Using my bronze reward to promote Cho/Rampart to PL 10. Player Name: RobRX Character Name: Rampart Power Level: 10/11 (161/164PP 37PP earned pre-bump, 3PP earned post-bump) Trade-Offs: -2 Attack / +2 Damage (Melee), +4 Attack / -4 Damage (Ranged), -2 Defense / +2 Toughness Unspent Power Points: 3 Progress To Silver Status: 40/60 In Brief: Terminus-powered Paragon. Alternate Identity: Cho Paige Lee Identity: Public (In the sense people know she has superpowers) Birthplace: Freedom City Occupation: Student Affiliations: Claremont Academy, WYRM Family: Ken Lee (Father, Deceased), Wanda Benjamin, née Paige (Mother), John Benjamin (Stepfather), Naomi Benjamin (Half-sister) Description: Age: 17 (November 2, 1997) Apparent Age: 18 Gender: Female Ethnicity: Asian/African-American Height: 6'6" Weight: 190 lb Eyes: Black Hair: Black Cho is a growing girl, perhaps more so due to her Terminus mutation. For her age, she is very tall and strongly built, her mutation having developped a small yet wiry athletic physique into a more noticeably large and powerful one. She's still in her awkward teenage years and this growth spurt only make her feel more awkward. Her hair is kept short for practicality and ease of maintenance. While Cho doesn't really have a secret identity (only using the name Rampart on the basis that it's 'tradition' to be called something), she does wear a costume. Due to her molecular manipulation being too poorly understood, the costume is materialized with a wrist-attached morphic molecule device, which exist solely to focus her powers in a narrow, pre-determined way as a mean to quickly change between her civilian clothes and costume. A cape has been recently added to the costume. Power Descriptions: Infused by Terminus energies, Cho has developed superhuman strength, endurance, speed and invulnerability and the ability of flight. These powers stem from her ability to alter and control molecules. These powers generally doesn't work on living organic matter (unless used to destroy) with one exception; Cho's own body. It's from this power that her restructured body and physique come from. History: Cho's mother survived the Terminus invasion. Nothing all that out of the ordinary by itself, plenty of people had. The specific details she doesn't speak about, being quite shaken by the ordeal. However, the Terminus exposure had altered her mother and this was passed on to Cho (and to her sister, however no one currently knows this). After falling on hard times, Cho's father moved to Southside. He was killed only two years later in a gang shoot out. Cho then lived out with her mother and later her stepfather, with whom Cho had to learn to patch things with. This all came to a change a few years ago. Cho began to experience excruciating pain nearly constantly and grew from small to outright towering and powerful, much to her delight as it only made her even better at sports she enjoyed so much and scared bullies away. However, deep down, she also felt scared and did not understand what was going on with her. Answers came when, in a fit of anger with a local jock bullying a smaller kid, she accidentally vaporized a chunk of the school's wall in a blast of Terminus energy. Following being enlisted at Claremont and later training with the World Youth Rescue Movement, Cho has learned to make much better use of her abilities. Personality & Motivation: Cho is desperate to prove herself and that her powers can be used for the greater good. She has good intentions but has poor judgment in how to proceed. Her temper is a lot less fiery than before and she's learned much but still remain, in many ways, quite the rookie to the superhero world. She tries to act more 'typically' of what someone would expect of a superhero like her but isn't sure if she's genuine or just putting on an act. Powers & Tactics: More confident and aware of her powers now, Cho has a better range of options in combat. Despite this, she remain quite reckless and still prone to resort to the typical tactic of 'hit it until it stop moving'. When harming her target is not an option, she instead resort to using her better-understood ability to alter molecules to restrain her target or alter the battlefield as best as she can. Nowadays she tries to resort less to violence right away. Cho is a decent combattant. While good enough to hold her own in a fight, she rely more on her raw physical powers than refined combat skills. She has some basic training and a simple understanding of hand to hand combat but this is where her skills end. Her training