline, or a timeline divergence that resulted with us stranded in an alternate universe created to accomodate the change. If this is the first case, then I agree that finding how this change came to be and taking actions towards fixing it to the original timeline would indeed be the best course of action. Otherwise, if this is the second case, it would mean that the universe we are currently occupying will continue to exist as it currently is, even after we return to our original timeline." Hronos said to Shadowblade, in response to her question.
  23. Hronos will use Time Stopper as a full round action, against the Collapse Manifestation, and the Dinosaur DC24 Reflex save to halve the effect DC24 Reflex save vs Stun Hronos becomes Distracted, and suffers 1 Injury
