Serge's allies failed to even register a hit against Expiostinot, one by one. Even Marcus, who managed to hit the mad professor square on his chest didn't seem to phaze him much, as the kick didn't even make him flinch. Net Fly wanted to try his best, wanted to at least knock Expiostinot's wind out of him, if only for a little more. Alas, he as well was met with failure, as his tiredness, that had managed to overtake him by now, made him overshoot the beam he was charging on his chestphone, even from pointblank range. His vision becoming blurry, and panting heavily, Net Fly muffled a "Do-hah,hah, don't let up!... hah, hah." in the vain hopes of encouraging his allies.

taking a full round action to perform Sonic Beam, using All-Out Attack... 1d20+6 → [6,6] = (12) disappointing. Serge is at a -3 Defence.

"Hehey! Great to hear that! Too bad that Kristin won't be joining us, but I'm sure she'll be making an excellent addition to the Irregulars. I mean, yeah, sure, we did get off on a bumpy start, and make no mistake, I will make the rest of your life a living nightmare if I so much as suspect that you tell her anything about this, but the truth is, she is fun to hang around, and she can throw a mean telepathic punch. Anyways, we have the entire year ahead of us to find recruits, so there's no hurry." Serge replied, as he followed Subito into the complex. "You know it!" he enthusiastically said, as he took out a flashlight from his bag. Serge tried to open it up, only to be met with failure. Trying it again a few times, he exasperately said "Figures... thank god I've got spares with me." as he went for another flashlight, without having any better luck. "Wait, this one too?" trying to change the batteries while kneeling in the ground, Serge was dumbfounded by this incident. "No... don't tell me... Crap..." Looking at Subito, he said "Umm... it appears that, whatever happened here, a while back, must have messed up with electronics... Oh, no... my suit." he hurriedly checked his power glove to see if it worked, and finally sighed a breath of relief to see that at least the suit was still operational. "Well, that's nice. At least the suit works. So, it's safe to say that whatever happened only affected batteries." Looking between the glove and the flashlight, Serge thought of something. "Hmmm... maybe... if I rewire this... and that... and use the chip from the suit... hmmm yes... the inbuilt generators of my suit use my vibrational powers in order to power up the magnetic field. I may be able to cook something up to power up the flashlight with that same power source. Nothing fancy, mind you, I will just connect a few cables here and there, in order to divert some of the electrical currents. It may reduce slightly the efficiency of my suit, but between the two of us, I doubt it would matter much. I don't think it will take more than a... no, half a minute."

"Hey, wait up!" Serge calls out to Subito, while putting the remote control away in his back. Taking flight, he followed Subito, as they went exploring further inside. "That Delta sign... what do you think it means?..." he pondered. Seeing Subito started to turn the windlass, Serge spoke his concerns... "Are you terribly sure that's a safe course of action?" ... before giving up and joining him "Eh, whatever. You only live once, so if you're about to die horribly, might as well make it spectacular and memorable, right?" he half joked. "Say, about what I was saying earlier, what do you think? About us forming a crime-fighting team in the near future. An official team, that is."
-
"Well... true, but I would asume that they would have sufficiently advanced equipment to easily patrol galactic borders. But then again, it's harder to form a blockade when you have to worry about two axes. And don't get me started on collision mechanics, where gravity... is not as much a referee as it is a long distance observer. A binoculars using observer at that. In the sense that sure, it still affects things happening, in a quantum, observation-affects-the-observed-object sort of way, but it's so miniscule that you may as well ignore it... for the sake of your sanity, that is." Serge mused. He found the whole perfomance underwhelming in the beginning, but the more he saw, the more he enjoyed himself. The movie was grossly inaccurate in it's science, even by the era's standard's, but BY GOD did it have fun with it's premise. Realising that he had veered off topic, Serge coughed uncomfortably. "Anyhoo..."

Seeing that the button did nothing, Serge said "Well... that was appropriately unticlimatic. Think I should try using any other button or just lea-" He abruptly stopped talking as soon as he noticed the button that had suddenly appeared. "-vethisplaceDo you see that button there? And what's up with the rest of the place?" Serge pointed at what appeared as the geometry around the place seemed to have gone bonkers, as it where. Looking at the keyboard, Serge spoke after a few seconds "You know, this is some old materials there. Right on par with Expiostinot's stuff, as far as dated goes. But the keyboard layout seems modern. Too modern, in fact. Subito, my friend. I do not think we're dealing with ye olde pirates, here." For certain values of old, to be sure. Serge thought, as he deciphered the password. "J-W-...3-K-9-...V-...5-...R-...4-N-5-...6-...D-D. Heh, there's a joke in there. Okay. let's hope we see some fireworks... or, you know, not."

taking 10 on computer to figure out the password (10+10=20) Taking 20 on Notice to notice things about the keyboard specifically (5+20=25)

