  1. Serge groaned at this display. While they were jumping on conclusions, those guards were just doing their jobs. It couldn't be helped, and he'd rather not have to hurt anyone where it could be avoided. Lifting his hands as high in the air as he could, and making sure he kept them wide open, he stepped in front of mister Landis, and spoke. "We understand completely. We will comply with all your requests." As he said that, he kneeled, making sure that his knees touched the ground, as a further sign of compliance, and that he wasn't planning on running away. All the while, he tried keeping calm about the situation. Addressing the others, he said, "It's alright, everyone. We've got nothing to hide, and no reason not to follow their orders. The sooner we do, the sooner we'll get to resume our night, no harm, no fuss." He hoped that the others would be receptive to that idea. He also hoped that mister Landis wouldn't chastisize or punish him later for taking the lead.
  2. Initiative: 1d20+19 → [18,19] = (37) Charge at the lone robber of the three, +2 Atk, -2 Def. Flight 250ft/Move Action 1d20+9 → [15,9] = (24) If it hits, DC 26 Sonic Fists, +Autofire
  3. Net Fly rushed at the scene taking place in the gas station, as soon as he was alerted to it. He opted to survey the situation first from up high, and make sure he knew what he was up against. From above, it was evident that the robbers meant business. Their lack of firearms did not puzzle him, and the fear their captives displayed while being held at, well, pointer finger-point, spoke volumes of the situation at hand; they saw something that had frightened them to submission. Deciding that he had seen enough, he flew with force heading straight towards the robber who was holding the elderly attendant, when, during midflight, he witnessed Osprey leaping into action at the same time. "Wha-" he mouthed just under his breath, midflight, unsure at first if the costumed man was a fellow hero or the robbers' associate/boss. Yeah, what are the odds of two random superheroes answering the same call... he thought, until he witnessed Osprey taunt the robbers. ... Riiight, Freedom City, of course! he mentally facepalmed himself for his own dismissiveness, and continued charging at the lone robber with full haste. "Don't mind if I get them first, friend." he told Osprey.
  4. The world was an immensely enormous place. Of course, during his two years as a student in Claremont Academy, Serge had his fair share of learning just how much that was true. But ever since he graduated, it felt to him as if the world had suddenly expanded to exponential proportions, and a feeling of directionlessness had been haunting him for the better part of the summer. Still, his grades in physics, mathematics, and computer science were plenty more than high enough to warrant him an entrance in the Hanover Institute of Technology, so at least, he had a general idea of where to go to from now on, in regards to his civilian life, at least. As for his superhero carreer, he was currently having his hands full patrolling the streets of Southside. Word on the street did not paint a pretty picture for the area, as aside from the obvious dangers of rampant drug trade, it appeared as things were progressingly deteriorating to a full-blown gang war. Needless to say, such a threat took high priority, and Net Fly was one of the many heroes who had taken the call and pulled double-shifts in Southside. Serge, of course, was unsure where to begin searching, but he knew that if you look hard enough, you are bound to find yourself a head or two that need bashing. Landing on the rooftop of a building near Letterman and Adams, the young hero inspected the area from atop, anxiously gripping his fists, in equal parts of anticipation and fear. Oh, man, it's been five days, and still no sign of criminal activity? There's no way that not even a random theft wouldn't have occured by now... If I didn't know any better, I could have sworn that any criminal element this part of the city may have had, somehow saw the error of its ways and decided to turn a new leaf...
