Based on Nero, the protagonist of the Devil May Cry 4 game, this build represents a demon hunter, someone whose job is to hunt demons, who himself has some demonic power imbued in him, usually manifesting in a extra phantom arm. Why does he have that arm? Perhaps he was born with demonic blood flowing through his veins, or perhaps he was a victim of unholy experimentation. Whatever the case, he employs the arm to grapple and bring foes away from him to close range, where he can pummel them at his own leisure, or keep them far away and occupied, while he takes care of another threat. He is equipped with the Tri-Morphing Arma, a versatile and highly magical transforming weapon, that can change it's shape to the powerful Durandal Red Rose, the accurate and fast firing Revolver Blue Rose, and the demonic Katana Yamato, which temporally enhances his demonic powers by transforming into a powerful protective aura shaped as a ghostly knight. When thus transformed, the Demon Hunter is incredibly fast and impervious to all lesser forms of damage, and not only does his phantom arm becomes extremely powerful, he also gains a second equally powerful one. The Demon Hunter with Phantom Arm is extremely agile and maneouverable, and while he lacks a hard crowd control attack, he can compensate due to his trainning. Very skilled and elusive, he fights as if possessed, preferring to stick close to his foes and performing high speed combos, while using them as a shield against incoming ranged attacks. He greatly favors dodging over taking hits, though he's not entirely frail, and even when immobilised, he can still maintain enough concentration to roll with the damage, most of the time. Particular areas of expertise include knowledge of the arcane, insight to peoples' (and demons') character, and an uncanny ability to fast talk or taunt his enemies. His favored tactic is unloading fire to his enemies from a distance, until he is within range to continuously rush them with charging sword attacks. Additional Notes:  As you can see, while Nero's weapons are all indistinct between them, I chose to have them all folded under one weapon, with the property that it morphs itself. That is because, with perhaps the sole exception of the Devil Trigger transformation brought about by Yamato, he couldn't be using both weapons at once. It was thus a necessary concession in order to save PPs. Some major reworking would be required, in order to leave the Yamato and the Blue Rose/Red Queen seperate. Halving their respective ranks by cutting back on extras/power feats and the like, removing a few feats such as Elusive Target or Taunt, lowering Abilities(Particularly, Strength, by 10 ranks), etc. Originally, Yamato was going to be portrayed by the use of Boost. Instead, I opted for the simpler Enhanced Trait format, adding the Duration and Fades flaws to represent a temporary burst of power. Since the Fading powers are linked, all powers stop working as soon as the first power loses its PPs completely (5 rounds).
  4. GM Post At Carmen's command, the Hellstinger quietly obliged, attacking its kin with its deadly stinger. It struck true, but due to both demonic creatures floating in air, it lacked the necessary pressury to injure its former comrade. The two remaining Hellstingers flew eratically, as another black flame claimed an ally of theirs. Once again, returning at Carmen, whose movements had turned sluggish enough, they both managed to land a hit, and while the woman was able to deflect one stinger, the second found a soft spot in her left arm, just bellow the shoulder, were it drove its stinger. Like a bee's stinger, the sharp object got lodged in her arm, leaving a hole in the demonic bug's bulb, that sprung another stinger almost immediately. "... ! Ahh?! Boss! Are you alright?" Billy inquired, once he realised that Carmen had been wounded. Emboldened by their achievement, their first 'real victory' during this so far catastrophic for them encounter, the Hellstingers buzzed in gleeful joy and glutonous voraciousness.

  7. GM Post One of the remaining Hellstingers fell to the commanding power of the Cantos Devil Stick that Carmen held, seemingly completely immobile and mesmerized by it at the time, while the others, feeling that their comrade turned unresponsive, started buzzing furiously and around the area in fervor. taking their distance, they all lunged together at Carmen, each from a different angle, with their spear-like stings primed for causing the maximum amount of damage possible. Only one managed to catch her off-guard, and while it did land it's stinger, it was at such an awkward angle, that Carmen's iron skin not only deflected it, but she even bent it, causing a dull hollow sound as it did, and eliciting shrieks of pain from the creature.

