(GM Post) November, 2024 Claremont Academy Gates Carmen and Mizuki had been volunteered to help with cleanup from the Claremont Halloween party. It was mostly separating recycling, cardboard to cans to plastic, while leftover candy was being donated and handed out to charities. It was a bit boring for work, but it was also a nice way to get some extra credit on a few classes; either if they needed it or if they just wanted to juice a grade. The pair were currently sorting the boxes out near the entrance to the school into various bins, so that when the trucks came by the pick up, they'd know which box to grab without having to go searching. It was a bit of a dreary, overcast day, with rain constantly threatening to break through the clouds but never for more than a few seconds. A dreary day that had left two Super-heroines who had done some superheroing together a bit of time to be alone and talk, without the presence of evil villains or their other friends dominating the conversation.

Power Level: 8 (150/151 PP) Unspent Power Points: 1PP Trade-Offs: 0 In Brief: Telekinetic hair controller teen refugee from an alternate Earth run by supers Alternate Identity: Lady Estelle de Havilland, Third of Her Line Birthplace: "The Meadows," Allaire, Royal Colony of New Guernsey Residence: Formerly 'Earth-Ex', now Claremont Academy Occupation: Student, dancer. Affiliations: Claremont Academy Family: Jason de Havilland (older brother, disinherited heir), Soleil "Sunny" de Havilland-King (older sister, diplomat's wife), Selene de Havilland (younger sister), Celeste de Havilland (younger sister), Arthur de Havilland (father, colonial governor of New Guernsey), Mildred de Havilland (mother, socialite/philanthropist) Note: Estelle has no idea if any of her family is still alive back on her home E-A Age: 16 Apparent Age: mid-teens Gender: Female Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5' 9" Weight: 141 lbs. Hair: Blond (reaches down to her ankles) Eyes: Blue Appearance: Estelle is a beautiful blonde girl with refined features and an elegant bearing who always dresses to impress. Though her face and figure are both extremely attractive, the first thing anyone notices about Estelle is her amazing hair, which floats about her like a cloud of luminous gold. In its natural state, it cascades over her shoulders and down to her ankles, but she often wears it up or in a thick braid to keep it out of the way. Her pale blue eyes are striking, if somewhat cold and distant Back on her own Earth-Alternate, Estelle typically wore fine dresses and gowns, but on this Earth where everything is so…egalitarian, she favors silk blouses, crisply-pressed slacks, and black-leather boots with matching gloves. Typically she wears softer colors in a pastel palette, with light blue, light green and lilac being the most common, with gray and khaki pants. In terms of jewelry, she likes diamonds and silver. She has yet to devise a ‘supersuit’ of any kind; in fact, she finds the whole idea rather gauche. History: Estelle de Havilland grew up wealthy, on a parallel Earth where metahumans (called ‘Exceptional Persons' or just 'Exceptionals’) form the ruling aristocratic class. Her father is Royal Governor of the Crown Colony pf New Guernsey, one of five British New World colonies. Earth-Ex is technologically stuck in the 18th Century due to its dependence on Exceptional powers, although the rabble have been pushing the boundaries to science in their attempt to throw off the yoke of their so-called oppressors. "The Meadows," the sprawling de Haviland family estate overlooking the Hudson River Palisades, was like a magic castle for the de Havilland children, who were essentially raised by its staff; however, young Estelle manifested a questing intelligence at an early age, more interested in science and reading than charity balls and fashion shows like her brother and three sisters. Her very traditional parents were somewhat flummoxed - a bright daughter is nothing to be ashamed of, but one who displayed no interest in either the family's investments or impressing the sons of other wealthy dynasties did present a bit of a problem. It was decided that she would attend the best schools and university (the de Havillands have been linked with King's College for nearly a century) while still being raised as a proper lady. Estelle dutifully worked on her calligraphy and proper manners, took dance and pianoforte lessons, and went to all the right parties in all the right dresses. She never resented these family obligations, and always managed to enjoy herself, fully aware of both the importance and silliness of this rarefied world. In time, Estelle grew to be a beautiful young woman of grace and poise, and her parents breathed a sigh of relief - at least she wasn't a tomboy, like her cousin Arlene. In time, Arthur de Havilland came to love his daughter, for her mind, wit and beauty. But then one night, the clamoring unwashed throng marched up the road towards Estelle's home. wielding torches, pitchforks and sinister black powder weapons. The family panicked as windows were smashed and oil lamps lobbed through to set the curtains alight. However, Arthur didn't panic; he was a bit of an inventor himself (though he dare not breathe a word of it in public. He lead his family out to a disused barn on