Vector frowned as Silvia threatened Newman. She didn't think that Silvia was serious about the first threat, but if it came down to it, she'd stop the captain. Heck, if it came down to it, a lot of people would be not very happy with the second option. "Make it easier on all of us, Newman. If you give up the weapons, then that's at least something in your favor. Or, well..." She shrugged. "You know the attitude that law enforcement has regarding the Terminus. There'd likely be some noise made about how the crimes were committed on our soil, so we should be the ones to lock you up, but I imagine a lot of people wouldn't be too unhappy to see you go. Your choice."

Okay, Powers and Tactics has been added.

Meanwhile, with a look towards the desk, Vector started making her way towards Newman, cautiously making sure that the villain had no other 'tricks'. She figured he might not be down and out from that punch, especially if he had powers of his own. She wouldn't put it past the Terminus wannabe, even if she didn't know for a fact that he had them. "Please don't get up, by the way, Newman. You're going to be in enough trouble already." It was true. She figured that even if he managed to wriggle out of this, a lot of Aussie superheroes would pay Newman more attention in the future. This could well be the beginning of the end for the boss of the Omega Mob. "Found anything yet, Captain?"

Haukea's blush receded somewhat as Sam let up on the teasing, although the fact that their fingers were still laced together kept it to a certain level. "Um. Sam's right, Will. We need to be cautious, but, um... well, nothing's going to change if we treat them like monsters." She looked at him. "I mean, plenty of villains have become heroes, so why not people from here? 'It's our choices that show who we truly are.' Right?"

And in her wake, Vector jumped into the air, covering the distance in a single bound. Newman, miraculously, remained untouched by the windstorm, but not by what came after. As the Omega Boss gaped, Vector landed right in front of him, a solid stare directed at the gang lord. Her fist followed shortly, slamming into his chest and throwing him back through a wall. Vector winced slightly, but the punch didn't hit anywhere vital by design. And it had the desired effect, as the various gang members started to flee. "You've been smuggling goods that no one wants here, Newman. You honestly thought that wouldn't attract attention?"

Spending a hero point to reroll... Awwww yeah, 26.
-
Rolling to hit Newman with a punch, landing directly on top of him! Let's give the guy a reason to be so vicious towards Vector, huh? Aaaand I roll a 10.

It seemed like this trip was a lesson in how red Haukea's face could get. At this point, as Sam leaned in close, Haukea almost seemed at the verge of passing out... Before she started stammering. "A-ah, um, I don't think- ah, if I could trust yo- her, maybe, um, but I don't, ah, think that would be..." She muttered in Hawaiian for a few moments, seemingly collecting her thoughts. "I think I'd want to be friends with y- her. Her. Friends with her before we went, ah... further." The blush rose again, before Haukea continued. "Know about her, maybe?"

Smiling, Haukea set the man down. "You're welcome. And yeah, I think that might be a good idea, okay? Hope it goes well. And yeah, I might have a look..." She saw him walking down the stairs before she frowned, thinking. The guy said he wasn't being influenced, but... that was a really odd tangent, right at the end. Really, really odd. Might be worth checking out. Something had to be behind this. Stronghold started flying over to ASTRO labs, thinking all the way.

Vector nodded, briefly joining Silvia in the interrogation- and delivering a promise to McGruther to get him into protective custody. She'd handle that after the whole business was over. "Well, hopefully we can get Newman behind bars. Or at least tie this stuff to him." As the cannons fired, the heroine prepared herself to drop in. "All right. I'm ready whenever you are..."

Should we make the rolls now, then do posting based on the results, or...

At the messing of her hair, Haukea went silent for a moment. Mostly from sheer... embarrassment, perhaps? In any case, it took a few moments for her to gather her thoughts. "Um, er..." Eventually, the blush started to lower. "Um... well... er... I'd... ah... prefer not to be frenemies? Just friends with her- um, him- whichever?" The blush came back up for a bit, as Haukea searched for the right words. "I don't think I'd like a friendship that had to change like that so often. When you have a friend, you keep them."