  5. To say that Serge rested well during the night would be a bold-faced lie; the young man had spent the entire time visualising every little bit he knew about their current situation, from their restrainning collars to their surroundings, fevrently trying to piece together a good plan of escape. To his immense disappointment, he could not form a single idea about what they should do to save their lives. It didn't help matters that the oh so helpful peanut gallery was just in the corner of his mind, giving him 'helpful' tips and poking holes on any solution he might have come up. Well, I suppose I should be thankful, all things considered. If I DID keep any of those plans, we'd have ended in tears... Still it wouldn't hurt you to be a bit more nice about things, you know... Serge thought to himself. I don't do nice. And you should eat while you can; it's bad enough that you barely caught a wink, if you don't reign in that stomach of yours, you won't be able to dodge a paper, much less a punch or a death beam. Aw, I never knew you cared. Well, let me put it this way; if you die, you won't be able to enjoy my witty repartie. Hmmm... tempting, but I see your point. Serge viewed his bowl with apprehension. He said to his companions. "You know, for a villainous organization that's went out of their way to keep us safe, I'd expect a more grandiose meal out of them. You know, something to say that yes, our lives are in their hands, but they are confident enough in their hold over us to be able to afford feeding us like royalty. I mean, really, where is the class, people?"
  6. Serge frowned in dejection, as he realised that following his instinct in attempting to make Elias open up to him may not be the best approach. Sighing, he smiled at him and said "Ah, I see. At any rate, if we find some free time later on, we could always hit the arcades, or go to a bowling alley or something. I mean, I may not look it," he jestured, indicating his rather lanky physique "but I DO know my way around a billiard table. Whaddaya say? Come on, it'll be fun!" he said with a light laugh, hoping that this would make his classmate feel more comfortable at the very least, if not making him open up a bit. "Well, what about you, Mali? I'm sure you could give us a helpful pointer or two in the finer art of taking down pins by throwing a rolling ball from a distance!" He said to Mali, inviting her as well, as they made their way around the museum.
  7. After Hronos apologised to Velocity for his rush action in disabling the lock, he followed Velocity inside the dome. Upon learning from the Caretaker that lord Harrow was in good health, he let a sigh of relief. "That is good to hear, at the very least." It still did not answer what the people who kidnapped him wanted to do with Harrow, or at the very least, what they wanted to do with him alive. "Regardless, what you say is correct, and while I have known of the existance of the Null Zone, I have made certain in the past not to venture in this realm, or at the very least, not without having a good reason." Hronos nodded in agreement. To Velocity, he responded. "That is Understood, miss Velocity. The well-being of Lord Harrow has top priority at the moment. Therefore, I will do as you say, for the time being. However,..." Hronos noted, speaking towards the Caretaker. "When you are not otherwise engaged, mister Caretaker, I would ask that you converse with me on a matter regarding the other four Mechanodynames."
  8. GM Post Alex sighed. "I'm sorry, miss Canto. I'm affraid you won't even find a skateboard here, much less a bicycle." He apologised to the reporter. "As for people..." he motioned at 2 men on the staff "Petro and Dennis here will accompany you. They know the land well enough." "You can count on us, too, miss Canto!" Tom interjected. "I agree with Tom on this one, so count me in as well." Angelica added. However, the Captain of the S.S.Gadelica had other thoughts, and she shook her head in disagreement. "Absolutely out of the question; you two had been pulling lookout shifts through the night. You're barely standing as is, your eyes' bags have bags, and you're at peak fatigue. You'll stay here, and you'll sleep it off." "But Captain?!" "NO! William and I will be accompanying miss Canto. The rest of you stay here and guard this place with the staff." the Captain said, with finality.

  10. "Damn... they really got us good, eh?" Serge remarked, as his two friends explained the situation. "At any rate, whether Dr. Sin was really dead or not in the first place, whether he can resurrect himself or not, whether he's immune to dying, or even if it's just a successor of sorts, it matters little to us, at the moment." He said, as he further pondered the situation. "As for your question, Heraldo, I can't seem to get any good ideas that wouldn't result in us suffering an untimely death via explosive decapitation, so I think it best for us to keep our heads about it and not lose them, because, well, yeah..." Though the picture he painted wasn't too graphically pleasing, Serge hoped that it'd deliver the message all the same. "So, yeah. Here's my suggestion; we conserve our energy, as Heraldo's suggesting. Lay low, for now, and play along, until we see where they're going with this, all the while keeping an eye open for any opening or opportunity that we could seize and escape."
