Stronghold blushed again. "Sorry, not saying you couldn't be, I... sometimes just let my mouth run away from me, say things that are a bit awkward." She looked at Angie as the other girl sighed- something seemed to be up, but she didn't want to press her roommate on it. It'd probably make things awkward, and she was a guest here anyway. Speaking of... "Ah, okay. Most of the stuff I read was mostly stuff about how it's a bad idea to make a bargain you're not sure you're prepared to keep, stuff like that. It's a good thing you're here as a guide, is all I'm saying. So... where are we headed?"

Well, I'm letting you all make a post before combat/initiative time actually starts. While I'm about it, though, here's the other two Initiative rolls involved... 1d20+1=13 1d20=9 So when combat actually starts, you'll actually be first.

Tagging.

Stronghold looked around- she'd chosen to wear her costume for this, partially to project an... um... certain image. After all, she'd read the fairy tales. Not the Disney ones, the Brothers Grimm ones. She hadn't entirely been expecting the offer from Angie- or Trailblazer, as she was also starting to be known- and didn't entirely know why she'd made it. Maybe she wanted someone to be able to share stuff like this with? Haukea could understand that. "It is beautiful, Angie... and thanks for bringing me here. But... um... okay, how to put this. The really old stories about fairies I've read, they can be... beautiful, but dangerous. Not that that applies to you. Um. Half-applies, anyway. You're beautiful, but you're nice-" Haukea cut off, blushing. "Er... you know. Anyway, what I mean is, is there anything I need to... um... look out for while I'm here?"

Memorial paused for a moment as she lifted up into the air, looking for a spot to hit. There didn't really seem to be a center of mass or a particular weak spot to hit, after all. She considered following up Corona's blast with one of her own, but decided to vary things a little- after all, maybe physical damage would work better on this foe. She flew forwards, her fist rushing forwards to deliver a punishing blow to the monster... If one that didn't seem to do more than cause it to pause. At least it was something, though.

Memorial's switching to her strength-boosting option, then delivering a good punch to the tentacle! 1d20+10=26 With a Toughness chack vs DC 25.

Catherine Fields grinned as she wheeled her way towards the haunted house, wearing casual, but cold-weather clothing. She probably could keep herself warm with her powers, but that always raised some awkward questions even if her identity was public now. Not that she was really in a state to do much superheroing at the moment... She hummed as she joined the queue. She'd heard about this a while back, and thought it was a good idea- mum and dad had some other stuff to do while they were there, so she'd come by herself- figuring out some tricks with the wheelchair as she went. No one said she couldn't have a bit of fun with the thing, after all. As she wheeled herself into the warehouse, she smiled, ready for a good time...

Memorial nodded, as she made her way into the airlock behind Emily. "Yeah, I did. Looks like there might be a fight going on." She frowned. "This might be a bit tricky. Your suit is tougher than I am, but I speak Lor, so I'd be able to identify who's on which side sooner. And we can't really go together, mostly because of how low this door is..." Kyla sighed. "Yeah, you go first. I'll get out as quickly as I can after you, all right?" And then, she readied herself for the door to open...

"Oh? I would love to go with you sometime to see places like that, Sakurako-c- san." She passed off her slip with only a slight blush. She didn't normally slip up like that, but... ah. Someone to distract her from that. Haruko smiled as she turned and looked at the young man who'd just introduced himself. "Ah, yes, we both have been. I am Haruko, this is Sakurako. I have been here a few weeks, while she has just arrived." She looked him over for a moment. Quite friendly. She thought he might have noticed Sakurako's hair first, actually. Which she had certainly noticed as well. It was... hard to miss. "It is a pleasure to meet you. What is your name?"

As one of the earlier mangas out there, this is probably one of the more referenced manga, and has recieved references in a LOT of other stuff from Japan, as well as Dragonball Abridged (if you've seen it, the 'summon steamrollers' scene) and even the show Heroes. As a long-runner, there's a lot of things I could draw on for a build, but I'm going to have a look at the concept of Stands. In short, they're a spirit that is summoned from your own inner self, and can be used to fight in battle. The unique abilities involved are a lot of what give Jojo its charm, and also make this a good first build to do. I'm not building some of the really weird Stands today, and instead I'm building Jotarou, the protagonist from part 3, Stardust Crusaders. This build, at it's core, is adapted from AA's >Mystic Ally build. The powers are pretty simple- this guy can summon a humanoid spirit at will, to do a variety of things. The spirit in question is fast, which is where the Quickness and Speed comes from, and it can carry the character to jump around. The Strike has Extended Reach to represent the fact that the spirit can move a short distance away from the character, and the Blast represents a trick where the fingers of the spirit extend, sort of like a spear. Jotarou doesn't have any particular tricks, he's just... really fast and really strong. He's also got a lot of Intimidate, reflecting the fact that in the show, he's not particuarly nice to the people he fights. And that brings me nicely to how to adopt this for a superhero setting. Don't try to play it like in the show. Jotarou's a hero, but he's the epitome of Good is Not Nice, and he tends to be rather violent, killing a couple of his opponents. That said, from my read, this makes for a bit of a less-capable Paragon with some rather nice potential for stunts.

