Hronos nodded at the words of Velocity. "You are correct. I doubt that there is anything more that we could be of help with in this base." turning towards Lvov, the Mechanodynamis added "It has been an honor meeting you, Captain Lvov. I am regretful that events took this unpleasant turn, as the saying goes, for both you and your coworkers. Know, though, that it is my utmost hope that, whatever you are occupying yourselves with, and no matter your current location, you will always be safe and sound." After extending his hand for the costumary handshake, Hronos decided to have a few last words with Velocity, before they part their ways. "What course of action will you be taking from now on, miss Velocity? As far as I am concerned, I intend on further investigating matters regarding these artifacts. The man who was previously in possesion of the artifact I gave you appears to have plenty of first hand experience with its inner workings. He is currently residing in his personal home in Freedom City, on bail. The man named John Smith is certainly insuferrable, but I still think there is plenty to be gained by questioning him."

GM Post The smoke soon overwhelmed the demon, and all of its mouths started coughing furiously, in an attempt to stave off the tar out of whatever passed for its lungs "YOU*COUGHCOUGH* You'll pay fo-kerhak-this-kerhcoughcoughCOUGH!" It tried to say, while all of its legs were wobbling unsteadily. Meanwhile, whilst most of the sailors had fallen on the ground, clutching their ears in pain, some managed to regain their composure, at least, long enough to take aim and fire at the Spidermouth demon. Its erratic maneouvers worked more against its favor, rather than for it, and the shots fired by the Captain, Angelica, and Tom, found their target. One bullet managed to pierce its amorphous exterior, and sent the creature temporarily to its knees. However, while still coughing, it had now managed to regain its composure, up to a certain extent, and was now raring to go.

GM Post Many of the random mouths got distorted into a sadistic grin, and as the demon withdrew its newfound appendages, it started chattering in an insufferably creepy manner. While Carmen remained unnaffected by the demonic powers of the creature, the S.S.Gadelica crew was not so fortunate as her, and the sailors, almost to the man, dropped their riffles and clutched their ears, in a vain attempt to stave off the pain. They felt as if someone was scratching a blackboard with a rasp, and it was a fortunate event that no one could make an audible noise. "KHYAAA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HAAA! That's right, FALL! Soon the only proof of your existance will be serving me faithfully! So why don't YOU just GIVE UP already?!" the demon taunted the agonizing crew members.

GM Post The laughter would not die down, and as if in response to Carmen's fiery outburst, it gained volume and momentum. Mingled in the laughter, the voice, spake in a mocking tone. "The Itsy Bitsy Spider..." Unlike the laughter, that sounded as if it came from many different mouthes, the voice could actually be heard clearly now, and it belonged to a man, probably on his 30s, talking in hushed tones, as one would do when singing a lullaby to put their children to sleep. Changing both its tone and its point of origin completely, the voice continued echoing through the clearing, this time, sounding like a weary old woman "Went up the water spout!" "DOWN! came the RAIN!-AND, washed the spider OUT!" This time, the voice sounded like that of a homicidal maniac, putting an off-key emphasis at words. "Out came the sun, and dried up all the rain" The voice continued, sounding like that of a young girl, and comming from bellow Carmen's feet. "The Itsy Bitsy Spider..." Carmen could hear a low growling voice coming from behind her ears. "Went down the drain againahahaahHAAHAHAHAAA!!!" A giant mass of spherical shape violently errupted from the ground. The only discernible feature it had was that it was full of mouths. Big mouths, small mouths, happy mouths, sad mouths, smilling mouths, frowny mouths, mouths with sharp shark-like teeth, mouths with no teeth at all... "And now, my speechless prey... I shall add your mouths to my collection... after I eat you, of course khyahahahAHAHAHAAHa!!!" All the mouths spoke in unison, and then the sphere developed limbs, using its many mouths as prehensiles. What once looked like a sphere, now gave the impression of a spider, one with 50 legs.