  11. Also, apart from the innate powers, does Serge have his suit on, or have they removed it?
  12. Serge had taken the time to examine the collars on Giang and Subito's necks, as they were lead towards their cells. It didn't take too long for him to verify their captor's claims. "Hate to say it, but he's right; These things are the real deal, make no mistake about it. I don't know who our captors are, or what's their score, but they have some serious clout to get their hands on these babies." He examined the cell, in order to get a clear picture of his surroundings, and while it was true that he'd probably be completely unable to do anything worthwile with them at the moment, it always paid to be prepared for any occasion. After he finished, he finally spoke to his comrades. "Sooo... anyone care to explain to me what's going on? I get the feeling I missed a few episodes, here. Just how deep in trouble are we?" he asked, with a slight hint of worry in his tone.
  13. Hearing Smith, Hronos silently nodded his head, and flew above the human's head, making sure to keep an extra eye on him, as well as make sure that no undue harm would come to him. Upon reaching the dome, he smoothly floated downwards, towards the door, and ahead of Smith. He tried opening the door, but it appeared that the lock was engaged. He tried examining it, but it was clear to him that the lock was heavily specialized, and would require a certain amount of expertise that he did not possess. That was when the spark of an idea flashed through his mind. Examining his arm for a second, he extended it towards the lock, and made contact with it. "If my calculations are correct, by touching the lock, I should be able to transfer Time to it, causing the electrons that run through it to accelarate beyond parameters and superheat the device, which in turn should cause the lock to short out." He explained to Smith. "It should not take more than half a minute."
  14. Hronos will Power stunt the following Attack, off of his Chrono-Dimensional Configuration Array: Damage 10 (Extras: Linked[Drain Toughness, Feats: Mighty) + Drain Toughness 14 (Extras: Linked[Damage], Affects Objects, Flaws: Uncontrolled, Feats: Slow Fade) [11 +15 = 26PP] (Chronal Overload) Then, he will attempt to short out the electronic lock, using this power. Toughness vs DC29 Damage Fortitude vs DC24* Toughness (GM's Discretion)
  15. GM Post Alex kept silent for a long time, as he appeared to consider the implication that Acheron had been tampering with demonic knowledge. "I can honestly assure you, miss Carmen, that master Phlegethon never behaved in a weird secretive manner, for as long as I've known him, and trust me, I've known him for many years. He's always been a bit of a recluse, but that's been mainly the case when he's having inspiration." He replied calmly, but there was also still a lot of sadness evident in his voice. "Perhaps, but we don't have any more leads to look into, do we?" Tom uncharacteristically sensibly interjected. "At the very least, we will have eliminated a slew of reasons for the demons' attack here." "That's... not quite true." Billy said, the slightest hint of uncertainty. "We DO have a lead... sort of... well, remember when we said that the demons started disappeared in the morning? They didn't just poof into thin air, nor did they scatter in random directions; they all seemed to escape to the back of the manor." "I tried following them, keeping a safe distance, to see where they were going. It appeared that they were headed for the back of the island." One servant commented. "The back of the island? That's not much of a help; there's nothing there." "Not quite. There's an entrance to a cave, right on a cliff. You can climb down there, though that's a bit dangerous, or you can follow the coast, which leads to a narrow path that connects to the cliff." Another servant explained. "Had Acheron been known to frequent that place?" Angelica asked. "Not really, no. Master Acheron would usually visit the village, when not in the manor. That's the one that's after the church." "He also frequented the woods in the southwest, on the complete opposite direction of the village, but there's nothing there. Only trees." "So... We've got the Cave in the back of the island were the demons may have gone and hidden, St.Blaise Village, this manor, and some random trees on the southwest... Well, it's a start, I suppose..." the Captain mused.