Haruko smiled as she set off to her own dorm to deposit her newly-bought supplies, before making her way back to the cafeteria. The other girl was obviously quite proud of her invention, so it would be interesting to see what it was like. After finding a seat, she smiled as Sakurako entered the room- admiring the suit. She waved the other girl over, before speaking up. "Ah- this is the suit. It looks lovely- and well-designed. You look good in it, too, although I suspect you would make many outfits look good." She paused, before continuing, a slight blush on her cheeks. "Er... it looks like you can move a lot more than a lot of diving suits I have seen. Do you know how deep it can go?"
-
"That is true..." Haruko did find herself a bit taken aback by Errant and how... blunt he was. Almost to the point of rudeness, at least from her upbringing. Still, you'd get every type, and she couldn't discount the possibility that he had had some... difficult periods in his past. He might just not open up much. That was his decision, if so. She didn't want to pry. "Well, you could do that, yes. Maybe show me that suit of yours once we get to the rooms, perhaps? Or..." She didn't exactly want to shut out Errant, either. "Maybe we could go to the cafeteria and talk for a bit."

And I'll get initiative checks now.

Mikala nodded. "Good luck." Waterfront The journey to the Waterfront was quick- they really weren't very far from there to start with, and as late at night as it was, there was very little traffic. As they arrived, the smell of a backfired car came drifting through the air, seeming to come from one of the warehouses. It didn't seem any different from the other warehouses along the shoreline- and there was a door on a walkway that could be reached by catwalk, which probably opened onto a second level. Suddenly, a flash of light came through one of the windows, and cursing could be heard by the heroes quite clearly- a male voice, using English, but with an accent that... none of the heroes had ever heard before. Most certainly not a Japanese accent.
-
Stronghold nodded. "You go ahead, I'll follow as well as I can!" She lifted off, flying after the car- not quite keeping up with it, but still setting a respectable pace at least. Sorta respectable. Okay, the Orange Ring might not be the flying one, but she should at least be able to manage faster than a car, right? At least this car... wasn't exactly hard to miss. And the bullets they were shooting hit her armor harmlessly. So, there were those two things.

<"Oh? That might be interesting, Sakurako-san."> As she noticed Errant approaching, and Sakurako's greeting of the other teenager, she smiled as she switched to English. "I have not been at this school for much longer than you, truth be told. Although I am honored that you might consider me like that, Sakurako-san." She then turned to Errant. "I do not think we have actually met yet, in fact, although I think I have seen you around? I am Haruko Miyamoto. And this is Sakurako Hino, she has just arrived."
-
Argh. Sorry, just been having a brain freeze regarding this. souffle, could I suggest that you have Trailblazer grab Stronghold and teleport along with her? Give them both the opportunity to chase the car.

Haukea walked over to hug her dad, smiling. "I'm good! Going pretty well, in a couple of areas..." Her family knew about her bearing the Ring, of course. She couldn't really have concealed it from them if she'd wanted to- the Ring itself wasn't really very concealable. "It's been interesting at Claremont. I've got a new roommate, actually, she's nice." Kalani grinned as she spoke up. "Oooooh, nice, or nice nice, kaikaina?" Haukea blushed heavily. "Not like that, 'lani! She's just a friend, I haven't had the time to get to really know her in the first place! And I don't think she's like that, anyway!"
-
I actually remember you had a plot idea for Shiranui, Endeavor, Miracle Girl and Samaritan, right? Because I was thinking that might make a good 'starting' thread for us.
-
Memorial didn't make any particular comment about how she might be suited to taking out the ships- right now, she really wasn't able to be mobile and use her firepower at the same time, and she figured that Corona knew what she was doing. Instead, she nodded to Mechanized, before pushing off and out of the ship. She covered the distance into the civilian transport quickly, the heroine looking around as she spoke in Lor. "Hello, my name is Kyla, and I'm here with officer K'Zan of the Lor Republic. We're here to help. Or more specifically, to help you repel your boarders aaaaand no one's here." She looked around, before turning and waiting for Mechanized to make the jump across.

Stronghold winced at the psychic cry of pain, before looking up at Foreshadow. "I don't think anything good's going on out there. I... I got a heads-up from the Atoms, that they thought someone was going to tip off Ember. And Chase Atom just... um... well, psychic equivalent of crying out in pain, and he's not saying anything. So, don't think it's good, no." She floated her way out of the open hatch, making sure to keep close to the planes, before looking for an open door to get into the plane by- and taking note of the Atom-plane now here. What to do, what to do... check on Ember first. The plane hadn't blown up yet, so maybe someone was keeping her from doing so somehow. Maybe she couldn't do much to help, but she could at... least try and see what she could do. Ah. Door. She made her way in, wincing. "Um, hi, I-" She stopped. ...wait. Hologram and Fast-Forward. A.k.a. Mr. and Mrs. Cline, aka the parents of Will. And the last time she'd met them, she'd gotten brained by a flying axe. They looked like they were... talking down Ember. Huh. She... didn't know that was possible, but okay. And... wait. Mrs. Cline was telepathic too, wasn't she? "Um... I think Chase Atom might be in trouble below us. He was in telepathic contact with me, and I just got a... well, kinda yell of pain before it cut off. I was just, uh, checking to see if I could help here with..." Okay, that was a free Ember Psion, no harm in being polite- "Miss Psion before I went to see if he needed help, but, uh..."

Stronghold- Haukea- grinned as she hugged her sister, then her mom, before they started to drive home. Claremont was nice- she'd gotten used to not sleeping with Kalani in the same room, not having her family within short reach- but it was still nice to spend weekends at home. The journey was spent in idle chatter, before they arrived home, just before her father…