as a non-damaging move that requires a save roll, the Save (whether its Reflex, Will, or Fortitude) is DC10+ranks(So, in your case, it would be DC16). As a PL 10 character, Starchaser can have up to 10 ranks in most of his powers that require a Save by default(there ARE some exceptions, most noteably Move Object and Create Object, which are soft-capped*), and since your Dazzle targets only 1 sense, it is a 1PP/2 ranks(after factoring its flaw), which means that 6 ranks of Dazzle would cost 3PPs, before factoring the Drawback, while 10 ranks of Dazzle would cost 5PPs. Also, in order to Dazzle someone, you'd need to hit them with a Dazzle attack, so you should consider adding 3 ranks of the Accurate feat. You'd actually have enough PPs to remove the flaw completely, or alternatively, add a few power feats like Riccochet, Incurable, Subtle, Progression[Range], and Improved Range(In this case, the save DC would be DC20) Alternate Power: Dazzle 10 (light vision). 1'000-2'500ft; Flaws: Distracting. Feats: Accurate 3, Riccochet, Improved Range 3, Progression[Range], Drawbacks: Power loss: When exposed to daka crystals. [12PPs] Another avenue you could potentially pursue, would be to make your Distracting Dazzle be Perception Ranged, which eliminates the need to attack(so, you wouldn't have to buy accurate for your power). Alternate Power: Dazzle 10 (light vision). Extras: Range[Perception], Flaws: Distracting. Drawbacks: Power loss: When exposed to daka crystals. [9PPs] While you don't necessarily HAVE to meet your caps in powers, it is strongly recommended that you do so, at the very least for character creation, otherwise you would be selling him short. The power, as is in your sheet, is a PL 4.5 equivalent({6[rank]+3[ranged attack]}/2). That means, you'll have trouble dazzling anyone above PL8, much less PL10s(and considering that you'll usually face enemies of a few PL ranks above your own character...). Conversely, the first power above is a PL10 equivalent({10[rank]+10[laser attack]}/2). As such, you'll have a moderate chance of dazzling anyone of a PL10 Anyways, I hope that helps clear things up!

GM Post It took the sailors some time, but they eventually realised what it was that Carmen was gesturing about. One by one, they started heading towards the direction of the monastery, through the same path that Carmen had taken, not too long ago. Soon they were out of sight, leaving only Carmen in the clearing. The hail raged furiously, the wind blew with all its might, trees were shaking and leaves were fluttering... and yet, still no sound could be heard. Two minutes later, one of the Gadelica crew found his way back to the clearing, coming from Carmen's left. Two more sailors returned from her right, and three more from her front. In a minute or so, everyone had found his way back to the clearing, and they were all perplexed by the bizzare outcome. One sailor took it upon herself to run back towards the direction from were she had just arrived, while signaling on everyone else to stay put, only to quickly find herself back from a completely different direction. ------------- Tazel still failed to establish a connection with Carmen. But then, something else happened. "KHYAAA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HAAA!" Everyone looked surprised at the sound of a hideous laughter that echoed throughout the area, comming at once from everywhere and from nowhere. The voice was distorted, and sounded sinister and old, like it belonged to an old witch from folklore.

I have no problem with Collapse either way. He could be an immediate threat, or a distant pressence, his shadow looming just a bit over the edge of the scenes. The ATU was an agent sent by one of them time police organizations that oppose Collapse, correct? I would suggest we deal with them first. They are bound to send more agents our way, regardless of our timelines(and they may even decide getting cute with us, by sending more agents at a further point to our past, if they haven't already done so).,,, so, yeah.

GM Post Carmen spoke to the Gadelica crew, and the crew talked back to her. She noticed something weird though. Their voices couldn't reach her. Far more worrying, was the fact her own voice couldn't reach her either. As she made her way to the monastery, she found that her path was blocked by a thick concentration of trees. The trees twisted and turned as she passed through them, and she continued walking for a couple of minutes, after which she found herself facing the S.S.Gadelica crew again, only this time, she had reached them from the rear of their formation, which was in the opposite direction from which she had left them. Tazel, of course, took it upon himself to speak to Carmen, in his usual mocking tones. ------------- However, the imp found that even his thoughts couldn't reach his master, much to his utter frustration.

GM Post Soon the S.S. Gadelica crew, with the support of Carmen, exited the warehouse by the pier, and headed towards the villa. Everyone kept their riffles trainned, and remained under combat readiness at all times. Still no sign of the demonic creatures could be found, aside from faraway cries and screams that sounded otherworldly. Tom Franken kept a worrying look, as he tried to scour the place for any sudden movements. That the hailstorm was causing every plantlife to engage in sudden movements didn't help his mood at all. "Is it just me, or does anyone else feel more worried that we don't encounter any more of those hellish pests?" Another sailor by his side, one the group had referred to as Angelica, previously, nodded in agreement. "Hate to say it, but Franken's got a point. Whatever these creatures are, they've been far too indiscriminate in their display of power so far, for them to suddenly keep mum." "You think there's something afoot, Theodine? I mean, more than what already's going on?" The Captain asked Angelica. "I dunno... Whatever it is, I think we should hurry up and-" As the group passed near the crossroad that led to the abandoned village, a light could be seen at the distance, coming from the direction of the monastery. More worryingly, while the hailstorm continued to fall, more furiously than ever, no sound could be heard...

"While the incident itself bears some concern, it is a good fact to learn about the safety of Lord Harrow." Reforming his arms back to their original shape, Hronos spoke to Velocity about Boris, explaining to her the situation on his end. "This man identified himself to me as Russian Military, Spetznas. I understand that is a branch of Russian special military operations. Regardless, he explained that he wished to secure the fragment exlusively on the behalf of his country, ignoring my warnings in the process, and displaying dangerous levels of fanaticism, indicating that he would not be averse to sabotaging efforts on your end. I have been trying to subdue him while avoiding to hurt him, but his military trainning proved impressive enough to give me a fair amount of trouble." Sighing, Hronos slumped his metalic shoulders. Turning his enhanced senses back on, Hronos entrusted the piece he held up until now to Velocity, took flight, and followed the trail of the last piece. "Hold this fragment then, Velocity. I will proceed to recover the stolen artifact. In the meantime, if you can spare some time before you check on the welfare of the scientists, I would ask that you ensure the Spetznas is properly secured; my beam will wear off any second now, and when it does, he will resume control of his motor functions."