  10. GM Post The punch pierced the bug's sternum and cracked it open, causing a green slime to drip downwards, as the bug fell to the floor. The dark flame that not minutes ago protected the Hellstinger now greedily consumed the unfortunate demon as if it was a parasite feeding on its host. Soon, there was nothing left to even suggest the evidence of such a creature... that is, aside from the other four Hellstingers that were still alive and kicking, once again trying to hold Carmen for the last one to make its move, their dwindling numbers doing them no favors as they tried that simple set up. "Hell YEAH!" Billy shouted in enthusiams, not caring anymore how Carmen dealt with the demon, but merely that she did, and will continue doing so. "Go on and sock 'em, Boss!" He cheered her on.

  12. The attack succeeds. Demon #3 is unconscious.
  13. GM Post The fire engulfed the demonlings, but as soon as it made contact, the dark flame that surrounded them glowed intensly, to the point of being called bright, if not for the fact that it was dark. The flame shielded the insectoid demons from Carmen's fiery breath, absorbing it and dissipating it. However, the fire did serve at ticking them off, as they now buzzed more furiously; Carmen had registered herself as a serious threat to them, and the demons, while fairly simpleminded to the point of relying on one tactic only, were still a dangerous threat, by dint of fact that it was one damn well effective tactic. Thus, once again, they surrounded Carmen, this time three of them succeeding on holding her in place, letting the last one to try its luck at injuring the woman, this time on her belly. Meanwhile, Billy from inside the room was left with his mouth agape "... What?" So much so, that all sense of fear had abandoned him, and replaced with befuddlement.

  19. GM Post Billy froze for a moment and stared at Carmen's determined look. Deciding that whatever the demons could wrought to him would pale by comparisson to what she might do to him in her current mindframe, he followed suit and jumped inside her room. The Hellstingers buzzed and flew around Carmen, their piercing stingers emitting hypersonic sounds in anticipation. A few made false dives, missing Carmen on purpose, and one even thrashed an ornamental table with a flower vase on it. "FOUND IT!" Billy shouted, as he threw the cane to Carmen's hands. The young photographer was still unclear as to what was going on, and especially on what Carmen's plan was. "Uhhh... Boss? What should I... uhhh..." Billy's terrified voice could scarcely be heard over the ruckus the demons were raising, as the hailstorm outside continued to rage on. The Hellstingers were already done toying. Four of the Hellstingers surrounded Carmen, and tried to sink their demonic feet on her arms and legs, in an effort to immobilize her for the fifth Hellstinger. Two of them succeeded, managing to keep her left arm and right leg in place, and the last Hellstinger took the opportunity to dive at her in full force, aiming it's hellish sting straight at the woman's heart.
  20. 5 Hellstingers ( Demon, Imp PL 5 / Minion Rank 6 from Core Book, pg 233) Knowledge (Arcana) Check Results: Hellstingers are mindless low ranking flying demons that appear and attack in groups. Their existance in the material plane is usually the result of a high level demon entering the mundane world, but stray groups finding their way to the material plane by accident or happenstance is not unheard of. There's rumored to be a surefire way to know for certain which is the case.
  21. GM Post Tazel only muttered a few words in Latin, before being swallowed up. The hallway teamed with four infernal creatures that looked like giant hornets, the size of a human hand, only their wings were bat-like, and an aura of a dark flame surrounded them. Carmen recognized them as Hellstingers, mindless low ranking flying demons that appear and attack in groups. Their existance in the material plane is usually the result of a high level demon entering the mundane world, but stray groups finding their way to the material plane by accident or happenstance is not unheard of. Carmen vaguely recalls that there's a surefire way to know for certain which is the case, but she can't recall more than that. Billy's cries could still be heard from the room, but there was no indication that he was hurting. Yet. The door was teared open, though. No longer did Carmen spotted the infernal Hellstingers, Billy Blooms came out of the door, running and dodging as a fifth Hellstinger dived for his back. "BOSS!!!? QUICK! GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!" he said, running towards her direction. No other person in the villa seemed to notice, but then again, their rooms were far far away, whilst Carmen's had been next door.