the property that he'd long ago converted into a workshop. And in here rested his greatest invention, the Trans-Dimensional Ornithopter. Ss he rapidly tried to explain his mechanical wonder to his frightened family, hooligans smashed through the doors! With only seconds to act, Arthur de Havilland selflessly shoved his favorite daughter into the Ornithopter and engaged the latch, as he smiled through tears. "My two greatest inventions...saving each other." Estelle fanatically beat her fists against the glass canopy, but it was too late; Earth-Ex was gone, and Earth Prime was waiting... Personality: Despite her breeding and refined upbringing, Estelle is both friendly and approachable, and has a wicked sense of humor. Her laugh is surprisingly loud and contagious, although she doesn't laugh as much as she used to years ago; the young noble is frequently distracted by concern for her family back home. No one, not even Estelle herself, would deny that she can be a bit vain, but as true as this is, it does her an injustice; she is very passionate about both the pursuit of knowledge and to helping those who are less fortunate. Though she may seem shallow and image-obsessed at times, all concerns about her appearance go out the window if someone is in genuine need; of course, she will most likely bemoan her bedraggled state at length after the fact. Estelle is an exceedingly talented gymnast and dancer, and is also quite accomplished in her playing of the celeste, harpsicord and pianoforte. She also enjoys reading lurid Gothic novels full of forbidden love, ghosts and beheadings that would make her staid father blush, although perhaps not her mother... Powers: Estelle has full control of her hair, which she can form into up to twenty-five tendrils that lengthen at will up to 100 feet; her hair limbs are just as dexterous as her own two hands, capable of such complicated tasks as typing a letter or shuffling cards. Despite its rather lightweight appearance, her hair is surprisingly strong, allowing her to lift up over a ton with ease. She can also automatically style her hair at will, and often does so to playful or artistic effect. She is constantly finding new ways to use her powers through experimentation. Complications: What Do The Simple Folk Do: Growing up as part of the landed gentry, on an Earth than barely made it into the Industrial Revolution, Estelle is often completely baffled by the attitudes and lifestyle of the 'peasants' she encounters everyday. A GM may award a Hero Point anytime Estelle's native classism interferes with any social interactions. Toxic Love: Estelle grew up on a largely agrarian alternate Earth, where technology is only starting to be harnessed by the lower cases i their attempts to overthrow their superpowered masters. As a result, she is often overwhelmed by the vapors, fumes and other day-to-day chemicals she encounters in the modern age. A GM can award an HP anytime Estelle struggles to cope with a commercial or industrial chemical product or byproduct. Another Time, Another Place: Earth Prime and Earth Exceptional have very different timelines from each other. A GM may award an HP any time Estelle has trouble understanding a concept that is alien to her world. Do You Hear The People Sing: Estelle comes from a world where Exceptional Persons (aka supers) form a feudal ruling class. As a result, she believes she has a god-govern right to rule over the 'peasants' (non-supers), but also conversely sees herself as having a sacred duty to aid and protect them. A GM may award an HP when either Estelle's noblesse oblige prevents her from walking away from a problem, or when her natural arrogance makes a situation worse. Rai Ki Wai Estate Wakaya Island, Fiji Saturday, February 17, 2024, 9:00 AM local time With the recent cold weather and just all the various pressures from school and other things, Lawrence Harrow had figured a change of scenery was in order, someplace warm and sunny. Which, of course made him think about a weekend trip to his parent’s estate on a private island in Fiji. Naturally, a weekend in the South Pacific would not be nearly as much fun alone, so he had invited several of his friends and other Claremont students he had gotten to know best during the first half of the year. So, plans had been made for a weekend there during the third weekend in February. And so, the group of teens had gathered in the main quad at the start of the weekend with their bags, still not entirely sure how they were going to make the trip to the South Pacific in just a weekend (never mind getting back). Once everyone had been gathered, Lawrence provided the answer, as he created a temporal portal and led everyone into it. After stepping through, the blond teen found himself in the familiar setting of the large balcony next to the pool at his parents' compound. Stepping away from the portal to make room for everyone else to come through, the teen turned and looked back with a wide smile. Lawrence was dressed in a pair of board shorts and a T-shirt, with aviator sunglasses. "Welcome to Fiji!" He said as everyone stepped through, and he closed the portal behind them and then gestured around them. The air was already at least a warm seventy degrees and getting humid. The groups of teens were standing on a massive wooden deck, with several