"Well..." Serge trails off, as he inspects the object. "Open, close, seal, activate, and deactivate. Pretty straigthforward. Let's see..." he says, as he thinks of what he should do and in what order "First... Open... then activate... hmmm, OK! I think I've got it." he puts the device on the ground, as he takes the time to put the gloves from his power suit. "Call me paranoid, but I'd rather be able to at least repel anything that comes our way." He joked at Subito. As soon as he was done, he picked the remote again, and pressed the 'Open' button. "Whelp, here goes."
-
"Heh. Is that what you think?" Net Fly laughed tauntingly, as fatigue from the constant strenouous activity started taking over him. Fighting it back this time, he retorts "You say that you wish to promote progress? Then surely you must realise why it is that I HAVE to overcome you, old man. Your time is up and your so called <> is a relic of the past, not unlike you. I am the future, and that is why I am here, standing my ground before you. Because I cannot move forward unless I surpass you first." as he took his time concentrating on his next attack. As soon as he was done, and feeling the blessings of his friend's power guide him, he launched one more barrage of fists against professor Expiostinot, that not only hit their mark, but as Net Fly could see, had affected Expiostinot in such a degree that he was rendered disorriented. "Now! Strike swiftly!"
-
Spending a Hero Point to recover from Fatigue Net Fly spends a Full Action to take AIM (+5 attack) Inspired, he gains a +4(if not, Ari, feel free to deduct accordingly from the result) Surging, he immediately attacks with Sonic Fists, using both All-Out Attack AND Power Attack. 1d20+14 → [5,14] = (19) :/ Oh, well. At least it hit. the DC is 29 Toughness(24+2+[(19-13)/2=3]=29)

"No idea. I guess, when the time comes, I'll deal with it. Especially as far as a heroic career is concerned. You know what? How would you feel about making a team after graduation? I know I would be honored to...-wait." Serge cuts off immediately, as he notices something in the skull. "Hel-LO, there! What do we have here?" Looking closer, Serge indicates to Subito "Looks like a remote control of some sort... huh. Looks like this trip will yield some interesting finds after all, Subito." Looking around the cave, Serge also noticed some peculiar footprints "Those... don't look like bear footprints, they're too small. Maybe a wolf, or something, or maybe something, or someONE, else entirely." Turning at Subito, he says, "They're probably old footprints, but I'd rather venture on the safe side. Stay ready for anything that might happen." he cautions his friend, as he reaches for the remote control, in the hopes of activating it, and quite predictably, seeing what happens.

Serge takes 20! on his Notice check(25!!!), spending a minute trying to see if that deer skull holds anything of interest. Afterwards, he'll take 10 to inspect the rest of the cave(15!).
-
"Well... it all comes down to the fact that, when ever I want to do something, anything really, fun and recreation are my foremost concerns. Heh, I even enjoyed watching Bowman and Arrow. Science Fiction... it's a toss-up for me. Again, fun and imagination comes before scientific accuracy, because let's be honest, if I want accuracy, I can just tinker at a lab or something. On the whole, I find most sci-fis to be... well... preachy. And if there's something I hate on a movie, it's preachiness and forced aesops. Especially ones I disagree with." Serge went close to the deer skull, as he tried to inspect it thoroughly. "Well, that's weird. Why would a skull be etched in a wall, with no sign of the rest of it's body anywhere nearby."
-
"...Heh, yeah, even talking about death can be a bit unsettling." Serge replied, as the movie went on. "It is the hopelessness and the helplessness of the thing, that it's something about which you can't do much. It's a trully humbling experience, having someone you know and cherished die, knowing you'll never see them smile or laugh, never share experiences with them, and knowing that there's absolutely nothing you can do to save them..." Serge trailed a bit, as if lost in thought. Coming back to it, he says "Subito and Kristin already know this but... I wasn't really interested in doing anything with my... special talents, really. In fact I was content with just getting by. Then, I witnessed a robbery first hand, and... I froze. I couln't move, I couldn't act, hell, I couldn't even run away like a half-decent coward. It was at that time that I saw up close another human die, actually die, for the first time in my life... Needless to say, I try not to give it much thought... with varying results, of course." Turning towards Luke, Serge said "That's weird; joining the Lab never even crossed my mind. Huh. Perhaps I should further meditate upon it."

