Hronos made sure to board the Pegasus as quickly as possible. There, when he was greeted by the woman named Velocity, he ordered his handshake. "Velocity of the Freedom League... Indeed, I have heard of those names, both yours and the group with which you are affiliated. The citizens I have met speak of the Freedom League with the highest praises, it appears, and that includes your name. It is a pleasure to make your aqcuaintance, Velocity. I am called Hronos, a Mechanodynamis and Holder of the Essense of Time." "I apologize for requesting to board your vehicle in such a manner." Hronos apologized, and took out the mysterious fragment he carried on his person. "The reason is that I am currently investigating a signal emanating from a location to the South from our current position. The signal appears quite similar to the one originating from this particular crystal that I aqcuired some time ago. I have reason to believe that the crystal allows for large-scale time/space manipulation, though the finer workings of the crystal elude me. I also became aware of another signal, this one coming from within this vehicle. I was, therefore, hoping that you would allow me to investigate the premices." The Mechanodynamis tried to explain, in as few words as he could muster.

GM Post Billy of course had intended to follow Carmen's orders; the woman had already saved his life, and had thus far proved herself capable of dealing with the demons and handling the situation, putting Acheron's death aside. Even then, he understood that the creatures were ruthless as they were strong, and he couldn't expect Carmen to always have the answer to everything, though right now, he hoped to dear god that she did. However, the matter of the fact is that, upon the gunshots, and alongside Carmen, everyone else had rallied themselves to stand up, readied their arms once again, and rushed towards the source of the sound. Billy counted his options, and he decided that, at the moment, the large group of people armed to the teeth, and the woman who could summon fire and brimstone to do battle with demons, was the safest place for him to be. "Sorry, Boss... Guess I'll be sticking with you yet more." It took less than a minute for the group to scale the stairs and arrive at the now silent room that Acheron's body was. There, in front of it, Alex, his face unmoving as a stone, stared pointlessly ahead, while holding a more relaxed pose. His breathing was light, but his sigh was heavy. He was alive, and relatively unharmed. Next to him, a patch of burnt floor. A few feet away, a smaller patch, vaguely resembling a long item. No sign of the Dreadknight's body, nor of his sword. Everyone fell silent at the sight. Billy knew what had transpired with the owner of the villa, but he decided that now was not the time for him to speak. After a few moments, Alex acknowledged everyone else currently in the third floor.

Hronos had been aware of the approaching signal, but he still wasn't expecting for it to arrive just next to him, nor that it would arrive emanating from inside a plane. I had intended to investigate this source after the last one, but seeing as it arrived next to my position, it would be prudent to take advantage of this opportunity and investigate. he thought. Turning slightly sideways, so that he could face the plane's pilot, Hronos approached the cockpit from the front, extended a hand to draw his attention to him, and indicated backwards of the pilot, as a sign that he wished to board on the plane. I do not know for sure, whether the plane will aqcuiesce at my request, but hopefully, I will not have to use force in order to investigate for the signal.

"Of course, El Heraldo. You don't have to say that again!" Net Fly nodded in agreement. Diving towards the ground, Net Fly said. "Time is of the essence, we'll have to hurry! I'll be going ahead, see if I can get anyone out in time." Having his feet to the ground, he started accelerating. While Net Fly could cross the skies on a moderately high speed by manipulating vibrations around his body to keep afloat, it was ultimately his leg muscles enhanced by vibrations and kicking off ground, that which allowed him to achieve speeds comparable to high-performance Formula One cars. And while he found flying more relaxing and utilitarian, this situation called for speed of action, something which Net Fly was all too willing to provide. It only took a few mili-seconds for the hero to accelerate to his top speed and transform into a streak of GREY and BLUE! So long as I keep an eastward direction, and my eyes open for smoke, I should be fine locating the source of distress. he mused to himself.