primarily exist to supplement her powers and nothing else, it cannot replace them should she be depowered. It is very possible to outmatch her without even being stronger and tougher than her. While capable of moving fast, her reflexes are overall poor. Complications:. Growth Spurts: Cho is still prone to painful growth spurts, both physically and power-wise.Matters of Power: Cho's snare can't work if there is nothing around to warp into restraints.Must Follow The Code: In her attempt to be a better hero, Cho has set herself an increasingly harsh code. No killing (unless absolutely necessary), never harm anyone first, no refusing the surrender of an opponent and never letting a single life be harmed in her presence.Patching the Family Life: Cho had a strained relationship with her family. While things are working out better now, there are still cracks here and there.Temper: She'very passionate but this also has plenty of downsides, especially when you can cause a lot of damage. The Conqueror WYRM: She's affiliated with the WYRM (World Youth Rescue Movement), which has a dark secret...Vendetta: Cho is after a supervillain who harmed her stepfather.Abilities: 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 2 + 0 = 18PP Strength: 34/14 (+12/+2), 84/34/14 Lifting (Heavy Load: 800 tons / 1 ton. / 175 lbs.) GM New Genesis Inc ( A Grant Clonglomerate Subsidiary) The North End, Freedom City, New Jersey Monday, November 3rd, 2014 4:14 PM Nestled squarely between Freedom City University and the many upstart tech properties lied the newest startup lab. Headed by Dr. Francis Newman, New Genesis Inc is a biongengineering firm. Dedicated to "providing a better tomorrow, today" as the words on the lobby say. The building was a dome shaped testament to architectural advancement. Appearing much like a sleek metallic lotus flower from the outside. The inside dug below the surface of the city. Secure access making a break in a difficult task. In reality, the building was a repurposed supervillain lair from the 1950s. Each floor filled with its own scientific think tank. Scientists are actively rotated among the floors depending on the need of a particular project. Leaving very few people actively aware of any projects that they weren't personally involved in. As part of Claremont's Work Study extracurricular program. Thaelia and Cho had been chosen to shadow Dr. Cassandra Steel for a week. Just as she was selected to join a developmental study on the lowest floor of the New Genesis labs.

GM February 28, 2015, 10pm Eastern Time It was quiet at Claremont Academy. The students were either a quiet Saturday night in Freedom City or resting snugly in their dormitories. Some were preparing for their routine "patrols" and others were working out in the simulator room. Headmaster Summers had discovered a strange uptick in bandwidth usage reported from his IT support at the school, and it was beginning to become worrisome. Worrisome as the FBI had sent an agent to investigate a large uptick in illegal downloading and uploading centered on the school. After a thorough investigation of the student activity over the network discovered nothing, not even a scrap of what was reported in the FBI investigation. This was going to not be a easy solution, but the Headmaster had an idea of how to start...

Millenium Mall, Midtown May 17th What had started as a perfectly normal day for Eileen and Vicky took a very very strange turn. Strange even by the standards of Freedom City. Their shopping trip had been interrupted by the sudden rampage of a large, angry monster right in the middle of the mall. What made it so strange was that the thing had just simply...appeared there. All of a sudden. No rhyme, no reason, there was just some giant monster attack for some reason. So the usual things hapenned; people panicked, screamed, ran away and soon a fight broke out between the monster and the two heroine. As the monster continued it's rampage, it finally found a way out of the mall. If the two didn't stop it soon, it would escape into the city and continue it's rampage! -- The skies above the city "Seriously, what the hell?!" Rampart shouted, grabbing a winged monster by the tail and swinging it around before throwing it. A milk run had just turned into an aerial chase against monsters who had just appeared out of nowhere. She wasn't the only one 'on the case', as there were other people currently repelling the monsters in the skies. In comical puffs of smoke, three more monsters appeared on the top of buildings in Midtown. "Oh come on!"