Net Fly was patched up from the infirmary, and during that time, he skimmed through Professor Expiostinot's history. A master of getting away, his criminal carrier met it's end during a coordinated attack by one of Freedom League's most prominent incarnations. Seeing pictures of his robotic achievements, Serge couldn't help but marvel at the derranged man's undeniable genius. His work was undoubtedly decades ahead of his time, and even now, half of it has served as the basis on modern robotics. Even if it was his hologram, Serge couldn't help but feel the man's imposing aura and weighted history carried on his suit, as the hologramm materialised before the heroes-in-trainning. Jolts run through his spine at the sheer awe of that man's pressence, even as he rambles about his dreams comming crashing down. Though Kristin caught him off-guard and managed to hit him, she shouted to the rest to use hit-and-run tactics. A certainly viable strategy, considering his lack of long-range capabilities. Marcus showed a more unconstrained and feral stance towards the battle, as he went toe-to-toe with the villain, no doubt confident in his powers and experience to carry him over. Leaving Marcus to handle the Professor from up close, while the rest of them provided support fire and coverage seemed like a good idea, and it certainly appealed to Serge's style of playing smart. Serge, however, felt something entirely else. Keep our distances, Glow had said... Huh. Keep our distances... Keep our distances? No. We do not have to play keep-away. If I run away now, I'll be running for the rest of my life. I will not run away, but I'll stand my ground, and give this fight everything I've got! He felt his mind racing, analyzing Expiostinot's Suit and finding weakspots, places he could press to affect it's wearer. His knuckles, from inside the gloves, had whitened, and he was shaking, but not out of fear; he was feeling anticipation, as he started taking a step forward, then another one, and before he even realised it consciously, he had burst into an exploding run, charging his fists with sonic energy in order to make them hit faster and harder. And faster and harder he did hit Expiostinot, as he let fly a barrage of blows at his targets. At first, the Professor's robotic suit seemed to absorb the damage, but after a few dousens of hits, Net Fly started feeling some feedback from the blows, making him double up on his efforts. This would probably be enough for Expiostinot to Focus on Net Fly and ignore even Arcturus, but Net Fly didn't care. It is to be expected to get hurt in our line of work. I should at least be able to take a hit or two without flinching from fear.
-
Net Fly uses a Full Action, Charges, uses All Out Attack and Power Attack, and he uses Sonic Fists to hit Professor Expiostinot 1d20+7 → [11,7] = (18) DC27(24+2+1) Surging, Net Fly uses Sonic Fists again with All Out Attack, and Power Attack. 1d20+5 → [17,5] = (22) DC29(24+2+3)
-
So, Glow's 22 attack hit, right?
-
"Heh, sure, why not. After all, I'm pretty sure we're wasting our times, either way, so let's get moving." Serge replies, as he takes off the ground, hovering a meter or so above the snow level, just so that he doesn't have to wade through the snow any more. As he headed to the cave, Serge asked Subito "So, tell me, what's your favorite type of movie?" Flying lower and lower, Serge finally landed in the cave entrance, where the snow seemed thinner and lower than anywhere else.
-
Net Fly's initiative is 7, while Arcturus' is 11, right?
-
1d20+3 → [4,3] = (7)

Serge Explinker followed in a more slow pace behind Subito, as he also entered the viewing room. Taking his eyeglasses out, and putting them in his pocket, the young teen joined the rest of the group, who were introducing themselves to each other. "Yahaow!" he exclaimed with enthusiasm in a high-pitched voice. "And I'm Serge. Let me welcome you two to our esteemed Academy." he said, in a more subdued and normal voice, while lifting his hand in a greeting manner and flashing a wide smile at Luke and Chloe. "Let's have a great semester. If you have any questions... well, you should probably ask the seniors, really, as they are far more experienced in the matters of the campus, but in a pinch, we will do our best and provide you with the answers you may seek. Ain't that right?" he asked Subito and Kristin, as he cheerfully did his part in explaining things to Chloe and Luke.
-
"Thanks, I'll, uh, I'll be fine." Serge replied. Finally finding the strength to pull himself together, the young teen rose from the ground, dusting the snow off his face and body. "Meh, don't worry about your cuts, Subito. They are only flesh deep, and to be expected from an expedition." Thinking a bit on the movie issue, he said "Don't like watching people being tormented, huh? I never thought of it that way, that's for sure. I mean, don't get me wrong, I may enjoy the occasional Dracula, but on the whole, the reason I avoid horror is that I find the genre to be... mindnumbingly dull, trite, uninteresting, and unsuspenceful. Comedies are much more my suit, with action being a close second, and fantasy a distand third. Nothing wrong with fantasy films, really, just nothing too interesting either."

Net Fly Two's Company, Four's Party Venture into the Forest

Serge moved his feet on a blinding speed, avoiding trees and digging through the snow as if possesed. It was, naturally, to his complete surprise and utter horror that he was lagging behind. The cold didn't help matters, as he found it increasingly harder to breath. In the end, he managed to catch up to his friend, who was now resting after a victorious run, in half a minute, immediately collapsing on the snowy ground, grasping for breath. "Huff, huff, huff, Fine, huff, but no, huff, NO HORRORFILMS!" he said impotently, while his muscles ached tensely. "Koff-koff, God! Ahh, ahh, huff, phew. That was good. Huff, huff. I really felt that excersize." Serge remarked, finally catching his wind