  16. Hronos was thankful that he still could at least detect the chronal anomalies in the Null Zone. Even with Velocity's supernatural speed, they didn't have enough time scouring the place for clues. He too spotted the dinosaurs, who, due to their size, were rather hard to miss. "Unfortunately, I am not aware of the location of the Jurassic Park, but if I am not mistaken by your tone, the implications of that statement are rather unfavorable for us." he commented. Hronos had spent a lot of time learning about places and historical events in Earth, but he had still what could be described as a facile understanding of Earth culture. However, his first-hand knowledge of the ferocious strength a Tyrannosaurus Rex alerted him to the gravity of the current situation they were facing. After considering Velocity's proposal for a momment, he said "That is a reasonable course of action. I will take flight, so that I will be able to maintain a clear field of vision. Should you require assistance, I will be certain to intervene as soon as possible."
  17. GM Post Billy apologized for his goof, but at that point, the proverbial cat had been pretty much dragged out of the bag. Still, the staff had the pressence of mind not to pester her with questions at this point, as more important matters were looming ahead. It took some time until the battle-ready spirits of everyone finally gave way for relief. After a while, they all sat down, and took turns explaining the events that had transpired during the night. The sailors of the boat that had brought Carmen and Billy on the island recounted why they had to turn around; it had been literally physically impossible for the S.S.Gadelica to travel past a certain distance from the island. They had tried a number of different routes, before giving up and returning to the docks. As for the manor servants, they had a tale of their own, involving their frantic attempts to repel the increasingly emboldened demons. A lot of people got hurt in the process, but thankfully, no one died. They also noted that, at around 5:30 to 5:45 in the early morning, the demons appeared to be retreating. After some time, they stopped appearing altogether, and only the hailstorm made noise. "And that, as they say, is that." Alex Movida, the late Acheron's most trusted helper, summarized. "We where weary from the fight, and couldn't stand being awake any longer." Billy added, explaining the condition in which they were found. "Communications with anything outside the island are still down, and while we are all alive, our numbers of able fighters are dwindling. Thankfully, we've got plenty of food here, but that's of little comfort as is. And we still don't know why the demons attacked here, and now, of all times."
  18. Hronos will take 10 on a +14 notice check, for a total of 24. With the range penalties, he'll be able to spot the devices in the dinosaurs as soon as they get within 90 feet of him. Then, when they do get close enough, he will take 10 on a +10 Knowledge (Technology) check, for a total of 20.
  19. Alright, Hronos is gonna use his Chronal Attunement to spot (or at least, attempt to spot) any Chronal irregularities in the area (such as time-travel traces, etc). Excluding himself, Velocity, and John Smith, of course. Super Senses (Time/Temporal Awareness[Mental Awareness], Accurate 2, Acute, Analytical, Counters Concealment 2, Counters Illusion 2, Extended 5[1'000'000ft/189 miles], Rapid 2(x100), Tracking 3; Extras:Linked[Quickness], Feats: Dimensional 3) + Quickness 4(x250; Extras: Linked[super Senses])[22 + 4 = 26PP] (Chronal Attunement) 189 mile radius, x100 Rapid
  20. GM Post The door opened violently, revealing inside a sight that was... unexpected. A lot of people were scattered around the floor. There didn't appear to be any blood on most of them, and even the few who had, appeared to be wrapped in gauzes where the wounds would be. The sound everyone heard was now audible enough to comprehend; several of the staff in this room were snoring. The crewmembers of the S.S.Gadelica felt their breaths returning to them in relief. Too bad they hadn't had time to savor it. "HALT! Who's there?!" One of the servants asked, rifle in hand, as he violently rocked from his sleep. "What's going on?" Another servant went, as he woke up. "Woah, woah, WOAH, EASY! We're humans!" One of the crew tried pacifying them Soon the staff were all up, even the heaviest of the sleepers. They all seemed apprehensive, until someone went "Boss? Is that you?! Hey everyone, it's my boss, miss Canto!!"
  21. Searching doesn't reveal anything of interest, other than the apparent chaos from the battles fought inside the building. Carmen can pick the noise the sailor indicated, but she couldn't, for the life of her, decipher what i actually was she was hearing. It sounded vaguely like something getting sawed off in the distance.