small tables and chairs scattered around it. Palm trees and other plants were part of the landscaping around the deck, and a long pool stretched along one side of the deck, separating it from a large, two-story building. The upper floor of the building had a covered balcony that stretched around the visible exterior. Off to one side, a smaller building was connected to the first by a covered walkway. All in all, it looked like a high-end resort. The other side of the deck, opposite the pool and large building, ended at a railing, that overlooked a hillside that went down from the deck into jungle below. A little way down the hill was the ocean, clear blue waters that stretched out as far as could be seen, with several other islands visible nearby. "So, this is obviously the deck and pool." Lawrence said before looking toward the house. "Ladies, as arranged, tonight you all have the main house pavilion and the two guest suite pavilions on the opposite side." He said, pointing towards the large two-story building near them. "The boys and I will crash in the three bungalows that are just a little way down that path," he said pointing off to his left while facing the main house. Turning again to point to the right of the main house, toward the smaller building connected by the covered walkway. "As my parents requested, please stay out of the master bedroom pavilion. And, please try not to mess with any of the security systems, if those get set off, my mom will be here in like two seconds." The blond teen then turned and walked over towards the railing of the balcony. "Down below is a tennis court, which is lighted if anyone wants to keep playing tonight. Down the hill is a private beach, and we have windsurfers, boogie boards and surf boards and other water stuff stored down near there." Turning away, he faced the group once more. "The staff should not be bothering us this weekend but have stocked up the kitchen with plenty of premade food and stuff for us to cook on the grill out here. So, we are all set."

Rai Ki Wai Estate Wakaya Island, Fiji Saturday, February 17, 2024, 8:30 PM local time It had been a rather full day of water and sun for the Claremont teens staying at the Fiji estate owned by Lawrence's parents. After the group had grilled dinner up on the massive deck up by the main house, Lawrence had gathered as many as were interested in heading back down to the beach to sit around a campfire to wait for nightfall and a chance for what he indicated was some amazing stargazing while they relaxed a bit before everyone was ready to go to bed. The teens had begun to gather down on the beach where Lawrence had gotten a fire started just before sunset, just before 7:00 PM. Over the next hour and a half, the sky continued to darken, until the sky was filled with countless stars, with even the Milky Way Galaxy visible in the sky above the beach. The fire was crackling in the center of the circle of teens as Lawrence looked up at the sky with a grin. "Like I said, a view of the night sky that is hard to beat, unless you are out in space."

Many students were meeting their mentors in classrooms, the auditorium or nearby, the library, or various somewhat-private spots out on the ground, etc, no one had "laid claim" to the Doom Room. Not publicly, anyways; yet, days before the scheduled Mentor Day, the Room had nonetheless been booked for several hours. No names were in the system, just a letter: R. Everyone who cared could intuit what it meant. When young Calliope Summers walked into the room, it was the bare metal and grids of power lines and projector nodes of the actual Doom Room. Gleaming and shining in the too-bright lights. Standing directly in the middle, with his back to her, stood the current Raven. His armored cowl was off of his head and held under one arm, and he was seemingly staring at nothing in particular as she approached. When Callie was about halfway between the door and the Raven, he spoke. Only then would she notice that the observation room's windows were completely darkened and polarized, and Alek had been watching her in the reflection from those windows. "Glad you could make it." He turned around, his cape naturally flowing in a way that other heroes found maddening to replicate, and that Callie knew was thanks to the materials and weight of the multi-purpose "accessory". "So. Today, it's just the two of us. Your father, your older self, Charlie, everyone else, they're busy with other things. Even the alternate of your father; I think he's in the Rookery poking that suit of his." Alek's tone is neutral. He's not one for mind games, but he will occasionally test the younger heroes who work with him. He had already made it clear to Callie, more than once, that he did things the way he did for a reason, and they were always his own reasons. "I feel like, by and large, I have a good sense of your abilities, your skills, and your style of fighting. We get practice on that every week, if not every day. I'm certainly willing to talk about that, if you'd like. But my interest today is more fundamental. Callie..." Only now did he take his cowl and place it on his head. His hands came off of the sides, and even as the tiny armor plates clicked and moved into place, his voice was automatically altered and masked. "Why do we do what we do?"