Kit indeed got a reaction, Haukea's bronzed skin darkening in a blush. "Ah, um, I wouldn't really know... ah, sorry, I mean, they might be, but I'm not entirely sure they'd be interested- sorry, interested in me, they-" Before digging herself even deeper, Haukea closed her mouth. Good job, she probably thought that Haukea was a total dork now. More of one. Why was she getting this flustered, anyway? Sure, she didn't know Sam very well, but she'd gotten introducing herself and stuff like that down pretty well, right?

Well, if I manage to get Memorial going before this starts up, I'd certainly be interested.

Stronghold nodded at Thoughtspeed's words. "Right. Um... so, let's all do as well as we can, then?" Sam kept distracting her for some reason. She... didn't think it was feeling inadequate. That was more Cho with how confident the other girl was. Might have to figure out what later. Haukea looked out the window, stowing away a very, very well-read book into her luggage carefully. "And maybe we'll make some friends. Even if they might be from a pretty different place than us?"

Catherine glared. "Really? You're doing this here?" She sighed. "Personally, I don't think Newman would have changed anything if the sword didn't exist. Except maybe he wouldn't have make a move that exposed his nature. So, the sword's contribution to tonight was basically to act as a warning. It being out in the open actually helped us tonight." Raising her head, she gazed at both ex-Omegadrones. "Maybe I'm butting into something that I might not be fully able to understand, but if it were up to me... I'd want the sword somewhere it was used. Against the Terminus... anyone who keeps people in chains." She shifted in her bed. "Just my five cents."

Vector made her way to McGruther quickly, making sure not to injure anyone- she'd have gone for a different plan, but when the Terminus was involved in any way, most Aussie superheroes had an attitude of 'get that stuff out of here as quick as possible'. Quite a few would have gone for the 'as long as the collateral damage doesn't include people' approach in this situation. She grabbed the man's arm, smiling serenely. "Hi! We've got some questions to ask you, but here isn't exactly the best place. I'd like you to come with us, 'McGruther'."

"..." Catherine was silent, for a moment. "Vomit wouldn't be what I'd go for. I'd say the knight suits you better than the drone, though." She sighed at Argonaut's second statement. "I accepted the risks when I went into this whole business. And I'm luckier than some this night." She fell silent again, remembering Newman's first strike. Then, she looked at Argonaut as she requested the blade. This... could be a point of contention.
-
Haukea nodded. "Yeah... it's your choice what to do with your life. I mean, I know what it's like to be... um. Maybe not as different as you are, but still different. Told you don't fit in, maybe your brain doesn't 'work right'-" Stronghold raised her hands, making a finger-quote gesture. "I have it lucky as far as that goes, but I know what being told stuff like that can be like. If that makes sense?" She set down on the floor, looking at the Psycho-Collective. "I've tried drawing away once. I am so, so lucky that I've got a family who didn't let me." Haukea held out a hand. "I'd say that the people who accept you for what you are outweigh the idiots in the world. But you need to make the first step."

Be well aware: if Stronghold and the Scarab are in the same thread, Haukea will start fangirling.

Stronghold would be up for kidnapped Errant. :)

The heroine chuckled. "It would be, wouldn't it." She moved on, addressing the next topic. "No, you don't need to apologise." Catherine nodded to Argonaut as she entered the room. "If anyone's at fault for this, it's Newman- and, ultimately, Omega himself. Besides, he hid his true nature from everyone, not just you." She sighed. "I'll admit, part of me wants Newman to be locked away here. But Australia doesn't have any prisons for powered individuals anyway, so it's not practical." She sighed. "So, as long as that bloody key gets thrown away, it'll have to do. I know the prevaling attitude in Australia is 'we want nothing involved with the Terminus here'." She looked at both superheroes. "Personally, I want nothing under the command of the Terminus here. Those that work against is... that's fine. And I'm not in costume right now, call me Catherine."
-
Stronghold turned her head towards the silvery figures, before walking between them and Daphne, looking at them. "No one's 'disposing' of anyone. If you've got a problem with her, tell us why, but you are not killing anyone." Inwardly, she was wondering if she might be punching over her weight class, but... as far as she could tell, that girl was innocent. Certainly, she wasn't a threat. "Especially since this isn't actually your world. So... what's she actually done that has you so riled up?"