Hronos pondered for a few milliseconds the meaning behind the second signal moving towards the city. Hmmm... I was not expecting the other signal to move... especially not towards this location. Are the signals connected? Are they drawn to one another?... hmmm... maybe... in fact, it would not be unreasonable to suspect that the same applies to the crystal I possess. At any rate, it matters little at this point in time. Whatever the case may be, I suspect I will be finding out soon enough, one way or another. The mechanical Hronos sped up towards his destination. He had been flying for quite some time now, and he wondered how far the signal's location was from his position.

GM Post Nodding at Carmen, Alex staggered slowly towards his rifle, picking it up while clutching and massaging his head, in order to lessen the headache he was experiencing, and pointed the weapon at the heavily wounded demon. The Dreadknight eyed the man scornfully, while the valet examined the demon without a trace of emotion in his face, at least, not a readable one. The Dreadknight stood up, fighting back the leak from his chest wound. Alex kept the rifle trainned at the demon's head, his face remaining emotionless. The Dreadknight smiled, showing a toothy grin. "... tarRo... U GNU potASH... MASak." Phlegethon Villa 00:46 Carmen could hear the gunshots from the rifle be accompanied by demonic shrieks, and while the humans shouted directions at each other, no signs of them screaming out of pain could be discerned. By the time she reached the first floor, things quieted down drastically. A few steps farther, and she could see the staff, and Billy, who was unharmed, either slumping on the floor or standing against the walls in an attempt to catch their breaths, as the characteristic dark flame that surrounded the Hellstingers and the Dreadknights vanished into nothingness, an indication that the demons had been dealt with. Billy greeted Carmen, as soon as he noticed her. "Yo, boss! Everything alright up there?" The rest of the staff murmured a bit, some of them trying to find their strength in order to get up, climb the stairs, and rush to Acheron's aid. "How's lord Acheron?" "Wasn't that lady going up to lend a hand?" "D'you think she got scared and ran away." "Nah, I don't think so... I mean, listen, d'you hear that?" Dead silence reigned, the only audible noise, aside from heavy breathing, was the hail as it violently struck the roof and the windows, creating a reverbrating sound. Everyone could finally take a sigh of relief; the worst seemed to have pas- ***BAUUUMM*** -the sudden noise of gunfire woke everyone into alert, as they looked around to see from whence the shot was fired, in case another demon was within the area. ***BAUM*BAUM*BAUM*** Another three successive shots, and everyone could tell that they were coming from above.

GM Post The black spear pierced the demon's armor and sternum with so much force, that it exited the Dreadknight's body from the other way, and got lodged in the wall behind. Dropping it's sword, the creature coughed its demonic blood, its eyes unfocusing as it clenched its chest, trying frantically to graps for air, while the dark flame flickered furiosly. Its struggle to breath caused the creature to swallow blood both into its stomach and its lungs, leaving it unable to even make an audible noise, much less scream. Buckling on its knees, the Dreadknight layed there, in front of Carmen, all but defeated. Alex had regained his senses, by now, and he witnessed Carmen mercilessly skewer that thing that caused him, Acheron, and Alvaro so much trouble mere moments ago, while barely breaking a sweat doing so. That trully is no ordinary woman... he thought, equal parts of dread and awe taking over him.