March 7, 2015 WYRM's move to the DeWitt Building had gone well. The new suburban location put the kids in a safe, secure location where they wouldn't be tempted by anything unwholesome in the neighborhood. The nearest restaurant was the Subway across the street, next to the big medical complex, and they were a good twenty-minute walk from the nearest bus station (faster if you had superpowers, of course). The worst trouble they could get into was the tobacco store in the strip mall down at the very end of the street, right where Ashton became unincorporated territory. But the kids were well-supervised - and the old hippie who ran the place knew to keep an eye out for them. WYRM had stayed busy over the last few months, pitching in to help out during the Communion invasion and other crises around Freedom City, doing the subtle work that made sure many of the civilians around the city noticed them and their good efforts, even if they still weren't on the radar of most super-teams yet. "That's okay," the kids were always reassured, "we're doing this work to set the world up for great things - not to make ourselves famous." It was a little frustrating the more glory-minded among them, but they all knew they had bright futures ahead of them. On the morning of March 7, Rampart was out patrolling in the area when the special WYRM communicator they'd given her during her last happy visit chimed. Something was going on that required her special services.

Dakana International Airport, Dakana 16th February 2015, 13:00 EAT (GMT +3) It wasn’t often that Claremont asked it’s students to travel halfway around the world, even if it was school holidays, but it wasn’t often that the request came on behalf of an actual King. The request was rather enigmatic but seemed to come from an official source of the Kings household. After rather lengthy discussion it was decided that one of the schools semi-official teams, Next-Gen, would have the honor to travel to Dakana. Flight BP66 one of the very modern Airbuses lands almost on schedule at the airport in a long but comfortable flight, whilst you were travelling economy the flight had very generous legroom. With the correct paperwork in hand you breezed through immigration to pick up your luggage that had travelled as diplomatic bags. Everything had been carefully prepared to make thing runs smoothly. Soon you were in the ultra modern clean airport lounge looking for whoever was here to greet you to this small African country.

WYRM HQ, Midtown July 6th The World Youth Rescue Movement's HQ didn't really have a high tech training room unlike Claremont. It was noticeably simpler and more bare-bone. Still, it was better than nothing and it got the job done, allowing Cho and the others to train. Currently Cho was under much stress, having to fend off attack after attack from multiple angles. The teenager crossed her arms over her face as a jet of hot flames erupted. She barely had the time to recover from that when a black blurr began assailing her with sharp claws. With only a brief moment to strike, Cho landed a punch on the second assailant, sending it flying, only to leave herself exposed to another jet of flame. -- As Cho was currently sparring with Magmatic and Racer Konchu, on the other side of the reinforced glass, Saboteur and Brainclay observed. "She wasn't kidding when she asked if this was simply a question of filling some gap in the team's abilities." Saboteur commented. "She's actually managing to hold her own against both Magmatic and Racer. ' 'Holding her own' is somewhat innacurate. She is clearly overall weaker than the two of them at once. This is hardly what I would call a fair fight. Not to mention she is very close to collapsing. Her endurance and resillence are formidable but not enough in this situation.' The telepath 'replied', still blankly staring ahead, not even making eye contact with his interlocutor. There wasn't a single hint of facial expression from the adrogynous alien. Continuing to observe the sparring match, which was less and less in Cho's favor as she kept being wailed on non stop by the other two, Saboteur added: "Still, the initial reports and assesments prove to be entirely accurate. Her abilities are quite impressive. I wouldn't say they are anything legendary, there have been plenty of individual with powers of this kind across superpowered history, but she's still something. Especially since she's clearly untrained and tapping into a mere fragment of her powers." 