  22. Pitch gains a Hero Point for Twisted Tongues Complication
  23. GM Post "... But of course... Maaaaaster..." the infernal being slurred, as a devilish thought entered its mind. "And I'll make sure to leave Billy alone, as you commanded..." Thunder roared in the distance. The sky had been completely filled with clouds, and soon it started rainning, first a few droplets, before slowly building up to a barrage. Most of the rooms had been well-soundproofed, but even so, the rain had turned into a hailstorm, and the force of impact made a subtle, yet audible noise reverberate inside the room. Physical fatigue didn't take long to turn this into a white noise for Carmen... Phlegethon Villa 00:37 "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" Loud noises emanated from the room next door, thrashing of furniture and screams of panic. "HEEEEEELP!!!! HEEEEELP MEEEEEEEE!!!!" came the distressed and desperate voice of Billy, giving the impression of a man running for his life. For his part, Tazel remained dutifully motionless, his stare keeping an intent watch for any trouble that might enter the room and cause trouble for his master. He appeared to pay no heed to Billy's cries for help.
  24. "Please... Don't even joke about it, Heraldo." Net Fly chastised his friend and comrade Subito, also known as El Heraldo. "Just because we've trained to handle and subdue petty crooks doesn't mean we should relax our guard, even for a second. The Blue Dame may watch over you and make sure that no harm comes to you, but me, Tsunami, and Warp, don't have that luxury, and even if our enemies are untrained, it only takes a bit of bad luck for disaster to strike. Also, while you can handle street punks with aplomb and ease, you should never let up, lest they turn their attentions and malice to whatever stray civilian may happen to wander on the scene at that time..." Net Fly sighed, as he ascended quite a bit, to take a better look of the area around them, before descending back between Heraldo and Warp. "Sorry. Didn't mean to take it out on you, bro. Ever since the beating I took last month I've been on the edge all the time. If Warp here hadn't been there to watch my back and save my sorry butt from the fire, I'd have been one squashed little bug on someone's wall." Net Fly apologised. Turning his attention to Kat and Giang, Serge said. "So, find anything on your end, you two?"
  25. GM Post "HAHAHAHA! Oh, maaaan, you don't let up, do you, miss Canto?" Acheron burst out laughing, giving Carmen a loud clap as well. "But it's getting late. I think it would be best if we wrapped this up here for now, and leave more questions for tomorrow. Don't forget, you're welcome to stay here as long as you need, and I've also made arrangements with your chief editor, mister Jimmy 'Jangle' Jones, so you don't have to worry about meeting deadlines or payment. However, there IS one question of yours that I owe you, and I think I'll be answering it right now; what's my new album about." Acheron looked as if on a trance, when he talked. When he finished, accounting the story, he said. "Well, that's the gist of it, anyways. Still a work in progress. Heh, I guess you may note there's even some similarities between the son's story and mine, what with tragedy defining us both and seeking solace in isolation, but whereas I find freedom, what the son finds is a prison. Or something like that..." The staff already up, they had emptied the table completely. "At any rate, that's all for now. I think I'll let you two give the story some thought, and tell me your opinions tomorrow. Truth be told, I'm kinda sleepy. Well, Have a good night!" Phlegethon Villa 21:25 Carmen and Billy had withdrawn in their personal quarters for the night. However, as Carmen was gathering her thoughts and getting ready for the night, a chilling sense climbed up to her spine, and a nasal laughter echoed inside her head. Heee hee hee hehehehe! Oh, master! Getting ready to sleep by now? Aren't you afraid that the demons inhabiting this island will attack you on your sleep? It would be such a terrible pity, if you died, master! Whatever would I be to do, without your abominable company? Oh, oh, I know! Perhaps that coworker of yours, Bloomy Bills, would provide me with enough amusement...