Classic music, eh? Serge thought to himself, after accidentally overhearing the two girls talk. Heh, might be nice. Romeo and Juliet, huh?... Now that I recall, I really enjoyed the song 'What is a Youth', from Franco Zeffirelli's film version. It had an ethereal yet sad tune to it... now, how did it go... the young teen mused, as he tried to bring the memory of the song back to mind. What is a youth? Impetuous fire. What is a maid? Ice and desire. The world wags on. He sang in his mind, letting a few hums escape him. A rose will bloom. It then will fade. So doooooes a youth... So doooo-o-o-o-o-o-o-oes the fairest maid. After a small pause, he gave up ... Yeeeah, I only remember up to this point. Snapping back to reality, Serge found himself staring pointlessly in the distance. Realising that he might have looked awkward, he apologised, and giving a sheepish smile, Serge turned at his fellow schoolmates. "Hehe, sorry, wandered off to my little world, again, didn't I?" he said, as he stepped into the train along with the rest of the group.

Regaining sight of his surrounding and his current situation, Hronos was too late to stop Boris from firing at velocity, but he was thankful that the shot missed by a wide margin. The Mechanodynamis put his robotic arms together, and aimed them at the Spetznas. The arms started melding together, transforming, and taking the shape of a large cannon. It took a moment to gather enough energy, but that moment was all it took for Hronos to fire a purple beam at Boris. "I would greatly appreciate it if you ceased and desisted firing at anyone, sir Russian Military Spetznas." he exclaimed, as the beam found its mark, slowing Boris down to a crawl, until the man was rendered immobile. "How is your situation, Miss Velocity? Am I correct to assume that you have, as the saying goes, run into some sort of trouble?" He then shouted at Velocity. No hint of chuckle escaped his robotic mouthpiece. "Is there anything I can do to be of service to you?"

Hronos will use Deccelerator Blaster on Boris, DC Shifted, as a Full Round Action 1d20+8 → [18,8] = (26) Reflex save vs Paralyze DC22

Hronos was understandably puzzled by the sight before him, or rather, by the lack of it. Certainly, it could very well be the result of some kind of optical illusion, but considering the circumstances he was currently involved in, this didn't look like mere situational happenstance. While his opponent was also puzzled by this event, Hronos turned down his temporal boost in physical prowess, and activated his sense of Chronal Attunement, which would not only grant him the ability to pinpoint any chronal anomalies in the area, but also, it would let him process information at a significantly faster pace. With a simple thought, the Essence of Time obliged him, granting him this supernatural sense, and as it did, things slowed down as Chronos managed to better focus his attention on the flurry of snow, through his now-purple-glowing visor.
-
The force of the impact did make Hronos roll his head backwards, but after a moment, he slowly lowered it back to position, starring right in the eyes of Boris. The bullet didn't penetrate his exoskeleton, but the force of the impact had actually caused his systems to go temporarily offline, and while at first glance, he appeared to have been completely unaffected, a closer look at the lack of light in his visor betrayed the truth, that Hronos lost consciousness, or as close an analogue could be achieved by a being of robotical structure. The light didn't take too long to reappear, and after shaking his head swiftly, in order to shake the feeling of disorientation he experienced, Hronos started reassessing the situation with the Russian soldier. This situation is only going to get worse, as more time ellapses. I cannot prioritise his peaceful surrender any longer; I will have to resort to offensive means of subduation. He pondered in the miniscule nanoseconds it took to him to re-evaluate his current predicament.

Hronos Saves: 1d20+10 → [17,10] = (27) And he saves. He will spent the HP to fight off the Fatigue, and then he will intimidate Boris 1d20 → [1] = (1)

"You do not even begin to comprehend the meaning of the word 'Excessive', human soldier." Hronos responded, his patience with the stuborn Spetznas starting to wear thin. "If words won't convince you to stay your hand, I will have to resort to louder means, as the human saying states." Hronos started glowing, as the Essence of Time blessed him with the strength of a thousand selves, all concentrated at one point; the point that Hronos was currently occupying. Using his enhanced, modified rotors, the mechanical being made an attempt to grab the vehicle behind which Boris had taken refuge, and use it to pin him immobile on the spot. Unfortunately, he miscalculated the strenght required to lift the truck, putting much more effort than needed, and causing him to lose footing. Hronos struggled to find his balance back, and attempted to use the vehicle again, but this time, he went too far the opposite direction, not putting enough strenght, and causing the vehicle to spiral out of his control, thus ruining his attempt to pin Boris down.