GM Post "... Grrr... Grok Kalak saCKteN ErgOSt, GAlak. atamAV Sakoth SKard, Tookal BarsEc!" The demon thrashed and growled, and finally, after some struggle, he managed to break free. By that time, Billy had reached for the stairs, and turning briefly around, he shouted at Carmen. "HEY BOSS! GIVE HIM A GOOD THRASHING!" and with that, he started descending the stairs. From there, he could see the rescue team struggling against some Hellstingers, and gulping, in order to brace himself, readied his rifle and headed towards the fight. An evil smile appearing on the Dreadknight's restored mouth, he left a roaring laugh, as he headed towards Carmen. Seeing her pick up her stick, the demon taunts "Maak KAlakraJUK sokanth. Stuck between two possibilities, Hronos needn't give this occasion much thought, in order to decide what to do; both signals had equal priority, and since investigating them at the same time was impossible to him, Hronos decided to check the signal that appeared stronger to him. Taking flight, the mechanical being known as Hronos sought the source of the second resonance he picked up. Ever since he woke up from his millenias of slumber, he had found himself inexplicably drawn to Freedom City, in part because the place seemed to attract all sorts of trouble, in part because his powers had been greatly diminished, including his speed, and in part because... well, he wasn't sure why, but he had a weird feeling regarding this city, beyond the colorful sorts of people who frequented it, or the seemingly outwordly crimes that occured. And then there was John Smith. Hronos understood the man's intentions very well, and if the circumstances had been different, he would have gladly agreed to let him change time, and bring his beloved wife and clan from their original time to the current one. However, John Smith's meddling with the timestream left it completely unharmed. Hronos didn't need to give it much thought to surmise that, whatever John Smith was trying to achieve, was doomed to failure. That in his endeavors, he needlessly and haphazardly put the lives of outsiders and innocents in danger didn't help matters, thus leading to the two of them, John Smith and Hronos, inevitably coming to blows. And now... Hronos followed the lead emanating from the mysterious jewel he aqcuired from John Smith. Where it would lead him, Hronos wasn't sure. But he sensed that trouble was on the way, and he had the knowing of that fact. My first priority is investigating the disturbance in the south, then. The Mechanodynamis thought to himself.

In fact, you can edit your first post, using the full editor, in order to add/modify tags! You need to press comma even if you don't intend on writting another tag. When you press comma, the tag will appear enclosed by a rectangle, indicating that the tag has been created successfully Also, if you hit space between two words, with no comma in between, and input the comma after the second word, the tag will be comprised of the two words together (Typing ''Claremont Academy, Errant, New York,'' for example, would create the tags: Claremont Academy Errant New York ) Hope this all helps

GM Post The demon let out a horrible scream, as the pointy end from the spear that materialized in Carmen's hand was forcefully driven inside his shoulder, puncturing it and causing the Dreadknight to lose his balance. The demonic creature fell on its legs, further weighted down by the chains, and was wildly grasping for room to breath. The dark flame aura that surrounded him reacted wildly, in conjuction with the demon's pain, but that was all just for show; Carmen had gotten the demon good, and now the abominant monster was well and trully at Carmen's mercy. The creature started realising that it was neither fluke nor entirely empty boasting, the fact that this woman made a regular job out of dealing with demons. Still, the Dreadknight was yet far from giving up, and he wasn't planning to go down without a fight.

GM Post The demon was caught, both by surprise and by the metal chains Carmen's attack produced, and while it struggled to let itself loose, the Dreadknight could not break the chains, managing only to loosen a few of the metal links. The creature thrashed about, while spouting curses in its native language, that Tazel, for once, wisely decided to leave utranslated, lest he face the wrath of his master. He did, however, translate the part that said "Adhjeh e oife oif IEKEL. Drgja, ffdjro GAlak, morgorn ORbal sakHett Ylubna." It was, given the circumstances, as one might have gathered, pretty empty for a threat, but one might also feel inclined to hand the demon points, if not for nothing else, for effort and flair. Still, Billy wasn't said one, instead preferring to follow Carmen's advice on getting the hell out of dodge. Not that he'd be able to understand the demon if he had stayed, mind, but he might have gotten the general intent.