'Mental blocks are apparently quite common for individuals of this kind. Their feeble, simplistic terran minds are unable to rationalize the amount of power they posses. Their emotions, especially fear and doubt cloud their mind and install blocks. These blocks are what prevent them from fully accessing their full capabilities. A similar phenomena exist within telepaths.' "Yes what about her history and the psychological profile?" Saboteur was suddenly reminded, having asked Brainclay to review it. 'Subject is of mixed ancestry. Biological progenitor unit you call a father was apparently what you would called korean-japanese. It appears that the bequeating a japanese name to the child would be strange, but that is the only apparently unusual detail to her history beyond her unusual ancestry. Said father was killed in a random act of violence, which may act as a potential motivator for fighting what she may consider 'evil'. Otherwise her famillial history is completely and utterly mundane and insignificant. As for Cho, she appears to be rather mundane herself.' Coldly stated the alien. "Define mundane, will you?" He asked back to the alien. The telepath continued to coldly state everything, still not making any eye contact: 'She is not particularly notable. She does not stand out from the crowd of countless other humans of her age range and gender. The subject has her own unique...quirks...but those are nothing out of the ordinary. Her most notable trait is that she is actually quite the underachiever; it is this very trait which prevents her standing out from the rest as she is remarkably lazy and unwilling to develop any talent she might naturally posess.' "If you ask me she seems rather determined so that IS something. Still, I guess that was part of the whole idea, getting someone that is...ah, I suppose 'normal' is the right term." Said Saboteur, continuing his analytical observation of Cho's fight, down to her fighting style. Or rather lack of fighting style, as the case was. It was only at Claremont that she ever received any amount of what might be called training. Mostly it was just her flailling until she hit something. "Her balance and reflexes are good, but hardly good enough to suffice in a fight like this. She's poor at guarding her sides and..." He muttered to himself, analyzing the battle. 'I would hardly defined someone so infused with entropy as 'normal'. Such being is an anomaly. It is, therefore, anormal.' The telepath added, as it walked out of the observation room. -- "Okay, phew whew okay...yeah...j-just a minute." Cho garbled out, collapsing from the repeated blows from Magmatic and Racer Konchu. She had done everything to hold her own against the two in a brawl but raw determination wasn't enough to keep her ticking and fighting forever. Grunting, the teenager tried to get back on her leg after receiving blows that would have broken an ordinary human in half. "I-I think we're good for today. I hope you guys got, well, whatever information you wanted out of that." "Oh I'm sure Miles got what he wanted out of this Choey! He's good at picking up other's weakness. Here, take my hand I'll get you up!" Said the energetic magmin, offering a large, thick hand made of hardened crystals to her sparring partner.

Earth ND - Freedom City, Some time ago... Some random café... "I tried to keep the visions away." The man says, while sitting in a coffee, his old hand tighly gripping his hot coffee cup. With a shaking hand, he raised it to his lips. A slurping noise soon followed, as he sloppily ingested the liquid. "I really tried." He said, in an old, broken voice, the voice of a weary old man who doesn't know what to do with life anymore. "Come on, dad." His daughter said, worried about him and rightfully so. "Just...just go tell the doctor, he'll get you some new medecine or something." She reached out to touch his hand but he backed away, with a look of fear in his eyes. With his hand still shaking, he placed the coffee cup back on the table, making a loud noise. "I'm not, crazy. I'm...not...crazy." He whispered. "It hapenned, I've seen it happen. I can see things, things I can't see with my old, sickly eyes. I can see worlds; I can see shining cities, I can see horrific abyss. I see them in my dream, clearly. Clearer than anything else." The old man said. He knew he sounded crazy, but also knew he wasn't crazy. Years ago he would have believed his own madness, but now the world has gone mad. The super men were real. Gods walked the earth. One old man with prophetic dream wasn't so strange, now was it? "It started, I don't know, probably more than a decade ago. I was at the hospital, you know, my cancer? All I wanted was to survive, so I could keep telling my grandchildren stories; that's all I wanted. And I got that, I got better but something changed in me, that day." He look at his daughter, who had an expression of unease on her face. "There's only one word that can apply to what hapenned