  22. GM Post Everyone felt knots on their stomachs at the mention of the possibility of no survivors to be found. Bob Hobson in particular, the sailor who had tried to offer first aid to Carmen in the warehouse during the night, protested that immediately "Aw, come on! Don't say that! There's bound to be plenty of survivors! In fact, I'd bet that no-one has died at all, thanks to you, miss Canto." he went, unaware of Acheron's death. "Aouch..." A voice inside Carmen went. "Right in the wound, eh Master?" "Well, even if anyone died, I doubt they went down without a fight." Tom Jenkins piped in. "I mean, look at this place! Looks like someone held a small-scale war in here. Maybe they killed all the demonic creatures that were attacking this islandd, and that's why we can't find any." He didn't fail to stiffle a yawn. "... Perhaps... but I'm not exactly thrilled on that prospect. Besides, I wouldn't count us THAT 'lucky' yet. It'd be too random for a bunch of demons to rampage through a small, largely uninhabited island, and then disappear and go down as if they never existed..." Angelica mused. "Oh, quit being such a downer, Angelica... Come on! Let's find some survivors and get the hell out of this island! The sooner, the better, 'fyou ask me." One of the sailors had approached the door leading to the dinning room. He tried listening through it. "Ummm... everyone? Keep your voices down... I think I hear something, but... I can't quite make out what it is..." he cautioned, as he signaled the others to come closer and have a hear.
  23. Hronos regarded the view with what could be described as analytical acknowledgement. There was no wonderment in his stare, but nor was there boredom. Hearing the prehistoric animals gave the Mechanodynamis a pause, before stating "Those... dinosaurs, correct? I recall investigating about them, after the incident of the rampaging Tyranosaurus Rex took place in Liberty Park. They appear to have been displaced, each one from varying time periods. That includes the plant life around us. I believe a lot of these plants have been categorized as extinct, in our timeline of origin, and it would not be unreasonable to conclude tha-..." he stoped. Hronos regarded his feet, and noticed something that was out of place; the plants around his feet were being shredded to bits, and vanishing into thin air. His entire body flared a purple-coloured hue from his eyes and from various joints. The air surrounding him seemed to be moving more violently, and completely out of rythm with the rest of the area. And most concerning of all, his metal plating covering his body featured many spots that appeared dirty. Hronos could sense that the dirt had a weakening effect to his armor. He was rusting... His expression darkening, he informed Velocity and John Smith "... Though I had never before traveled to Null Time, it is as I feared and suspected. We are currently existing in a space were time does not exist, and I house inside me time itself. This peculiarity could be described to cause a similar reaction to having a container with highly compressed air exist in vacuum. Appart from the hazzard to my integrity this situation poses, I would also highly suggest that for the remainder of our stay in Null Time, the two of you keep a safety distance from me at all times." He warned his time-traveling companions
  24. Eidetic Memory Knowledge(Life Sciences) roll: 1d20+4 → [18,4] = (22)
  25. GM Post Phlegethon's Villa 9:12 The hail continued falling, but other than that, silence ruled over the land. Outside of the group, no signs of life could be found, and that included any sort of demonic pressence. It was as if everything in the island had died and vanished, leaving no trace that it ever existed here. As for the villa itself, it was still standing, but it had definitely seen better days. Scratch marks, scorch marks, broken windows, unbolted doors... All signs clearly indicated that something had rampaged through here. Something had come and gone, almost like a bad dream, a nightmare. But whereas a nightmare is usually burried under memories and forgetten after mere moments, this thing lingered, its existance looming threateningly over the current inhabitants of the Riverrock Island. The sailors felt their courage drain slightly at the sight, but they nevertheless kept their nerves steeled, ready to take action. Inside, the building was in a hardly better codition, the marks of fighting evident throughtout the floor, walls, and ceilings. The way to the dinning room had had it the worst, and coutnless charred marks were sprayed around. Thankfully, neither Carmen nor the S.S.Gadelica crew could spot any dead bodies about.