Being able to take a hit and dish out punishment, while also having the ability to fly, is the golden standard by which all Superheroes are judged. However, for all their strenght, they lack extensive trainning in properly utilising their body to its utmost potential, and as a result, whenever they are denied their powers, they become punching bags even for martial artists. Taking inspiration from Dragonball's Son Gohan's super-heroic identity, the Great Saiyaman, who was a combination of parody of the Sentai genre(visually speaking, at least) and drawing inspiration from Superman, the Superhuman Costumed Martial Artist greatly mitigates that problem, by being adept enough at fighting even without any of his powers, and as an added bonus, whenever he fights at full strength, he is a force to be reckoned with. He could either be an alien with inborn powers, or a human that was somehow bestowed said powers, but the fact is that the SCMA trained for the better part of his life, not as an after-thought, and as a result, he can go toe-to-toe with the baddest, meanest menaces out there. His powers greatly enhance his ki, and he is able to put it to good use in either empowering his strength, or directing it outwardly in the form of energy blasts and beams. Very skilled, his trainning focuses on his acrobatic capabilities, and his concentration is top-notch. While most of the time he prefers to talk things out, if the occasion arises, he can instead exude a powerful aura of Ki that enhances his pressence and acts as a warning sign to would be attackers. His is incredibly fast, and can do tons of heavy lifting, and while he can tank hits like most Flying Bricks, he lacks the innate protection against lesser forms of damage, and prefers to avoid hits when possible. Finally, even without his superhuman powers, the SCMA has close to olympic-level-athlete physical capabilities. Additional Notes:  Instead of being inately superhuman, the Superhuman Costumed Martial Artist could instead emphasize his Sentai roots more, rather than his Superman ones, by having all of his powers be part of a power-costume. Another option would be to make all of his physical abilities be enhanced, instead. Adding that Enhanced Strenght inside his power array would also increase the potential for his other powers  Yet alternatively, one could axe everything but his Enhanced Strenght and Flight. Finally, you could reduce his skills and Feats by 5 points each, removing things such as Stealth, Diplomacy, Knowledge [Tactics], Evasion, Fearless, and Grappling Finesse. Adding Impervious Toughness would further accentuate SCMA's Flying Brick Roots. Adding more Feats, on the other hand, would serve towards giving the character a greater repertoire outside of his powers.

GM Post The metal skewered the demon, who wrothe in pain, as it prepared itself to cut down the artist. Instead, it found itself consumed in the dark flame, like the Hellstingers, as it drew its last breath. As for the flame itself, though, it remained, rather than vanish, and the Dreadknight whose jaw had been blown off, extended his arm at it, absorbing its essence unto his own, healing him, and visibly growing in muscle size, while doing so. "HeqqUeTH Haddosk RIMulba, Uhusta. Tor NAMie, ezzeTO garsk matLIgn issat Romk." Fully rejuvanated, the Dreadkinght attempted to raise his sword arm and deliver a punishing blow at Carmen. However, for the merest of seconds, his eyes glew brightly dark, and instead, he punched Carmen's gut. The attack merely took the woman by surprise, but it was all the demon needed to run towards Acheron, and deliver his sword unto the musician's chest. "WriGo Sukha muraK, GAlak! Nasen tarRi iken GNU potASH MASak" Billy, though terrified, gulped down and tried to fire with the rifle at the demon. His hand was too unsteady, unfortunately, and his arms were not used to the recoil, making the shot miss by a wide margin. "Oh god, oh god, oh GOD!" he kept muttering.

Right, sorry, my mistake. The staggered demon A was the one close to Pitch, not Acheron. Anyways. 1d20+5 → [2,5] = (7) ... I rolled for damage, forgetting that he is immune to fire, as noted in >this post, and its character sheet(Demon Warrior, Core Rules, p233). Disregard the roll. The demon survives unharmed. Do you wish to try extraordinary effort for an extra attack, instead? EDIT: After clearing it up, the attack is effective. The dreadknight is unconscious. GM FIAT: The Dreadknight A becomes fully healed, and gains 3 PLs (+3 attack/defense/saves/dmg) Pitch will need to roll a Knowledge(Arcane Lore) vs DC20, helped by a Sense Motive vs DC20

GM Post Even though hurt, the Dreadknight had recovered enough of his strenght to avoid the shot, and return the favor to Carmen. He managed to bring down his sword, but the reeling pain caused him to wobble and misstep, thus missing his mark completely. Still, the demon was too strong and combat ready for Billy's taste, and the young man decided to take some safe distance, especially after seeing the second Dreadknight recover and fume in anger. "Sah GraHAK mala EST, Morf GAlak! Kano DRA shEiN vla MiksHja haDOSK mBAk!..." It furiously spat in its infernal language, as it ran towards Alex and hit him with the flat side of his sword. The valet found himself flying towards the wall, whereupon he crashed with might, and he could only muster a groan before falling unconscious. Indicating Acheron, the demon said "Todek sukh HAI", and lifted his sword as he prepared to deliver the coup de grace.