to me, it's what they call it on TV, on Radio." He said, as his daughter shook her head in denial. The old man leaned in and said, in a hushed voice; "Breakout." She shook her head, in denial, with tears in her eyes. "No, d-dad, you're just sick! Go to a doctor!" He slammed his fists on the table, causing her to step up in shock and surprise. Her father had never shown any signs of violence, having been a peaceful man all his life; surely, his behavior were the sign of dementia and old age. "I'm not sick! I'm not crazy! I've had a vision! Something...something terrible is going to happen and I have to stop it!" "Even if you were right, what are you going to do about it? You...you don't have powers, right? I mean, not like them." the daughter said, trying to make an effort to listen to her old father, in the slim chance he was actually right. "You're right." The old man replied, taking another sip of his coffee. "I can't fly, I can't summon fire from my hands; all I can do is see things. Other places. The past, the future. Strange places. That's why...that's why I have to go there, look for answers." Only he knew what he was talking about; strange realms beyond the senses of ordinary people. "What place, dad? What...where?" "A world of fairy tales." The old man said, chuckling at his own insanity. Despite his diehard belief in how it was real, he still had those small moments of doubt. "I know, I know...it sound crazy, we've talked about crazyness before. The thing is, I've seen them in my dreams; beautiful, imaginary cities you can visit. Somewhere, in there, I'll find an answer. A way to stop the disaster that is coming." "If you can...um...see the future, then doesn't that make it impossible to change?" She then, mere moments later, realized she was actually buying into her father's senility. There was no way she could buy into this, yet here she was, believing him. Perhaps it was simply a matter of faith in him. He had always been sensible, why would he be crazy all of a sudden? "I've seen it happen before; sometimes, when I try to act I can change the outcome. Sometimes good, sometimes bad." He explained, trying to reassure her that his quest wouldn't be in vain. The old man stood up and placed the chair back where it belonged, leaving the half-finished coffee where it was. __ Later... An appartment in the North End... Sitting in his chair, the old man stared at the shot of whisky he was holding. He wasn't much of a heavy drinker, far from it. Just the occasional shot here and there, especially when seeing old friends but right now, he felt like he was going to need it as he prepared to do something he had never done before, tapping into his full powers as a paranormal. "I'm just an old man." he said to himself. "But who knows? I might find something to help me on the other side." The old man swallowed his shot of whisky. "Phew, well; time to feel like I'm a youngster again. Diving into the unknown, that should be something." Briefly he turned to look at the open TV, showing the image of a young Paranormal, who was making a name for herself using her powers, perhaps for good or perhaps for fame. Briefly, she shook hand with people in the crowd, before fist-bumping someone in particular in said crowd. Another teenager-young woman. Without exchanging a word, it seemed the two knew each others, but the old man didn't pay more attention to it as he had began to use his powers to 'open a path'. Around him, the appartment shifted, as if liquid. In fact, the walls appeared as if they were melting. Soon enough, they liquified. Rocks and plants began to grow on the walls and the floor and the ceilling morphed into a starry sky. "Amazing..." He said, with a sense of wonder he hadn't felt in decades. Step by step, the old man walked toward his destination, deep inside the Imageria... __ Earth-Prime - Freedom City, November 29 2014 North End Interdimensional kerfuffles were really not Cho's area of expertise, not by a long shot. Not that she really had an area of expertise; mostly she just punched stuff and that was all she needed when it came to fighting crime and evil. As it hapenned, she and Stronghold hapenned to be in the area when...something...was apparently summoned or appeared in the North End. Some eerie, supernatural beast, of ill-defined shape. "It's getting weak!" Cho shouted at Stronghold. "We can take it down together!"

OOC of this thread: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> For simplicity's sake; "This is how the Earth-Prime Cho speak." and "This is how the Earth-Paragon Cho speak." There, color coded for convenience. I'd recommend some color coding to tell which version of our character is speaking, especially when inside the same post.