Player Name: Raveled Character Name: TNTeen Power Level: 7 (105/150PP) Trade-Offs: None Unspent Power Points: 0 Progress To Bronze Status: 0/30 In Brief: A boy who only wants to be overlooked gets a most spectacular power. Alternate Identities: Eugene King, Gene Identity: Secret Birthplace: Freedom City, New Jersey Occupation: Student, superhero Affiliations: Claremont Academy Family: Lots Description: Age: 16 (DoB:) Gender: Male Ethnicity: African Height: 5' 5" Weight: 130 lbs Eyes: Black Hair: Black Gene King is not a physically imposing teenager. He's rather short and slim, with elbows and knees everywhere. His hair is dark and curly, his face is long and thin, and his dark eyes are usually in a book. Most of the time he wears jeans and tee-shirts, like almost every other teenager, but when there's danger likely he dons a red shirt with a cartoon bomb on the front, and a red head-mask. Power Descriptions: Gene can absorb kinetic energy from his environment and release it as explosive spheres. With a little concentration he can even choose how long it will take for the spheres to detonate, potentially setting up a very nasty surprise! History: Eugene King was born to a big family in Ashton, the baby of seven. Being the youngest he was used to making his own fun, and quickly learned to enjoy quieter pastimes. Very soon grew into a quiet, bookish child. He excelled in academics at school and devoured all sorts of books; he especially loved comic books about Freedom City's local heroes. They inspired him in his life, even though he preferred to be much more low-key than the four-colored titans he read about. He may have gone through life in a placid way if not for the accident. It was a foggy day, and everyone was packed into family van as they drove home from the holidays. The highway was crowded with cars, and as a band of thicker mist rolled across the road drivers in front of the pack slowed down, too quickly for those in the rear to react. Cars collided and slid into one another, and very soon there was a developing pile-up. The Kings, ironically enough, avoided the mass of the accident only to slide down the side of the road and hit a tree. Gene was absorbed in a book for most of the time, and his only clear memories are of the car sliding across the road, his father swearing, and his mother screaming before the van came to an abrupt halt. Moments later the tree fell on the car, neatly pinning the family. No one was seriously hurt, but none of the kids were reacting well to the situation. Young Gene, in particular, was terrified. He felt full of energy, but unable to move due to his seat-belt locking and the tree deforming the car. He reached out, and instinctively pushed it away. He had just enough time to see the tree explode into dust before he passed out. None of the Kings experienced worse than some nasty bumps and bruises, and within a couple of days they were on the road again in a rented van. No one really wanted to talk about the accident and how the tree exploded, and a thicker silence than normal fell over Gene's life. That was broken when Duncan Summers showed up at the front door with a scholarship offer -- and answers. That was two years ago. Gene's refined his powers and his control over them, and now he has decided to try and fight crime with them. It's not exactly how he wants to live his life, but he has to know if his abilities can be used to do any good. Personality & Motivation: Gene prefers to be quiet and inconspicuous most of the time, but when he has an opinion he can be the loudest voice in the room. While he's not confrontational growing up with a bunch of older siblings has taught him that sometimes to the only way to get what you want is to push. Gene is rather terrified of his powers. He's worried that there's nothing good that he can do with his powers, and so he pushes himself to prove that he can be a hero with them. Powers & Tactics: Gene's not big on hurting people. He prefers to use his non-damaging powers to set up his allies to take enemies down, or delay combat long enough to get any hostages away. When he is forced into direct conflict, he prefers to stay far away so that his lack of physical strength isn't an issue. Complications: Secret Identity Gene doesn't want anyone to know that he's the TNTeen, mostly because... T-Baby Blues Having powers from the Terminus preys on his mind. Demolisher Gene's powers manifest as small, explosive spheres, so it's easy for them to roll into corners or cracks. Because of that he tends to do more damage to builds than he intends to. Claustrophobia Small spaces tend to make Gene freak out and make his powers fire off randomly.
