Avenger Assembled Posted January 28, 2018 Author Posted January 28, 2018 Okay, let's see some initiative
Fox Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Initiative Roll: 1d20+7 10 Holding babies is not good for init. I'm guessing by "main force", Matt's dogs are warded out of this place?
Avenger Assembled Posted February 3, 2018 Author Posted February 3, 2018 Woodsman - 25 Nighthawk - 23 Woundmaker - 21 Frostbyte - 21 Solution - 18 Ardent - 18 Sparkler - 17 Goons - 14 Grim - 10 The Sandersons - 8 Peyton - 5 Cannibal Alkahest - 5 (bolded characters are not acting this turn)
Avenger Assembled Posted February 3, 2018 Author Posted February 3, 2018 Everyone take an initial HP for the Alkahest's transformation. Woodsman: Woodsman spends a full-round action dragging his mother behind cover, taking cover himself. Nighthawk is up as soon as I post IC
alderwitch Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Power Attack: 17 Which is not enough so HP for the reroll. Have to power attack since Alkahest has that impervious 10 Reroll: 23 Thats a PL12 TOU punch to the jaw.
Avenger Assembled Posted February 10, 2018 Author Posted February 10, 2018 Hey everybody, before I go ahead and have the NPC go - The idea here was that we have a big, hard fight and save the Fens (and possibly Freedom City) from being eaten by rampaging Ferals - I think we were still going to go with Nighthawk holding the Alkahest in the portal so it closes shut on her arm? After that the cleanup crew arrives, and there's time for the more social characters like Nighthawk and Sparkler to shine and finish the conversations started before the threads came together. I had thought that was the plan from the beginning, but I hadn't put it all down in one place before. Are we still good for that?
Avenger Assembled Posted February 12, 2018 Author Posted February 12, 2018 Woundmaker is in a tough position - he wants the heroes to die, but he also doesn't want the cannibal Alkahest that Abel was supposed to have dealt with to eat him or his men. Move Action: take cover and activates his Master Plan, giving himself and his allies +3 to all skill checks and attack rolls Standard Action: Snipe Grim! 19 With the Master Plan, that hits! DC 25 Toughness save - note that if you take an Injured here, you will get access to a dog.
Fox Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 Toughness Save vs. Woundmaker's Shot (DC25): 1d20+10 16 Welp! He fails by 9. Considering that he's holding a baby, I'm gonna go ahead and save resources, and not reroll that. His odds aren't great regardless.
Avenger Assembled Posted February 12, 2018 Author Posted February 12, 2018 Injured and Dazed, and you get access to one dog! Okay, Solution is up as soon as I post IC.
Gizmo Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 How far away is Woundmaker from the Solution? Just figuring out the Solution's priorities!
Gizmo Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Well, fair enough. The Solution Standard Action: Attack Feral Alkahest; Power Attack 5: 1d20+5 8 Hero Point: Attack Feral Alkahest; Power Attack 5, HP Reroll: 1d20+5 11 Becomes a 21 and a DC 36 Toughness Save. Improved Grab: Opposed Grapple Check: 1d20+33 34 Well that won't work.
Avenger Assembled Posted February 19, 2018 Author Posted February 19, 2018 Yeah, not so much on the Grapple. http://orokos.com/roll/595591 it actually rolled a 1 on the Toughness save, but that's obviously a little crazy for these purposes! So let's call that a bruised and dazed. The next character who is up is Sparkler. After we finish this round, I'll break this into individual scenes for easier writing.
Electra Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Raina is going to grab the sword from her parents and attempt to put that poor cow out of its misery herself, let me know if anything is going to require a roll there. I'm also going to spend one of the many, many Complication-related HP she deserves for this thread to queue up her array into a form useful for closing magic portals or assisting in closure of same. Merlin is going to bite the proverbial bullet and call for as much superhero backup as he can swing, probably Claremont and the Freedom League emergency line.
Avenger Assembled Posted February 22, 2018 Author Posted February 22, 2018 AP: Nullify 10 (portal magic) {20/20} The only caveat is that the closing will not happen this turn; the doorway to Riley's dimension doesn't want to be closed - it wants to open wider.
Avenger Assembled Posted February 23, 2018 Author Posted February 23, 2018 The guards! They go ahead and open up on the Cannibal Alkahest. Using field battle rules here. http://orokos.com/roll/597015 = they hit, with penetrating ammo. http://orokos.com/roll/597016 = 31! Doesn't work! Go ahead and post, Grim, I'll don't want to bother with a full-on post for these guys.
Fox Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Given his day and the blood, I would like to stunt the following on Matt: Summon, normal: Summon Minion 11 (165pp dogs; Feats: Mental Link, Progression 2 (5 dogs), Subtle; Extras: Fanatical, Horde) [48PP] Summon, stunt: Summon Minion 11 (165pp dogs; Feats: Mental Link, Progression 2 (5 dogs), Subtle; Extras: Fanatical, Heroic) [48PP] Per our house rules only one summoned creature could be heroic, which is fine by me (and without Horde he could only summon one at a time anyway). Matt's not carrying a baby into combat!
