I based it on HGM's Hellhound and tweaked it with colors to make it easy to read at a glance. Is this good/bad? Did I mess stuff up? Jack Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 It ties into his background and is another outlet for the spirit(s) he is bonded with. As a Shaman by birth and through his bloodline he has abilities.
TheAbsurdist Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Shaman is not an inherited trait, it is effectively a descriptor for 'wizard/magician.' A good key for magical stuff is this: It can be hereditary, but it is not genetic, within setting. Codifying magic, or applying logical things to it starts to push it out of 'Magic.' This seems to be a 'I want to do everything build,' or a 'Olopi Army Knife,' where the sheet can handle anything thrown at it, cause HEY it's got a form. Also, I tend to be askance regarding Arrayed Enhanced Charisma. How does it arrive there? The Shaman form lacks the necessary Communication power to converse with spirits that are not Manifest. Nor any Super Senses that will detect them, which makes me go back 'Olopi Army Knife.' If you want the forms to look different you need Morph.

I'm thinking maybe making Jack more of a druid type is a better representation of what I had in mind. The Bear is part of his magic as a Shaman, but so is the cold. Mechanically can prolly be better represented will work on it. Thank u for ur help (:
TheAbsurdist Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Realistically this build, and prior conversations we've had, represents an issue a lot of new players have, which is trying to do too much. Your character has to have weaknesses, has to have things they can't do. While we do allow for rebuilds, this is a drastic one in such a short window after creation... is problematic.
Jack Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Totally understandable and I think what Happened was I was planning too much. Where he is at now, he has no abilities with his shaman powers except the bear and he was meant to learn about things through RP.

I think we are going to look at his sheet to make Base Jack a little more durable and leave it at that. Perhaps even just use some PP. However, want to say mea culpa... or however you spell that or use that phrase.
